Drakes is a very popular spot for me. I tend to come to Drakes at least once a month with friends or family and I have never had a bad experience. The wait can be hit or miss. If you go on a weeknight it's not bad but if you go during game day, best of luck. They have TV's everywhere so I feel like people are now having their game day parties to Drakes instead if it's competitors. I've never had a bad item at Drakes. My top favorites are the crab Rangoon roll and the pretzels and beer cheese. They give you a pretty big portion so you are always leaving satisfied. My husband always orders the quesadilla and he always takes some home. We love Drakes and unless something changes, we will keep coming back read more

I recently visited Drakes with some friends for a late night meal and drinks. I ordered the Raspberry Mule and fish tacos. The Raspberry Mule was yummy! The portion of fish tacos was huge. They were good with all the toppings. The only thing I would say is there was a bit too much breading. Our server was super friendly and just amazing. read more

Good service and a super casual atmosphere. Transforms into a bar for the most part after 9pm but still serves food. I recommend staying with burgers, sandwiches and sushi. I opted for the 4.5oz filet with side item and a sushi roll on this trip. While the sushi and side were great, the filet was not so great. It was a bit undercooked and not seasoned at all. I ordered it on a whim knowing I should've stuck with the usual bar food items so lesson learned. I've been here once before and this experience echoed the last, minus the steak experience so while I would give 3 stars for this trip, it was a definite 5 on the first go so Drake's earns a solid 4 stars! read more

Why is Nick the manager refusing to turn on the sound for the Mexico/England game? Called several other Drake's. All of which stated they had the game and volume in. However, Nick said corporate wouldn't allow it. That Drakes is leaning to be a family restaurant and not a sports bar. It's 9:30pm on a Sunday and you are open till 11pm. If you're not a sports bar, close at 9. Such BS. Wait staff was great and in agreement with the customer base. Get a new manager. What an embarrassment. read more

9/7/25 We love coming to Drake's for brunch. Today we decided to eat at the Paddock location since we were in that neighborhood. There was no wait and we were taken to the second dining room. It was nice and quiet in the whole restaurant. We were there for just a few minutes before Christian came to our table to ask what we would like to drink. We ordered our Ice Teas and then we were ready to order our 2 favorite items at Drakes. Our favorites are the brunch items, Breakfast Burrito and the Breakfast Quesadilla. The Burrito is filled with scrambled eggs, chicken tenders, tater tots & cheddar-jack cheese wrapped in a jumbo flour tortilla; served w/ fire-roasted salsa & sour cream. I just love them. The Breakfast Quesadilla is loaded with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar-jack cheese and smashed potato puffs enclosed in a jumbo flour tortilla. Soon Christian was back at our table with our entrees. They look so delicious that you can't wait to get that first bite. Christian stayed for a second to tell us how much he loves the Breakfast Burritos. He likes it best of all because it has the chicken in it. He was off then to take care of 2-4 more tables. He was just so funny, had a great personality, and was very professional. He checked back very often and always smiling. He brought back tea refills, and then a cup to go. There was so much deliciousness in these 2 breakfast items, that we got full and had to take some of it home.I told Christian that we really hope to have him as our server again, and he said to ask for him. The last few times we have eaten here have been flawless. Tonight, McKenzie brought the heat with the service, setting the bar even higher. Despite it being busy, she never slowed. I felt like she was trying to set some kind of record on how fast she could refill our drinks. So impressive. The crispy fish tacos are sooo good and probably my favorite to get. After the long trip from Austin we needed a drink and something to eat. Drake's was close to the hotel so we gave it a try! The bartender was amazing! Fun, engaging, on top of things. I had a salad which is hard to mess up, my mom's fish plate was incredible! The fish was perfectly battered and it was a huge order. It's a really cool "sports bar" vibe with everything from golf to girls softball on the tv's. The crowd was good and not too loud. It made for a great afternoon! read more

Not an overall great visit. We don't typically visit this location but when Joy Luck was closed we came here for the later hours. The highlight was the patio tables. The weather was great and we enjoyed the doors being up. Our salads came out fine but only two of the three entrees ordered made it to the table. We were told someone else picked up the order but our guess is our server forgot to put in the order. Despite being told it was expedited, the meal arrived after the others finished eating. This was my first time ordering fish and chips. Awful meal. All I could taste was breading and grease because the fish was so thin. The excitement of a large meal quickly faded based on the taste. Stick with their burgers! It's our fault for not pushing the issue but we left disappointed that the mess up wasn't recognized and the super late meal (that we had boxed up upon arrival) wasn't taken off our ticket. Stopped in for lunch today after meeting in the area. Sat at the bar and Cooper was my bartender. He was quick to take care of my food and drink order, but didn't rush me. I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap (no bleu cheese) with fries and a side of ranch. The wrap was perfect. A large crisp and chewy tortilla stuffed with diced blackened chicken, tossed in buffalo sauce with some bacon and lettuce. The fries were crispy and lightly seasoned. I love dill pickles and that's where my lunch experience lacked. The pickle spears are usually crisp and crunchy. This one was almost mush. Couldn't eat it. It costs them a star for sure. To be lunch time, it was not super crowded and only a couple of us sitting at the bar. The staff were friendly and all smiles. read more

First time diners at Drake's here to tell you we ate a delicious dinner!! Starters Fried Pickles (total yum), cocktails & beer were enjoyed while waiting for our friend. Turns out our friend was already seated at a different table, so the wait staff cheerfully moved us to the high table with our friend. Dinner consisted of Quesadilla, Filet Medallions, & Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, all the food was served hot, delicious with plenty left to take home. The noise level was a little high but all was of happy people enjoying a night out and their food. The service this visit was horrible!! Never have I ever gone to Drake's and had service this bad. Our server when greeting us was rude and acted like he couldn't care. We told him we were going to stay and watch the game while we eat and have some drinks, which I guess he took as if he didn't need to serve us. Our waters got filled once!!! We got one drink refill too as he forgot to put them in! He wasn't that busy, and normally I give the benefit of the doubt but when you see your server flirting in the corner and playing on his phone, not a good look. The food was good as always but after we got our food, we did not see him for 45 minutes! It was like he was avoiding us, and it took me seeking him out to finally get our bill to pay. First, we sat at the inside bar and waited for about 5 minutes and there was no one working the bar. So we went back to the hostess and asked if we should move or would there be someone to serve us. The hostess said "oh yes she's back there". Actually no she's not. Hence I'm asking if someone is working. "F" for attentiveness and service. So then we ordered our cocktails. $9 for a glass full of ice and juice. I could've went to Thornton's and paid $0.99 for that. "D" for the drinks. So we ordered our food. Drakes always seems to disappoint - over promises and underwhelms. Seated right away but took awhile before a waiter approached us, that's ok, they're busy. Waiter had trouble know which table we were at - technology???? Order drinks, took forever to get them, we saw them sitting at the service bar and, had to remind the waiter we were waiting on them. Ordered food. Kitchen was behind, again, busy night but, the waiter apologized for the wait and promised us an order of fries while we waited. I ordered another round of drinks. Food finally can, brought by a manger. She asked if we needed anything - our drinks. Food was very good. Drinks finally came. Some of the frustration was dispelled by Alabama losing to Vanderbilt. To end the evening, we had to flag our waiter down to pay our bill. Never did get those fries. I understand times are different but this type of service is unacceptable. It seems training Is woefully lacking. Restaurants in generally, especially of this ilk, would do good to learn from the example TGIFridays, the original, Corporate owned TGIF, set many years ago. Service was all an about teamwork. You didn't go to the back of the house without something in your hand. You didn't come out without the same. Your ran food whether it was yours or not. You help your teammates. Before you left your station you surveyed it for anything your guests needed. If you had time to stand around, you weren't doing it right. But, we tip them 20% anyway. Why??? Drakes is a very popular east end Lousiville pub and eatery. Located just outside the paddock shooing center. I wanna say i went here years ago for a bachelor party but could not remember. Today after getting my youngest first haircut down the road we stopped dim here with our 4 daughters. It was 130 on a Thursday and the place was still jam packed (as mentioned it's a very popular spot). The bay doors was open around the facility since it was a nice day. We were able to be sat immediately. Staffing here was just ok. They had a bunch of workers but they all seemed very rushed and miserable. Not very personable from the greeter to our waitress. Maybe they had a rough morning but not sure the atmosphere and vibe felt "off" here. They have a very unique setup here. It's a pub with American pub like food but also a full blow sushi bar menu. So points for originality here. We did start with two sushi rolls. We got a crab Rangoon roll and a eel roll. I wouldn't touch the eel sushi roll but the crab Rangoon was really good. Nice flavor. I feel like there roll serving sizes were much smaller then competitors in the area. Or maybe it was just a larger plate or my imagination? Format entree I got the chicken quesadilla. It was solid. Chicken was a little bland. Good cheese flavor and they had a unique tasting salsa. Overall solid meal. My oldest daughter got the same thing and shared my viewpoints. My Wife got a bbq burger that was massive and impressive looking. And my other three daughters shared a kids cheeseburger and chicken tenders. All of them enjoyed there food for the most. My daughter was tickled with the slider like setup beside she got two cheeseburgers. My second oldest said the tenders were just ok. She ate about half of them. So that's a win for her if I'm being honest. My wife said burger was good but a bit messy to eat with onion rings on the burger. She just knife and forked it. My oldest did try a seaweed salad and did not like it. Which I warned her she wouldn't. So that's more on her than anything else. Service was fast on sushi and slow on food. So inbetween on that. The waitress wasn't personable but she did keep our drinks full. Overall everything in here screamed solid or average to me. I can see why it's popular. Unique servings and the place is really cool looking. For the area pricing isn't bad at all. I'd be willing to dine here again. I'm bro sure I'll come out of my way to do so however. read more

Clearly, Drake's is a popular spot. Arrive at 6:30, even on a weeknight, and be prepared to park in another zip code. We checked-in and we were told there'd be a 20 minute and that we could wait in the bar. We saw some open tables in area and asked if we could order from there. The waiter said, "sure", only to have a manager say it was a "no-no". But, he let us stay. Hope our waiter, Drew, didn't get in too much trouble. Now, dinner. We took advantage of Whiskey Wednesday and ordered a couple of $5 drinks. 1 Crown. 1 Bulleit. Somehow, because we ordered our drinks on the rocks, they charged us $6. EZ fix. For dinner we had a rainbow roll, a YumYum roll and miso soup. Honestly, I've had better sushi from the grocery store. Thin meager pieces of fish. But, the burgers & salads we saw passing through looked amazing. So, next visit we'll go the traditional bar food route. Let's just say sushi isn't their strong suit. read more

Met up with some friends and colleagues for a long overdue get together. First time any of us dined at a Drakes. Service was awesome and it appeared over the night that customer service was a important point taken by management. Tiffany was our waitress and upon sitting down she was prompt and attentive to us. We did wait for another person to join later, so she kept checking in wit us. We ordered warm pretzel & cheese sauce and sushi California roll for appetizers. The food was quite prompt in delivery from order to being served. I enjoyed the pretzel and cheese sauce. Our other member of our group arrived and after some catching up; we ordered main dishes Irish Ruben sandwich, turkey Swiss, more sushi. Al in all the service was good; food selections were nice variety and good beer and tasty food! Recommend a stop in place if your in the area. read more

We have a group of friends who eat a late lunch after tennis practice at this location very frequently. Today there was a foreign object in my salad. I sent it back and though they made me a new one, I only ate a bit of it and had lost my taste for anything after that. I was surprised when I received the check. The server, who was very good, said the manager doesn't feel it proper to comp a meal in this circumstance. She offered to have the manager come talk to me but I declined as I'm not going to argue over a small amount. Is this your policy ?any people at my table got the same salad and while I tried to be discreet when I found it and walked away with salad and the object (black hair) in my hand, the table knew and it put a damper on everyone's meal. Not asking my anything but just a suggestion - an apology from a manager and an offer of a free meal seems a small price to pay to make a customer feel better about an unpleasant experience. We got there later in the evening on a Sunday and it appeared to be pretty busy, but we were seated within a few minutes of arriving after they cleaned a table. From there, service was spotty. Our waitress was extremely friendly, but distracted. I'm not sure if she was overwhelmed or just ditzy. It took a while to get drinks and place our order. We got pretzels, sushi, and the blt salad. Everything was good, but we had to wait a few minutes after our food arrived for silverware. The bar area had televisions all around the bar with some random "sports" on. The crowd cleared out pretty quickly by the time we finished our meal. Their menu has some variety - the sushi was probably the best part of the meal. The rest is standard bar type food. This is really depressing for me as I was a weekly regular here for a year but the cook staff have gone so far down hill I can no longer return. Today was the final straw. When we sat down I ordered the chicken fingers for my daughter and sriracha wings for the table. My daughters chicken came out white and soggy...not sure how that happens with fried chicken (it was cooked through though). The wings, only 1/2 had any seasoning. We then ordered dinner and I got the burger of the month which was the sloppy Joe burger and my family got the cheddar burger and a patty melt. My burger came out and it was by far the tinniest, like 1/2 the size of the others despite being the most expensive. Ok fine, whatever. It however had ZERO sloppy Joe beef on it (see pic). I asked the waitress who took it in the back and 5 minutes later came out and said "the cooks say it's there". I then opened both sides of the burger for her and asked if she saw any to which she said "no". I then had to ask for a side of it and got the nicest tinniest cup...smaller than the ketchup side cups for the beef. I'm not even complaining that my water was never once refilled, I had to ask for plates for the wings, had to ask for napkins and silverware, and seasoning for the wings. It's Drake's not Malone's so I'm not requiring top notch service but the cooks are beyond bad at this point. read more
