3.5 stars in general, 4 stars for service I had very high expectations for this place, but it was a little bit disappointing. The service is very good but the food tastes like frozen food. The restaurant is the only one at the castle hotel. So it's very convenient for those staying there and coming from the theme park. If you're not staying here, I wouldn't recommend it. Save your money and time. It would be nice to have crayons and kids menus to entertain children while the food is ready. They have a Legos pool at the entrance for children to wait while your table is ready. Thumbs up! We booked this place without knowing anything, but based on what we read on the description from Legoland app QUOTE "With an open kitchen for guests to watch chefs preparing their food, locally sourced food, entertainers, LEGO® themed decor and tasty seafood, pasta and steak options...it's a unique dining experience unlike anything else. " UNQUOTE We didn't see any chef preparing any food. They said we will have "an experience" and other than dinning on a theme restaurant, we didn't experience nothing special. The kids got hamburger with fries, cheese pizza and cup of fruit (basically melon and grapes). Chicken tenders look good too. For adults we got the steak and chicken pesto pasta, I personally wanted then Cajun pasta with shrimps, but they ran out of Cajun. Again, servers are kind and friendly. read more

If you find yourself at Legoland overnight, get in to the Dragon's Den and get yourself a steak and a glass of pinot post-haste! It's surprisingly above average and the prices are very reasonable. They actually had a big screen TV showing an NBA game to offset the kids/Legoland extravaganza atmosphere so I thought that was nice. Our server was super sweet and checked on us often. The entertainment was very cool as a king and queen came out in the evening to talk to the kids while children played in the Lego pit. Dinner was good. I had the castle burger and it was huge. Very tasty. French fries were delicious. Kids shared a kids pasta which was enough to feed my 5 and 7 year old. Husband ate bolognese pasta and it was a massive amount. And service....so top tier! We came here recently for a family vacation to Legoland. From an ambience perspective, it feels very much like a cafeteria on the set of the legendary Nickelodeon show, Wild and Crazy Kids...i mean it was a little chaos. The service was pretty solid and the food was actually much better than expected. The whole family ate happily - of course amongst the 100 overtired/hungry screaming kids. We have stayed at Legoland for 2 years now and when you stay at The Castle, you get free breakfast buffets at Dragon's Den. This is super convenient especially if you're staying on the property. We also make it an effort to have dinner 1 time during our weekender stay. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. There are a variety of hot plate items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, etc.), cereal bar, coffee bar, and breakfast drinks. The food is always replenished and seems fresh. The times we have eaten for breakfast have been early mornings (around 8am) and yes it's busy but if you make reservations for a later time, the more its busier. It does take a while to get your table bussed, but we just put our used plates, etc., to the side and it's not a big deal. For dinner, my husband and I ordered the steak and salmon for 2 years now. The salmon is pretty darn good considering! It was moist and the salmon skin was crispy. I squeezed the herb lemon with butter and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed his steak, although I thought it was a bit chewy since I don't care for NY steak much. The sides on the steak (veggie and potatoes) were ehhh. My sides were rice and veggie and they were good. These dinners were about $30/each. The kids dinner run about $12. My kids ordered the chicken strips and mac n cheese. They were pretty standard. Our service was good and we sat by the TV so that the kids were distracted enough to have our dinner warm. Overall a pretty decent place to eat onsite. read more

1) like most recent reviews this year....it's true the steak is good! It's probably as good or a little better than the best cut of steak at Outback Steakhouse . 2) burgers are not the juicy greasy kind, but it was meaty. Bacon was crunchy at the right spots. Buns weren't dry. 3) bruschetta burrata appetizer I highly recommend this! The bruschetta is slices of colorful heirlooms and there was plenty of burrata 4) waiters were friendly and food was brought out by kitchen staff to ensure your happy with your food. Pro tip: - get the Togo bags! It's a nice souvenir and really good quality bag (see photo attached) . It's a great souvenir or you can use it as a birthday bag lol - just outside of the restaurant your kids can enjoy the hotel amenities without staying there ! Outdoor movie theatre, playground , indoor lego pits , character interaction , and more. The staffs here has to be the most incompetent people in the world. I was at the pool area with my girls and since that grill is closed off season I had to come here to order my food. It was no problem at all until I encountered a whole crew of incompetent staffs. I went to the front to order to-go they said to go to the bar. I went to the bar and placed an order for mac & cheese with some fries. An hour passed and I still didnt get the order. I noticed there were only 3 other tables in the entire restaurant and one party happened to have come after us. I asked one of the waiter and he said he would get my waiter even after I said it was a to go order and I am just sitting here with my 2 daughters. Manager popped in and out. And after another 15 mins I caught him to ask him about my order and he said it was sent to the front for to go orders. NO ONE ever told me to wait in the front for my order when I simply waited right in front of the person I had placed my order. Anyone with common sense would realize there was a few people just sitting in front of them twiddling their thumbs and waiting for an order. My advice for management is to train these people to read the room, teach them a little common sense or fire them because they are not smarter than a goldfish. read more

The place is very convenient if you are in the theme park. It is located inside LegoLand and you don't have to drive out to eat. I came here for dinner. The menus are pretty simple, typical American dishes. But what I love about it, they have varieties of kids meals.. Avocado Mango Salad: mixed greens were fresh. They give good amount of avocado. The cilantro lime dressing was a little sour for me. I'am glad I requested it on the side. Meat Lovers Flat Bread: prepared with tomato basil sauce with tons of meat. Not bad! Creamy Chicken Pesto: it was just okay. To me, the pesto wasn't made from scratch. Tasted like from a mix sauce package that you can get from any market. The Farmers Sandwich: it's delicious and mouth watering. Thick cut of zucchinis, eggplants and bell pepper. They used good bread too. ---- This was my fave among all the dishes we ordered. This restaurant is catered for kids. Tons of Lego's around. It has play area to keep the kids pre-occupied while waiting for their food. Service is not bad, servers keeps-up pretty good. My family and I dined at Dragons Den a few times during our stay at Legoland this past weekend. Two times were for their breakfast, which is included for free in the hotel package and once for dinner. Dragons Den is located INSIDE of the Legoland Castle Hotel. You don't need to be a hotel guest to dine there though. Make sure that you make a reservation online via OpenTable prior to arriving! They are only taking reservations, no walk ins at the moment. You get a 5 minute grace period but they also state that they will hold your table for 30 minutes (according to the email I received) in case you're running late. There is inside seating as well as outdoor. All of my visits were inside but I think next time we may try outdoor if the weather permits it. There was a small line each time we visited but it went by pretty fast. The only time we had a short wait after checking in with the hostess was our last day Sunday for breakfast. The restaurant has a pretty neat waiting area decorated with Lego designs everywhere. There are also Legos for kids to play with as well as a cool spinning wheel! They have neat Lego art located within the entire restaurant also, pretty cool to take pictures of with the family! I will say that I much preferred their breakfast compared to the dinner experience we had. Breakfast is served buffet style so there's no rush. You can take as many trips as you want to try their selections of food. My favorite were the pancakes, Biscuits & gravy and their blueberry muffins. My son loved the cereal packs (they offered cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I think Frosted Flakes?) and he also enjoyed their Belgian waffles! They had a lot to choose from though, each day they had a different "ethnic food" area. Saturday was "taste of Mexico" and Sunday they had "Asian entrees" which was orange chicken - a pretty random breakfast option but at least they tried? All of the breakfast food was nice and fresh. Nothing spectacular or out of this world but my family and I enjoyed it! Now for the dinner experience - honestly I wouldn't recommend to come here if you're paying for the meal out of pocket. Our server, Antonio, was nice and came around every now and then to check on us but I wouldn't say the service is anywhere near 5 star (not that I expected it anyways). The wait time is what really killed the experience for me. My sons food came out much quicker than my bf and I. Even though my son ordered the pepperoni kids pizza and I got the regular pepperoni pizza for myself. We must have been sitting there minimum 45 minutes as our son ate before our food ended up coming out. And honestly my pizza was the exact same as my sons so I'm not sure why the time frame was so far between. It wasn't nearly worth the money we spent. My pizza got cold very fast and tasted like something that would be served at a buffet. My bf did enjoy his burger though! So that was a plus. At the end of the day I'd definitely recommend Dragons Den for their breakfast but not dinner. If you do dine at their restaurant for dinner be prepared for a long wait if you order from the main menu while kids are served an hour in advance! 4 stars though because I really did enjoy their breakfast and the convenience of the restaurant being located within our hotel! read more

Good breakfast buffet, it was better than the food at Castle Hotel in Denmark! It is the only breakfast option open early at the hotel and there was a stunning amount of people eating there at 7:40am when most places would be deserted. There were lines to get in if you didn't have a reservation and a line inside for the buffet, it looked like a large space and every table was full. They have the standard breakfast fare like sausage, bacon, eggs, tater tots, orange juice, apple juice, packaged cereals, oatmeal, fruit, and some breakfast pastries. The unique buffet items when we went were biscuits and gravy and a bellpepper, onion, and mushroom sauté. Everything tasted good, only exception being the bacon which was the very thin almost dehydrated bacon normal to some breakfast buffets. Highly recommend making a reservation a couple days ahead of time. For certain party sizes you can't reserve online, our party of 8 (2 families) had to reserve in person the day before and so glad we did. read more

Pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much from a theme park steak. I can say that it exceeded my expectations I ordered a NY Steak for $33. The waitress asked me if I wanted A1 Sauce on the side and I said yeah. I can tell you that I never needed it as the steak was packed with flavor. My family liked their orders a lot to. Special shout-out to Divanya. She was an amazing waitress. Anything we needed she got in a timely manner and was very kind and patient with our toddlers. Highly recommend. 5/5 read more

I didn't have much expectations when eating at a theme park hotel restaurant. Dragon's Den is located inside the Legoland Castle hotel. After a long day it is just easier to eat at the hotel. Beside burgers and pizza, they also have steak, salmon and pasta on the menu for the adults. Hubby and I ordered the steak and pesto chicken pasta. They were both beyond our expectations. The steak were a little over cooked and tough otherwise it would be a four star review. The roasted carrots and potatoes were delicious. The Pesto chicken pasta, wow, that stole the show. So flavorful. The portion was huge so we could have easier split it and still be full. The kid meal- baby got the Mac and cheese with fruit. Nothing to exciting. Thank you Kat for booking our reservations when we had trouble with Open Table, our personal service wizard who fixed today's reservation when we woke up late and to Chef Juan who made Judah some of the best gluten free pancakes ever! Our almost two year old has a very severe form of Celiac where he will vomit if exposed to even the smallest amount of gluten. I really love how this restaurant takes such great care of their guests with food allergies and intolerances. We love the variety here along with the very kid-friendly atmosphere. There's also a cool playground the kids can play at while you're waiting along with a huge bin of legos they can build with. We enjoyed the multiple character meet and greets (plus free balloon swords) and sweet servers like Kylee who helped us clean up after our messy boys. Reservations are required. If you're planning a day at Legoland, come here for breakfast and beat the park rush plus get fed some amazing food. Don't expect a quiet candlelit dinner as this place is tailored for kids. During weekends and holidays, be sure to make reservations using Open Table as this place can get busy. Dinner here is a full-service sit down restaurant with options for the entire family. I recommend ordering The House Burger and fries, you won't regret it. Two Beef Patties, White Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickles, & Garlic Aioli Served on a Brioche Bun. All of the layers of the burger were delicious, from the juicy beef patties to the cheese and fresh lettuce and tomato. Our family enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was included for all LEGOLAND Castle Hotel guests. The breakfast buffet features fresh fruit, smoothies, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and more. This is an average A-OK restaurant in the context of just eating food at any restaurant regardless of being at a hotel, amusement park or against it's proximity peers. I was told, not sure if it's true or not, that The Dragon's Den was pretty much the fanciest or most upscale restaurant in Legoland and in either of the two adjacent Legoland hotels. If this is the best they can offer, there's definitely room for another restaurant since this is more of a totally family (and I get it, it's in Legoland, not geared towards adults) dining, but the menu was pretty much like diner or chain restaurant caliber food. Not bad per se, just more ordinary. We did get as upscale as they offered with the seafood and steak along with a shrimp soba dish. We'd come here before on another trip and had their typical bar foods. The prices aren't bad for an amusement park, and portions were okay. You get a % off discount if you have an annual season's pass to Legoland too. The service was off the 1st time we visited, but spot-on the last, and most recent time we came here. Generally it can be a tad slow because it is a large spot with families, so not a step in, get out, quick bite. read more

Had to eat here for our breakfast buffet that was included in our booking. First, I tried to make reservations the night before but the web site does not give you the option to. So I called the front desk a d was told that I didn't have to. Sure enough, when my husband asked for a table for eight, they said we need a reservation!!! Selection was food, taste was standard, nothing to rave about. NO ONE came to remove plates from our table. No one said hello. Finally, the lego area was a mess with Legos all over the ground. A total fall hazard. NO ONE bothered to man the place. Saw a Kevin and Alan just chit- chatting amongst themselves when they were right next to the mess. Oh, tough call on the Dragon's Den... Based on convenience we booked a reservation for dinner after a fun filled day at the park. The perks of eating at the Dragon's Den is that there is plenty of Lego activities for the kiddos to keep them entertained. Additionally the wait staff was pleasant and helpful considering how chaotic the restaurant was. As it relates to the food and menu options, I was a bit surprised how limited the kids menu was. It had some basics most kids would enjoy but the kitchen was unable to make a grilled cheese sandwich or quesadilla for our picky eater. For the adults, the menu options are very standard fare. Basic American food options that tasted relatively basic. Definitely nothing to write home about and nothing to remember. We had dinner here after the parks closed. I ordered a harvest salad, along with a kid's salmon and kid's steak entrée. My kids never eat their whole meal, which means I get to sample the leftovers. My salad was well rinsed, no dripping water from any of the ingredients. Everything was chopped up well. The kid's steak was about a 6 oz steak, well seasoned and cooked medium well (even though we asked for medium). The kid's salmon was shockingly good. This skin-on fish tasted fresh, not frozen, and was creamy in the center but had a crispy skin, the way high-end sushi restaurants prepare salmon skin. Each kids' entrees were served with a bed of long grain rice and steamed broccoli. The restaurant is themed to a medieval banquet hall with Lego models everywhere. A pit with Lego bricks are at the entrance. My kids played while waiting for our table and again while waiting for our food. Our server notified us when our food was ready. The Dragon's Den is located inside the Castle Hotel, next to the park entrance. You must have a reservation, especially if you want to eat here on a weekend. read more

Breakfast buffet: free w our stay. Lots of variety. Fruit station with banana, orange slices, apples. Oatmeal with fixings and coffee station to the left of the main buffet. Main buffet had scrambled eggs, bacon, tater tots, pork and turkey sausage, biscuits and gravy, and regular pancakes and chocolate chip pancakes. There's a shorter buffet station on the right with more eggs, sausage, bacon, more tots (if there's a line at the other one), and breakfast potatoes. There's a toaster for bagels and breads with cream cheese, butter (way too cold to spread) and jelly. More to the right there's a juice and soda machine (orange, apple, coke, orange soda etc - like 6 different sodas). And water. There were also muffins (3 types), yogurt with berries and two types of smoothies and some veggies. I was surprised to see a simple mixed green salad too. Just not very Covid friendly. Everyone touching everything to serve themselves. Kids playing in Lego's etc. a lot of people aren't wearing masks around the hotel either. The lunch and dinner menu looked pretty limited so hopefully the park will have some more options though I saw more food options near the outlets a half mile away. And can always order in pizza instead of paying ~ $10 for a kids pizza per kid just to eat on site. read more

Made a last minute 5:00 reservation on a Sunday night. We were staying at the Legoland Hotel next door, it was a short walk over. In the booking app, it said there was availability for bar seating only, but there is no bar. So if this happens, book it! My 3 year old daughter loved the Lego play areas. She played with dad while I waited for food to be delivered. Food was good, not amazing, but better than park food. I had the salmon, rice, veggies. It was perfect!! I would highly recommend and would order again. My husband had the blackened chicken sandwich and my daughter had Mac n cheese with fruit. Note, they DO NOT HAVE A LIQOUR LICENSE HERE! I ordered a glass of wine, yum, and my husband ordered an old fashion, but it was a mezcal with bitters, not a a real old fashion. Go to the bar at the Legoland hotel for hard alcohol. Also, all alcohol is served in plastic glasses, it was weird drinking my $13 wine out of plastic. Service was great! There was one character who came out, but never came by our table so my daughter was disappointed. We stayed at Legoland for a few days, and figured we would try out the dinner places on site. I have to say, I was not impressed with the quality of food for the price. I am giving this 3 stars just because of the waitress we had, she was excellent. if you take the service out, the food was a 1.5 star. I got the chicken sandwich, the kids each got a cheeseburger. The burger meat was still pink in the middle. The buns were a bit hard for both. I have to say, even though I didn't have to leave to go eat, I would not recommend this place to go eat dinner. The food was not of good quality and it was quite expensive for what we got. Also, word of warning, they do not take cash... Only card. For breakfast on the other hand, breakfast came with the hotel reservation, and the buffet was fairly good. For that I would recommend. read more

So I arrived at Legoland July 18...we checked into the Legoland Castle Hotel..I did a review for that too, so since we had to wait we hit the theme park. We finished up later that evening. Arriving from Hawaii on a red eye flight by 8pm we were all beat so we decided instead of going off property we'd eat downstairs at the Dragon's Den. We called down made reservations and when it was time we went right down and were seated. We all ordered myself and my daughter's boyfriend ordered burgers. When our meal arrived I guess they had forgotten his burger and only mine showed up. His showed up 6 or 7 minutes later. Not a big deal so no real gripe. It happens. The burger was ok, taste was ok...fries were ok...so where am I going with this? That night at 3 in the morning...it hit me, FOOD POISONING!!! If you've had it before you know the symptoms and it started with everything coming out of the attic!!!! Then it shifted to the basement lol. I was knocked out for a full 24 hours. I'm Thankfully I felt like I recovered quickly but all I had in that 24 hours was water and Gatorade. After our stay didn't complain or anything but I felt like I should have. But honestly would they even believe me...who knows. So my review would be no starts and a big fat don't eat here!!! So if you decide to venture out and eat here...eat at your own risk! read more
