A quick Yelp search revealed Dragon Tea a few blocks away from me, so off I went. The store itself is pretty small, but there are a few seats available if you prefer to dine in. Additionally, the interior is clean, well-lit and inviting. Arrived during an off time, so my order was prepared pretty quickly. Ordered my usual go-to drink, Passion Fruit Jasmine Green Tea w/ boba. The juice and tea was very refreshing and definitely cooled me down (albeit briefly) from the relentless heat. And I enjoyed the boba and fresh passion fruit seeds as well. I typically don't review bubble tea places because I just get taro slushies everywhere I go and have no real authority, but the customer service at Dragon Tea was excellent! I dropped by on a Wednesday evening since I had business in the area. The shop is tiny and only seats two people, with standing room for two more people. I originally got a taro slushie ($8.50). After handing me my drink, the cashier told me that I could try the drink, and if I didn't like it, they would make me another drink at no additional cost. Now, the taro slushie is one of the more expensive things on the menu, but I appreciated the gesture. Since they are using real taro and not a mix, the slushie really had no flavor. I was grateful they let me switch to a mango milk foam ($8.06). The slush consistency uses fine ice, and I enjoy that. The mango had some floral notes in it, which is not my preference, but it was fine. The boba was slightly hard in the center, but was otherwise chewy and sweet. This past week I decided to switch it up and try the Taro Fresh Milk. Big mistake. I did not enjoy that at all. The boba is very sweet, but it's overly chewy and almost tastes stale, even for someone like me who prefers harder boba. I got the lemon jasmine tea. It was mostly a strong lemon juice flavor, with only a mild tea flavor. You can customize both your sugar level and ice level which is great. The interior is very small, and was pretty dirty when we stopped by around 3pm. There are two barstools on one side at a narrow standing bar on the wall, but otherwise this is definitely a grab-and-go location. There was only one person working behind the counter but the service was still incredibly quick. The tea cost was $5.50 plus $0.75 for boba. Solid boba cafe in an area that is pretty barren in terms of boba spots. It's on my usual walk to/from the PATH to my office and I finally decided to step in for an afternoon pick-me-up on a Thursday. Wait was a little bit as they were fulfilling a large order before me, but my drink came out quickly once I ordered. They have a large variation of sugar and ice levels, so that's a plus.
