Fried mushrooms after we ate a few
    Mark M.

Have been to Cunninghams twice in the last week. The first time we started with the fried mushrooms and then had the seafood trio meal. The fried cod and grilled shrimp on the trio was great. The fried oysters were good, although my wife was so so with them. The mushroom appetizer was good with a lot of mushrooms. We finished with the bourbon bread pudding, exceptional. Our waiter Henry was spot on. The second trip we had the shrimp cocktail and the seafood combo with grilled whitefish and shrimp. Everything was great. We finished with the blueberry cobbler. The service was not as good but the food was wonderful. We found our new place to go for fish.

I haven't been here in a while. I was mistaken and i thought they had fried green tomatoes but they don't. I got the fish dinner. that consist of: 2 thick fried cod filets, onion rings, and a salad. my wife just got the fish sandwich. she enjoyed the coleslaw. no military discount. I loved their fish.

I've been a resident of the Kentuckiana region for almost a 1/2 century and this is my first time visiting Cunningham's. In my defense, I think it's because we have so many great local restaurants! Suffice to say, this place will be on my top 10 of places to recommend, especially in the fish category as well as scenic spots for dining ambience. We sat outside on the lower deck overlooking the dock. The only drawback was the intermittent almost nauseating smell of exhaust from idling boats. This was tolerable for us since it was thankfully only occasional and brief. Parking was also a bit of a hassle, but patience will be rewarded. Our party of 4 was seated within 15 minutes of arrival for a Saturday 5 PM dining, which is fast for anywhere in this town for this time slot. We also never felt rushed during our visit, which is also a great compliment considering how busy and popular this place happens to be. Our server was absolutely fantastic. Sorry that I don't recall her name, only that she wore a hat that referred to her dog (Max?). She was able to make great recommendations and also shared some insider tips about the queso dip. Food and drink service was efficient and timely. We ordered the queso dip, fried fish, broiled fish, grilled shrimp, rice, steamed broccoli, onion rings, baked potato, and salads. Consensus was that all of our choices were delicious and prepared very well. Looking forward to future visits, especially during nice weather to be able to fully enjoy the water views during dining.

The fish is the best in town ...the fish was so good that after eating what we ordered .... My son & I ordered another piece of fish a piece. That's how good it is... please check it out. Service was spot on.. friendly people & it's right on Harrods-creek. You will not be disappointed... Full service bar with lots of really nice friendly people. Outdoor dining as well. See ya there. This is really a 10!

We just had such a relaxing dining experience for a quick Saturday outing. We all were in the mood for fish/seafood and they did not let us down! I had the shrimp dinner ($22) it came with about 12 large fried shrimp and two sides. It was very good the shrimp, coleslaw and cocktail sauce all tasted amazing. Everyone else got the fish sandwich entree ($18) and it was massive and so crispy but not greasy which was nice. It has a nice community scene and great bar area. The patio overlooking the river would be nice to enjoy in the spring/summer months. My one take away was it does have some improvements that need made, the women restroom the handicapped stall lock was broken and in turn not usable if anyone may need it. But for food and service it is a top contender for great fish in Louisville!

Always great food, my fav is the cod anyway you like fried, grilled or baked. Salads fresh, side all tasty. Service last visit was Tara, awesome and attentive.

Fried Oysters and onion rings! So plentiful and very reasonably priced.

Food always very fresh and delicious Parking can suck, so I recommend coming early. They accommodated our party of 8 without any problems.

This was our first itme to eat here. We pass it many times as we travel River Road, but never stopped because the parking lot was always full. We were going to go to Captains Quarters, but decided to give Cunningham's one more try. It was late after noon and the lot was not full so the lunch crowd had probably come and gone. We know that they have always had rave reviews about their Cod fish so that was our plan. We walked in and got seated right away and the server came and took our drink orders. We both ordered the Cod sandwich and onion rings as an extra side. The fish was exceptionally large and thick. It had a very nice sweet and flavorful taste. What really made our meal were the onion rings. The crust was so crunchy and the onion very flavorful. It is hard to describe just how good the crunch is. The atmosphere was very good, the service was as well and we can't wait to go back. They have deck seating out back on the creek and when the weather gets better it should be fun to try.

    Fried Chicken

Been coming here for years mostly for the fish n chips which is top notch. Tried the Fried Chicken for the first time tonight and was highly impressed... Very crispy and flavorful, some of the best I have ever had. The coleslaw is also impressively balanced and not watery at all. The green beans were clearly slow simmered and I am guessing the secret ingredient is love. The entire staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and fast. I do recommend you come early for dinner because they get busy...

Started with the crab dip- great flavor and texture, fresh scallions and shaved cheese which helped build up the crab flavor- even got extra bread for the dip since it was a good sized portion, Baby green salad- fresh, crisp lettuces, cucumbers and tomatoes in a vinaigrette Bacon wrapped pork loin was flavorful and tender on the inside while the bacon was crispy and cooked to perfection. The highlight was the squash - almost like a veggie lasagna. Char grilled cab ribeye- cookedto perfection (medium rare) with potatoes. Balsamic fingerling potatoes- while they had agreat taste and texture- little too sweet. Finished with a key lime pie- heaven in a pie crust- great key lime flavors, meringue was to perfection!

I'm not sure if the $2 version was a smaller size or only offered at certain times, but honestly... the drinks were still worth it. The flavor was amazing, and unlike a lot of brunch drinks that taste watered down, these were actually strong. Two glasses definitely had me feeling tipsy, so I can't complain too much there. The main reason I took off a star was the parking situation and accessibility concerns. The handicap parking is positioned perpendicular to the main road, which honestly feels unsafe when backing out. If someone already has mobility or visibility limitations, backing directly into a busy road can be stressful and dangerous. The rest of the parking area is also gravel, which can be difficult to navigate with mobility aids, wheelchairs, walkers, or even just for someone unsteady on their feet. It's one of those situations where it's great that handicap parking exists close to the entrance, but the actual setup still creates challenges. Outside of that, the drinks themselves were genuinely really good, the atmosphere was fun, and I'd probably still come back for another brunch date.

It was very rich, but good. I had the lasagna. At first glance, I thought to myself that nobody should have let it out of kitchen. Someone put it under broiler way too long, edges were black and it was very dry. I later took it home, added some marinara, sliced the burnt parts off. It was constructed perfectly, very thin layers, not overstuffed. Just overdone. I think next time we will try a seafood dish. Service was prompt and friendly.

We left because the vibe they were giving us was that they didn't want to seat us which I didn't understand. We were well dressed so I couldn't imagine it was our attire, but that was the vibe they were giving us. When we left, I told my kids it must be because we didn't have a reservation. I was trying to the hostesses the benefit of the doubt. My daughter got online and made a reservation for 30 minutes out, as we all decided we really wanted to try Stoney River. We walked back in 5 minutes before our reservation. Now there were about 5 hostesses behind the counter. I could tell from their faces that they recognized us and a couple of them were whispering again. I walked up to the counter and gave them our reservation information and they said ok. While we were eating we saw them walking by the kitchen looking at us again. This was not a look as if they were checking on us. Our server was nice and did a good job. The food and wine were fine but I have to say the experience with the hostesses really ruined the experience that I couldn't even focus on the food. Unfortunately, we won't be back. It was the oddest experience I've ever had at a restaurant.
