To my surprise every call I made to flooring stores was answered by poor attitude sales persons along with the earliest install would be 2 or 3 weeks if lucky. Then I called Lamorinda Floors on Mt. Diablo in Lafayette. First phone call was welcoming and encouraging. Drive to the store and 25 minutes later found a top quality carpet at a fair price. "We can do the install in 2 days. This product costs $10 a box which means, my bill of several thousand dollars was paying for the craftsmanship to install. JR told us, they will smooth your flooring out to make it even so there are no dips and valley. To prep, I had to remove my bath sink & toilet and remove my shutters to my sliding door. You pay half at start and other half of payment after installation. Installation guys were nice & professional. They did ask me a wee bit late which direction I wanted the flooring, as they had installed it the opposite direction I wanted. Without batting an eye, they pulled it up and changed it to my liking. After leaving and a few days later, the step layer piece (one step down from one room to other) started to pull off. Also, I notice the flooring had a lot of air pockets under the vinyl; they did not even the flooring prior to installation. We taped many spots where the flooring had air pockets to show JR. The owner ended up coming out and was not great at a resolution saying, it was a floating floor. I would not pay my second payment and eventually, they did come back to pull up flooring and even it out. I am happier about floor but I should not ever had to call back; it should have been done properly the first time. One error I made, I did not have them fix my baseboards. After putting them back on, they left the nails showing so now I have to take time from my life to fix.

We realized we didn't have enough flooring to repair the entire area, but Hao was able to help us understand our options, figure out what we needed, and how much. His estimate was competitive and he was the most responsive of multiple flooring contractors we reached out to. Ahead of starting, Hao even helped pick up and deliver the flooring from Pleasant Hill! Her cabinets had what I would describe as a subtle pink hue to them and therefore it was very difficult to find flooring that both contrasted and toned down the subtle pink hue. After 3 trips to and from the store I had found the winner. I was a little dissapointed that the install date was about a month out but at the same time the need for expeediency was mine, and not their fault. That said the two sales people I interacted with were the absolute best. I could not have asked for better help. The install guy, Oscar, was fantastic with communication. He was able to handle add ons with ease and called to verify specifics during the install, rather than just assume like some companies do. He called me and asked me directly, and I sincerely appreciate that. Not only that, but the two last minute necessary add ons did not raise the bill substantially like it might at some other places. Their prices were fair and I feel like I got a good deal, especially given what I percieve to be the high quality of both the product and the installation. The pattern layout was perfect and I highly recommend him. I sent dimensions and a site image and was able to get a quote without a site visit. Our installer was very detail oriented and discovered our wall was not completely flush, which meant that the tile at the top of the wall would be a slightly different width than the one at the bottom. We discussed different strategies for approaching this problem. The zellige we received was also highly variable in quality and color. I asked our installer to pick out the tile in the best condition since we had ordered 10-20% extras and were very happy with the results.

We were looking to update our fireplace and entry way tile as a kick off to our next remodeling…read morephase - we were hoping to go from ugly brown tiles to a nicer marbled white herringbone tiles. My partner and I even made mock ups of the design we wanted to achieve. Noe was responsive over text when taking down our requirements, giving quotes, and estimating how much material we should purchase which we purchased on our own (though we might have over purchased our material by 20%, I'd much rather have extra than not enough!). Noe handled the tile and grout pick up when it was ready for installation day, and took care of the misc material purchases (finishing metal edge trim, tileset/cement, etc). Adrian and Luis are fantastic installers. Adrian's communication was really top notch (he kept us informed and updated often) and ran through options and recommended solutions when we encountered a bit of a snag with our subfloor and evened it out for us (we wanted to elongate and cut the corners of our rectangular entry way tile). Luis' tile work also really great. His cuts were clean, tiles were even/level, spacing of the grout lines were pretty even as well. I've had tile work done through a general contractor before (they had some rough cuts and some pretty bad tile lippage leading to uneven surfaces) - their quality is nothing compared to Luis' work, our entry way and fireplace with the herringbone pattern looks so good and it matched our mock ups very closely - they really brought our vision to reality! The three of them Noe, Adrian, and Luis really do live up to their company name as Tile Experts and they are very competitive with their pricing. You can check out the before and after photos (just ignore the ugly carpet in the pictures, we have not replaced it yet!) We are really happy and impressed with the work they did for us and would go back to them for any future tile work.
