I contacted this florist shop to create a custom bouquet that is similar to arrangements by a specific floral designer in Korea, and the florist did a beautiful job capturing the vibe of what I wanted. My only complaint was that my call was routed strangely and I wasn't notified of which pickup location I was supposed to go to, so I ended up going to the one on W Campbell instead of the one near the lovefield airport 35 min away (usually 20 something minutes, but traffic was icky). Though i would've loved to get the bouquet with the specially ordered garden roses, we were in a rush for my sister's graduation ceremony, so the florist who originally created the bouquet was able to whip something up pretty quickly and still well within budget. Overall, great product though communications and overall experience wasn't as ideal as I would've preferred. A notification or confirmation of pickup location is strongly suggested. In the end, we got what was needed, so I'll be giving them 4 stars. read more

I was sent a gorgeous very expensive cut flower bouquet for my birthday. My only complaint is they used a chipped glass vase which I think is tacky. They should check their glass vases very carefully for safety reasons as well as it did not look nice and maybe they do and choose to still send it out. Ordered an arrangement for a co-worker who needed a little "pick me up" surprise early this morning to be delivered to our office. Unfortunately she had to go home early and therefore was going to miss her surprise. I contacted Dr Delphinium and asked if there was any way to reroute the delivery to her residence vs. sending to our office. They put me on a brief hold and contacted their delivery driver and luckily they were able make the address change. Now my sweet friend will now receive her "pick me up" bouquet as planned. I've been ordering flowers from Dr. Delphinium since 2012 and have never been anything less than impressed with the results. They arrive hand-delivered, in a vase with water (no wilted boxed flowers) and always on time. The arrangements are as beautiful in person as they look online. My only suggestion when ordering is to be aware of the size before you make your purchase (when in doubt, call) - the short square glass vase arrangements are absolutely stunning, but very small for the price. read more

My husband spent $55 dollars on an arrangement that lasted for 3 days! Don't spend your money here...you can buy beautiful arrangements and fresh cut flowers at Central Market or Whole Foods for a third of the price and they last well over a week. When I contacted the Richardson shop, Monica told me that if I had taken better care of them, they would have lasted longer. Are you kidding me? My original review was one star, but after speaking with the Lovers Ln location, who, BTW, has excellent customer service, offered to deliver a new arrangement to my office. It was not busy, probably two on a monday when I entered the shop. Lots of natural light, fabulous selection, and I was greeted by a clerk, who was very informative and friendly. Spent much longer than I thought I would. The hybrid orchid selection was limited actually, but the displays offered for the other orchids are lovely. The shop is fairly well organized, there's a medium sized greenhouse with a good selection of tropical houseplants and decorations, and another one used to house the orchids. There is a fair selection of pots and several vases to choose from, and a small variety of air plants (so cute!). read more

Beautiful Beautiful Stuff Here! I went to local garden shop, and the orchid topic came up. They said,"You grow orchids? You gotta go to Gunter's!" I did get a heads-up that they're on the pricier end, and when I arrived at Gunter's I found that was right. I'm accustomed to Farmer's Market prices under $30, and there's not much of that here. BUT the selection here is just phenomenal, aromatic, with every plant in great shape. Staff is available for questions/advice as well. I did go home with my first vanilla orchid cutting, and if I can keep it alive, maybe I'll have orchid beans in a few years~ wish me luck! read more

My mother (who worked for Gunther's many years ago and always spoke of it highly) recently ordered a $65 bouquet for her friend who had just had surgery. She asked for a mixed bouquet with current flowers, but especially some bright blooms such as Gerbers. Seemed pretty foolproof. But no. The bouquet arrived as a short, non-traditional grouping of inexpensive flowers that didn't even relate colorwise to one another. Three sunflowers on one side, several purple phlox or snapdragons, and a handful of spiky green in the middle. Not pretty nor soft for the elderly lady she had stipulated it was to be for. Though the recipient was pleased with having been gifted, when my mother saw it she was appalled. Needless to say, she will NOT be dealing with Gunthers/ Dr. Delphinium in the future. Too bad too, as she could have easily bought three times the blooms and done a great job herself. read more

Before Dr Delphinum took over this business from Guenther, my husband had been taking his orchid here for 14 years, right after it finished blooming, to be trimmed and have the soil changed. Not knowing about the change in owners, he took it last year to be cared for. It had four glossy leaves and had just finished months of flowering. When we brought the orchid home, all seemed fine except that they'd left an ugly stump on it. After a few days, two leaves started to yellow and dropped off. We watered the plant--which Guenther had always done before we picked it up (orchids should be watered only every 2 weeks, in a specific way. When we called Dr Delphinium to complain, they said, oh no, we didn't water it. Yet Guenther had trained them in how to care for orchids. A year later, our plant still has two leaves but has yet to bloom again. This is a plant which, under Guenther's care, spent most of the year covered with gorgeous flowers. If you love your orchid, DO NOT PATRONIZE this business. read more
