What a fantastic dental office!! I can't give enough praise to this entire office. Years of being so afraid of the dentist that i required sedation dentistry, not anymore. I came to this office with a ton of issues and lets just say was shocked when i left with my estimate in hand. It was half of what other dentists were trying to charge and they get to the root of the problem and fix it no unessary extras!! Let's just say I ESCAPED Santa Barbara! Generally, the cost of everything in this City is 3X the norm; and so it is with dentists too. Dr. Johnson was my nephew's "family dentist" for years; so we went there and found total state-of-the-art equipment (I'd never seen in Santa Barbara), super kind and friendly staff and superior doctors ... excellent procedures at affordable rates. Here's an example: Grandson Alex had a chipped front tooth that needed bonding. The price for this one tooth (bonding) was $550 in Santa Barbara! Dr. Johnson charged $100. Enough said? read more

I called this place 3 weeks ago to schedule a cleaning for me and my husband. The day of our appointment we were scheduled for 1:15pm, come to find out that they are closed from 12-1:30 pm..... like really????? We waited 3 weeks for an appointment. Its says on your door that ur closed for lunch between those times so why schedule clients within those times? Very disappointed. They didn't even call to confirm appointments. I came here a few weeks ago on a recommendation of a close friend and I am so glad I did. I had been in excruciating pain for over a week but was given bad advice from a different local dentist. Anyways, the first day that I went into Johnson and Sons, the dentist was very concerned by my pain level and very concerned and helpful. I went back the next day to have dental work done and I'm so glad I did. The Dr talked me through every step of what he was doing and was so gentle and kind. I come here about once a year for a checkup and they are always very honest. Is it possible to be too honest? They didn't even charge me for a second opinion exam! I felt guilty about it. My aunt mentioned to me that she had been having dental pain and I knew that it was much worse and going on longer than how she described it. She is someone who refuses to go see doctors until she has to. Being in Northern California I was stressed and was about to go fly or drive out so I could take her down the hill to a mandarin speaking dentist to get whatever that was hurting her fixed. I decided to see if there were any good options nearby that she could drive herself to that would be able to get her in ASAP. I came across Johnson Dentistry on Yelp and had high hopes since they had such good reviews- and on my aunts behalf, they most certainly do deserve each star possible. I called yesterday and they were able to get her an appointment the very next morning. She called me immediately after her appointment to tell me her wonderful experience. She saw Dr. Scott and loved him and every other person that helped her there. Dr. Scott was there to help her from beginning to end and took the time needed during her visit. She said everyone there was extremely welcoming, warm, and helpful. Despite not being able to help her situation, they did what they could and gave her a couple of referrals for specialists. She also doesn't have insurance and doesn't speak fluid English (though she understands more than she can speak). Even with my mom on the phone to help her translate, she still felt that this office and Dr. Scott had great communication skills and they were extremely fair and considerate with pricing for her. She was shocked at how much she had to pay. I know that this is a place that gave her peace as she trusts that she is in great care and opinion. With that, I too have peace in knowing that this is a place that she will be happy to go to now, hopefully sooner than later. Wow , I am so impressed with Dr Johnson's and sons dental , I was having some dental issues and had visited several dentists in the area , most were a bit rude and trying to charge me for unnecessary procedures , so I took a chance and booked an appointment , I got an appointment fairly quickly and had an appointment on 9-11-17 , I honestly did not wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room , was seen very quickly ,by the courteous staff. Dr Johnston was very kind ( in fact the kindest dentist I have ever meet ) he explained my options for treatment , and the prices were fair , I did not feel a thing during my procedure and the Dr was very gentle ,,,, I was so impressed with this dentist , everyone in the office was so nice and friendly ( the doctors mom even popped in and asked if the room temp was ok ) rarely nowadays do you find that level of customer service 5 big stars for Dr Johnson's & Sons dental. read more

First time here today and was amazed at the kindness shown, professionalism, a dentist that actually listened to my concerns, gave me options, did not rush through the process of fixing my tooth. After having a very bad experience with another dental group I had damaged teeth and was afraid to trust another dentist. I found Johnson Dental by way of Yelp and Facebook. It took me another couple of months to get the nerve to call. What incredible, kind, upfront professionals they are. Dr. Scott explained my options. He treated me like a human being. Wow! This dental office is wonderful the staff is so professional and very helpful. I had been seen by another dentist in Ontario and both appointments canceled due to the doctor having an emergency so an entire month went by and I was still not seen and they wanted me to wait two more weeks to reschedule. I was very frustrated because I had requested time off work to have my wisdom teeth out and decided to look elsewhere. Dr. Johnson & sons got me in the same day and retook my X-rays and removed both of my wisdom teeth on the same appointment . The doctor was so nice and he made me feel at ease and I'm usually very anxious at the dentist. I had my teeth removed with local anesthetic and I didn't feel a thing! They are honest, straightforward, and seem to know what they're doing. This is truly as good as it gets. These doctors are personable and professional. I have passed up dental insurance and pay out of pocket so that I can go there. They accept PPO plans but I haven't gotten around to look for one yet. The first dentist I saw told me I needed about $3,000.00 worth of work done. I went to see these guys as a second opinion. According to them I needed 1 filling and the rest could wait until I had issues. They are very good on the wallet and don't try to get you to do things that aren't necessary. The whole staff is pleasant. I then made an appointment for my husband and we both have given up our old dentist for this group of guys. Can't say enough good things about them. read more
