Good drinks, friendly owner. I got the Jasmine Green Tea (cold) & my hubby got the Signature Milk Tea with boba. He said it was GREAT boba LOL. I notice other ppl commenting on the boba quality as well. They also have snacks & food. Looks like the space is mainly used by college kids for studying. It's a bit cluttered but I wouldn't mind coming back to get drinks again & checking out their food selections. Tommy the owner is very accommodating & helpful.

My friend and I came here to get some milk tea to drink. It was easy to find street parking, and they're located at a corner. When we came in, we were immediately greeted. We looked at the menu and made the order there (there are kiosks). We waited at the seating in the front, and the drinks were brought to us. We got the Hokkaido Milk Tea and Hot Cocoa Milk Tea. They were very good drinks.

Such a nice kind-hearted soul was the Owner. He had patience for my grandkids as they wondered OUT LOUD what they should get. They ended up with the Taro Smoothie and proclaimed it was the best Boba ever! From the few sips I had it was pretty tasty. There is seating inside with couches and I did see some people ordering actual food (I believe) parking is street parking. Respectfully Reviewed.

My husband and i got the watermelon and coconut passion fruit smoothies with lychee, and OMG they were delicious! Far exceeded our expectations, they were so refreshing and so filling with how much came in the cup. Kelli was super sweet & friendly and made us feel very welcome in her shop. There's lots of cute sitting areas to choose from. Will definitely return when we are in the area!

A small group of us stopped by to try a new tea shop. The tea was good, but average. The boba was very bland and tasteless. This was especially upsetting since the gentleman who was helping us was pushy about upselling to a second scoop of boba. If the boba had been good, the extra cost would have been okay, but it ended up being a waste of money. It is a good place to stop for tea, but pass on the boba, especially since they don't include it in the cost of the beverage.

Amazing little spot right by Pasadena City college. Calm music when you enter and an enthusiastic Taiwanese owner! We tried the grapefruit lychee fruit tea with lychee and the strawberry smoothie with boba. We also tried the black sesame crunches--yummy! Parking a bit tight--just 2 parking spots in front but if you are at PCC you can easily walk over. We even got a free cell phone holder for the car!! Check it out.

HaiCha Tea is located at 12 Harkness Avenue Pasadena, California 91106. It is located a few steps north of Colorado Boulevard. This business is worth the short walk from Pasadena City College. This is a small cozy respite away from the problems of the day. The atmosphere, the delicious herbal teas, smoothies, and friendly service are appreciated by all of its patrons. I was happy to discover HaiCha Tea when I was looking for another location in the area. I looked up its reviews and was amazed at the number of perfect reviews. Quite an achievement for a place that has been in business for a number of years. Clearly this business knows how to take care of its people through great family Taiwanese recipes and old fashioned good service. I was greeted with a warm welcome as I entered the business. After ascending three steps, I entered a small room with a calm atmosphere. With calming music playing and the sound of running water I felt like I was in a meditation room. After talking with the gentleman about the menu, I decided to try the cold Strawberry Herbal Tea. After a short time he graciously brought over my order. He was eager to see if my Strawberry Tea was to my liking...it was perfect - tasty and refreshing. On another visit I was able to fully experience the best smoothie that I have ever tasted! It was a dairy-free Taro Smoothie. What a vision piled high and packed with flavor. On another hot day I was looking for something refreshing and light. The owner suggested the High Mountain Oolong tea. A perfect selection - cool, light, and refreshing. I look forward to coming back and trying other teas, smoothies, and coffee drinks. Street parking is available but this location is a nice walk from PCC or anywhere in the vicinity.

What an ABSOLUTE GEM of a tea/boba/coffee shop in Pasadena! Walking in, the smell of brewed tea and warm sugar just hugs you. Unassuming space, but such a warm and friendly welcome from the owner, Tommy. He exudes such enthusiasm and pride in his products that it is contagious. I ordered the HaiCha Milk Tea 50% sweet with boba, and truly, it's quite perfect. This drink is made with a blend of black and oolong teas. The tea flavor comes through the milk extremely well. The boba are perfectly chewy, bouncy, and this may sound odd, but round and slippery. You would think that all boba are this way but no. We have all had boba where the surface is sticky or squished with flat sides--like eating little gummy dodecahedrons. Ugh. HaiCha's boba are perfectly bouncy, slippery spheres, which is exactly how they should be. Tommy the owner is Taiwanese and imports all of his tea and boba from Taiwan. He brews all of his teas daily and of course, cooks the boba daily. He also makes these delicious Taiwanese snacks: coconut crunchy and sesame crunchy. Slightly sweet and full for nutty goodness! They definitely feed one's nostalgia for Taiwan. There are quite a few boba shops in the Pasadena area, and I have tried many of them. So far, HaiCha is clearly the winner when it comes to authentic Taiwanese tea and boba. It helps that the owner's love and belief in the product is so genuine. FYI: This shop opens surprisingly early, at 8:30am, every day. Apparently, there are coffee drinkers that come in for their morning Joe before work or class. I forgot to ask him when boba is ready everyday. Will ask next time!

Thiiiiiiiiiiis sweet man...we pulled up 8 minutes to close and he was *in* his car trying to go home and STOPPED his car to ask us to wait so he could come back and open up just for us OMG... He wouldn't take no for an answer, so we ordered a Mango Smoothie and a HaiCha Milk Tea (25% sweet). They really care about their customers here! As for the smoothie...these are SO much fun! Piled high like a smoothie tower. Basically two smoothies in one! A steal for the price, really. The mango flavor was nice, the sweetness level was good and not overwhelming, even at 100%. The boba are well cooked, but could use more flavor & sweetness of their own. I would try the strawberry one next time. The HaiCha Milk Tea was a great level of sweet for me at 25% (my usual order anywhere) and had a nice light tea flavor. I would try other tea flavors next time, as they had several that looked good, as well as some.black sesame crunch treats that looks snackable! I would come back here for the fun of the smoothie, especially with friends! Since he was closing, we walked across the street to enjoy our drinks in the shade outside the college and it was delightful. This is a fabulous location.

I was at a Yelp event. I met a new Yelpie friend. She recommended HaiCha. Thank you miss! That same day, on my way out of the City of Pasadena, I decided to come here and support HaiCha. The owner, Tom, saw me outside taking photos and kindly invited me to come inside. Upon entry, he greeted me warmly and with a welcome gift. Thank you Tom for your kindness and generosity! It's a quaint little tea shop with limited inside seating. There is street parking... remember to read the posted signs. Drink options are plenty... milk tea, brewed tea, smoothies, coffee, etc. I couldn't decide because every drink look so good. I asked Tom for his recommendation. He said the most popular is the HaiCha Milk Tea so I had to get that one for me. I got 2 other drinks for my daughters. They loved their drinks. As for me, HaiCha Milk Tea was top-notch tasting! I can taste the authentic tea flavor combined with the smooth milk and toppings. So refreshingly good! Thanks for the recommend. HaiCha Milk Tea + brown sugar + boba Peach Tea + lychee jelly Roasted Oolong Milk Tea + crystal boba Besides drinks, they have a few food items, too. I also saw bags and bags of black sesame crunchy. I love black sesame. I ended up getting 3 bags plus a bag of loose tea leaves. I have already eaten all 3 bags of black sesame crunchy. So addictingly delicious and yummy!! I haven't opened the tea bag yet. I'm sure it'll be refreshingly delightful. As I was leaving the shop, Tom gave me a "come back soon" gift. He is too kind. Thank you again Tom for the cool gifts! I couldn't ask for a better experience... super friendly owner and great service, cool ambiance, amazing drinks, delectable snacks, authentic tea, and wonderful free gifts! I highly recommend HaiCha. I will be back the next time I'm in the Pasadena area. If you haven't tried HaiCha, think no more... just come on over and support them! Btw, guess who I saw here? My Yelpie friend who recommended me here. It was great to see her here, too. So cool!

Found this place while trying to find a boba place after work. I thought it was interesting that this place had 5 star reviews, but I can see why. The owner is very sweet and very attentive to his guests. He made sure we were comfortable while we waited for our drinks. He said he had just opened the shop in June, so it's a brand new spot and he's trying to gain local support. Returned here after a 10 day vacation and I was sure to try many foods on my trip. I was so eager to come home by the end to get my boba and tea from HaiCha! Nothing on my vacation beat it, from Monterey Bay all the way to Portland. Wanting to try something new, I ordered the Lychee-Peach tea per Tommy's recommendation with brown sugar boba! I usually only do crystal boba for fruit teas, but trusting his word I am floored how much I enjoy the fruit tea and boba together! It tastes so nicely, really complimenting each other. If you aren't sure what to order, ask Tommy and he will not fail! The music he plays here is so relaxing and peaceful, perfect to combat a windstorm. I will be back soon! read more

I saw this place while on break time give a try and it wasn't difficult to find across from carl's jr small place. The owner is very welcoming and very nice. The food is good i get the fish ball it has some meat inside. I usually only like plain tea so i get jasmine green tea , it has the jasmine leaves taste and smell. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend and were greeted by Tommy who was very kind and welcoming! We got the Peach Lychee fruit tea and the Strawberry smoothie. When the strawberry smoothie came out, we were shocked to see that it had been filled over the top to create a smoothie mountain which was very kind of Tommy to do for us. On 5/31/25 my daughter and I came here for our first time to try out the Boba based on reviews. We were so happy with the amazing customer service from a gentleman there. He was so kind and welcoming. He was also so generous and gave us some phone chargers as a welcome gift. I love this tea spot! They have all kinds of smoothies and teas. Different flavors and all at an amazing price. It's right across the local College and is a great hang out spot. They even offer select $5 drinks! There's an older man that is usually around and he is insanely nice! My favorite drink was the Chi-Chi Mango Smoothie. It was sweet, smooth, and had mango chunks and green tea jelly. Their #1 drink - King of Mango Smoothie had grapefruit pulp, which was bitter. All of their drinks were pretty sweet. The Chi-Chi Jasmine Green Tea had a cheese foam top and tasted the least sweet of the three drinks I ordered to share.

Their Peach Oolong and Passionfruit black tea with their jellies. They don't do the typical coconut based small pieces of jelly, instead opting for house made with jelly. The price of these drinks is super reasonable, the tea quality great, and the jellies refreshing and delicious. 2. On the more premium side price wise, the taro milk tea here is nonetheless worth it. They use 100% real taro. No syrup. No powder. On top of that, even compared to other places which use real taro, this is the best iteration of the drink I've had. Subtly earthy and only slightly sweet, creamy, even with oat milk. An incredible drink. The vibe is relaxing and nice. Service is solid to great, depending on who is working. The owner is very kind!!! Seating is pleasant. Parking is the only issue since the city metered everything, but if you're grabbing a going, try the Total Wines or Target lot. You'll be fine. The decor is understated, worn, and very student driven, with a charming sign offering a free milk drink to any student who ordered a full meal during a challenging exam week - how kind [+1 point for service]. We ordered from a screen; call me old fashioned, but I like being greeted and the place wasn't busy enough to justify such a streamlined experience. We ordered the original waffle with vanilla ice cream. It took about 10 minutes as we entertained ourselves with the claw machine and got lucky - twice. The waffle was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a distinct fortune-cookie flavor. It was delicious, and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We did not get a filling nor try the delectable appearing chocolate waffle - next time! Prices were elevated - $8 for the waffle and $2.50 for the ice cream (complete with whipped cream and chocolate syrup), but the unique product was absolutely delicious. While my undergraduate career was 20 years ago, I really can appreciate a place like this. Were I a student at PCC, I would simply live at this establishment. There were quite a few boba shops nearby, but honestly the business name alone caught my attention and made me choose this one. The shop is conveniently located directly across from Pasadena City College, which makes it a great spot for students looking to grab drinks or food between classes. The downside is parking. There's very limited parking in the back and a lot of nearby residential streets have "no parking" signs, so finding a spot can be a little annoying. The shop itself is a decent size and definitely seems popular with students hanging out, studying, or working on assignments. Personally though, the atmosphere didn't feel especially warm or cozy to me compared to some other boba shops I've visited. The layout also felt a bit narrow, which was difficult navigating with my son's stroller. That said, what the shop lacked in atmosphere for me, it definitely made up for with the drinks and food. I ordered a 16 oz jasmine milk tea and even though I had to pay extra for boba (which brought the total to almost $5.50), the drink itself was honestly pretty good. I was also hungry, so I tried the pork buns, which ended up being tasty and surprisingly filling. You get four for around $13. While I do think you could probably get a larger meal elsewhere for the same price, the quality itself was still good. One thing I appreciated is that they have a larger food menu than most boba shops. Besides milk teas and fruit teas, they also offer popcorn chicken, appetizers, soups, rice dishes, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and even ice cream drinks. Customer service was excellent. The staff were polite, efficient, and kind throughout the visit. Overall, I think this is a solid spot for Pasadena City College students looking for a place to study, hang out with friends, or grab a quick meal and boba. There are still have tables if you want to eat or work, so it's a nice study space as well. It's also conveniently located right on Lake and Green, so it's an easy walk from PCC or Caltech. The coffee is Indian-inspired, and the pastries come in a unique blend of flavors, so the offerings here stand out among the many cafes in the area. I recommend the pistachio latte! They also sell gelato, and have a nice array of affogato options, so you get the best of coffee and sweets. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who's looking for somewhere nice to relax with a hot drink or a treat!
