I decided to go here last minute for my birthday celebration. They told me it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait and it was only about 15 minutes. One we were seated and had ordered the food did not take long to arrive. The waiter heard it was my birthday and offered me their birthday treat. First time here so we got a little bit of everything. Our family ordered the chicken tenders, grilled cheese, the mini juicy Lucy's, and I ordered a couple sushi rolls. The chicken tenders are hand breaded and delicious! The juicy Lucy's was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. The sushi was just meh. The rice was a gummy and my $17 roll didn't taste much different from the $10 one. Service was great. Jorden was super friendly:) the inside is really nice and clean. Must try!! We finally got to experience Drake's and it was SO GOOD!! The wait was long so we enjoyed drinks at the bar until our table was ready. Lacey made me a delicious tropical sangria. Our server Shannon was fun and attentive. I ordered sushi & everyone else ordered American. Even though our fried pickles came out after our food, they were hot and delicious (the dip was great too). Portions are great. A manager came over to ask how our experience was going (I love when managers table touch, shows great management) and she saw I ordered sushi which prompted her to bring out their crab rangoon roll. We've been wanting to try this place for a while since it always seems so busy every time we drive by. We finally went last night and feel that the place is pretty average. It was a few minutes after being sat for us to see our waitress (we didnt think it was a big deal but she gave us a free cookie for the wait). The menu has a decent variety of options as well as drinks both alcoholic and NA. We opted to try their Chicago roll which was really good but our entrees were average. This place is a little more pricey than others similar so I don't think we'll be rushing back but it was worth trying! read more

This is a provisional five star review. We'll see if it lasts as I continue to work through the menu. Beer, Burgers and Sushi? It's a bold strategy, but it seems to be paying off so far. On this first visit I focused on the Burgers. Smash style, supposedly fresh, never frozen. It's not as obvious with a smash burger, especially the way they serve them, but I'm not going to call them liars. These are indeed tasty burgers, but if you prefer yours thick and rare, this is not the place for you. The house fries are crinkle cut with mild seasoning. Typical, nothing to write home about. The dining area surrounds the bar, which is surrounded on two sides by the patio. The patio can be sealed off from the interior, but they're running wide open at the moment. This could get interesting (cold / drafty) in January, even with the roller doors shut. I guess I'd call the decor modern bar style? A lot of bench and high top seating. At least some of the tables have bag hooks. Service was friendly and attentive. Good luck getting into this place with less than a 30 minute wait. Peaks times will be over an hour. Will it endure? It seems like this chain is expanding fast. If you're paying attention, you might notice some bits that were cloned from a Tennessee location. They've got novelty on their side at the moment and they're frequently at or over capacity. Given the economic uncertainties of these modern times, who knows? Admittedly, I have no idea how much they're leveraged (if at all). It wouldn't be the first chain to come to the area to flourish briefly before giving up. Let's hope otherwise. read more

We overheard OUR server (miss "DELANEY") make a horrific racially charged remark; something about how a black person never tips. We were TAKEN ABACK, we didn't even think we heard correctly...but YES. She probably thought it was a okay to say due to the fact there were no black people around but ARE YOU SERIOUS. We're profiling now? This is the server you have and want to serve guests? What would have happened if we were black??? Would she treat us different?? One of my girlfriends called the store after but she's more passive than I. I need something done ASAP. I will not rest until someone addresses this. Got a burger and a BLT with tots that were dripping in old grease. Restaurant also doesn't have a host??? Seat yourself, so when the dinner rush arrived, I was facing the door and had a wall of faces staring back at me as new patrons wanted tables. The only reason I am giving this a 4/5 and not 5/5 is the inability to call ahead or place reservations. We got there & put our name in for a 1 hour and 45 minute wait, YIKES. If there had been a way to call ahead or check in online like you can do with yelp (wink wink nudge nudge) that would be great!! The atmosphere here is incredible, so lively! We got some of their summer cocktails and I felt like I should be on the beach! For food, this place has everything. I was REALLY hesitant to come to this place when it's so new...but my daughter insisted. I took a tour of the menu and was a bit shocked. The calamari salad was perfect and as good as I have had in high end sushi restaurants. The chili was actually served hot and had great consistency and spice. My burger was nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Toppings were on point. The fries were hot and crispy - and I loved the seasoning. Our server was Faithlyn and she was outstanding...very attentive, got our order right, smiled and just made us smile with her positive energy. I honestly can't believe what just happened. I know there are corporate trainers in town helping out, so things could change, but I hope not...if there is any knock on this place, it might be that it's a bit pricier than say Applebee's, but the food and service are better, so it's worth it. They will hopefully add more parking too, because if it rains, you are going to have some muddy shoes from the spaces in the back. Had my first visit to Drake's last night and I was intrigued by the floor plan of the restaurant and bar area, as well as the separate bar entrance. We were seated quickly for dinner even though the place was busy, and our waitress was prompt to get our order. Drinks and appetizers came quickly also; I recommend the Buffalo chicken bites. We all ordered and the menu is varied, so almost everyone had something different. I ordered a spicy California roll and pork dumplings. I liked both, but I wish they offered steamed dumplings, which I prefer over the fried ones. Others in our party had "The Grinch" drink and found it very good. The chicken tenders were also highly complimented. I was glad to see a burger/American fare restaurant with a Sushi menu. read more

Both were cooked to perfection and had really great flavor. Their summer drink menu is on point and I will definitely be back to support this establishment. Service was friendly but clearly still learning the ropes, as this is a brand new spot. The only criticism I have is that it is open air and they had the doors open in the dead of STL summer so it was really hot inside. We would have stayed longer but for the unbearable heat. Service was good but food that I had was not very good. Chili tasted like green peppers with very little spice. I asked for hot sauce and I was brought buffalo sauce. Now they just opened so I get it if they are still figuring it out. Here is where I had an issue. I signed up for rewards and they advertised an instant $5 off. It was not on my rewards. The server said she could get the manager and he would probably take it off but I did not want to raise a stink so I said no big deal hopefully it will be there next time. I ordered a house lager and it was on the menu at $6.75 and we were charged $7.50. Again not a big deal but it starts to add up. I will try one more time and order what they are known for next time. I want to start by saying the food here is really good. I've gone twice and have had sushi and sandwiches both of which were really good. Unfortunately the service here is so fucking terrible I will never go back unless someone forces me. I waited for ten minutes and had to flag down a waitress in order to get water. She apologized and said somehow they missed us and we didn't have a server... It also takes like 15 minutes to get a beer despite the very nice looking large bar they have. I watched two manager type people just watch me struggle to flag down a server as they did nothing to help. Super rude. This place had just opened when we visited. I was with family, and the severs were learning. I ordered the small burgers, and they were average. Drinks and food came slow, but there was a roaming manager that helped speed things along. It was hot outside and surprisingly had the doors open. I had a nice time with a wonderful bartender on Monday who told me about specials that were on certain days. Tuesdays are $3 pints on the house beers. I returned the next night to get some $3 pointed and dinner. I sat at the bar for 20 minutes before the bartender asked me if I needed anything. I asked about the $3 points and he said they don't do drink specials. I said, yes you do. He said, no we don't. I said, yes you do. He said, I can go ask if you want me to, and then just stood there. After a long pause I said, yes, go ask. He reluctantly went into the kitchen for a bit. When he came back he said, yes there are pint specials on Tuesdays, but they are out of the two beers that applies to. I said fine, give me a pint of beer X. He then asked me if I wanted 12, 16, or 24oz. I said I want a pint. He asked me again if I wanted 12, 16, or 24 oz. I said again, I want a pint. He said, so 16oz? I said yes, that's a pint. When he served me the beer he asked if I wanted any food. I said, no, not anymore. I had decided to drink one beer and go for food somewhere else. The beer was $7. The bill was $7.42 after tax. I have him a ten dollar bill. He came back with two dollars. I showed him the receipt and asked where the rest of my change was. I had planned on giving him $1 and the 58 cents of change as a tip which is more than 20%. He said we don't give out change and round up to the next dollar. I told him to keep the 58 cents and I left with the 2 dollars. If you pay cash you pay extra. This is beyond ridiculous. The poor service I might have excused, but ripping people off of their change is unacceptable and I won't be back. Neither will anyone I tell about this shady business practice. read more
