We have used this company for years. We purchased most, if not all, of our appliances through them. Our most recent purchase was an Electrolux washing machine 1 year ago and the matching Electrolux dryer 1 1/2 years ago. They installed the dryer without completing the steamer attachments, and reused the old vent that had holes in it. They left the new vent and rings on top of the dryer along with the equipment to attach the steamer and left. I had to call them back and ask why they didn't finish the set up with the steamer option that we paid for along with reusing the old venting that had a hole in it. I didn't receive an explanation but they would credit me back for that part of the installation. They never came back to install the steamer and when I called again they told me it's better not to use that option as it would rust the dryer out. The 1 1/2 year old dryer recently started making very loud noises , so I called them again and they said they would send someone out. I explained this is only a 1 1/2 year old dryer that was purchased through them. I was told I didn't buy the extended warranty for $400 so it isn't covered. They sent out someone 3 weeks later to look at it. When the young man showed up at the door, he didn't introduce himself, just said "where is it"? I said ok, you must be from Doyons, and showed him where it was. Normally, they tell us what was wrong and how much it would cost to repair. Within 40 minutes, he came down and began to leave without saying a word. We had to stop him and ask what was going on. He was angry and irritated and just said it's fixed. We said you fixed it? He said yup and rattled off what he did and walked out the door. We already paid $190 for them to come out and diagnose the problem. They were supposed to look at the machine, tell us what was wrong, and the cost to fix it. Instead, he fixed it and tried to leave without telling us what was wrong or what he did to fix it and then they charged our card for an additional $387. All in all, this is no longer the Doyons from years ago. Poor service, rude customer service, and zero communication. They do not care about the customer any longer, just about how Much money they can drain from you for doing the bare minimum. read more

We had the misfortune of needing a new refrigerator in the midst of extreme cold and close to two feet of snow on the ground in the wake of a major storm. The snow meant that the optimal path into our kitchen from the back was impassible, so the front door would have to come off (along with the doors of the old refrigerator), and the path inside the house would be a very tight squeeze. When we described the issue to a salesman at Lowes, he literally said "forget it" -- and explained that their hired contractors ("they're just kids") don't take off doors or spend time solving complex delivery issues any more. So I inquired with Doyon, as a locally owned store, whether they could do better. The answer was yes, and this morning's refrigerator delivery and installation was just perfect. They came with their own plumber, and the delivery truck showed up exactly when promised. Doors came off, doors were put back on, problems were solved -- and despite everything, we now have a nice, newly installed refrigerator. I do see the less than stellar reviews below. Our own delivery could not have been easier or more problem-free. Highly recommend Doyon, based on our experience. read more

I purchased a washer/dryer combo. I was informed of a 2 hour window the night before the delivery. I was kept up to date with email and texts the day of the delivery and was alerted when they were 15 minutes away which was very helpful to be ready. The delivery folks were friendly and they checked the product after it was installed to ensure it was level and had no leaks. They cleaned the area when they were done. RUN as fast as you can away from Doyon's if you're ever thinking of purchasibg an appliance from them. And sadly, I've been a longstanding customer of theirs for nearly 15 years; and the last two years alone have been torturous!!! The big problem with Doyons is their absolutely inadequate service team and model -- even though they're eager to sell extended warranties and service with purchased appliances. But here's what you actually get with their service -- at least four-to-six weeks of waiting time for the first available service appointment AND a horrific attitude from their customer service agents who don't care at all and are well-versed into saying "sorry, that's the best we can do." And I'm not basing this on one experience -- so shame on me for continuing with Doyons as a local, family-owned business. Time after time over the last two years when a washer or dryer has been in need of service, it's been the same excruciating and utterly insulting process. in fact, one time when a service person was supposed to be arriving at 2PM and suddenly without warning I was told they'd be showing up at 10AM, my reply was that I had an appointment that made it difficult to be home at that time. So guess what happened? I canceled my appointment and sat and waited since it was only 15 minutes until 10AM -- in a chair that allowed me to see out the window so I could be is responsive as possible to getting the service person in and finished as quickly as possible so that I might still catch the window to be at my appointment. INSTEAD, what happened was at about 10:20AM, I received a text message saying "Your service appointment has been closed since our technician just arrived and no one was home!!" WHAT? oh so now your service person assumed that since I was having an issue with a scheduled appointment and the abrupt change of schedule from Doyons that I might have trouble being home? Right, so then the service person took it as an opportunity to lie and say they stopped by and no one was home!" Needless to say, that service person had to come back the same day, because I could prove with a web cam that NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP. Bit I was simply told that it would have to be after the appointment that rhe technician was already at, requiring me to tie up the remainder of my day to deal with this extraordinarily negligent and disturbing dynamic. So that's why I say to run as fast as possible to Best Buy or Costco or Fergusons for your appliance needs. Save yourself from the grossly inadequate business model that Doyons has at its core. Trust me, it's as deeply rooted as it gets and is unlikely to get better. read more

Shouldn't give Doyons one star. We are long time residents of Bedford and specifically went to Doyons to buy a washer/dryer set. Purchased a GE Profile set based on recommendation of Doyons and wanted to support a small business hoping that we would receive better service. Unfortunately we were wrong. The dryer has broken twice in 16 months. We contacted Doyons in Bedford and they were completely unhelpful and unwilling to facilitate the repair process with GE stating that we didn't purchase an extended warranty and would need to contact GE ourselves for further assistance or pay an expensive service charge to have Doyons look at the almost new dryer. In addition, we would need to pay for repairs to the essentially new dryer. Will not buy anything else from this business, nor another GE appliance!! read more

My very expensive signature collection refrigerator had been having problems with the ice maker. It was frosting over the inside of the freezer. The wait time for service was almost a month and so the person on the phone let me know they would order a new ice maker (all parts essentially) in advance to cover their bases so they would not have to come back...GOOD. Point awarded to Doyons. It was a long summer month without ice and the yellow sticky note telling the kids not to try to use it had faded and was beginning to peel from the refrigerator. The delay was not their fault and perhaps a seasonal issue for all refrigerators for all mankind. When Jeremiah did arrive, he came prepared. He told me that he had the replacement and could pull parts from it if the entire unit was not needed. I appreciated that my exposure was to be less than 100% of an ice maker. Point awarded to Doyons. In about five minutes of inspection Jeremiah let me know that I did NOT need any parts and it was just a matter of "unsticking the flapper". He spent ten minutes chiseling away the ice and preparing it for operations. IT WAS HIS CANDOR and his HONESTY that compelled me to write this. It could have been easy for him to drop the new unit in and score a big invoice for his company. He did not and there was such a transparency to him and his approach. When I bought a new Speed Queen front load washing machine from Doyon's, the delivery/installation crew was a comedy of errors. They had never installed this model and really had no idea what to do. The first time they "installed" it they didn't remove internal packing material meant to be removed when installed. This caused the machine to gyrate violently. After contacting the owner, the same guys returned and did a very slightly better job. But the machine never really ran correctly since. Avoid buying from Doyon's. They only care about making money from selling you stuff. They don't care at all about after-sake service or customer satisfaction. I recommend Yale Appliances. read more

My old washing machine failed and I live close to Doyon's Bedford. Here is some advice, to help avoid problems that I had: Research the reviews of the appliances they carry before you buy. If you've never had a high efficiency washing machine, research the differences from old machines. Less water might require more rinses and different detergents for sensitive skin. It turns out that Doyon's has a 7-day return\exchange policy. When purchasing they also add on $179 for nearby delivery, installation, and haul away. Read all the instructions and warnings in the machine manual, and do a wash, especially with balanced bulky items, before the 7-day deadline. After that timeframe, they will promptly send a manufacturer technician out to test problems, but my General Electric technician tested only with a computer and a load only containing water, and said it was working as designed. I do not like my machine but will have to live with it. My experience with Doyon's and General Electric could have been better also. read more

Purchased a $3,000 stacked residential- commercial washer washer and dryer because they had the best price. Less then 1 year later the door latch mechanism needed replacement. Not blaming Doyon's for the unacceptable defect but the 6 week repair cycle. It took Doyon's 3 weeks to send a repair man to diagnose the problem. It took them less then a week to get the part but I again had to wait 3 weeks for the part to be installed. The Service manager was very apologetic but that didn't make me happy going to relatives houses to do our laundry for over a month. Got great service from Doyon's today. My Dacor oven wouldn't light. The technician noticed the oven door hadn't been installed correctly, asked several key questions, and within minutes, identified the potential problem. He called Dacor to be sure he could fine the reset switch he was looking for rather than taking apart the whole stove to get at it. Turned out to be easily accessible. Hit the reset button, and the oven worked. He also put the door back on correctly. This should result in the oven working better. Only four stars because on a previous service call, with different technician, the door was improperly installed, and we've been using it this way for two years. Der! read more

Also, beware that if you ordered multiple items that came in different times, they will insist on making only one delivery trip and you have to wait. I wish I could give a lower rating than a one star for this store. We deeply regret patronizing Doyons. We went to them specifically to buy a gas stove because the sales person told us they have a full-time plumber who handles the gas hookup and would coordinate the plumbing work with the delivery. Well, they delivered the stove and took away the old one, as promised, in the morning. But then their plumber shows up two hours late. The guy basically walks into my house without introducing himself, no apologies for his tardiness and is very rude and disrespectful. About three minutes into the job he drills a hole in my kitchen floor hitting the electrical service saying "Gee, who would think that would happen". Again, no apologies, but now we have no electricity. I started to feel both very angry and very scared. If he is so careless with the drill I certainly didn't want him touching the gas in our house. My husband couldn't come home so I called the sales person at Doyons who sold us the stove and told him what was going on. He was non-committal but asked to speak with the plumber. Well, after the plumber replaced the wire he said "I'm outta here". I called Doyon's and was finally able to talk with Mike Doyon. I asked him to find us another plumber. He told me his plumber is the best and that everyone makes mistakes, insinuating that I had caused this problem. His tone was indifferent - he did not care. He refused to help me in any way, leaving us high and dry with no stove at 2 PM on the Friday before Memorial Day. In the past 3 months we've purchased a washing machine, a refrigerator and now this stove from Doyon's, but none of this seems to matter to them. They do not care about their customers, bottom line. I wish I had thought to "Yelp" Doyons before going there because others who have written reviews on them describe similar nightmares. We bought from them because we wanted to support a local business, but they don't deserve our business. I wish we had gone to a more reputable appliance store or one of the big box stores and gotten our own plumber. read more

Have done business with Doyon's for decades. They offer pretty good appliances and have descent service. One always needs to do diligence when purchasing appliances, which is true for Doyon's. My washing machine died suddenly and I checked for local appliance stores to replace it. I went first to an appliance store in Littleton and was disappointed in the sales service that I received by an arrogant sales person who told me that delivery and install would take 3 weeks. Additionally, I decided to replace my dryer which was the same age of the washer (over 20 years old) that is run on gas, and was told that I would need to find a plumber on my own to connect the dryer. Dissatisfied, I decided to stop by this store to see what they had to say. I was greeted by a friendly and helpful sales person who listened to me and made some suggestions on brands and features. He answered my questions patiently and I was able to quickly identify what I wanted. Delivery was scheduled for the following weekend and included hauling away the old machines and a plumber to connect the dryer (for a fee). I was thrilled as I did not want to spend half of the weekend purchasing new appliances. I received a call the night before (as promised) to schedule a delivery window of 10am to noon (I had requested a morning delivery time). They showed-up at 10am with a courtesy call before arrival and had everything done within an hour. Delivery team was friendly, efficient and personable and took great care to make sure the install was done perfectly. After several loads of wash, we were concerned about the intense vibration of the spin cycle. My husband stopped by the store on a weeknight after work and explained our concern, the gentleman stopped by later that evening to investigate. He addressed our concerns and gave some suggestions. Could not be happier with the service and will be going back for future appliance purchases. read more

He was extremely knowledgeable about all the various models, listened carefully to what was important to us, and helped us select the perfect refrigerator for our needs. Delivery was scheduled at a convenient time for us and was also a very positive experience. The delivery crew called ahead of their arrival, were extremely polite, friendly, and most of all good at what they do. The old refrigerator was removed and the new one installed in a careful manner. I had a few questions a few days after delivery, and the salesman and the store manager went out of their way to make sure all my questions were answered and that I was satisfied with the purchase. We bought a microwave oven at Doyon's in Bedford and the sales person was very helpful. However the microwave never worked properly and finally gave out all together Easter morning. Because of scheduling conflicts their repair service was not able to come to our house for over a week and once here said it would take another week and a half to get the part. When I asked why I couldn't just get another microwave they said they weren't allowed to do that - the manufacturer warranty says it has to be repaired. Thus I'll be out a microwave for at least 3 weeks. If you buy from them, hopefully you won't get a defective product that they won't stand behind. read more

2 years ago I bought a Bosch washer from Doyon's in Reading. They sent 2 clowns to deliver the washer and hook it up. When I put the first load in the washer it moved 2 feet across the floor! It turned out that they had left bolts that were suppose to be removed inside the washer. They did not offer to replace the $1200 washer (although it still worked after the bolts were removed it surely suffered damage). My advice is do not consider this company. read more

I went there in a panic after Sears fully disappointed me 2 days before Thanksgiving and my fridge was failing. They totally listened to my issues regarding size and location limitations of the much needed fridge and explained numerous options and price points and made sure it was on the truck to deliver to me the next day- which it did and was brought in and set up by 2 really careful competent guys. Price was better than Sears and customer service was 1000x better. Sears completely messed up my appliance order and kept changing the delivery date (3 times) and also told me some of my items weren't available anymore. I was beyond frustrated and came to Doyons after 5 total hours on the phone with Sears trying to fix their mistake. Mike from Doyons took my Sears receipt and found all the items I had ordered. He ordered them from his supplier and had them delivered a couple days later! He fixed all my problems quickly and gave me great prices! I went home immediately and canceled with Sears!! read more

Stay away...they are bad news! I wish I had read the Yelpers' reviews, prior to patronizing a hometown store. BTW, the Doyons purchased this store from the Walcotts a few years ago and it has gone down hill very quickly! Mike Doyon, the son of the owner, is one of the most condescending, self righteous and arrogant individuals I have ever encountered...AND he is the store MANAGER! We ordered an appliance, and after delivery, I noticed damage done to the interior of our home, due to the delivery. I attempted to clean it up without success. I requested others in our family to assist, in an attempt a clean up the mess, as well as our cleaning lady. No one was able to rectify same. To make a long story short, Mike viewed the mess, and stated, "how are you certain, my men made the mess?", and advised he would call a painter to contact me. The painter never called and Mike called stating he is "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MESS CREATED BY HIS MEN"!!!!! Hopefully, this store will be out of business prior to hurting any other good willed people. The salespeople and delivery people from HOME DEPOT, LOWES, SEARS, ETC. ARE EXCEPTIONAL...AND THEIR PRICES ARE MUCH LOWER!!! How I wish I could have given a "no star" rating to this store. read more

I purchased an air conditioner which turned out to be defective (VERY loud) when the guys installed it. Rather than taking it away and replacing it, they insisted that I had to have their repair technicians check it out. When the repair guys came a few days later, they found that it was dented and told me that I would get a replacement. So.... that meant a THIRD visit, a THIRD time I had to wait around at home, THIRD time moving my furniture out of the way, etc. Not only that, but when Mr. Doyon called me to set up the delivery for the second air conditioner, he was very abrupt and not the LEAST bit apologetic for my inconvenience. To top it off, I realized after the fact that the replacement AC was a different model from the one I had originally purchased. I would like to say that the installers and the repair folks were super -- very nice and very concerned about my inconvenience. But as for the company: definitely not recommended. I need a new stove and will certainly NOT be purchasing it from Doyon's! read more

I purchased a complete kitchen full of Bosch appliances from Doyon's with in the last two years and this week observed that the dishwasher appear to be falling sideways and has pushed the base cabinet next to it out from under the countertop. I called Doyon's who tried to convince me that it was falling forward not sideways (no they did not come out to look) and then told me that their record show that they didnt install it but they did have a name on the contract that they assured me was the installer of record. Sadly it was my husband's name that they had and really he had not installed the dishwasher. I am just looking to figure out what is going on and they offered to charge me for a service call but beyond that had no interest in any customer service. They made it clear that they only sell appliances and do not stand by either their installation or products. Ouch bad timing Doyon's, I need a new washer and it will not come from you. read more
