At Sky Dragon Restaurant (where my wife and I stopped in for their lunch special), I did something unforgivable. Something scandalous. Something so deliciously wrong it felt right: I ate my wife's entire eggroll. Yes, I swore I'd only take half. Just a polite nibble, a respectful sample, the kind of marital sharing that earns you points in the long game. But then the eggroll crackled, whispered sweet nothings, and before I knew it... it was gone. Vanished. Devoured. I betrayed my vows of "in sickness, in health, and in splitting appetizers evenly." But can you blame me? Sky Dragon's food is dangerously good. My Cashew Chicken was a culinary power ballad: tender chicken, crunchy cashews, and sauce so smooth Barry White could've sung it. The crab puff? A fried golden treasure chest filled with cream-cheese glory--like winning the lottery but tastier. The Egg Flower Soup was so comforting it should come with a blanket and a bedtime story. Meanwhile, my wife's Chicken with Vegetables looked like a scene from a kung fu movie where broccoli and carrots fight crime--colorful, crisp, heroic. She took home half of her meal and she watched me annihilate her eggroll like Godzilla on downtown Tokyo. Portions? Perfect. Flavors? Legendary. Regrets? Only that I didn't order a second eggroll before my marriage lawyer finds out. Final Verdict: Sky Dragon deserves 5 stars, a standing ovation, and maybe a Nobel Prize in Fried Foods. Started with new dim sum offerings. The usual pork bun, shrimp har gow and pork siu mai. Pork bun not steamed enough, pork siu mai almost raw. Har gow bland. The main courses - beef with veg, "happy family", fish with black bean and asparagus, and oxtails. Will say flavors on all were good. Portions on the smaller side. And so that makes the dishes expensive for what we got. Full entrees do NOT include rice, so we ordered that and a refill at $5/per. Lastly - we were the only table in the restaurant at 4pm, so I don't find any justification for have a surly waitress. Will we return? Doubtful. $145 (without tip) for 4 of us. read more

Solid lunch special but I don't think I would rush back for anything else. A friend and I were hungry after the gym and we thought few things sounded better than a Chinese feast at an affordable rate. Although the food wasn't outstanding, we certainly got what we came for. Soup, rice, two crab puffs/egg roll, and an entree for around $10 is a great deal. The host was friendly and everyone was seated and served very quickly. We shared two entrees - the Kung Pao Chicken and a General Tao's Chicken. Both came out piping hot and had decent flavor, but wasn't as impressive as we'd hoped for. One person working during lunch hour do took awhile to be served. Had to ask for water. Now for the food. Had the shrimp lo mein lunch special which came with either egg flower soup or hot and sour soup, egg roll or crab puff. The egg flower soup was Luke warm and disgusting. The lo mein was just so so and the egg roll had no taste whatsoever. Whatever sauce they served was extremely sweet. I would not go back. read more

New to the area. This is semi near my home. Decided to give it a try. very good regular American "Chinese food." Ie. my mom would love this. Not very spicy, yet flavorful. I will definitely compliment the chef as to the meat, both the Sesame Beef & the General Tso's Chicken were perfectly crispy. Lightly coated in what I assume is corn starch, it's impeccable and delicious. The inside was ok. very regular, decor. Live sports on tv, A+. Nothing worse then when an old episode of Matlock or Cheers in on tv. As for the service. Nice and quick. Very friendly. I will say the menu did have traditional Chinese that is offered. We didn't eat it bc hubby is a spice/"weird food" phobe. But the chicken feet look delicious. Will come back. Less a star bc you have to pay a dollar per small cup of rice. Horrible, Rancid Food not fit for safe consumption. Don't eat it please go somewhere else, anywhere else. Never had peas in egg drop soup. The wonton was rancid and un eatable. When we said something about it the girl argued with us. Service was argumentative and unexpected. I will never go back there again. Just lousy! No stars at all. read more

My husband and I ate there today. The food was OK. While I was eating my eggroll I felt something weird when i was chewing and when I took it out of my mouth to look at it it was a small metal wire mangled . I told the waitress and she apologized but that was it. No apology from the Chef. My husband had chicken and vegetables with a couple good sized pieces of cook chicken skin.....gross!!! This was an absolutely awesome experience! We had the combo appetizer, egg drop soup, and 3 mushroom ribeye plate and custard dumplings for dessert. The service was quick and courteous and the atmosphere was nice also. On a personal note, I didn't care too much for the egg roll in the combo appetizer (it tasted a little "meh", to me), but the sweet/sour dipping sauce solved that. And the egg drop soup tasted a little different than what I'm used to, but was otherwise fine. We'll definitely be going back the next time we're in the area! read more

What I tried: General Tso's Chicken - No peanuts, but it tasted like there was a hint of them in the sauce? That was pretty neat, I enjoyed it Beef & Broccoli - The meat was unbelievably tender! It was seared just right! Not mind blowing or anything, but just good. They really do seem to nickel and dime you though. No dinner combos or anything. They charge you extra for *rice*. Overall you start to realize this is mad overpriced compared to other tasty spots around town. So it's adequate, but I'm not exactly clamoring to come back. read more

They had done dishes I haven't found at other Chinese restaurants. I ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice and the pork short ribs with black bean sauce chow fun . The fried rice was dry but had plenty of salted fish and pieces of chicken. The chow fun was better with plenty of flat noodles and pieces of pork, I had to eat it carefully because of the bones. This is some of the best Chinese food I've had. Besides great service, the menu is really extensive, with some things you don't normally see in an affordable Chinese restaurant. The ambience is quite nice. Definitely a good spot for a casual date night. But back to the food...I haven't had a bad dish there yet. I'll need to try this place again and get a more traditionally Chinese dish. I ordered a Kung Pao shrimp and got a Kung Pao chicken. Initially, the woman who took the order said me me Kung Pao chicken. I said no, Kung Pao shrimp please and repeated it before I hung up. I received a Kung Pao chicken after asking when I got there. I should have checked. They did offer a credit for me at time after I called them when I got the wrong order. The Kung Pao chicken wasn't anything special, but it was pretty standard American Chinese food. My co-worker said this place is great, but get their traditional dishes. Friend and I have debated this review for a few weeks. We vacillated between one and two stars. We had been to Med Cuisine a few weeks before and saw Sky Dragon across the parking lot and thought we'd give it a try. We walked in and the place was empty. The room was slightly dark but looked clean. We were seated right away by a nice woman. We sat and talked without looking at the menu for awhile and the waitress checked back a few times and then left us to talk. We eventually ordered; I ordered Mongolian Chicken and friend ordered Kung Poa Shrimp. The food came with soups and an egg rolls. The soup was delicious and nicely spiced. The egg roll was good as well. Then came the entrees. I have never tasted Mongolian Chicken that tasted the way this Mongolian Chicken tasted. It had an odd flavor and I ended up,eating about half of it and gave up. Friend said her Kung Pao Shrimp tasted like nothing she had ever had. She didn't finish her meal either. I don't think I've ever (or rarely) left food on my plate. If I haven't finished a meal, I take the leftovers home. I didn't finish this Chicken, nor did I take it home. This is a great place for those who like traditional Chinese dishes. I ordered the Lion Balls, which are basically giant wontons without the wrapping. They look like meatballs, and are less dense than traditional dumpling filling. The staff are friendly and attentive. Service was fast. The dishes are moderately priced, and there are many options for vegetarians and picky eaters. The restaurant was fairly quiet on a Friday night. I saw a lot of take out orders being picked up. So my wife and I craved some hot and sour soup today our normal place, fat man kitchen, for some reason was closed, and I remembered sky, dragon being close to where we live so went in and asked for a menu and looked at the large hot and sour soup in their menu at 999 fine order it let me have two I said when she rang me up, she marked it at 10:99. I didn't think much about it, but as I waited for them to package the soup to go I asked her when she came back with the soup. Can I see the menu once again not a big deal I said, but I'm wondering why you charged me 1099 each when the menu showed 999 unbelievable is she answered oh that's a to go price i've never heard a to go price if it's in the menu also their chili oil that I requested was an extra $.50 each so now my thing is why don't you have a carryout menu price? Came here for a lunch. Good enough lunch menu, many choices which come with you choice of vegetable egg roll or 2 crab puffs, flower egg soup or hot and sour soup, and steamed or fried rice. I choose the kung pao shrimp, my wife the beef and brocoli, and my daughter the lemon chicken. They seemed satisfied with their soup and egg roll. My crab puffs were neither the worst nor the best I've ever had and my hot and sour soup had way too much vinegar in it. I didn't finish it. That must have been a first. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. There were little squares of bamboo shoots in it as well as some onion and some green pepper with the emphasis on "some." There were maybe two pieces of carrot. Tons of celery as shown in my photo. I hate it when Chinese restaurants use celery, a cheap filler with no taste. the fried rice was just fried in something to give it flavor because there was nothing in it, no egg, no veggies, no meat. My wife's beef and broccoli was very good. The meat was tender, the broccoli cooked to perfection. My daughter's lemon chicken was average. Their menu is extensive. Many, many choices. You can also create your own vegetable stir fry ,choosing your veggies and one of four sauces. Overall, their prices are a little more than most Chinese restaurants. We had a free dessert ($2.50 value) for checking in with Yelp. We got the fried Mantou. These are basically donut type desserts, more dense than a donut. They come four to a plate with condensed milk drizzled on. They're OK. I wouldn't order them next time. This place, based on what I had, is not better than China Szechwan. China Szechwan's lunch is cheaper. Also China Szechwan does not use celery in their dishes. I still would recommend you try this place out and see how you like it. read more

Our first time ordering here, we got the XO seafood fried rice (delicious!), and egg foo young (yummy), with eggrolls (meh.) We were so excited - maybe we finally had a good Chinese restaurant in town! Maybe? Tonight we ordered the scallion ginger chicken, the egg foo young, northern style vegetables, scallion cake and eggrolls. The egg foo young was yummy, and the sauce for the chicken was amazing. The rest of the meal was practically inedible: the chicken was raw in the middle, the scallion cake was completely soaked through and dripping grease. The vegetables were mainly carrots and those little canned mushrooms. (Although the sauce was good.) In a city the size of Tucson and with the University here, I just cannot understand why do we not have an outstanding Chinese restaurant. Just one. read more

Sky Dragon offers a large selection of dishes in both Cantonese and Szechuan style. Prices are a bit on the high side compared to other similar Chinese restaurants. The food, unfortunately, is only so so - neither terrible nor anything to write home about. We ordered the appetizer combo. It was ok. Just the normal selection of mostly deep fried tidbits and a little bbq pork. The hot & sour soup was strangely sweet and sour, missing the hot altogether. My wife's Lemon Chicken consisted of hard dried out utility bits of deep fried chicken topped with a sickly sweet and a little bit lemony sauce. Although the menu did not have it marked as very spicy, my Curry Beef Brisket Hot Pot had me gulping down my iced tea to douse the fire. I normally enjoy a good bit of heat but this was ridiculous. I must add that the brisket was like butter. I just wish I could have enjoyed it more. My son and I went here on a whim and couldn't have been more pleased. The food was excellent. My son had his usual loe mein and nearly ate the generously portioned plate himself. He also branched out to try my excellent Chilean sea bass, which was a surprise because he normally won't touch sea food. He said it was his favorite fish and I am inclined to agree with him. My experience eating Chinese food in Tucson has always been hit or miss. Thankfully, this place has been more of a hit. Over the past couple of months, I have gotten food from this location several times, ordering takeout a few times, and dining in a few times. The food here is generally good. I like to eat their tofu lo mein with extra broccoli, and crab rangoon. I have also tried their orange chicken and their egg drop soup, which were also good. They are very consistent for the most part, though I have sometimes noticed that the food can be too greasy at times, especially when ordering later in the evening. The customer service here is always great. They are very friendly, and do a great job refilling our drinks and making suggestions when asked. So far I would say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in town. read more

So don't replace my stuff, just let Me give you a bad review because that must be better. I feel like it can be quite hard to find a decent Chinese restaurant in this massive land that is america, what with the popular choice of panda express always being an option. I'm happy to say that this place was very good and I'm glad we travelled out of our way to get there. We had an assortment of dishes, I chose the bbq duck fried rice and chili beef which were both delicious. I've never been to china, but it definitely reminded me of a good takeaway place I used to go in England. I would have given the place 5 stars, but have to take one star away due to it being incredibly cold inside. I know Tucson is quite warm but it really was chilly in there. And also our food came out very rushed. We had into just started eating our mixed appetiser when all our of main courses arrived. Very friendly staff and happy to have dined here. read more

Absolutely love this place. In fact, this may be both my new obsession and my new favorite Chinese sit down in Tucson. My husband and I were so excited that this opened near us, so we rushed over to get some food. Appetizers ordered included the crab puffs, which are to die for. Full of filling. Delicious sweet and sour to come with them. Also ordered the fried pot-stickers and they were yummy. The sauce that comes with them could be used as its own drink (really, I drank some it was so good). We also ordered sesame chicken, which was on point. Thin strips of chicken and they were crispy and covered in delectable sauce. Mongolian beef was good, and comes with all of the fixings. I also ordered the lemon chicken, which is different depending on where you go. Here, they make it right--white chicken dipped and fried, then drizzled in sauce (I don't like places where they don't batter and fry the chicken). So very good. My husband also ordered one of the curry noodle dishes and he liked it so much he ended up eating all of the leftovers later that night. The curry noodles (vermicelli) had shrimp and chicken mixed in. Super yummy. We weren't able to save room for dessert but we checked in with Yelp and received a free dessert voucher that we'll have to use next time. Service here was great. Our drinks were constantly refilled and our server checked on us several times. It was great. A wonderful experience and we cannot wait to go back! read more
