Unhelpful and rude. Referred by Costco and very disappointed. We wanted near to black-out window treatments and were told they "don't exist." It's been a while so I forgot exactly what it was but something needed to be replaced nearly immediately and the guy (Jason?) came back out grudgingly to fix it. Since then, the large shade over our family room window broke to the point that it doesn't lower completely. We didn't bother calling them. It wasn't cheap, either. Won't go with them again or with who Costco works with. (Steve's Blind's was so much easier and better but these had to be custom sizes, unfortunately). read more

Recieved a call back .Talked with Michelle. They want to charge us a minimum $125 to look at our problem we are having with their product that has a Lifetime Warranty. Why would we be charged for the screws falling and not being able to fasten securely to their product? The screws that they used to fasten the silver railings to the company's top base are falling to the ground which makes the railing lag from the top base. read more

Like others I was referred here through Costco so I trusted the pricing would be good and so would the quality. Jack was a helpful sales person and answered our questions but the price seemed high. But with the cash back card, decided to sign the contract for shutters. After thinking about it more, found the Yelp reviews about poor service and decided to cancel within the 3 day cancellation period. THANK GOD WE DID. Started looking at comparison quotes and they were MUUUCH cheaper. Costco should not be referring customers here. read more

They have no desire to repair or replace the product once it is sold. Not sure if there are new owners etc. but previously it was incredibly easy to have my roll up blinds sold through Costco replaced. And it's a terrible product I would never buy those again btw- the cords have frayed, the roller mechanism has broke etc. After phoning and being patient with three people and being told three different things, I sent an email. I was expected to remove each broken blind and provide numbers etc. I am not capable of making this happen, gave explanation and asked for the technician to come out for the $125 fee. Sent follow up email. The response is essentially they don't want to do anything, admit those mistakes, owners on vacation etc. I would go anywhere else for any other product and specifically do not use Costco Graber if work is done via Drapery Works if you expect any sort of repair/warranty etc. Great opportunity to give a local business without a big corporate connection your money. read more

If there was a No Stars - that would be my rating. This has been a terrible and frustrating experience. We placed our order September 29th and were quoted a 6-8 week window for installation. Understandable in the middle of a pandemic. 16 weeks later, I'm still having to call to follow up. I called to follow up at week 8 and was told the sales person quit and everything has been blamed on her since. However, the customer service has been terrible with no communication from them on the status of my order. I placed this order through Costco, believing that it would be a better quality experience. That was a wrong assumption on my part. I understand employee turn over and delays. I don't understand ghosting customers who have already paid in full the order, and not completing the project. Multiple promises made, multiple promises broken does not create customer loyalty. read more

Gary came to my house for an initial consultation and he was very knowledgeable about all the pleating options available to bring my aesthetic in mind to fruition. Sept of 2019 my wife purchased vertical blinds from Drapery Works in Costa Mesa. Cost was $3,811.00. My wife passed away in 2020. Two of the vertical blinds started squeaking when opening them. Also the sash that goes through the header would hang down when open. After the passing of my wife I was unable to call Drapery Works until I found the purchase order. November of 2021i found the purchase paper work. I called them and was told that the vertical blinds were guaranteed for one year. But for $125.00 they would send someone out to look at the problem. Or I could take the verticals down and bring them in. One of the problem ones was 10 ft long. At 87 years old I did not think climbing a ladder and taking the verticals down would be a good idea. So $3,800.00 and only guaranteed one year. The verticals were purchased through Costco. I contacted Costco. No help. read more

If there were a 0 star option I would consider it. Jack our sales guy was great but it failed to mention the poor customer service that would follow. It looks more than 12 weeks to get everything installed. I had to call multiple times to follow up on the my order. I talked to Paul who never call me back. I spoke with Jessica, the Office Manager, who assured me she would follow up. Jessica originally tried to blame FedEx. In the end, I still had to call Jessica back but she forgot what my issue was so I had to remind her all over again. I was told an installer called out. I was told it was the receptionist's fault. I am still waiting for my last install which was supposed to be here today between 9-11 and now is re-scheduled to 2-4. The solar blinds work great. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would order the solar blinds from somewhere else. It's been an exhausting and frustrating experience dealing with this Costco vendor. I had a very bad experience with the sales Claire. She is so mad and mean. I never met a person like her in my life before particular for a sales! I want order some new curtain for my father in law's house and we schedule her come for choosing fabric and measure the size. When she come firstly she hate my dogs. Secondly everything she said is mad. I trying to ask her if I can see the material first and if I see anything I like she can start to measure and that won't waste her time ! She just told me I don't need to tell her how to do her job ! She wants measure first and let me choose fabric. Also she is so mad because English is my second language and two words she said I don't know the different. The way she speak is so mean..... and she think is really hard to communicate with me lol. But I never had someone feel that before! I don't think my English is that bad ! Lol At the end, she told me she gonna go to her car get some sample for me to choose and she never came back......... I wait her 2 hours for this result that is unbelievable. But I feel sorry that her boss just lost a 10k dallor deal today ! read more

As a repeat customer of Drapery Works, all I can say is WOW! They are great! I had installed some very beautiful and very expensive window coverings in our living room and master bedroom. This was probably the worst customer service experience of my life. We bought a new home and needed all of the windows covered but weren't sure exactly what we wanted. I told the woman that came to my house I wanted quotes on a few different things (2 types of blackout in the bedrooms, 2 types of non blackout in the other rooms) and she was totally confused and made me write down window by window what I wanted. She told me it would take 6 days to get a quote together, but then didn't send it to me. I had to call her three times, and finally got through to her 11 days later. She refused to give me a quote! She said she couldn't until I knew exactly what I wanted. Of course what I wanted depended on the price. When I told her I was not going to use them unless I got a quote she gave me a few ballpark estimates. Annoyed, I called a few other places. Only then did I realize how truly terrible drapery works is. The other people that came measured our windows in less than a quarter of the time as the drapery works rep. Also everyone else explained certain issues to me -- ie a shutter wouldn't for on this window, you'd have to do an outside mount for this one if you want shades, etc. The drapery works rep didn't seem to be aware of any of these issues. Moreover the ballpark quote I got from drapery works was about three times more than the next most expensive quote. In conclusion I have no idea why one would choose this place over any alternative. *****UPDATE***** The business owner questioned whether I was reviewing my experience with DW Costa Mesa, so I'm reiterating that indeed my experience was with this location. read more

I've had very positive experiences working with companies that contract with Costco in the past, but working with Drapery Works has been by far the worst. The sales person was knowledgeable, but the installation and customer service thereafter was horrendous. I ordered blinds for my entire home in February and due to the wrong blinds being ordered and damaged blinds being delivered, my order wasn't completed until July. The gift card offerings from Costco might seem enticing, but it's not worth the hassle of working with this company. My advice to this company is to hire additional customer service support staff and follow-up with your customers in a timely manner. An order shouldn't take 5 months to complete. read more

The process started back around July of 2022. I had heard an advertisement on Dennis Prager's radio program in LA and as per the ad would receive his new book with an order. I set up an appointment by calling direct, and then seemed to be confused for a Costco generated lead when I was texted an appointment confirmation. Jack our sales rep seemed great at first. I notified him that we wanted motorized shades, and that our recently remodeled house had been pre wired from the attic to each window to provide direct power for a clean installation. That said, I needed blinds with motors and whatever other hardware was required so that the blinds would operate upon installation. I planned on having a smart home set up and wanted to make sure anything I was purchasing would be compatible and eventually work with Control 4. We wanted to see how the blinds turned out, so only ordered for about half our home. We ordered 1 manual roll up shade, and 5 motorized shades, with 3 remotes and a hub for smart home connectivity. Cost was just shy of $6k. Fast forward a few months when the blinds were ready for install and the guys (subcontractors hired through Drapery Works...from what I understood) who came out to install them weren't able to finish the job because at least 2 of the blinds didn't fit due to being measured wrong by Jack the sales rep. They also had no information or hardware for me to hook up the wires in the attic to the required transformer to convert 120V to 24V to drive the blind motors. So they left my house and I had a partially installed job with only the manually operated blind that was able to work. It was going to take many weeks to reorder new sizes. During that time, I called Jack to explain to him that I also needed whatever system Somfy sold to work with and operate the motorized blinds he sold me. He should have made sure I would have what was needed to operate these blinds before they were ready for install. After all, what good are motorized blinds if I don't have the complete package to actually make them operate. Jack proceeded to tell me that they don't handle any electrical, etc. (BTW - a competing company that I used to install blinds in my back house months before I started this process with Drapery Works, installed hard wired blinds soup to nuts and programmed them for me before leaving.) I let Jack know at this point after realizing that I wasn't going to get a complete install of my blinds when they were done...to just sell or tell me what transformer and circuit board I needed that would work with the Somfy motors I had just bought..and that I would install the wires and make the connections myself. I had already done all the 120V wiring and put a plug in the attic for a transformer to plug directly in to....so all they would have had to do was connect my low voltage wires to the Somfy sold circuit board and transformer which would then just need to be plugged in to the plug I had installed in the attic. He eventually said he would get someone out there that could get it hooked up for me, even though that isn't something they they usually do. How can you sell motorized blinds and not provide a service that gives customers the compete install package? Again, I reiterate an electrician at this point wasn't needed, as any installer wouldn't even be handling live or high voltage anything...they would merely be installing everything that was needed to operate the blinds they sold, minus the electrical hook up. Jack ended up saying it would probably be cheaper to get the power pack unit I needed online from somewhere other than their company, as it would be less expensive. I ended up finding out exactly what I needed and then ordered it online. Weeks later when the 2 re ordered blinds came in, I set up an install time and the same 2 guys who first came out to install opened up the box and the blinds were there, but the motors were not...so they had to reschedule and have the office find out where the missing motors were. I received a call later in the day from a lady in their offices who said they found the motors and wanted to schedule another time to install. I was slightly fed up at this point with all the back and forth, and told them i'd call when I had time after finding time to install the power pack in my attic that they couldn't or wouldn't. There was no follow up from Jack the sales guy to get me the installer who could handle "electrical" or make sure I was all set to power my blinds once installed. Another month or so went by and i noticed that they had charged the remaining balance I owed on my credit card before they had completed the installation...so I had to call them and tell them to refund the money until they had completed the install. At this time I was told that the company had recently been acquired by another blind company and they were working to get things in order. We recently had new solar shades installed in our living room. Our sales rep, Adrienne came to our house with several books full of samples. Once we chose the shades that we wanted, we were told that it would be 5-6 weeks for delivery. Less than 4 weeks later, we received a call that our shades were in and we could arrange a date for installation. A couple of days later, Bobby came out to install the shades on our 8 living room windows. He had them installed and adjusted in under two hours, He was very friendly and professional and he did an outstanding job with the installation. A few weeks later, we decided that we wanted to get some shades for our downstairs bedroom. We called Adrienne back and chose the shades we wanted. Bobby came back out to install today. Again, he did a great job and was in and out very quickly. We couldn't be happier with Drapery Works, Adrienne, and Bobby. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for window treatments. read more

I had a strange request for Japanese style drapes. I brought them the material and my request for the dimensions. Today I picked up the finished product. It was their imagination as well as attention to detail that ended up with the result far better than I dreamed of. He walled though the home, measured the windows, went over color ideas, and what would work best for each room. We looked through a book for design ideas and he helped with everything. If it were possible to post a -1 rating I would certainly do so. The problems were too numerous to adequately describe. It was the worst purchase transaction I've ever made. I cannot understand how Costco could use this vendor for providing window treatments. My purchase of Plantation Shutters through them was a major challenge. In the final analysis, it took 5 months to have the 4 to 6 week project completed. A bazillion lies and excuses. The pricing (after being lied to) was considerably higher than other vendors had quoted and the actual value was considerably less. Do yourself a "Favor" and stay clear of these folks. You'll be better served to do business with a "Reputable Company". This is nort one of them. read more

Bad customer service is an understatement. I have been trying to get my shutter order completed now for over a YEAR! They have mismeasured and attempted to retrofit a new cut apart shutter to fit in my window. I am now filing a complaint with the BBB. I am thankful that I purchased through Costco who is now working with me to attempt to get my shutter order to all match and be complete, and will take this further on reviewing this company for further referrals. The owner Gary has been extremely rude to me, called me names and hung up on me. The office staff continues to tell me different stories about my order and puts me off never returning my phone calls. We ordered Graber shutters from Costco. Graber then had Drapery Works do the consultation and a followup appointment where the installer took exact measurements. Graber normally takes 6-8 weeks from the time of measurements to deliver the shutters to Drapery Works. We added an additional shutter so that increased the manufacturing time. Tony and assistant did a perfect installation - they are quick and clean. My relations with Costco have been great, if you have a problem, ask to have it escalated to a higher authority. read more

Horrible customer service, do not spend your money here. We paid $8K for roller shades through Costco. We ordered our shades in May, it is now Sep 16 and the installation is still not complete. The initial install was a disaster - we couldn't close two windows because of improper installation, one of the shades fell about four inches after installation, there were missing and damaged parts such that two widows were left without coverings for almost two months until the pieces were delivered. I am still waiting for a replacement of a damaged piece. The customer service is nonexistent, they do not return calls or emails, they do not follow up when they say they will. I've never experienced such disregard, especially after spending so much money. Costco should remove them as a vendor. Beware, take your money somewhere else. read more

I would avoid this company. Their time estimates have been completely off. I have to email and follow up numerous times to get anything done. My blinds were supposed to be ready in 3-4 weeks, yet I had to wait about three months for some of them. The guy who came to quote us started completely failing to respond. He also had an appointment with us one morning early before work, and then called 20 min after the appt time to say he wasn't coming. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate seeing as though I had told work I would be in late for it. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews for any business...but after spending thousands of $'s and incurring a considerable amount of my time having our electric blinds installed twice (with no follow up subsequently), I feel that it's imperative for others to know about this Costco affiliate. Not going to waste too much time here because we have already wasted way too much! In a nutshell, Jessica you should be fired on how treat your Customers, your boss should be let go as well for allowing to carry on this way. Jack the sales guy, nice guy, but he should of told us from the onset that there were issues with the logistics of our blinds area, before having us sign up. We had two installs and we are still NOT happy with the final result. Spending $4,000 on a half ass job, is disappointing to say the least; especially again when you attempt to follow up with Drapery Works and they go silent! It took me reaching out again, to ask why DW were not getting back to us to resolve the issues. I could go on about a Supervisor who came in, who I had to show that the line of the blinds was on an angle...apparently he was ok it, I wasn't! I am so upset and annoyed working with this company. First, I didn't choose them to begin with...Costco did that for me. Second, the sales person measured wrong so my motorized shade beam was installed incorrectly. Hence, the company had to order another one. Third, they have been giving me a run around saying that first my order was lost so they had to order it again...then this happen a second time and they call me on the day of saying my order is not in so they can't install....WHAT!!! I needed a blind for a south-facing kitchen window. It was a small job so I didn't think anyone would want to bother to come out to give me a quote. I went through Costco and they sent Marie from Drapery Works to my house. The company even called me prior to the meeting with Marie. Marie was on time and very helpful. The blind was going behind the sink so it had to be easy to clean, waterproof and also needed to block the light in the late afternoon. Marie made great suggestions and helped me get the right product. The blind arrived two weeks earlier than promised and the scheduled installation went smoothly. Jason (sorry if I messed up on his name), came on time even though there was a mix up on the street name. He installed the blind beautifully despite my uneven walls. DO NOT GO HERE! My husband and I had just purchased our first home and were eager to get blinds up. We found Drapery Works, thought it was a decent place and better that they were local. To our detriment we didn't shop around due to timing. At first everything was great, the guy we worked with was very nice, quick and efficient. Then when it came time for our blinds to ready..they were late. We had to call to find out what was going on, when they finally arrived we set an appt for installation, which was on a saturday. We waited around all day, called the office, and the lady said they were on their way..another 2 hrs later I called again, spoke to another lady who told me that I had never set an appt! These people have REALLY BAD communication with each other..They finally figured it out and the guy showed up 6 hrs later. Then one of the blinds was defective, so they said they would rush it back to have it fixed and get it back to us in a week. 4 weeks passed and we heard NOTHING from them. I called to find out what was going on. First she tells me they haven't received them, then calls me back to say that they had them all along and didn't know...really!?!?! I am beyond frustrated with these people. There are have been more incidents with them, but all in all I will tell you that I would never recommend them to anyone. And through all this horrible customer service, unorganized people, and delayed installs they never offered us anything back or discount. Next time we will shop around and try to find a place where people actually know what they are doing. read more

I am an avid Costco shopper and have been for decades. Pretty much, I trust Costco in everything when it comes to purchases, including the trade shows and other outside businesses that do business within the warehouse. In September, my husband and I were shopping when we saw a Custom Blinds table advertising in the warehouse about blinds. We were considering getting new blinds, but seeing it was through a reputable source (costco) we made an appt to have a consultation. The prices we were quoted seemed high, but again we trusted Costco would be the best price and did not bother to look on Yelp. We ordered two plantation shutters and 4 blinds in our house coming out to $2000. This was on Sept. 1. Forward to today (11/10) - we have STILL yet to receive our plantation shutters. We have called the company, Drapery Works, several times, and dealt with poor communication and customer service from the company. Each time we call to follow up on out blinds, which were promised within 10-12 wks , which would have been 11/1, they would tell us it is just an estimate and they do not know. This is ridiculous! We are extremely disappointed with how this business is running - we dont know when are blinds will be done, and they wouldnt even tell us when the Costco card would be available - half the time they do not even answer the phone. This is not a company I would associate with Costco, and unfortunately, my trust has been tarnished with Coscto - not everything they sell is a better deal and quality... read more
