Had my Birthday Celebration and it was A Fabulous celebration The Lobster Bisque was fabulous and the bread selection was so good. The Filet Mignon was perfect like I like it tender and good the scallion onions were good but the mushrooms were so good. Enjoyed the Au gratin potatoes and the cream spinach. Our server Ernesto was very nice and funny. Enjoyed a glass of Moscato and the Black Margarita. Only concern is that they should that all the drinks are not on Happy Hour. The Ambiance was great. Finally had a proper meal at the Capital Grill with a group of friends! Service and ambiance at the restaurant is amazing - never felt rushed during our 4 hour meal and service was great. We started with the drink menu, they provide a visual menu with drinks shown - most drinks are $13+. As a celebration, they provide us with shots of the dole whip cocktail, which was light and delicious. I ended up ordering a glass of prosecco $10, while many in our group opted for cocktails. It took us about an hour to order off the menu since we were so busy taking but service was excellent and they kept bringing us drinks! Most everything is à la carte on the menu with steaks starting around $50 and going up from there. I ended up getting the chef's special Ribeye with balsamic glaze, and we ordered a few sides for the table including the Brussel sprouts, lobster Mac n cheese, truffle fries and asparagus. I didn't notice but my steak was bone-in so when it arrived it was huge!! I ordered it medium rare and it was maybe a bit on the rarer side, but tender a good steak. Not sure if I would order it again for the price but glad I tried it. The sides were the show stopper though - you must order the lobster Mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts for the table. The ambiance is upscale with dark woods, mood lighting, and a good variety of music playing overhead at a comfortable volume. No need to talk over the music in order be heard. Our server was Amanda and Amanda was pretty on-point for the entirely of our visit. After reviewing the Thanksgiving Dinner offering (it was a set plate), the wife and I both decided to order off the regular dinner menu. While the Thanksgiving dinner menu appears to cover all the bases we thought we needed to try what The Capital Grille was known for. I started out with a wedge salad, then the 18 oz New York Strip. My wife had the Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto. One thing we didn't know before getting there that every. single. menu. item. is sold a la carte. My steak, for instance, came with no side. Sides are their own line item. My Wedge salad....Holy Cow! I've eaten a lot of Wedge salads, but this one, hands down, 100%, is the best I've ever had. The bacon was unbelievable and the bleu cheese dressing was absolute perfection. When our main courses came I was surprised how large my steak was. Wifey's seafood was amazingly well presented. The steak was cooked to perfection, but could have been seasoned a bit more for my tasted. It goes without saying that I couldn't finish my steak. The Wedge salad took up almost all the room except for....except for...when the dessert menu came along. THEN I had room for more. My wife got The Capital Grille Cheesecake, I got the Seasonal Berries. It's amazing. Even after I said I couldn't eat anymore, I could definitely eat the Seasonal Berries! They were out-freaking-standing! Every Single Staff Member was in motion, making sure things were taken care of, no matter what it was. They made me AKA a vegetarian or special customized dish chili and soya glazed tofu on a bed of jasmine rice with some shiitake mushrooms and carrots. Delicious filling meal. I also ate some sides on the table. The spinach was great and so are the potatoes. The spinach just has some sort of a secret herb/ingredient that I could not figure out. My server Daniel apologized for making me "wait" and I was like that's cool, and he made like a small tablecloth situation at the bar by folding the napkin and gave me an extra one. He gave me a free Q ginger ale and boxed up my bread very nicely with no charge. I have been four times and the service is always impeccable, from the hostess stand to the bartender. I have dined in for all of these occasions but the most recent visit was for my stepsons 16th Birthday. I made a reservation for the "bar" area so we could be sat in McKenzie's section. They have waited on us several times and always do an outstanding job so I couldn't think of anyone better to help us celebrate such a special occasion. They truly go above and beyond to make sure your experience is memorable. We sat in a round booth towards the back, and noticed there was a Birthday card on the table for him along with some confetti which was so thoughtful. When I made the reservation I added The Generous Pour experience for my husband and I which is where you get to "taste six award-winning wines crafted by legends for $45 with the purchase of a dinner entrée." We started with the round of whites and saved the reds for dinner. Each pour is 2 oz and is a great way to get to try some wines that you normally wouldn't get too, this special lasts until 8/31/25 ... highly recommend. Dinner was equally as good, we started with the New England Clam Chowder, the Calamari and split the Wedge with Bleu Cheese and Smoked Bacon which are all delicious. We also shared the Tomahawk Ribeye, Brussel Sprouts and the Au Gratin Potatoes which were all Devine. My MIL got the Seared Citrus-Glazed Salmon with Marcona Almonds and Brown Butter which I tried and made me fall in love with Salmon and the Birthday Boy got the NY Strip and mashed potatoes. Food 4.5/5, Service 2.5/5 Stopped in for happy hour at the bar. Bar was full, but everyone seemed to have already been served when I sat down. It was a good 4-5 minutes before I was greeted. Asked for a drink and the menu. Drink was dropped off and server darted away without even asking if I was ready to order. When I finally did get to order (6-10 minutes later) they either didn't listen or rang it in wrong. As a result, my side dish was not put in. So part of my meal was dropped off by a food runner who did a drop and dash like the server and then the server didn't come within earshot until I was halfway done with my entrée. So my side wound up being more of a dessert than a side by the time it came out. Think it was comped? Think they offered any excuse or apology? Nope. I worked in restaurants years ago, and do well enough now to frequent some nice places, so I think I'm reasonable when it comes to expectations. I can certainly see that the length of the bar and position of the service bar make it challenging for the bartenders to keep an eye on everything. That tells me they need either more bartenders on or a better system of coverage. I left quite unimpressed, especially for a chain restaurant that usually has more thorough training and protocols. read more

The Capital Grille is a steakhouse. And a chain. I typically don't choose to frequent either, however work dinners are often held at these places so I do experience them from time to time, As I did just recently. Our server was friendly and professional, however she did neglect to take drink orders for some of the tables. The larger issue arose when I inquired about vegan options and allergens in some of the dishes, and she revealed she wasn't sure what constituted vegan (unaware that milk, eggs, butter, cream etc are not vegan). I asked whether there were any vegan salad dressings, and she offered ranch, bleu cheese, and parmesan vinaigrette, also stating she wasn't sure whether the champagne or citrus vinaigrettes were vegan. To be safe I asked for the dressing on the side - the person who brought my salad wasn't sure what type of dressing was provided, and as it appeared creamy and smelled bacon-y I elected not to chance it. The theme was similar for all the accompaniments (staff was unsure if any of the breads were made with dairy/eggs, believed the creamed spinach and mashed potatoes with cream and butter were vegan-friendly). She was able to request a specifically vegan entree from the kitchen, which appeared to be vegan: a disk of white rice topped with two noodles, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus, and spinach. The flavor was okay, but the veggies lacked salt. There were no vegan dessert options, so I watched my colleagues enjoy their flourless chocolate espresso cake while I sipped my water. While I understand that steakhouses focus on steak, it would go a long way if The Capital Grille took the effort and time to acknowledge specific dietary preferences and needs, provide accommodations for everyone who elects (or needs) to dine with them, and educate their staff about menu items, ingredients, and limitations so they can ensure all diners are treated equitably. read more

My wife and I both ordered a New York strip unfortunately both were not cooked medium like they were supposed to be mine out raw and I hate this but I had to send it back because it was a rare steak and I asked for medium my wife's came out well done but we didn't send her back. It was $57 for each steak so kind of wasted money on the state department unfortunately, they didn't bring me back a new steak within a few moments and it was tasty. It was not the best, but it did job. My wife's pour steak is still sitting in the refrigerator because there's no saving it. Anyway, we got mac & cheese and au gratin potatoes and both of them were really good. The manager came out and checked on those since I had to send my steak back so that was nice to see. I did get to go box and unfortunately they did not give me the rest of Augrton potatoes. They gave us the mac & cheese and the go box And the two steaks to take home but they didn't give me my au gratin potatoes. They threw them away. Not really sure why they did that but can't get that money back either. Overall pretty good experience nobody's perfect on cooking steaks and they were nice about it at least. The outside and interior both have lovely, sleek and high end decor that sets the mood perfect for a celebration lunch or dinner. For being a bartender as his main function our server was amazing. Very friendly, attentive, knowledgable and personable. Top notch and 5 star service easily here. We did start with an appetizer of the calamari and it was massive portions and very good. The wife and I enjoyed it quite a bit. You also get started with complimentary bread and butter and it was pretty good. Had a nice flavor as well. For our entrees i personally got the ribeye and my wife got the New York strip. Both steaks had a good flavor and represented itself well as a high end steak. Only slight complaint on my end is I ordered medium rare and mine was closer to medium well. But still a very tasty above average tasting steak. For our anniversary our server let us choose a free dessert and we got the chocolate cake. The plate came out very lovely decorated with the words happy anniversary written in chocolate.
