You can tell when someone is straight with you and Drain Works was certainly practical in their approach. I found other companies willing to do the job cheaper but when looking at their proposals they are simply buying something from Home Depot and slapping it in place. Had a problem with a Rheem water heater. Called another vendor, supposedly certified to work on Rheem water heaters, but they were not able to solve the problem and get to the bottom of the issue. Asked Drain Works to take a look at the water heater. The plumber took his time, systematically worked through the system, and found an extremely small filter that was clogged. After cleaning this out, the water heater (and I) were very happy again. Had Drain Works do work previously, and found they had the same methodical, careful, and systematic approach that they used on the water heater. I called Drain Works to set up an appointment to have my Vermont Castings gas, vent free, Franklin fireplace inspected and after a lengthy conversation with a representative I was told my location was out of their service area. My call was a complete waste of time and Yelp as well as Drain Works were misleading in their representation that Drain Works serves Olney, Maryland. Hopefully the service area of Drain Works will be corrected in their advertising as well as Yelp's data base to avoid future customers in the Olney, MD area wasting their time. My husband and I began a recent search for a great plumber when our home warranty company failed to meet the mark. We turned to Yelp to seek a reputable plumber, with good reviews, and a quick turnaround time. Drain Works far exceeded our expectations! First, Jorge, the owner (and plumber extraordinaire), responded back to our quote request within moments and was available to come to our home within two days... sooner if we had been available. Now, onto the good stuff. Our home is relatively old, 51 years to be exact, and we were down to 1 working bathroom, of the three available in the house. The first issue was the master bath; we'd been having problems with it since purchasing our home about a year ago; recurring stoppage, water backing up into the toilet and shower, yadda, yadda. Our home warranty sent four different plumbing companies... accumulating more than seven visits, to no avail. Matter of fact, they ultimately said they wouldn't cover it because they considered it a mainline issue. THEN, enter Jorge. And thank you, sweet baby Jesus. Jorge was able to clear the lines in the upstairs bathroom, finding a wad of towels or paper or other things we should just leave to the imagination, while none others had been able. I'm happy to report that a week later, we are still in business and fully functioning. Next issue, our basement bathroom. The basement bathroom had sprung a leak around the base of the toilet. We tried to fix this one ourselves, thinking we just needed to replace the wax ring or something. But upon pulling the toilet, discovered that our original flange was broken and crumbling, resulting in a leak. We were fearful that this fix would require breaking up the concrete floor to replace the entire pipe and flange (old cast iron); however, Jorge suggested he could rebuild the existing flange because there was still enough intact. I'm thankful that he proposed a fix instead of a full bathroom renovation, and this too has been working successfully ever since. It's not often these days that we encounter people who are truly masters of their trade. PS - both jobs were completed in the same day. Jorge was completely professional, courteous, and fair. If you are looking for an honest, skilled plumber, look no further! Jorge at DrainWorks is the one to call! I contacted Jorge from DrainWorks Plumbing and Heating after seeing positive reviews on Yelp. We had two old toilets that were beyond repair. Jorge came out today with two new toilets and installed the first toilet without incident. Upon examining the flange for the second toilet, he noted that that flange was turned 90º and needed repair. Jorge went to get a flange repair kit and spent a lot of time with a difficult installation prior to putting in the toilet. The installation was beyond professional. The toilets were not cheap $80 toilets from Home Depot. Jorge made sure to upgrade our toilets. The toilets are water savers (as are all new toilets), but these toilets have a wider flapper which creates a stronger flush. AND THE TOILET SEAT and LID are self-closing (no more toilet seat bangs in the middle of the night; and with a finger tap on the toilet lid, my kittens will not be able to drink from the toilet if we forget to lower the lid.) When he was preparing to leave, Jorge noticed that the drain in the bathroom was slow. He asked me if I wanted him to look at it. He snaked the drain and re-assembled the drain under the sink. Now all of the bathroom sinks in the house are free-flowing! I am impressed that Jorge made himself available to take care of this additional problem at a reasonable rate. Jorge is very customer-oriented, and his prices are quite fair. He explains everything clearly and concisely. He makes the time to address customer questions and concerns. I was going to try and fix a shower faucet and found that my main water shut off valve wouldn't move. I called Drain Works and a real human answered the phone! She was nice and helpful and scheduled somebody to come out the next morning. Jorge came the next morning and listened to the situation. He was able to shut off the water and showed me how to do it. The valve was plastic and required most of my strength to turn it. I was worried that my other family members wouldn't be able to do that in an emergency, so Jorge was able to quote me the cost of replacing that old plastic valve with a new high quality valve that is easier to operate. Not only that, but he was able to replace the valve right away, it didn't take long at all, I was surprised how quickly it was done, and when he heard that I am a new first time homeowner, he gave me some great tips about things like shutting off the outdoor faucets in the winter and showed me how to do it. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The hot water pressure in my kitchen sink had decreased, but not in any other sink. Jorge checked out the easily visible possibilities but was not able to find the problem. He told me the options to increase the pressure but also said that he wasn't sure it would be worth the investment since there was still enough pressure. Jorge could have easily told me that I needed to do a major repair, but was HONEST enough to say he didn't want me to invest a lot of money if it wasn't necessary.
