My husband and I just got back from a 4 day long ski vacation in Park City. Our condo was about 50 yards away from the Cabriolet lift, so we wanted to 1) Eat "on mountain" a few times and 2) Walk to and from where we were eating and drinking. :) *Sidebar - Utah drinking and booze laws are very unusual, so if you don't know this going into it, you will be unpleasantly surprised. Besides the Lookout Cabin (which is mid-mountain on the Canyons side of Park City) Drafts is the only place we could find that wasn't an expensive/fancy restaurant and also served mixed drinks - aka, not just beer. The Lookout Cabin also has mixed drinks, but a Bloody Mary was $13 compared to the $10 one at Drafts, so we decided to give Drafts a chance. We had a great experience at Drafts - overall the service was great (albeit a tad slow), the drinks and beer both on top and bottle were great, and the food is FANTASTIC. They have several Utah beers on tap, which we loved. We both had burgers one day, we had the wings, and we had the tatchos, all of which were delicious. Also their Bloody Mary's - I am a huge bloody fan and somewhat of a bloody snob, and the ones at Drafts tasted awesome. Particularly with a huge piece of bacon in it, which comes at no extra charge. All in all, this place is great - great location on mountain and one of the more affordable places in general. You'll love it. read more

During a stay at Canyons we went to Drafts for lunch and decided to try breakfast on the way back out of town. Lunch was mediocre; our food was cold, it was brought out at separate times, and the bread was actually hard (stale), which was disappointing as it looked like it should have tasted good. The only redeeming point to note for the lunch was the wide selection of locally brewed beers. For breakfast we figured it couldn't possibly be too hard to cook up a few eggs and oatmeal, so with not a lot of options we have it a go again. This time the experience was absolutely awful. We were one of maybe three groups of people in the restaurant, yet it took almost an hour for our food to come out. When it finally arrived, it was all cold, flavorless, and the service essentially shrugged their shoulders. After complaining to our waitress she actually said in a very sarcastic tone "yes, we love our kitchen here..." alluding to the fact that they were slow and talentless. I mentioned that even our lunch was slightly better than this and she further added "it is definitely hit and miss with the food." Just what you want to hear. The location is fantastic, so this is a real disappointment that the management can't pull it together to make the place more of a standout. I wouldn't recommend the place unless you're looking to watch a game and drink some beers. Don't expect to get great service or be impressed with the food. read more

Food was 4/5, service pretty much gets a 0, hence the 2 stars. My two friends had somewhere to be and they couldn't get bowls of chili to them within 30 minutes so they had to cancel and leave. Our burgers took 45 min and were great, but we have somewhere to be and I've now been watching the wait staff for 15 minutes to get the check. I've made eye contact with every one of them and not a single one has come by the see if I needed anything. It became almost a game to see how long it took them. Even so, no one ever came over and we had to walk up front to ask for the bill. They then came over to the guy next to us, who'd been there 10 minutes, and asked if it was him who wanted the check. My husband and I just got married on Saturday and we were celebrating our honeymoon at the canyon resort. We were hungry once we settled in. It being 10pm we went to this restaurant and had a drink and a bite to eat. I had the garlic burger, which was AMAZING! The fries were the best part!! My husband had a pizza (not knowing it was a 20" pizza) he loved it! We even had leftovers! The drinks were amazing! We even went back the next night to get drinks and sit outside. Bad service. Bad food. Avoid at all costs. We were seated fairly promptly, but it took our waitress some time to get over to us. We ordered. They brought us water in disposable cups (why?). Our food took forever and the waitress never apologized or seemed to care. The spinach salad was okay; the dressing was the consistency of honey, and the chicken was dry. My son's burger was decent. The pizza was not terrible, but not great. Everything was overpriced. The only reason people eat at this place is because they are trapped at the Canyons. Friendly enough bartender...When we could distract him from his lady friend at the end of the bar. The pizza oven was out of service when we were there. So... We had wings (they were basic boring wings, they were fine) and, unfortunately, those "famous" tatertot nachos. Salt lick. Cold on the bottom. Cheese not melted all the way. Ugh. We left essentially a whole platter. No questions asked by the bartender. It was as if he knew the food was terrible. Bartender thought we were all from out of town and laid a bunch of Utah liquor law BS on us, but two out of the six of us live in Utah so we definitely had some laughs about all that. What a joke. It wasn't overpriced from looking at the menu prices had the food been good, but it wasn't nearly worth what we paid. We stayed at the Canyons for several nights but never went back, nor will we. It took 10 minutes for our order (turkey bacon ranch wrap and beer) to arrive...on a very busy Saturday night. Fries were perfect. The wrap, soft and delicious. The hostess and waitress were prompt but quite impersonal...no jovial vibe...they don't seem to enjoy their jobs. But kudos to the kitchen! read more

My husband and I spent the holiday weekend at The Canyons Resort and had the opportunity to eat at Drafts on two different occasions. The first time was on the night of the 4th. We weren't starving but wanted to grab a quick bite to hold us over until the fireworks in Park City. My husband and I ordered the Fry-Fecta, and I had high hopes for the 3 different flavored shoestring potatoes. Unfortunately, all three flavors tasted of jalapeno, instead of 3 different flavors. They were almost too hot to eat. The bar was busy and service was really slow, so we didn't even get the opportunity to order something else. My daughter ordered the Mac and Cheese and it was great., I guess they have a daily special Mac and Cheese, but the waiter didn't know what it was that day, so he just brought our regular. The beer and wine was good though! We ordered a pizza the next night to eat our on the grass. I ordered the pizza by phone, and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes or less. I arrived to pick up the pizza in 15 minutes, and it was ready right on time. The bartender asked if we needed napkins and wax paper to use as plates and was very helpful. We just order a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and didn't really have an expectations. You can't really go wrong with such a normal choice! Anyway, the pizza was really, really good! The crust was thin and cooked perfectly! Even though the pizza was so basic, it tasted FABULOUS! The flavor was great! I would order this pizza again, in a heartbeat! Okay, I'll admit, I am not a fan of the Canyons Resort (something about the layout, and it just doesn't compare to the other two PC area resorts). But Drafts was so much fun we might have to head back over to Canyons just to eat here! This is a pretty typical sports bar at a ski area base, but the food was great, and the beer selection is terrific! And the setting is very nice, with a great outdoor patio, and big picture windows so you can enjoy the mountain view from every seat. But enough about the setting, you go here for the food! We started with the deep fried pickles (I know, sounds gross, but just try it with a cold beer!). Very nice, not overly greasy, and a tasty batter. Then everyone tried various burgers. All were excellent, well cooked on hearty buns, with great toppings (I went for the one with ham, fried egg, and tater tots ... crazy). And all came with a great side of truffle fries (even my 7 year old couldn't get enough of the truffle fries, and that's saying something for a young boy!). Great selection of beers, both on bottle and on tap, including a reasonably wide selection of local Utah favorites. read more

Seated immediately on the outside patio. Hostess said, "don't worry, it's heated". There were great heaters as long at the door was closed which wasn't often in the hour I was there. The real feel temperature was -9, so keeping the heat inside was important to my dining experience. The door was left ajar at least 12 to 15 times and I got up at least 6 times to close it. Even the manager left it ajar. I went inside to tell the manager of the issue and he knew that the automatic door closer wasn't working properly, but didn't apologize in any way. Food came out lukewarm... we ordered soups chili and clam chowder and usually soups come out pretty piping hot but these ones did not. I didn't even need to blow air on it to cool it down. considering the weather out here, you expect the food to warm you up... guess they aren't thinking about that. jalapeño fried Mac and cheese was so so. a little overwhelming on the sauce. wings were ok. not greasy but again also not hot when it came out. my friends burger was ok he says and the pizza, we ordered pizza and after we already chowed down the wings, soups and etc I had to ask if it was coming out? apparently they forgot because its coming out soon but it's being upgraded to the "larger" size? umm did the pizza grow that much in the oven? service is slow. it's past 10 here on a Friday night. this place is not packed so I don't understand how it's so slow? and I think the servers here are high or something, they clearly are not paying attention to the plates they are about to clear. overall it's below average. food is so so but we really didn't have much a choice tonight.... read more

This restaurant is really leaving a lot of money on the table. It took us 2 hours to order 3 regular burger orders, get our food and check, and leave. Other tables around us were also waiting a long time. They could easily do 50% more business if they could make their kitchen more efficient and turnover tables roughly every hour vs every 2 hours. People could linger if they like but I'm sure many of their customers (by reading the low reviews) would rather not be there for 2 hours. The food itself was ok--not exceptional. IDK why the crappy reviews, we are here after a day on the slopes and it couldn't have been better. Wings were spot-on. Burger was huge. Even salads for the girls were fresh and large. Service was fine, atmosphere was fun casual sports bar. Only disappointments were the sweet potato fries (served with sugar and cinnamon- weird - like a churro) and too full for one of the crazy shakes for dessert. Three stars now, could be four going forward. Burgers are four star now. Only small things are holding Drafts back. For example, the excellent burgers are served on a small cutting board, nothing really wrong with this except the grease and other run off ends up leaking out on to the table for you to put your arm in. The other problem was service. More than 10 minutes past and no sign of a server. The hostess to her credit realized this and brought water, soon followed by the server. Points to the hostess! Once the server was on the case things ran fine except for the usual Utah trait of trying to clear the table while someone is still eating! These minor rants aside, the menu allows you to create your burger using several different buns or no bun at all, followed by the protein with a choice of beef, buffalo, chicken or tuna, then on to various toppings. Nice concept. Burgers were cooked as ordered (rare and medium rare) another strong plus. Other items on the menu include pizza, soups and so on. Did not try these but the pizza looked really good, we plan to return following the holidays to check this out. Park City is weak in the pizza department so a place to grab a good pie would be great! Plenty of beers to choose from, at least 10 on tap (I did not really count, could be more) and many bottled to further muddy the choice or rise to the challenge of trying them all! Looks like outdoor seating is coming soon. Overall a good addition to the Canyons base area, a little work on the details and will be a big hit. read more

In town for a conference [off season] and stood in to grab lunch. Nice draft selection and basics for food ... tried the Canyons Sunrise burger and must say it was quite tasty. Bartender was knowledgeable of what we on draft and they have a decent bottle selection as well. They seem to be fans of Shipyard which is fine by me. read more

I took a friend from out of town to Drafts for lunch and beers, but unfortunately I can't comment on the food or drinks because we never got service. We were the only ones seated at the bar on a slow Tuesday, around 1145 just wanting some lunch and a few beers. The bartender (mid-aged shaved head type) never even acknowledged us, even though we were right in front of him. No "hello" or "be right with you", just plainly ignoring us as he removed and replaced things in his coolers. After about 15 minutes we left and ate somewhere else. Not poor service, but abismal service. This is the kind of thing that makes us locals avoid the ski base areas and tell all of our guests to as well. read more

After 10 minutes I actually had to go to the bar and get our waters, only then did we get service. The servers and bartenders are very friendly but not well trained. Stopped by here on our first day at Canyons Village for a late lunch. The service was AWFUL. First, they "forgot" for 20mins to tell us that the appetizers we ordered was sold out. Second, they "forgot" for 10mins to tell us one of the drinks we order was sold out. Third, they brought 2 of our 4 plates then waited about 20mins to bring the other 2 plates. The restaurant was not busy nor did the manager field compelled to correct the multiple errors of the staff. Food was okay, service was awful and the cost was outrageous. I'm giving this a 3 because the staff is very polite and accommodating. While the burgers aren't bad and the tator tots are good, the wings and salad were incredibly lacking. Our "extra crispy" wings came out before our salad with minimal crisp. Our "baby greens" salad was simply romaine. We overheard other customers complaining to the wait staff also. We were super excited to eat here! Have you seen the picture of their Tachos? A twist on nachos and Tator tots. They did not disappoint! What did disappoint was the service. We were seated fairly quickly and the hostess was welcoming. But after being seated it felt forever before we were greeted by a server, probably was at least 15 minutes. Cocktails took another 15 minutes. The server himself was polite and apologetic from the get go of coming over and telling us he was sorry for the wait. But Service never got better. We also didn't care for the all the dirty cups the servers stacked on the side of the bar....?!?! Why? And then they would sit food orders next to the dirty dishes. Gross!! Glad I wasn't eating at the bar. The food we ordered was good but we will not be returning. So if you want good food and semi good service this is the place to go. read more
