I'd compare this to any other kabob place in the area. The chicken and beef kabobs/koobideh were both good. Meats were tender and juicy. The lamb was juicy but a bit too charred and ended up being bitter. I forget what the eggplant dish is called. It was ok but needed a bit more flavor. Service was good. I love the food! The koobeidh kabobs are so fresh and I love there tahdig (burnt rice). I come here very often and I am very impressed with the quality, quantity and taste. I asked the waiter if the lamb shank was fresh, and he confirmed it was. When the lamb shank arrived, it was steaming, and the waiter emphasized its freshness because of the steam. However, while eating, I noticed that one side of the lamb shank was refrigerator cold. I had no idea how long it had been in the fridge. I decided not to mention this to the waiter since I wasn't planning to return. When I went to pay, my bill, which included the $21.99 lamb shank, an orange juice, and an ice water, totaled $41. Upon checking the receipt, I saw that I had been charged $11 for the orange juice and an additional $5.50 as a tip which he didn't even ask if I wanted to tip or not. After chatting with him for a few minutes he told me he knew someone I know who runs a Mediterranean restaurant in West Covina. Small world right? If you want delicious authentic Persian food without having to drive into town, this is the place to go. We at here with our boys and I have to say, they rarely clean their plates. The service is great as it seems to be a family owned and run mom and pop restaurant. I also bought some delicious tea and Saffron sugar candy they had on display! I almost gave 4 stars as it is pricey compared to other similar places we've eaten. I know it's a different style, but I also prefer the chicken to be minced and flavored like the beef Kabab. Things I ordered: koobideh beef plate boneless chicken jooje plate tongue sandwich kashkeh bademjoon (eggplant) most e museer (shallot yogurt) most o khiar (cucumber yogurt) hummus I really wanted to try different items on their menu. I have to say it was less than I expected. The chicken boneless kabob only had 5 little pieces and it was over $15. For charging that much you need to include a little more meat. The chicken had a bitter after taste. The koobideh was okay. It was nice to get 2 skewers for the $20 price tag. The rice was delicious, soft, fluffy, and buttery. Great flavor. My favorite of everything I tried. The yogurts were bland. They needed more seasoning. The most o khiar needed mint leaves and more salt and pepper or something. It needed more eshgh (love). The most o museer did not have enough shallots and was not seasoned properly either. BLAND. SOS send help. The bademjoon was very oily and under seasoned as well. It was nice they included the mint and kashk, but needs less oil and it had a bitter after taste like some of the other items I ordered. (Maybe an issue with the oil they use - try switching to avocado oil please) The hummus was super garlicy, but did not have enough lemon juice and salt. It was very thick and it was all beans and garlic. The tongue sandwich barely had any tongue. It was all onions and had way too much turmeric. You need more meat, less turmeric. Overall, this place has a lot of potential, but they really need to fine tune their recipes. I hope my constructive criticisms are put into action. Currently, there are better options for iranian food in DFW. I hope the food gets better since this place is close to my house. This is where you actually can't judge a book by its cover. Sony let's the looks of the restaurant make you judge the food. The food is AMAZING!! We ordered the family platter and the kabobs were juicy, tender, delicious, and reminded my mom of when she went to Iran and ate this food. The rice was nice and soft, buttery, and so flavorful. The char on the tomatoes and the kebabs were out of this world. We were first judging the good by looking at the restaurant, but trust me, we were wrong. My mom has been in search for this type of food that tastes the same like the kebabs and rice she ate in Iran when she was little and she claimed, "this food reminded me of my childhood when I went to Iran and it is the same, delicious, tender, juice, and fresh.
