Found this gem by our hotel. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Food was reasonably priced and soooo delicious! I've been craving Vietnamese, but my husband doesn't care for it. I love this place because the owners are friendly and great to talk to, on top of the food being so good. It's all tasty, fresh and portions are a great value for the price. When I have a bad day I like to get the Pho Ga as a pick me up because it has tons of sprouts, crisp jalapeños and lime. I called to order some vietnamese rolls. The guy that I talked too told me that 30 pcs is $25.00 and 50 pcs is $40.00. So I ordered the 30pcs and when I came in to picked up my order the guy told the cashier that I have to pay $35.00. I was like wait when I called the guy that I've talked too told me that 30pcs was $25bucks. So I've waited I think they talked in the kitchen and trying to decide for the price until they said it was ok. but I'm like it was not ok because I was told that it's $25 bucks and then i got charged of course for the taxes too which came out as almost $28.00 bucks..I think they're a ripped off..On their menu 6pcs is only 3.25. Went down to another Vietnamese restaurant on Broadway ( Pho Vign) and arrived at 8:50 p.m. and was served a fantastc meal without an issue. My new place to go. read more

Worst place to go to, limited menu, the pho tastes like the noodles just came out of the box, so did the sweet and sour sauce in the sweet and sour tofu. There was chicken skin floating in my pho and lots of veins and dark meat. I felt sick after I ate. Spring rolls sitting in seran wrap out by the register, for sale, for who knows how long in this hot weather. Not to mention the weird, bad art on all of the walls. I order a plate to go with two sides the chicken curry was Broad the rice was mushy and the noodles were old .. I go back to let the owner know about the rock chicken and he starts looking at me like it's my fault he said they they've been there for a very long time and never had anybody complain .. will never be eating here again first and last read more

I have been coming to this place for years the husband and wife who own are very nice and the pho is the best I have had in chula Vista ... also try there Chinese food .... the cury chicken is awesome .... This review is based on only the wonton soup- I haven't tried anything else yet. This soup is incredible! I ordered it with noodles to go and it comes as a HUGE container of broth and a separate to go container of noodles, wontons, onions and pork. There's also a separate packet of fresh Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños and lime. A great bargain for a ton of DELICIOUS food! Yum! I found my new go-to place. I have never written a review like this - I have never had food like this. I recently ordered take out - and was really surprise at the terrible quality of the food, especially after reading all these five star reviews. We ordered three dished, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Beef w Snow Peas and Lemon Grass Chicken. All three dishes were flavorless. There was no flavor difference in taste between any of the dishes. The Lemon Grass Chicken was bright orange, I presume from the curry, but there was no curry taste and it was dry like cardboard. Sad to say we all took a taste of the food and threw it out. Yes it was that bad. We will never return. Sad There are two other Chinese restaurants in Chula Vista that have high ratings on Yelp and they both are far better quality food. This place is excellent! Very friendly staff and they give you A LOT of food for the money! Always tastes fresh....not like it's been setting out all day like some buffet Chinese food. Although the business coming in seems to be for take out, it still had a very big dining area and it was nice and clean. Close to the Marinas on the bay so I loved picking up food here and taking it back to the boat! Always left overs for later. Live this place!! read more

Struck oil again! Dragon Express earned zingers for their House Lo Mein & Banh Mi sandwiches. A month ago, I ordered the lo mein and an order of "pork rolls". The lo mein tasted like kerosene. It's believed they were stir-fried in very old, rancid oil. It's assumed the meats were cooked in another wok as they didn't carry that nasty taste. The lo mein was totally inedible and trashed (I should have kept 'em for candle wicks). On two other occasions, a banh mi sandwich was ordered without jalapeno peppers. Both times, while no peppers were visible in the sandwich (I even peeked under the cilantro and the daikon/carrot pickle...no peppers), it tasted very three-alarm hot. It's assumed the jalapenos were probably placed in the sandwich as usual, but were pulled out at the last minute (never, ever a good idea). As mentioned before, I'm a long time customer & tried the delicious pho and other dishes without a problem but, for the time being, will avoid the House Lo Mein and the Banh Mi (or should I say "Why Mi"?) sandwiches. I have tried MANY Pho places. I even work in Convoy where there is a barrage of them at every turn. This is still hands down the best Pho place there is. It's small, but the people there are very nice and honestly you cannot go wrong in trying their Pho. read more

So, first and foremost don't let the outside of this place or its location fool you. The staff is super nice and the food is excellent. I had the Pho and egg rolls. The egg rolls were crispy and super fresh (make sure u let them cool first!), and the Pho itself was delicious. The broth was so good that I didn't leave any left! I don't know what they do, but don't change a thing! Can't wait to go back. I can see myself returning here at least twice a month for the Pho alone. OH! I read the reviews and was excited to try this place. I just recently had an operation and couldn't drive so looking for a pho place that delivered wasn't easy. So I tried them out. Ordered Broccoli and Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Eggrolls and Chicken Pho. I paid $8 deliver which is absurd cause I was only 3.5 miles away. But again I wanted Pho and couldn't drive to my normal place. The Broccoli and Chicken was good as were the Eggrolls. The Fried Rice was very tasteless. Not much flavor at all....we had to season it all. And the Pho....the one thing I was craving was soooo oily! You could see the oil sitting in the broth. When you took a spoonful you could feel the oil sitting on your lips. It was horrible!!! I ended up throwing it away. Not worth the $38 I paid at all. I will stick with my normal Pho place in the future. They only get 3 stars for the Broccoli and Chicken and the Eggrolls. I doubt I will revisit this place in the future. read more

Yumm! Really good pho and chicken broth. Their chicken curry and fried rice are real good too. There are other pho places close to where we live but we will make the trip to get our pho fix. Ask for extra tendons if you're ordering the pho combo. You ca also ask to add vegetables in the chicken soup. read more
