Food: Food is good enough for family and is priced reasonably. My kid had the burger and fries and it was standard. The fries were nice and crispy though and thick (not soggy). I had the healthier fare which consisted of grains and chickpeas and it was definitely healthy and filling. We also ordered the fries with cheese and bacon (obviously this is why I ordered the healthy entree) and, again, the fries were crispy and thick. Our dinner was tasty! What made it even better....... Our waiter! His attitude, attention, and patience was beyond my expectations. I kept bugging him about his Lego mini figure above his name tag. I told him I was told I could trade mini figures he laughed and with a smile he replied not this one sorry. To my surprise when the check came in.... SURPRISE! So the restaurant itself is very cute, but it's very rundown. My chair was ripped up. It just didn't seem very clean to me inside. The waitress took a long time to get to us and didn't even take a drink orders. I had to give her our drink order. And then I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on a gluten-free bun. The first bite was great. I didn't eat the chicken yet, but the bacon is really good and then as soon as I bit into the chicken, it was super raw inside! . I was just so disgusted. Just lost my appetite and felt sick. My son ordered the kids chicken tenders and I had to try a chicken to make sure it was cooked and it was. But when I told the waitress about my meal, , she didn't seem to care too much and you know, the chef should've come out to apologize or explain. But they didn't just seem to care at all. They did take it off the bill, but honestly, they should've apologize. I feel very sick to my stomach. We dined here on New Year's Eve. Like the rest of the hotel, it's pretty noisy as expected. We made a reservation (highly recommend!) and checked in. After a short wait, we were seated, provided water and ordered. My kiddos were super excited to have chocolate milk with their kids meals, especially since Bricks Restaurant had been out of it for the past few days. The food is pretty standard but their Brussel Sprouts are absolutely delicious! My husband and I shared it as an appetizer, but our waitress Nicole mentioned that she sometimes gets it as a main and adds chicken for protein. Will have to try that next time. The food was good and the atmosphere was fun, but we could've done without the screaming kids at the next table. One kid was throwing a fit and the other was so loud we couldn't really hold conversation. Parents were completely oblivious with dad continually stepping away and mom on her phone sipping her wine the whole time. The staff here is very friendly, though they will sometimes disappear. The first time we ate here we actually showed up and no one was there at first. It seemed like everyone was on their break which was odd. The atomsphere here is nice. It's quiet and laid back which was a great break from the hustle & bustle and craziness of the Legoland park. However, the menu is very limited and very very overpriced. It felt like they basically had theme park staple foods at inside a theme park price point. Basic burgers, fries, & salads. Nothing to really praise and. nothing to really kock. Everything was completely average. And about $10 more than what it should have cost. Based on the other food we tried at the Legoland hotel & Castle hotel, this was by far the worst meal we had. And we only came here a second time because we were exhausted and it was right there. They serve alcohol here so that could be worth a visit if that's what you're looking for, but the food itself is a pass. The food is more expensive than in the park, takes at least 30-mins after ordering, and tastes like theme park food anyways. You're better off eating inside Legoland as it seems to be about the same food but it'll be cheaper inside and faster. read more

When we came to the host podium, the hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait and that was no problem for us. We went to the arcade inside the hotel to play a bit and then, came back. Definitely prefer this to the Brick's restaurant. The server was friendly and the restaurant was about 70-80% full at 8pm (when Legoland closes). The chili was yum!! The chicken kebab was ok -- really enjoyed the toum (garlic sauce) that came with it. The kid's meal chicken tender was very respectable -- crispy and not dry. My kids and I loved the hotel ambiance and the lobby, elevator, room and included breakfast was great! However, while waiting for our room to be ready we had a late lunch at the skyline cafe and an unexpected and disappointing experience. We were sat at a table within a few mins of arriving. There were a couple other tables but most of the cafe was empty. Our server took 15 mins to acknowledge us and another 5 to come back to get our order. My kids meals ($16 each!) came with drinks that I had to remind our server to bring after about 20 mins of waiting. Our three meals, two kids burgers, a chicken breast and side of veggies took over 30 additional mins to come out. Having worked in the food service industry for many years I know that this was not normal, especially in an empty restaurant. During our long wait we saw multiple employees milling around talking to one another with very little urgency or concern for our experience. This spot is in the Legoland hotel, across from the more chaotic Bricks. Its pretty small, but it is kinda like an oasis of relative calm in a desert of complete chaos. Ok, I get this a resort bar built parents after a long day at the park. I get everything at legoland should be expensive, so I won't mention pricing. I found this Bar/Cafe to pretty much suck. The atmosphere makes you want to leave. Its bright and open, but not in a good way, just empty, even with people there. It is a full bar at the resort, so thats cool. The cocktails are fine, but not noteworthy. San Diego is the capital of craft beer, but some how they pour 805, Stella, Ballast Point (which isn't even a brewery anymore) Hess (the brewery that gets called out for racism twice a year), and Blue Moon. There are really shitty dive bars in Carlsbad with better selections. Pizza Port, Pure, Burgeon and so many more are up the street. Food looked mediocre. I didn't want to stick around to find out. read more

Skyline cafe is a great option if you are looking to steer clear of all the little hands getting into your food at the buffet. Located across from Bricks Family Buffet, they serve sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and things of that nature and have a full bar for drinks. The highlight of Skyline cafe is the impressive skine made of legos. If you look closely you will see lots of silly and quirky things. What is so neat is that some of the windows in the buildings light up and you can see something going on in the windows. One of my go-to's here since our first visit 3 years ago is the House Turkey Club with a side of sweet potato fries. In the past the sweet potatoes were yummy and crunchy and fried just right but over time the quality has gone down. I find that fries are now overfried. Service here was very slow even on an off-peak, weeknight. There was hardly anyone here and yet the drink I ordered took almost 20 minites to arrive. When I looked at the bar they were just hanging out. The servers are nice here but service was very slow. In my photos you can see how awesome the food looked back then vs how overcooked and overfried it looks now. I have read some reviews where others think this place was overpriced but in my opinion the portion is pretty generous and can be shared with a small child. read more

I wasn't expecting much but I was wrong. The food was good! I had Sesame Chicken Salad ($14) and Lemon Roasted Mushroom Flatbread($13). The salad was delicious! And it was big portion. I was so happy. My flatbread was also delicious. It had white truffle oil and I kept eating and eating. LOL My husband had Skyline Dry Rubbed Wings ($13) and Pepperoni Flatbread ($13). There were about 8 wings and lots of carrots and celery sticks. Very filling and goes good with beer. My husband was happy that there were lots of celerys because most place only comes with 3 or 4. We were hungry and didn't know how the portion so we ordered little too much. If we have shared a flatbread, that would have been a good amount. Chicken wings were pretty good (sauces came on the side so they weren't soggy) but they were laughably tiny! Still, there were plenty of them, so no complaints. The salads, by contrast, were ginormous. I could only manage half the Caesar. Next time I'd ask for less cheese; it was a lot of parm. Kids split a pepperoni flatbread and seemed to enjoy it. If I could give negative stars I would. My daughter and I stopped in here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Service was ridiculously slow. This restaurant is in a kids hotel, at a kids theme park! You pay HIGH prices to stay in the legoland hotel (and to have the convenience of a restaurant and not have to drive into town for dinner). This fact alone negates any excuse they had for it to take an hour and 8 minutes to get our food. Thankfully my daughter is 8 and not a toddler and we were able to color and talk to pass time but the table next to me had the same issue and their kids were having massive meltdowns. The chicken burger I ordered came dry without sauce it was advertised with. The fries were cold. I had to ask for the sauce and that took an additional 9 minutes. YES, I counted after the first 30 minutes passed (I know what time we were sat and ordered). My daughters food was meh, and she is not a picky eater at all. Prices were on the high side as well. To make things worse, the temperature inside the restaurant was cold and I even had a sweatshirt on. So that made it even more miserable waiting all that time for food. The only people that deserve a star were the entertainers (hula hoop gal and juggler dude). They were both amazing and engaging. I felt bad for our server who was doing his best but he can't control the pace from the kitchen - but he didnt do anything to rectify the situation so he takes a hit too. A comped meal or even a dessert would have been nice. The manager needs to get it together. NEVER AGAIN. If you stay here, I suggest driving into Carlsbad or having Uber Eats deliver. read more

My wife and I ordered a burger and a wrap and split them and both got really really sick at the same time with the symptoms of FOOD POISONING. We filed a report with the management and medical and security. They all acted like it happens all the time and that we were making it up. It ruined our 3 day trip to LEGOLAND but we did our best to show our kids a good time when we weren't huddled by a toilet or trash can. This restaurant is a building over from the main hotel. We decided to come here for dinner because it has the least waiting time. It also has a bar where you can skip the wait and eat at the high table. Kids are not allowed at the bar. TLDR: Food quality is poor and expensive. Overcooked and overpriced. Services was great. Chicken strips: completely overcooked. Hard rock. We had to ask them to remake. Still came out overcooked but better than the first time. The fries were so salty. Tasted like they accidentally poured the whole bottle on the plate. Chicken wings order sauce on the side: came out extra crispy and charcoal. Was too hungry so I ate the dried overcooked chicken. Grilled sandwich: burnt. My kid took one bite and that was that. How can you mess up grilled sandwiches? Speechless. Ribeye ordered medium rare. Came out medium rare but overly seasoned. I couldn't wash it down with my drink fast enough. Had to ask them to remake with light seasoning only. Came back overcooked. We cut the meat in front of the waiter and he was like yeah that's well done. He returns it for us. We asked to speak to the chef. So it turns out they cute the meat for 3 days. Why ole why? That is insane. No wonder it's salty! The third time the chef tried to remove as much if the cure as he could. Still came out salty. The kids apple juice were the extra small bottle. They have a good selection of wines I had a bloody Mary and my waiter made it extra spicy with salt rim. Super nice and accommodating server. Located inside Legoland Hotel... Beer at theme parks are not cheap! Come here during happy hour for 5buck drafts. That's what got me to eat here! They had one of my favorite, Red Trolley. They have both inside and outside seating. This is the area that also serves the pool area. So... Their beer mugs are plastic but they are chilled. I had their steak & avocado flatbread. ($15) It is good. Very filling. They just changed their menu... They don't have the steak nachos anymore ( it was one of their popular items). My kids had the kids meal. My son had their hamburger and it was great (I ended up eating it). However he didn't like it cuz he is very picky and the restaurant was able to make him a side of chicken tenders, which was also very good (moist and tasty). My other kid got their Mac & Cheese. It was so good that I ordered another kids plate so I could eat it too. Kids meal were $9 that included drink, fruit, and fries. We sat inside. They had Lego Ninjago Cartoon playing and small trays of Legos that they were able to play with, which kept my kids entertained. This is important... Why? It allowed my husband and I to enjoy our food. Customer service was friendly, but as the parked closed... The restaurant was getting busy. Better than I expected and the prices weren't inflated like many hotels do. But the prices were right on, and all the more better if you're a Legoland passholder. 20% off better! Food wise, the menu isn't too extensive, but they do offer pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, and appetizers. I was pleasantly surprised to see ahi poke. Not so pleasantly was the taste or lack thereof. Fortunately there was soy sauce on the table but that didn't do much. It's probably the first time I never finished an ahi poke appetizer! The kids grilled chicken & fries were good. Chicken was slightly chewy on the edges but seasoned well. The cross cross fries were cooked perfectly. They were my favorite indulgence tonight. The bacon mac & cheese was fair. The bacon was a little hard but the cheese was good. The penne Alfredo was also tasty. The hubby really liked it. Service was excellent, particularly from Peaches. I stopped in with my 5 year old for a bit to eat. in side tip: Ask the waiter for legos to play with when you seat down (free to play during your meal). Although this is officially called a "Cafe" but their food is above it. They have huge portions and very tasty (stay away from the kids meal, order a standard meal and have the kids split it instead). The seared scallops was done well (Gordon Ramsey would've been proud) . The steak was cooked to medium rare and their drinks was excellent. Their sweet potato and crisp cut fries were very good and kids loved it. As mentioned the kids meal was pretty generic so stay away. I ordered the macaroni and cheese; it's not worth it nor worth bashing them about. I would also stay away from their nachos. read more

Considered a five star but maybe four star is more appropriate. A few things we liked: 1) This place understands families with children. Our server Jon came to our table quickly after we seated. He asked if we wanted any drinks and/or anything for the kids. He knew kids have more limited patience and can get hangry quickly. We didn't order food for the kids from the kids menu but they served all our entrees quickly anyway. 2) The prices were not bad considering this was a restaurant in the Legoland hotel. Captive audience. They could have definitely milked us for more than they did. 3) Food was OK. I had the Cobb salad and the kids had the flat bread. Came here after a visit to legoland. My kids loved it ! The food isn't the best but it's great when you're tired and all your kids want to do is sit, play with Lego's and eat. The boys ordered the Mac cheese and that was delicious it tasted like valveeta cheese, so creamy. They have a treasure chest of legos for kids to get some and take to their table. It was a great experience, can't wait to do it again even though their food was ok. We ordered the steaks and although they were cooked to perfection they lacked flavor. The bruschetta was NOT good... literally a small plate of tomatoe and a tad bit of basil barely and cheese. They add the balsamic on the side as decor which is pointless since the bread is as hard a rock. Not something I'll ever get again. Have gone to Legoland twice with my sister's family and I'm always the extra wheel/weirdo adult without kids, so it's nice to be able to stop in somewhere for drinks to decompress and some decent adult food. Stopped in while everyone was at the Water Park and got the steak nachos (best with a cold beer!), the warm mozzarella salad, buffalo wings (my personal least favorite), and a side of fries (can't go wrong!). Everything was just what we needed after having our fill of the park.
