I have been with Dr. Fain for 30 years. Since being bought by Mr Eye Dr., I have made my last visit. When I arrived at my appt., I wasn't told anything had changed. After the appt., my bill was WAY more than expected. In the past, my visits had 0 copay. This time they asked for $90 saying they weren't just using my Eye insurance but medical as well. I had a copay for Medical and wasn't told and didn't approve for them to use medical. Also, I had a "copay" for an item that was covered in the past on my separate eye insurance My eye insurance has not changed so a copay was a shock. I asked the young girl helping me and she said since changing to Mr Eye, that billing had changed and they split a treatment causing a charge. You could tell she'd had the question before and was uncomfortable answering. I knew she hadn't made the changes so I didn't go further with questions to her. I called and left a message of my concerns asking for a call back. I've heard nothing. So upsetting that using the same Dr for 30 years is over and a long term customer isn't valued. read more

This has become our family's "eye docs". Myself, wife, and eldest son have all been here in the last few months. We have always had good experiences. On the initial visit they have you fill out paperwork that they may be doing some extra test that your insurance may not cover and they will let you private pay for a discounted rate of 20. I told them that I was just there to get a script to get some glasses and would not need the test. The tech who took me back said that they really feel it is important that they run the tests and they would do it for free this time and at future annual visits I would remember and bring the extra for the tests. I am glad that they ran them-they discovered that I have macular degeneration. The Dr was very detailed in explaining the diagnosis and the precautions I would have to take to try to slow it progress down. Everyone I dealt with in the office was very nice and professional. I was very pleased with the service I received. Fast forward a month and my wife is going to an appt. to get contact lenses. She also received great service and they actually remembered me and asked the wife how I was doing and hoping I was taking the precautions we had discussed at my visit. They staff has also been very helpful trying to get my wife her rebate from the contact lens purchase. Going to see a Dr of any type is generally not a great experience, but the Drs and staff here all due their best to make you as comfortable as possible. read more

Dr. Fain has been our family eye doctor for more then five years. I drive a long way to see him but it is well worth it. Dr. Fain and the staff are excellent and very thorough! Dr. Fain has the latest and most up to date equipment which allows him to give you a good idea of the health of your eyes several years down the road! I have been having issues getting my rebate for my contacts, but Michelle has been absolutely wonderful in helping me. She event wrote a letter to why the rep said i should get the rebate even though my contacts were different types. I have a more severe astigmatism in my left eye, and just slight on the right, so she explained that to the rep. I still haven't received my rebate yet, but I am at least more hopeful due to Michelle's assistance. Thanks Michelle!!! :) read more

I go to Dr. Hall but I've had Dr. Fain before and both are super nice, professional, and very easy to get along with. Their staff on the other hand....so annoying. Very few are professional and they're very good at ignoring me it seems. Every time I call it's like I'm bothering them with my appointment or problem. I know I should look into another doctor, but since I only go once a year and love Dr. Hall I just don't. Guess I'm a masochist haha. read more

I think he is a crook. EXTREMELY pushy doctor. I had a bad experience with a lady named "Angel" she is very rude and unkind. The only person there that is worth seeing would be KEITH. Not pleased AT ALL. If you have certain insurance it is "hard" to get in for an appt. WARNING!!! BEWARE!! and GOOD LUCK if you plan to visit him. Thanks I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THE OFFICE. The doc's have such great knowledge but they lack in their management skills because the staff is never great. The sales people who sell glasses/contacts are actually really good (mainly because you are giving them money), but the staff that run the office side of things need a wake-up call. Every time I go I usually get frustrated that I want to give the doctors my business but they make it hard to come back. Whenever I try to make an appointment there is an issue, and when I do finally get an appointment I sit in the waiting area watching the same video over and over again. Ever since they moved into the new building with a much more expensive lease I have been left with a bad taste in my mouth. After this last time I get my contacts I will most likely only go their for exams and buy my glasses/contacts on line. Oh well, I guess this will only save me money right? read more

WOW!!! Love this office and it's staff. Not only are they professional, knowledgable and helpful, they also provide quality services and products. The employees are some of the hardest working people I've encountered. Dr. Hall is wonderful and very thorough. During the exam, I felt as if I were communicating with an old friend. The atmosphere is professional yet never stuffy. Everyone I encountered from start to finish was friendly, family oriented and just plain WONDERFUL! I was treated as if I were their most important client. My daughter-in-law was in town for her wedding and managed to break her glasses 2 days before the wedding. Her doctor is in ElPaso so, I took her to Dr. Hall's office, fully expecting to purchase another pair of frames. To my suprise, this wonderful staff was more than happy to help us and was able to repair her glasses. This was definately above and beyond my expectations. My glasses and contacts are great. I've already proudly recommended this office to many of my friends and family. read more

The care you recv. will be professional. However in the past, the doctor will not give you the prescription while you are in his ofc. He will tell you to wait in the lobby. If you do not choose their location for your new prescription, the ofc. staff will tell you that you must wait until they can reach him. I waited over an hour and a half. They said they would nab him as soon as he was through with the next client.------ baloney! I watched the doctor come in and out. I finally by-passed the staff and walked toward the doctor's ofc. and was stopped. I explained I was trying to get my prescription and told them I was tired of waiting. This time, I was able to get my prescription after the next patient. He is a good doctor, but I suggest you insist he gives you the prescription before you walk out of his presence. Enough of the games. In all fairness, this experience was two years ago. Hopefully, they have changed their ways. Also, I lost my prescription, and they instantly printed it out for me. read more

Good Doctors, Great Staff - A little slow on cutting lenses, but maybe they were busy, not that big of a deal. The real problem I have is with the billing. While the doctor was talking to me, she asked, if I would like to hear about information on Glaucoma. Well sure I said. Well when I went to pay, they said that since she spoke to me about Glaucoma, that some of the appointment would have to be billed to my medical instead of vision because Glaucoma is Medical and not vision... one problem.. Dr. Hall is great but the wait time here is ridiculous! I routinely have to wait more than an hour after my appointment time. Dr. Fain is too pushy so try to schedule with Dr. Hall but be prepared to wait a while! read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Dr John Fains office and was very impressed. A person who has never worn glasses a day in my life, I didnt know what to expect. I found that after many years of staring at a computer for most of my work day, it was time for computer glasses. The staff was very professional and attentive to my needs and concerns. This truly was a plus for me, as I am a huge stickler on customer service. The Dr's (both Fain and Hall) had tremendous chairside manner and helped me through this new transition. This is a terrible company. They do not care about providing great service any longer and are very unprofessional. Especially the Optical Manager. They will take your money and leave you with out any glasses and will not give you a refund. Unheard of business practices. I am sure they will begin to loose service. We have been going there for years until they started hiring new people that just do not care. I remember going there when the doctors came out and helped you pick your frames and were very personable. We would even travel 40 miles one way just to get the great service they use to have. Now I will not spend my money there. Now that they are bigger, they dont care. I would rather go to Walmart than here. Hope you do the same and go some where else. BEWARE!!! read more

I understand where the other review is coming from, but I have had several good experiences at optical gallery also. My insurance makes it an excellent place to get glasses. I did have some problems last year with contact lens prices, but now Dr Fain's office will price match! They have had days when they left me frustrated, so be patient and communicate if necessary. Dr Fain & his ENTIRE staff is great. I didnt feel rushed or hurried with my concerns about contact lens. I had worn contacts in the past & wanted to give it another try. Everything was explained to me step by step and I felt confident that even with my various eye concerns, contact lens is the BEST step for me.
