A time was had!!! Capital Grille did not disappoint. This is my second time going to a Capital Grille. The first was in Cincinnati. I am so glad Louisville is part of this chain. My food was delicious and the ambiance was warm. Our server did an amazing job attending to all of our needs.

Finally had a proper meal at the Capital Grill with a group of friends! Service and ambiance at the restaurant is amazing - never felt rushed during our 4 hour meal and service was great. We started with the drink menu, they provide a visual menu with drinks shown - most drinks are $13+. As a celebration, they provide us with shots of the dole whip cocktail, which was light and delicious. I ended up ordering a glass of prosecco $10, while many in our group opted for cocktails. It took us about an hour to order off the menu since we were so busy taking but service was excellent and they kept bringing us drinks! Most everything is à la carte on the menu with steaks starting around $50 and going up from there. I ended up getting the chef's special Ribeye with balsamic glaze, and we ordered a few sides for the table including the Brussel sprouts, lobster Mac n cheese, truffle fries and asparagus. I didn't notice but my steak was bone-in so when it arrived it was huge!! I ordered it medium rare and it was maybe a bit on the rarer side, but tender a good steak. Not sure if I would order it again for the price but glad I tried it. The sides were the show stopper though - you must order the lobster Mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts for the table. All in all, it was a good meal but very expensive.

Sea bass. Not perfectly prepared but still very nice.

Pretty good spot for our anniversary dinner. They do make it a point to congratulate you many times throughout the night. I found it a little tacky that they charge $5 for the anniversary dessert they bring out. I know that's not much but it's not something we order so how can you charge for it?!? The service is always excellent. The food is well thought out. Execution might not be to perfection every time but you can tell they are trying.

The Capital Grille has always been a go to spot for my wife and I when we want to go out for a romantic dinner because of the ambiance. Dinner is always amazing because the food, drinks, and service are. This review is specifically about the lunch experience. It's classy, yet casual, and the service is amazing as always. The happy hour, from 3-6 is also remarkable. The lamb chops stole the show.

My server Daniel apologized for making me "wait" and I was like that's cool, and he made like a small tablecloth situation at the bar by folding the napkin and gave me an extra one. He gave me a free Q ginger ale and boxed up my bread very nicely with no charge. I have been four times and the service is always impeccable, from the hostess stand to the bartender. The only thing I would say that is different here than from Ruth Chris is the manager doesn't come out and talk to you. Great Calamari, huge portion.

In our house I generally cook Thanksgiving dinner one year and we eat out on the next, etc. After Wifey narrowed down the locations that were serving on what I'm suddenly going to call Hungry Thursday, we decided that The Capital Grille was the winner. We've been meaning to try it since they opened, so our Thanksgiving Dinner Reservation was made there. The Capital Grille has been opened all of a year at this point, and it is a marvelous facility. The ambiance is upscale with dark woods, mood lighting, and a good variety of music playing overhead at a comfortable volume. No need to talk over the music in order be heard. Our server was Amanda and Amanda was pretty on-point for the entirely of our visit. After reviewing the Thanksgiving Dinner offering (it was a set plate), the wife and I both decided to order off the regular dinner menu. While the Thanksgiving dinner menu appears to cover all the bases we thought we needed to try what The Capital Grille was known for. I started out with a wedge salad, then the 18 oz New York Strip. My wife had the Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto. One thing we didn't know before getting there that every. single. menu. item. is sold a la carte. My steak, for instance, came with no side. Sides are their own line item. My Wedge salad....Holy Cow! I've eaten a lot of Wedge salads, but this one, hands down, 100%, is the best I've ever had. The bacon was unbelievable and the bleu cheese dressing was absolute perfection. When our main courses came I was surprised how large my steak was. Wifey's seafood was amazingly well presented. The steak was cooked to perfection, but could have been seasoned a bit more for my tasted. It goes without saying that I couldn't finish my steak. The Wedge salad took up almost all the room except for....except for...when the dessert menu came along. THEN I had room for more. My wife got The Capital Grille Cheesecake, I got the Seasonal Berries. It's amazing. Even after I said I couldn't eat anymore, I could definitely eat the Seasonal Berries! They were out-freaking-standing! Every Single Staff Member was in motion, making sure things were taken care of, no matter what it was. I'm sure the staff in a restaurant like this must be enormous, and there was incredible amount of teamwork going on. Everything about The Capital Grille was 100% awesome and 100% On Point. Now that we've visited once we can plan on going back.

This restaurant is a phenomenal fine dinning experience located in the East End. The ambiance and customer service was absolutely amazing and extremely professional. Great hospitality and the staff are extremely knowledgeable of the menu offerings. The food was delightful. I would highly recommend the salmon or sea bass both dishes are fulfilling and delicious!

Restaurant - Great lighting - Comfortable Chairs - Great place to celebrate Service - Michael was the best!! He gave great recommendations Appetizer - The bacon is to die for. Absolutely love the sauce and the smoky flavor of the smoke really complimented it - 5/5 - Lobster Bisque has huge pieces of lobster and flavor is incredible - 5/5 Main course - 22 oz ribeye cooked medium rare had so much flavor and was so tender. - 5/5 - Filet trio gave 3 very different flavor filets which were so tender they nearly melted in your mouth - 5/5 Sides - Cream corn was fantastic. Not a cream corn fan but they cut it off the cob and put a little cream sauce - 5/5 - Fries were terrific. Truffle flavor really complimented the steak - 5/5 Dessert - They provided a coffee chocolate cake and brûlée cheese cake for Mother's Day / my dad's birthday. Great flavor and perfect size - 5/5 Overall - My favorite restaurant by far and wonderful for a celebration

I absolutely love The Capital Grille. The atmosphere and ambiance are perfect for any occasion. Whether you are celebrating something special, enjoying a romantic evening, dressing up for a night out with the girls or prefer to be more casual and sit at the bar for a few drinks and apps, this is an excellent choice. I have dined in for all of these occasions but the most recent visit was for my stepsons 16th Birthday. I made a reservation for the "bar" area so we could be sat in McKenzie's section. They have waited on us several times and always do an outstanding job so I couldn't think of anyone better to help us celebrate such a special occasion. They truly go above and beyond to make sure your experience is memorable. We sat in a round booth towards the back, and noticed there was a Birthday card on the table for him along with some confetti which was so thoughtful. When I made the reservation I added The Generous Pour experience for my husband and I which is where you get to "taste six award-winning wines crafted by legends for $45 with the purchase of a dinner entrée." We started with the round of whites and saved the reds for dinner. Each pour is 2 oz and is a great way to get to try some wines that you normally wouldn't get too, this special lasts until 8/31/25 ... highly recommend. Dinner was equally as good, we started with the New England Clam Chowder, the Calamari and split the Wedge with Bleu Cheese and Smoked Bacon which are all delicious. We also shared the Tomahawk Ribeye, Brussel Sprouts and the Au Gratin Potatoes which were all Devine. My MIL got the Seared Citrus-Glazed Salmon with Marcona Almonds and Brown Butter which I tried and made me fall in love with Salmon and the Birthday Boy got the NY Strip and mashed potatoes. They brought out a complementary dessert for his Birthday which had cheesecake and a chocolate mousse I believe, the cheesecake was definitely my favorite.

Truly great experience. Classic steakhouse, with all the dishes, cocktails, and wines you'd expect in one, all in a classy but not stuffy atmosphere and with elite service. My steak was a hair over what I expected cook-wise, but the flavor was still very much there which says a lot (and mine was an outlier, all other orders looked to be cooked perfectly). Desserts were a huge hit, not a weak entry in the bunch! I look forward to returning.

Skylar was an AMAZING waiter. All of our food was great. Salads were reasonably priced but slightly underwhelming. The dressing was delicious though. The vibe was chill, the only qualm I had was the steak could've used a better crust but best bag for my buck so far on all my reviews.

Oh, Yelp. In any event, this is the wine bar (store) on Douglass. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about even if the platform is a bit confused. It was a late-fall Thursday when a friend and I decided to catch up over a glass of wine. It had been a minute since I spent time in this part of town and was dubious about reports of a parking lot. I arrived early to park on the street (not at a meter) and made my way inside. I arrived just as the bar was opening and made some small talk with the barkeep. I claimed a table and made my way through the space -- looking at bottles and admiring the collection. My friend arrived and I sat her at our table.* Walking up to the bar area, I noticed the prices (high) and selection (curated and not very big). Taking my friend's lead, I opted for a syrah and kept it moving. The pour was generous (appreciated), the wine was dry with a surprising floral forwardness and the glass was impressive (I have a thing for glassware). We brought our wine back to the table** and commenced to catching up. I found myself very taken with the vibe of the bar. The tables are hidden throughout the space which lends to privacy and with every table surrounded by different bottles, it adds to a unique experience no matter where you sit. I liked it.*** *Despite having a jacket and bag (sans expensive items in it), a woman tried to lay claim to the table. I know I've been gone a while but I'm pretty sure I'd left the universal sign for 'people are sitting here.' **There may have been a side-eye exchange. ***I understand that the space may have changed in the [admittedly considerable] time it's been since I visited so ymmv. Plus, I was not there when there were dogs in tow. I didn't know this was a dog-friendly bar. I like my friend's dogs. Strange dogs... not so much. I don't know that I'd enjoy drinking around them. Again, ymmv.
