We stopped by Uluhuluh to kill some time while we were waiting to get off a really long waitlist at a restaurant nearby. The interior is tiny and definitely meant to be a grab-and-go spot. There isn't a traditional counter, so we ordered everything through a digital screen. The three of us shared the SUNNY SIDE UP MATCHA LATTE with 30% sugar, which hit the perfect "not too sweet" mark. It's a pretty milk-heavy matcha, and I personally would've preferred a stronger matcha flavor. The little "egg" on top (looked like whipped cream and topped with a dollop of passionfruit syrup) is cute for Instagram, but felt a bit more gimmicky than drink-enhancing. read more

Not sure why this place is so poorly reviewed -- though I agree that the drinks are on the pricier end and not really worth it, the souffle pancakes were so good! Very cute spot to grab small bites with a friend and catch up, I would definitely recommend sitting in rather than grabbing a drink to go. I was thrifting in the area and was craving a sweet treat, so I stopped by this place n The set up caught my eye as it had more of a kiosk set up with some tables set up inside a plastic booth. I tried the Rose Lychee latte which was honestly so delicious! They had a variety of unique drinks and I appreciate seeing that they offered lactaid milk as a lactose intolerant person. Located near St Marks, Uluhuluh is boba shop with a restaurant (Little Uluh) in the back. If you sit down at their restaurant, then there's an order minimum that you must meet for each person ($15pp). Service here is good. The interior is also spacious and there's plenty of seating. The drinks here were good but definitely way too sweet for me (and I don't think I would get it again). Also, they were on the pricy side and I was a bit underwhelmed (although the presentation was pretty!). read more

I thought these were two solid matcha drinks! The Sunny Side Up Matcha did not taste too milky and had a hint of passion fruit which actually worked with the drink as a whole. The Jasmine Matcha was my favorite because the jasmine tea flavor was very strong. Lots of cafes/drink places have not-so-strong tea that is overshadowed by sweetener but this was not the case at all. read more

Cute boba shop located right next to their restaurant on 14th st by the L train! Had a cute menu with new bubble tea fruit tea / milk tea flavors I've never seen before. Ended up getting the brown sugar matcha with boba and it was alright at best. The drink still had some matcha clusters on the bottom so it wasn't whisked well. The matcha tasted somewhat watery and wasn't the best quality. I'd come back if if was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Overall a 7/10 read more

The main thing they advertise on social media are these cute little egg decorations probably made out of cheese foam and jelly? They honestly do nothing for me other than looking cute, and that's not much but it's honest work. I got the matcha latte but received the brown sugar matcha latte, which is fine but it was slightly wrong. This drink overall was better than I thought it would be! The boba was surprisingly strong and had a good old honey flavor inside them, but some of the bobas were harder than others and hurt the teeth. I also tried the Rose Lychee on a second visit, which came with cheese foam on top. This drink was definitely very pretty, but let's get into that price because no matter how good or pretty these are, they are simply not worth over $9. I finished the Rose Lychee in like five sips because the ice was so abundant and there was just not enough liquid in here to justify paying this price. Definitely a huge drawback. My friend enjoyed her Pearl Rice Juice, which is not a drink I've seen anywhere else. She thought it was super refreshing though! read more

Had really yummy tea here on a weekday night around 4:15! The menu had several yummy-sounding options without being too overwhelming. My friend and I also split the fluffy strawberry pancakes. I had not tried them before so I don't know how they compare to others, but they really were fluffy and the strawberry flavor paired well with the pancakes. The interior seems to be recently renovated. I would describe this place as "cozy", but it has a calming, clean atmosphere. The service was quick and pleasant. It has certainly got everyone's attention and captivated a lot of social media browsers to come by to see what it's all about. Uluhuluh Items ordered: Sunnyside matcha latte Bubble Milk Tea Uluhu Souffle pancake Taro Soup For the sunnyside one, you have the choice between a latte with coffee or a matcha. I don't drink coffee and am not crazy about Matcha. I tried to switch the matcha for another tea, but they wouldn't let me. So i settled for matcha. The sunnyside matcha latte: It didn't have too much of that grassy flavor i've come to expect of matcha thankfully, it had a texture similar to that of a milk shake. Surprisingly it was really good. Of all the things I ordered, this was my fav. Bubble tea: it was wayyyyy too sweet, thought i was gonna go into hyperglycemic shock. Make sure you order with less sugar if possible. Souffle Pancake: WAY bigger than any other souffle pancakes I have had, the texture was only ok. Tbh it reminded me more of a regular pancake than a souffle one. Particularly in the airy/texture aspect. It wasn't as airy or creamy as others i have had. Overall it was only ok. Not that great but not awful. Taro soup: Half the bowl was empty, the soup that was there was boring as hell. They did a better job on the toasted bread. You NEED to dip the bread in it because the soup is not good enough on it's own. Overall Complete Waste of money. Overall: it's an instagram place, good presentation/aesthetic/picture, but no substance/not really good food. Not coming back to. read more

One is a take-out bubble tea shop, while the other is a dine-in café/restaurant that serves bubble tea along with a variety of delicious foods, including chicken sandwiches and soufflé pancakes. I highly recommend the "sunny side up" drinks, available in matcha or coffee. What makes them unique is the egg on top, which adds an interesting twist when mixed into the drink. read more

Have you ever walked into a private lounge at the airport? where the lights are nicely dimmed and the temperature is just right? That feeling of exclusivity? Unlike those lounges where they turn you away because you aren't a member, Uluhuluh invites you in for delicious foods and beverages. Highly suggest dining in for the comforting and executive ambiance. After being greeted by the soft-spoken and helpful waiter, they'll guide you to your table. Here you'll see beautiful wood furniture, plants, and purposeful lighting. For their beverages, I got their signature sunny side up latte which was delicious and it came with a cute little cream in the shape of an egg as seen in the photo. Lastly, I came in for dining really because I saw that they served Japanese Souffle Pancakes. Be mindful though. On their menu, they have Japanese Pancakes and Souffle Pancakes which can be confusing. If you want that fluffy and tall pancake then order from the souffle pancake list. The pancake itself is great. Super fluffy, tall, and best of all jiggly. I ordered their strawberry one and I will say the strawberry syrup is a little salty for my liking which really took away from the sweetness of the strawberry but that's just my preference. The mint was really fresh though. It may just be a garnish, but to me, it makes a difference in the bite with it in. Overall, I was very pleased in my experience here. The Latte was cute and delicious and it's just nice to know another place is offering souffle pancakes. read more

Experience here was a 4.5/5. This is a restaurant with a small window at the front serving boba and I only got the boba from here. There were two kiosks right by the door for you to order and I got the brown sugar boba milk with dalgona. The bubble itself was probably the best bubble I've ever had in NYC. They were slightly sweetened and the texture was cooked to perfection. I actually didn't mean to order it with dalgona and it was a mistake but I still enjoyed it. The coffee flavor in the dalgona was VERY strong but I don't think there's too much caffeine in it. I also wish they added a lid to the drink. It was a bit difficult to take it to go especially when it is slightly overfilled. Boba here was pretty expensive and the cheapest drink was $7. It's a nice treat once in a while but probably won't come here very often. read more

I got the sunny side egg matcha with brown sugar tapioca and my friend got the brown sugar boba with dolgona and we both got it with 100% sugar. I would say the sugar level is less than other places at 100% sugar. The dolgona is not added sugar and only coffee which is why it was bitter. At the new boba shop in East Village and decided to give it a try. Here is a tea and boba shop that offers a wide variety of cute drinks. You can order drinks to go in the front counter. However, if you want to sit down, you must order food. We ordered truffle fries and some drinks. The drinks looked cute but the sugar level seems lower than other places. We got the drinks with regular sweetness but it didn't have much taste to it. read more

They have a boba shop up front and restaurant in the back. And they do not ALLOW you to use the restroom if you are not seat and dine, even when the restaurant is not busy at all (90% empty table). If you want to be treated like a homeless person, you should come here for their boba. read more

The interior itself is antique, quaint, and there's minimal (but some!) seating for you to enjoy your tea at. One of my favorite parts of this shop is that their tea menu is all around the shop, right on their walls. So, you walk around the shop, look at the different teas (organized by type, caffinated/non-caffinated), smell them, and read the labels. I had a lot of fun doing this! Their prices are good and their teas are amazing. Definitely a cool experience!

Never heard of tongmu lapsang but Google says it's a type of smoked black tea from China. The drink had notes of hazelnut in it. I never had a nutty, chocolatey tea flavor combo before so it was refreshing to taste.

The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I ordered an iced matcha einspanner ($6.95) with oat milk ($0.75) and loved that it already comes with a shot of espresso, so it was essentially a dirty matcha einspanner. I tried each layer on its own before mixing everything together and it was all really good. The matcha cream is the right amount of sweet and creamy and you can taste the matcha with just a hint of coffee. Since I'm a coffee fiend I added a bit more espresso when I got back to the hotel and it tasted even better while still keeping the matcha as the dominant flavor. Next time I would ask for less ice since it was freezing that morning, but on a warmer day the ice level would be perfect. Would love to come back to try their other drinks or order the einspanner again as a hot drink.

All the flavors were so yummy! The outside of the pastry was crunchy and delicious. The inside was soft, creamy and melted in your mouth. There are coffee and tea items to order and other merch. Inside of the cafe was quaint and quite busy. There are tables and chairs with fun decor. The Llama is very cute. I will return to try other pastries.

I probably never leave reviews in general, especially negative ones, but this experience was so…read moreegregious that I honestly felt like I had to say something. I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
