First sip I did taste the strong espresso; however after mixing it was pretty smooth and tasty. Throughout the afternoon I felt the caffeine level decreasing. So adequate for a short pick me up, not recommended to get you through the rest of your day. Cafe was cute & aesthetic, parking is available on the side of the streets and in the back!

On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed.

When I asked the girl at the front if the matcha was supposed to look like that, she said yes because they apparently put something in it to make it thick. She did offer to remake it, but I said no because if the texture was intentional, wouldn't a replacement have been just as slimy? I was later offered a free drink if I emailed them 24 hours in advance. I'll give an extra star for the offer, but no thanks. After getting sick and having such a bad experience, I don't understand why I'd willingly come back for another drink.

I've had hojicha plenty of times and usually love its smooth, roasty flavor, but this one wasn't sweet or creamy enough for my taste and came across a little too straight-up. The raspberry cream on top didn't add much flavor either. I also grabbed a day-old pastry. It was pretty hard and had a slightly stale crème-brûlée-like top, although I'll give it credit -- once warmed up, it was actually pretty delicious. Overall, 3 stars. I like the concept and the convenience, but unfortunately nothing I had was quite good enough to make me want to come back anytime soon.

The menu is also fairly limited, so there aren't a ton of options to choose from. That said, I really enjoyed the Yin-Yang Coffee + Tea. It's a unique combination and probably the drink that stood out the most to me. I also got a chai latte and a matcha donut. The barista doesn't seem like they enjoy being there...so meh on customer service, too.

The chicken was a little dry and would have been better if it was more moist but not a big deal. Really enjoyed how the panini was packed with flavor and tasted delicious! The Matcha Latte ($7) was so disappointing. I requested it with less ice and less sweet so I got it 80% full. It literally tasted like milk and I couldn't taste any matcha at all unfortunately. They used to use very high quality matcha but the matcha used now is completely different. I was really looking forward to enjoying the matcha latte because it used to be one of my favorites but this was most likely the worst matcha latte I've had. Overall, the panini was good but the matcha wasn't good at all so I will definitely not get the matcha again!

The most welcoming and friendly boba shop I've ever visited! Tommy, the owner, greeted me with such warmth and excitement, instantly putting a smile on my face. He went above and beyond, offering thoughtful gifts like hand sanitizers and a phone charger--it was such a kind gesture! But it's not just the hospitality that shines--the milk tea is amazing! My personal favorite is their house milk tea at 25% sweetness with extra grass jelly. The grass jelly, made in-house, has a slight firmness that I really enjoy. We got the Peach & Lychee Green Tea, strawberry smoothie, and the snacks the owner had available -- everything was super delicious and the boba was the perfect texture!!! I loved the snacks, and got some for my mom too. Aside from the deliciousness of the drinks and snacks, I have to mention how friendly and funny the owner, Tommy was. Went here with a friend for the first time this afternoon to try out new Boba places, and this spot did not disappoint. I had the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and the drink was very good and was done quickly. The shop overall had a very cozy vibe and the owner Tommy was very sweet and enthusiastic. Out of all the Boba places around Pasadena City College, this one stands out as underrated and deserving of more attention. I absolutely love this boba shop! The drinks are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just the way I like it. We were both pleasantly surprised at the quality of the teas and the real chunks of mango used. The boba had a perfect chew and the tea jelly had a slightly sweet but strong tea flavor. The shop is very clean and there are a few tables available inside. Service was very quick and we were in and out within a few minutes. Would definitely come back again!

Their Peach Oolong and Passionfruit black tea with their jellies. They don't do the typical coconut based small pieces of jelly, instead opting for house made with jelly. The price of these drinks is super reasonable, the tea quality great, and the jellies refreshing and delicious. 2. On the more premium side price wise, the taro milk tea here is nonetheless worth it. They use 100% real taro. No syrup. No powder. On top of that, even compared to other places which use real taro, this is the best iteration of the drink I've had. Subtly earthy and only slightly sweet, creamy, even with oat milk. An incredible drink. The vibe is relaxing and nice. Service is solid to great, depending on who is working. The decor is understated, worn, and very student driven, with a charming sign offering a free milk drink to any student who ordered a full meal during a challenging exam week - how kind [+1 point for service]. We ordered from a screen; call me old fashioned, but I like being greeted and the place wasn't busy enough to justify such a streamlined experience. We ordered the original waffle with vanilla ice cream. It took about 10 minutes as we entertained ourselves with the claw machine and got lucky - twice. The waffle was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a distinct fortune-cookie flavor. It was delicious, and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We did not get a filling nor try the delectable appearing chocolate waffle - next time! Prices were elevated - $8 for the waffle and $2.50 for the ice cream (complete with whipped cream and chocolate syrup), but the unique product was absolutely delicious. While my undergraduate career was 20 years ago, I really can appreciate a place like this. Were I a student at PCC, I would simply live at this establishment. There were quite a few boba shops nearby, but honestly the business name alone caught my attention and made me choose this one. The shop is conveniently located directly across from Pasadena City College, which makes it a great spot for students looking to grab drinks or food between classes. The downside is parking. There's very limited parking in the back and a lot of nearby residential streets have "no parking" signs, so finding a spot can be a little annoying. The shop itself is a decent size and definitely seems popular with students hanging out, studying, or working on assignments. Personally though, the atmosphere didn't feel especially warm or cozy to me compared to some other boba shops I've visited. The layout also felt a bit narrow, which was difficult navigating with my son's stroller. That said, what the shop lacked in atmosphere for me, it definitely made up for with the drinks and food. I ordered a 16 oz jasmine milk tea and even though I had to pay extra for boba (which brought the total to almost $5.50), the drink itself was honestly pretty good. I was also hungry, so I tried the pork buns, which ended up being tasty and surprisingly filling. You get four for around $13. While I do think you could probably get a larger meal elsewhere for the same price, the quality itself was still good. One thing I appreciated is that they have a larger food menu than most boba shops. Besides milk teas and fruit teas, they also offer popcorn chicken, appetizers, soups, rice dishes, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and even ice cream drinks. Customer service was excellent. The staff were polite, efficient, and kind throughout the visit. Overall, I think this is a solid spot for Pasadena City College students looking for a place to study, hang out with friends, or grab a quick meal and boba. There are still have tables if you want to eat or work, so it's a nice study space as well. It's also conveniently located right on Lake and Green, so it's an easy walk from PCC or Caltech. The coffee is Indian-inspired, and the pastries come in a unique blend of flavors, so the offerings here stand out among the many cafes in the area. I recommend the pistachio latte! They also sell gelato, and have a nice array of affogato options, so you get the best of coffee and sweets. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who's looking for somewhere nice to relax with a hot drink or a treat!
