I'm a bit puzzled by some of the negative comments here. Not the experience my friend and I had today (Saturday morning). Diners have personalities and maybe some folks are not used to that. I would say don't review a diner as if you are reviewing a 4 start restaurant. This is actually one of four diners owned by four sisters. Perhaps the best known is the Owl Diner in Lowell. The others are Rosie's Diner at Vinal Square in Chelmsford and Martha's Diner in Ellsworth ME, not far from Acadia National Park. I've been to all four as of today - and enjoyed them all. We were served by Bridget, one of the sisters, although her daughter is actually the owner now. Bridget makes you feel like instant family! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. I don't usually like sitting at the counter, but am glad we did as it was a high energy experience and we had a very warm welcome. The place was very busy, which for a diner is usually a very good sign! I had the 2 eggs with corned beef hash with home fries and sourdough toast. It was excellent, and to my taste I thought the home fries were much better than most I have had - not excessively toasted on the outside. The only minor nit was the eggs were closer to over easy than the over well that I ordered, but hey, that is what the bread if for! To me not really a big issue. Where do I even begin??? I went here a couple Tuesdays ago and now I'm kicking myself because I haven't been going here consistently. My office is right down the road and I decided to stop by. The atmosphere was perfect and I was greeted by the owner who made it a point to remember everyone by name. (Now Thats impressive.) I ordered this shredded steak omelet and it was heavenly! tasted like a steak and cheese sub with egg substitute for the bread. This is definitely a place I'll be visiting more frequently! read more

Went on a Sunday for brunch. Short wait. Creative menu. Offered coffee in Libby while we waited which was a nice touch. Over priced and cold food. Service was very slow and waitress friendly but very forgetful. She was stretched thin covering a lot of tables. Would not return. read more

The Dream Diner is a favorite breakfast joint. The food is good, plentiful, and reasonably priced. (I usually have something involving corned beef hash.) The restaurant's recent renovation has expanded the interior space and remade the exterior into a classic diner style. It is very aesthetically pleasing. The staff is beyond wonderful, always welcoming and warm, not to mention efficient. It's easy to recommend the Dream Diner, though do note, it gets busy on weekend mornings. read more

I had not been to Dream Diner in a year or so but decided to go back since our usual place was temporarily closed. Last time I was there, it was a cute little breakfast joint with friendly staff and big portions. Today, not so much. While the food was good, the service was terrible. Our waitress/the owner was clearly doing more than just waiting tables. She appeared to also be expediting food, taking food orders and everything else besides tending to her tables. We ordered coffees and juice...got the coffee quickly but had to ask again for the juice. After waiting quite some time to order, we got another tables food first, then ours. My food was good but my husband's was missing the sausage on his sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. We asked 3 different people 3 separate times to get our waitress. We heard them tell her we needed attention but she still didn't come over. We finally told someone else about the issue and asked that the bill be adjusted. When our waitress did finally make it to our table she blamed the waitress who brought our food for not thoroughly checking the order before it was delivered. The worst part about this experience was the infighting among the staff. The owner repeatedly snapped at her staff and they were clearly annoyed based on all of the eye rolling going on. It made for a chaotic and stressful environment, not the relaxing breakfast we had hoped for. read more

My husband and I had a delicious breakfast at Dream Diner. We arrived at 9:30 on a Sunday in October and were seated right away. Our waitress was adorable, friendly, and efficient. We were a little disappointed in the cinnamon bun but will try it again. The food was hot and quick. My husband had the kielbasa and loved it. The coffee was good. Be aware that they only accept tips in cash but accept credit and debit for the rest. We timed it perfectly because we had to navigate through a herd of hungry people when leaving. Plenty of seating so I'm sure they didn't have to wait long. Looking forward to our next trip to the Dream Diner. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for years as I always pass it on the way to the mall. I haven't had the chance to try it due to school or work and today I finally had the chance to. I was excited to try the place from all the reviews I've read and the menu looked yummy. The exterior of the diner is what caught my eye and I thought it would be a cute fun place to have breakfOnce, we got inside we saw the interior and it had a nice rustic feel. After that, the experience went downhill. Our waitress didn't really know the menu too well and the service was just really not there at all. The food however was good. This shouldn't be called Dream Diner but Nightmare Diner instead.. It is true calling it a nightmare was a bit harsh but it is to get my point across. Went back to the dream diner last week. I stopped going a couple of years ago after horrible service, from the owner/manager. (She did everything from wait on other tables first to interviewing job prospects while our food sat and got cold in the kitchen) This time I went for lunch with my 2 grandchildren. We stood waiting for 10 minutes to be seated, while numerous staff walked by and did not acknowledge us. The owner finally showed us where to sit, but did not give us menus, or anything else. After waiting another 20 minutes, I asked a server if we could order. She was very nice and at least offered us menus. Our food took another 15 minutes and by then they were 15 minutes from closing, which the owner didn't mind telling us. The food was excellent, our server, who was new, did her best, but the owner's attitude will prevent us from ever going back. BTW my grandchildren were very well behaved the whole time. Perhaps if they weren't we would have been served a lot faster. read more

The renovation is almost complete, and this old fashioned diner finally has looks in par with the food. Wonderful in both cases! I love that you can have breakfast all day - and that my hubby could have lunch instead. The food tastes great and the quantities are huge. Probably one of the busiest and yet best all-day-breakfast places around. The menu is chock full of all your favorites, but don't hesitate to ask for something out of the ordinary. Thank you Dream Diner for starting our 2018 off on the right foot! We came by for late breakfast New Year's Day after passing the sign in Rte 3 on our way to our hotel. Super glad we did! Six of us, 4 adults, 2 teen boys and we walked out STUFFED with good food and smiles on our faces. Bridget (with one T) was our waitress and kept the coffee cups full and gave great ordering suggestions. I ordered the Bridget Bennie - eggs Benedict one with a big ole slab of ham and one with Pastrami. The eggs were done to perfection, the hollandaise sauce looked suspect (not really a creamy yellow that I was used to) but tasted really good, the pastrami was pretty much perfect - not too salty, greasy or fatty. I also ordered one of the grilled cinnamon buns for the table to share - life changing amazing. And a Bloody Mary - pretty damn tasty with a nice kick! The husband ordered an eggs Bennie dish that was mine + an Bennie with shaved steak. The kid ordered what looked like a breakfast sampler plate, but full sized! He said it was all very tasty but the waffle was stand out the best. Bottom line is we will be returning for sure. Fantastic diner - well done! read more

I've gone past the Dream Diner for years on Middllesex Street and decided to try it out for the first time. I went there two weeks ago with two of my friends Carrie and Elia. First when we got there, we were greeted right away by the staff and got coffee asap , as soon as we all were seated. For breakfast I has two scrambled eggs with wheat toast, bacon, and potatoes, it was the best homemade meal I've ever had, My two friends Carrie and Elia had Banana Pancakes with homefried potatoes which they loved. I have been here a few times. I've had "The Dream," which is a BIG breakfast that is very good. I LOVE the eggs benedict, but the eggs Florentine is my favorite. Their eggs are perfectly poached and the Hollandaise sauce is spectacular. The service is good as well. They are always busy, but it gets very crowded on weekends. They will serve you coffee while you are waiting for a seat. I really want to try the lunch menu, so I will have to go back! read more

Not good. The food was sub par, hastily made and poorly prepared. The service was, well, terrible. Our waitress hardly spent two seconds at the table for any interaction, it seemed like we were interrupting her day by being there. The place was crowded and loud, I get the appeal of a 1950s style diner but when it's blasted out of speakers so loud you can't hear your partner speak, it's hard to enjoy. The service was just too hasty and rushed. For example, the iced water was not cold at all and had maybe two cubes in it, the toast was hardly toasted at all, just slightly warmed, the home Fries were the boiled kind, and when asked for fried ones, we were just given the same thing again. And the waitress was actively avoiding our table when we were clearly upset with the whole situation, rather than trying to help and make our experience better. My sister and I went there and both had fried scallop plate. The scallops were over cooked and the batter was falling off. The cole slaw was horrible and my broccoli was cold. Had to ask for butter, lemon and tarter sauce. Could not believe what I paid for this meal. It cost me $39.99 for scallop plate (scallops, cole slaw and french fries), cup of fish chowder and a diet coke. Scallops were a special so my fault I did not ask price. Reason being was lobster role was $22 so I figured scallop plate about the same. All in all with tip it cost me almost $50 for my meal that I got at a diner. My sister the same. My parents and I went to the Dream Diner for the first time yesterday. We have been dealing with alot of pains lately and this day was a celebratory day for us, a step into a new direction. We decided to start with breakfast at a new place and upon entering we were warmly welcomed by the staff. When we sat an enthusiastic woman named Bridget came to our table, welcomed us as new customers, asked our names and then introduced us to the regulars. She took extra care in the little things, our coffee was always hot and refilled, she made suggestions that made our meals more delicious and kept us smiling through our whole visit. The food was delicious. Mom got the french toast which is served with powdered sugar, I got the shortstack pancakes which were fluffy and light, Dad got the linguica omelet which came with big peices of meat inside. The mimosa and hawaiian mimosa were very delicious. We are excited for our next visit to see Bridget! read more

I came in here on a Monday ( I think ) looking for a place to have breakfast in the afternoon. I happened to find this place driving so I went in. The environment was very welcoming and not awkward at all as it was my first time there ... when I walked in, our waitress greeted me and my friend like we were old friends and gave us a rundown of all the specials and what to get and what's popular. We received our food / drinks rather quickly but everything was cooked phenomenally. Our waitress Doreen was extremely nice and welcoming and asked how our food was and if everything came out okay. By the end of our meal, we had everybody at the diner saying " hi so and so " cause it was our first time there and it was rather sweet. Definitely going there again. read more

I will first start out saying the food is awesome and the decor is fantastic but what most had me was the service. Never have I ever been to a diner let alone any establishment where they are so engaging with their patrons that you actually feel like you have known them your entire life. Doreen was the best waitress I have ever encountered. I wanted to put her in my pocket and take her home. If I wouldn't have gotten in trouble for kidnapping I really would have given it a shot! Lol.. But seriously, she was so sweet and spicy and had that mothering nurture to her that you could just sit and soak up all day long. Then comes Blondie... The owners mother, what a hoot and a hollar that one is. Watching and listening to the two of them work the room was absolutely magical. I would highly recommend stopping in if you haven't already. This Diner is so clean with this pandemic we're going through times are tough for everyone. While dining here i have seen the staff clean and sanitize all the tables before and after people are seated washing their hands in between and they have sanitizing stations set up around the restaurant. I love this diner i've been coming here for a little while now and I try to go at least once or twice a week plus every weekend, they make me feel like family always remember my name as soon as i walk everyone says "Hi Logan" and am greeted with a warm cup of coffee. When i get my food its really hot everything is homemade and taste amazing. I think everyone should come by the diner and try it for themselves and be your own judge because you wont regret it. read more
