He mentioned they may only be able to do the consultation since they had another job, so from the very start I felt like we were receiving rushed service. Dan and his apprentice spent a little less than an hour knocking holes in our drywall (in one closet he just started hitting the wall with a hammer) only to make his way up to the attic to tell me we had a roof leak. As I had mentioned in my original consultation, this was in fact a vent pipe leak that I would have been happy to pay to have addressed. Instead, we went through two roof consultations before I crawled up in the attic and fixed the vent pipe myself. I tried to reach out to Dan to let him know this was actually a plumbing issue and received no response. We found TNT through one of the Yelp project requests and I deeply regret choosing them as opposed to some of our other options. Between the price paid, the lazy investigation of the pipe, and the lack of response when I reached out to have the situation rectified, I am seriously disappointed with their service.

Saved by Ehrhardt Brothers Quality Plumbing! (West of Baltimore, a.k.a ColumbiaPlumber)…read more Sunday evening, our water felt less hot than usual. Monday, it was only as warm as we keep the house, and only as much water as there is in the pipes! Our gas water-heater failed! Bad timing, too. Last week was what Chicago calls Fools'-Spring ... around 70°. But this week was back to Second-Winter, 30° (Mar 2026). And the next warm days, which Chicago calls the "Spring-of-Deception", is still ten days away. There was water leaking from the heater. This is considered the calm before the 50-gallon tsunami. If this is home-remedy advice, First call a friend who has successfully navigated this problem. Next shut off the gas and then the pilot. Next shut off the water inlet. Your friend will have at least one plumber to recommend. (They will enjoy that...) If your garden hose isn't frozen to the spigot, drain the water tank. If frozen, spend a sleepless night with the 24/7 plumber's number on speed-dial. We chose #2.  We made it through the night. Two of our friend's recommendations were small-businesses, our preference, and we asked all three for quotes and availability. Ehrhardt was ready to offer a price based on our descriptions and photos, of course with caveats for anything unexpected. I considered their bid to be a pretty-penny, but I'll say it was less than our friend's expectation, and more than our friend in Cleveland expected. A fair price. They came the next morning, and it might have been sooner if we had called right away. We cleared a path for them through the house, and they had the water heater replaced in 90min. Impressive. We went out for St. Pat's. But what we should have done was what they told us: check the pilot light for about 30min, and test the hot water after 60 to 90min. We came home to cold water. I'll admit some grumpiness. We called in the morning, and they came back in a jiffy (our apologies to everyone else who had appointments that day). In 30min, they figured it out: a faulty pilot in the new, just-unboxed water heater. They had a replacement part over-nighted. The next morning, in 30min, done. This time we did as told: checked the pilot after 20min (and nervously, an extra time again after that). Still lit! The second time we checked, the hot water outlet was noticeable warm. By 60min, hot water from the faucets! By 90min, much to relief of nearly everyone i know, a piping hot shower. AAAAAHHH :-) Ok, so how does three visits equal 5-stars! The hardest question answered first: Because the problem was the manufacturer's fault, and Ehrhardt handled it flawlessly: Excellent communication by Ehrhardt, priority attention to our problem, no excuses, just fast resolution. Great service staff, from the office to my house. Fair price. I admit that I'm writing this in the after-glow of that hot shower. This could be the start of a beautiful situationship.

This man will hustle and break his back to earn your business and build a relationship with his customers. He takes pride in his work. I cannot recommend this place enough. On a Friday afternoon, I reached out to ~5-7 vendors to assess a broken HVAC in a DC condo. Ricardo was able to come out IMMEDIATELY at 8PM on a Friday night. He did a quick dusting of the unit which hadn't been serviced in a while and even went to the roof as a part of his diagnosis. After sticking around for a couple hours trying to find the source of the problem, I was mentally preparing myself to pay a diagnosis and service fee, but there was no such thing. What signaled to me Ricardo was top notch was the fact that this man lives in Baltimore, easily a 50-minute commute from where I was in DC. He didn't leave until I was satisfied with his work until 930PM on a FRIDAY night. This type of service is difficult if not impossible to find. Ricardo patiently explained what the problem was, why I wouldn't have working AC after he would leave, and what my options were. He was very transparent with pricing, sent over a couple of quotes, and laid out what install schedules would look like depending on which manufacturer I went with. He and his team came in Tuesday and the install lasted about 7 hours. Fully working AC in less than 2 business days at a reasonable and competitive price. You cannot beat that.

We set up a time to meet the following day. The next day Khuma texted me when he was in route and arrived on time with his assistant, They both put on shoe coverings before entering my home. After taking a look at the heater he assured me he could check several systems to find the culprit and gave me an estimate. The work was completed in about an hour. He then showed me the various systems he had checked as well as the results. He ended up placing a new valve on the overflow system. He cleaned up the work area when he was done. He also took $50.00 off the quoted estimate and charged me $200.00. I found Khuma to be polite, and concerned. The quality of the work and the knowledge he demonstrated in the type of water heater system was impressive. He even quoted the amount to replace the entire system. I placed his name in my call list under plumbers in case I would need future help. I would definitely recommend him for anyone needing help with a plumbing issue. LB Feb, 2026

Gets out of his truck and says nothing. I say "hey" and start explaining the issues I am having, walking him to the hose. He asks nothing/says nothing on replys with "uhuh". I get done telling all I can and let him know I have a work call, but let me know if he needs anything. His first word to me "ok". I get a call less than 10 mins later to come outside and meet him. He tells me, "IDK your hose has pressure. Don't know whats wrong with it." I ask, "do you think the hose itself is clogged." ,, "yeah maybe". I am relieved because I was worried it would be pricey. Then ask why the front hose would lose pressure to and turn that on for him. "I dont know". I am just standing there completely confused. I thought the whole point of the estimate was to find out what the issue was and provide a price to fix it. I awkwardly say ok and goodbye and go inside and call the manager. The office manager is really receptive and polite and tells me she is emailing the plumbing manager as we speak. I get a call 1-2 hours later from the plumbing manager. I explain the experience, he laughs about Jackson not speaking or saying hello. I did tell him I didn't think it was funny, it felt kind of rude. He tells me "I just know Jackson, it would be weird if he got excited." I explain I didn't need him to be excited but a greeting, follow up, asking questions, providing the service he is there for would have been more than great. I continue, and at the end he doesn't apologize, doesn't find anything wrong with what happened and asks, "what do you want?". I am kind of stunned, because I would expect a manager to not be ok if an employee is sent out to provide a service (Ie and estimate) and didnt perform one, was rude to the customer, and didn't check for any possible issues. I tell him I would have been good to go with them again, but he didn't seem to think anything was wrong and didn't even apologize so I don't think they would provide good service. He doesn't apologize for any wrong doing but tells me he's sorry I "felt that way" / that I felt I didn't have a good experience. Not that it was a bad experience and he was sorry, but that it was my feelings. I tell him that I didn't get an estimate which was what Jackson was supposed to come out and provide and it cost them business, bc I absolutely would have proceeded if he did and it was fair price, with an ounce of respect/human decency. He gets defensive, gets very rude. I just tell him, basically thats not ok way to handle business, again "I dont know what you want." is all he will say. I can't believe this boys a manager talking to customers like this and tell him have a day to end the chat. He tells me to "have the day I DESERVE" trying to get one last jab and hangs up on me. -1000/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. The plumbing manager is overly emotional, avoidant of accountability for him/the company/or his team. SUPER defensive and the techs seem to have the respect and work ethic of a shoe.
