I think they might be my favorite bite of burger in all of Indy. I also love their drink offerings. It's fun to split a table tap! When you're not in the mood for a burger, their sushi is always good and fresh. We almost always go on a weeknight and sit at the bar. I know it can get pretty loud and rowdy on the weekend nights. Drake's is one of my favorite places to go in Indy. They serve sushi, burgers, steaks, and more. Even with such a large and diverse menu, the food is always high quality and tasty. I usually get either burgers or sushi. Their smash burgers are amazing, I love the thinner patties with crispy edges. Their sushi is also delicious, it tastes like you're in a Japanese restaurant. The shrimp tempura roll is always a solid choice, even for people who don't love sushi. I got the Crunchy Munchy Roll last night which was great, I'd also recommend it to anyone who's interested in sushi but doesn't love raw fish. Lastly, our service was nothing short of outstanding. We came in at 7 on a Friday and they were understandably busy, but you wouldn't be able to tell that when talking to our waitress. I came here on St. Patty's day for an early dinner. They've got a ton of TV's in the bar area which was perfect since March Madness was on. They make an awesome Bloody Mary. But these days you're running all over drinks with somebody else. Why are you always touching the road outside Drake's? Are you really that drunk? This is an extremely popular bar in the NE Suburbs of Indy (which are the suburbs where all the Yelpers live, btw). Drakes is a solid place to dine and have drinks. The food is priced reasonably and they give you nice size portions. I didn't take a photo but I ordered the wings and I think it came with 10 or so. My husband ordered the black and blue burger and said it was amazing, we had two drinks and the bill was around $40 or so. Not too bad. They have plenty of sitting and if you prefer the seating near the windows are great, they are open and face the street. I visited Drake's on Saturday with a friend. We couldn't make up our mind on what we wanted to eat, so we thought something like drakes could work for both of us. I ordered a sushi roll which was called the crab Rangoon roll. The roll was reasonably price, but I probably wouldn't order sushi from Drake's again. I loved that you could play bags on the patio and the environment of the bar. Next time I will probably stick to appetizers and burgers. I have been to Drake's more than 5 times and their food is very good! I typically get their tater tots as a side and they are amazing. While it seems odd, their sushi is very good. They have a new spring cocktail menu (photos attached). My friends ordered the strawberry mule and the tropical margarita and both said they were ok but would not be ordering a second. Service here is slow always, no matter what time of day you come. I've come for lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late night drinks. Today I came for drinks with friends at 5:45 p.m. and the restaurant is not crowded. Our whole group ordered drinks and I ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri and the server told me that they can't make virgin drinks when they are busy. Being pregnant it's nice to be able to have a drink with my friends so this was pretty disheartening, especially since the restaurant was not crowded. I will take my business elsewhere in the future. Decent beer bar. Very full for a Monday. I just had a beer and a salad. I had the California Cobb salad with chopped greens, sliced grape tomatoes, and scallions tossed in a citrus vinaigrette popped with bacon, avocado, and blue cheese crumbles with grilled salmon. I paired the salad with an 8% abv Abbey-style Belgian dubbel beer called Taxman Deduction. It's a dark amber colored malty/sweet beer with hints of dark fruit and enough mild bitterness to balance which leads into a dry sort of finish. Both the salad and the beer were very flavorful and in my opinion went very well together. They only had one garage door open but when the weather is nicer I'm sure it's great sitting up front at the bar with all the doors up. I'll have to come back for that. read more

So this 3 star review isn't so much for the food. My friends and I go here every so often and never have issues. This last time was kinda different. I was late arriving because we were going to dine downtown and I got there and then the location was changed. This will make sense if a few lol. I get there, we all order everything seems to be kinda good. We get water and my friend ask for another cup because hers was dirty. The waitress brings her another cup but leaves the dirty cup. We mention it and it gets left MULTIPLE times until finally we ask another server to take it from the table. We get our food and 1 person doesn't have silverware so we ask for one. She says something along the lines of oh you all don't have one and starts looking at everyone's silverware like verifying we all don't have one and that one is actually missing. I'm confused because I have never seen it being a problem asking for silverware and like I stated earlier, I arrived late. I just felt that was extremely rude. Now that night one of my friends got their Sriracha wings which were so freakin good so I decided to get some the next night for a pickup order. I guess they don't do all flats cause that's what I requested but didn't get it. Not completely a deal breaker. But one I grab my sauce out the bag I definitely notice it's Ranch and not bleu cheese and everyone knows if u like one u definitely don't like the other. So I look at my receipt thinking maybe I made the mistake and nope...I didn't. The wings were definitely better when we ate there but if u do a takeout order just verify before leaving. I really do like Drake's food, especially the sliders and sushi, but whoever our waitress was that night needs to get some customer service skills. Beer towers and food. Drake's offers dozens of different towers and appetizers that are perfect for a group of 6. Only down side.. there are not enough TV's in the back portion of this bar. Covid protocols aside (plastic wrap around each booth), most people don't have a clear view to a TV. There are about four or five 36" TV's in the back. Need more and bigger. read more

Some friends and I went here for dinner and we were happy to see they were still busy but taking the necessary covid precautions. They do take your temperature at the door and have large plastic deciders between people which is good. Only thing to mark this down to 4 stars vs 5 is the quality of service. It took a long time to get our food and the appetizer came out before the toddlers food which was ordered when we first sat down in order to get her something to eat. Recently visited this location. Food was just ok. But the bartender Ashley was one of the worst. I like to dine out a couple times a week. We were made to feel as if we were a bother. Was not very helpful. Never tried to be accommodating. Never asked how we were, how was our food or what else we may have needed during our visit. We found ourselves asking other servers for assistance during our visit because Ashley made us feel as if her helping us was a bother. Customer Service was non existent. Will never go back to this place we were made to feel unwelcome and as if we were a bother. I reached out to corporate and was told someone would be in contact in 2-3 days. Drake's is perhaps more fun in the summer, with their front having side walls open so you can eat al fresco. But having eaten there quarterly or more for 3 yrs, I characterize them as a bit hit n' miss. First there on a lunch date, then since with colleagues, my tween son, and most recently friends for Trivia Night (on Sundays), I'm quite familiar with their offerings yet find it sometimes hard to decide what to order. With its eclectic selection on one menu, it should have something for everyone. That's got to be a primary draw (oh, along with the bodacious beer towers, on special on Sun and Mon). But my experiences have shown that Drake's doesn't do any one thing particularly well, so I often find myself ordering something for the "meh" of it. And believe me, I've eaten my way through their menu of burgers, tacos, sushi and salads and a few specialty cocktails. It seems like they changed their chili recipe a year or more ago too, and this chili connoisseur didn't like the result. Last time there, the typically "meh" service was sub par and it was hard to get our server's attention. Granted we had ordered in spurts over a long period of time due to our party's filtering in for Trivia Night. But one would think the goal of such an event is to sell more food and drink. I will inevitably find my way back there as a meeting place due in part to the centrality of its north-side location. But for me, Drake's has sort of lost its charm. read more

I used to LOVE this place and recommend it to everyone. However the last few times I've gone the customer service has been "off." And sadly this time so was the food. We received some chicken that still slightly pink in the center, and asked to speak with the manger regarding it. The intention was just to notify him of the mistake. We were not asking nor wanting it be removed from our bill because honestly not all the pieces were pink. He got upset and took our Togo box threw it in the trash. Stating, "if the chicken wasn't done you wouldn't want to take it home". The problem with this was that we had a leftover sushi roll in the box as well. Wednesday's are $0.75 wings and $5/$6 whiskey night's so decided to indulge with friends. They don't have a selection of wings which was kind of disappointing but I still ordered anyway. The wings were a sirracha dry rub which were good but I was expecting a little spice kick to it and I never got that. My go to whiskey is Jack honey so I was able to order that with a little lemonade (best combo ever). I've been to Drake's several times before and ordered their Chicago Roll sushi roll. If you've never heard/been to Drake's based on apperance you wouldn't think they had sushi but it pretty good and popular. I like the Chicago Roll because it has seared filet mignon. read more
