We really wanted to give our business to this small local business shop but alarm bells were going off from the get-go. First visit in store we talked about our needs for 3 doors and was told we would receive an email quote. Waited a week for the quote and after a week with no return call and no email quote we returned to shop where we were told "oh I'm working on your quote right now" (a week later?). Walked out with our quote, shopped around and emailed Shirley saying we found a different front door option we liked better, provided link to new door asking for a revised quote. 3 days later got an email with exact same price. I replied confirming that the new option was the exact same price and 2 days later got an email saying "we don't carry that brand". No suggestions on comparable door they provide. Just horrible communication, horrible customer service. We don't expect over the top customer service. Rare to find these days but at least SOME customer service would be nice when you're looking to spend close to $10k. read more

We went into their Rancho Cucamonga store showroom with the intention of buying a few custom doors for our home but decided this wasn't the place for us. The second we walked in, two gentlemen were in the front of the store-- neither greeted us or even said hello. We made a few laps around their small showroom with one of the men making eye contact with us then quickly looking away as if we were not their type of clientele. Customer service here is disappointing. My boyfriend and I went in to get a quote on a new slider and when we walked in there was an older woman helping a couple. This woman didn't acknowledge us at all which was odd (not even a hello) but we overlooked it and waited patiently realizing she was helping a customer and appeared to be working by herself. We kept ourselves busy by looking around the store for awhile but after realizing she didn't even make an attempt to acknowledge us we stood there in shock. Even that didn't get her attention. Honestly, I'm understanding to a point but it's unacceptable that after 15 minutes (working alone or not) not to at least acknowledge a customer. I can imagine she's an owner or related to an owner because as a business owner myself having a salesperson who ignores customers is not acceptable. We needed a new back door and man door in the garage for our forty year old home. I knew we needed a steel or fiberglass door for the backdoor, as it gets lots of sun and wood doors never withstood the elements well. For the garage, I simply wanted a solid-core wood door. Nothing of our needs seemed all that difficult. Thought for sure Home Depot was going to be the way to go, and they were having a sale on the fiberglass door we liked. Got a quote of $2300, which seemed high, but they explained they had to replace the door frames as well as the doors, and they were not able to replace just the doors. Of course, this would also disturb the stucco surrounding the doors, but they assured me they would caulk around the new frames and trim (which I would have to paint additionally). Thought I'd check with DP Door, just to get a comparison. So glad I did. Not only could they provide exactly what we wanted for the doors, but they could replace the doors only, in the existing frames, negating the need to disturb the stucco and paint any new trim pieces. And they were $1,000 less for exactly what we wanted. Doors were ordered and an install date was set. The installer (Kevin) showed up on time, and got right to work. The installation was professional and very skilled, and the results are outstanding. They installed new hinges, and our old knobs/locks without any pressure to up-sell to new hardware. We went into the store a few weeks ago. An older lady helped us and provided us an estimate for a 16 foot patio slider. A few days later one of their workers came to our house to take a look at the area of where we want to install the slider. I didn't get a good vibe from him. He didn't seem like he wanted to do the work. Kept making excuses. Said he needed to talk to his "engineer buddy" and get back to us Monday. We even decided to go down to a 12 foot slider from a 16 foot slider and he said it's gonna cost us MORE! More for what??? I think he was trying to rip us off. Either way, he never called us back to follow up. Poor customer service! I feel like it was a waste of time. I wouldn't recommend this company. UPDATE- HA! He already forgot about us the moment your company decided not to bother to follow up or have any consideration to call us. He didn't want to do the job plain and simple. The lady who answered was unprofessional, and talked to me like I was wasting her time and spoke like she was rushing me off the phone. Excellent Service!! Terry is unbeliveable in his field. I have found a new door place for good. Ok ... now that I got that out of the way. We're having some people stay in our bedroom over a week or two while they visited from Texas. During that time we had an unfortunate Plumbing incident and my daughter lock the keys in our room. Those keys were the only set of keys that we had do I had to break into the house by going through the door busting the door and causing slight damage to the frame. I made multiple calls trying to get ahold of someone that can help me and pretty much everyone said I'm sorry sir you're about to 3 weeks out there is no way I can get this door replaced before these people come and live in my home. I was upset at myself because of course the timing being so horrible to lock the keys into the bedroom and then have to bash the door through was just not working out and I was almost to the point where I was about ready to call the people who are coming to stay with us and tell them they were going to need to stay in a hotel. I started calling so many different places which I won't mention here I finally called DP doors. Terry listened to me very kindly on the phone and I could tell he felt compassion for my situation (this is the marked characteristic of good service). I Honestly thought I was like most of the time going to get a bunch of lip service and then the told the same response (that you're looking at one week to two weeks out) at first that's kind of the response I got and then he put me on hold for a minute and said hold on let me see what I can do. That was music to my ears he told me to bring down the door and he'll do what he can to match the door at this point in time I was elated because basically I needed to drive down to the LAX airport and pick up my guests and he said he would have the door available by the time I got back. Sure enough he left the door in the front of the house (like i requested) I left the check and I went to go put the door in and it wasn't his fault but somehow the door did not fit. I was so frustrated I wasn't mad at DP doors I was frustrated about the whole situation now I have them in my home and there's nothing I can do because the door won't close. Just imagine you have people coming out from out of town to stay with you and now their husband and wife and they have no privacy because their door won't close... This was not a good situation. Because of the stress level the people who were staying with us had we decided to go up to the mountains up in Rancho Cucamonga. After I get a call back from Terry saying James I think I can fix your problem I have another appointment and I think I may be able to fit you in. Was complete music to my ears because just like he said as we drove down there he was waiting to go into my home and like a magician he walks up to the door takes a look at it pushed it a few times seems a little bit perplexed comes back with a drill and a long screw he sets it just perfectly into the door drill through the door into the frame one of the largest Nails I've ever seen and the coolest part was and I'm sorry it was actually a screw tell you how much I know about doors he gets this screw puts it into the bracket pushes the door and it closes and locks. No honestly I don't know what could be better the service the follow up everything was just as it was said nothing is always perfect but the most amazing part about good service as it when things do go wrong someone is there to fix the problem.
