I want to start saying that I love these cupcakes. Specially the creme brûlée one. The reason of my review is because of sizing which is wrong and misleading. The small size that they advertise it should be called bite size at $4. The "big" size they advertise, it should be called small or regular, this is not big at $7, they cost more than gold. As much as like these, I will not be buying anymore, caviar or gold is cheaper. I do NOT recommend this place.
Of course I found this place on Yelp. Yay to my fellow Yelpers. Picked up some cupcakes for my daughter's birthday and they were DELICIOUS. This was my first time having a vegan dessert and I was shocked by how delicious it actually was. My family had regular cupcakes and they were quite pleased as well. The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because these are some pretty pricey cupcakes. I don't know if I've been out of the loop for a while, but paying $7 for a cupcake is quite pricey to me.
Final day of summer had me craving sweets today. I decided to fulfill a long overdue bookmark and try Dreamy Creations. The tiny cupcake shop is located off the beaten path near Tampa Ave on Business Center drive. It's tucked inside a small warehouse and very unpretentious. Without the sign from the street guiding you, it's easily missable. There were a number of visual-pleasing cupcakes in the case. All reasonably priced at $3.75. I ordered the creme brûlée and black/white. Both were okay and average in my opinion. Though the cake was moist, little fluffy, just the right density to its body, the creativity and taste were lacking. Not a layer of custard and crispy shell texture was on creme brûlée, definitely lacking in character. They also serve frozen custard in a cup (aka "cloud") which can be topped with scrumptious assortment of toppings, including a cupcake. Of course, nothing says summer like a delicious campfire smores cupcake which I decided to order in ice cream formation, called Frosted Cloud - $6.75. I crafted mine with cinnamon ice cream topped with churro bits. OMG! The cupcake ice cream was outstanding and the flavor profile was on point. Overall, I had mixed thoughts on my visits. Though some of their cupcakes didn't win me over, the cloud creation was an enjoyable treat. Hopefully, my return visit in near future will result in better cupcake offerings than simple plain ones.

They show us how to make yummy cupcakes "step by step" including how to do the piping. Totally hands on experience. They answer all our questions about baking. Learning from cupcake expert - PRICELESS!! What a fun time making & decorating our own cupcakes!! YES, we can take the cupcakes & recipe home too!! They also do parties. I tried this place out not really knowing anything about it. I was in the area and saw the sign across the street and had to stop in. I ordered 6 mini cupcakes- strawberry, birthday cake, and cookies & cream (can't remember the exact names). There really wasn't a variety to choose from as there were only a few minis left. The cupcakes were extremely dry. I actually wasn't sure if they were dry or just old. Everyone who tried them also said the same exact thing. I was hoping to be blown away, especially because they've won cupcake wars a few times, but I definitely wasn't. They weren't horrible, but not very good at the same time. Bummer.
My sister lives in the area and has wanted to try Dreamy Creations for a while. They won Cupcake Wars twice and my sister is a cupcake junky. However, her husband doesn't see the point of paying almost $4 for a single cupcake. LOL. ($3.75 each) So when my husband and I came over to visit and have lunch with them, this was the perfect opportunity! LOCATION: We thought we were lost at first and had to pull over to make sure we were going the right way. The café is totally hidden as others have stated in an industrial area. We were pulling into what looked like storage units! The only clue was there was a sign outside with some bright pink balloons. One of the storage unit doors was open and we could see the bar stools and small table there. There's a door to the right and is where you enter. There were already two men inside at the cash register and there were 4 of us. (such a tiny tiny space for 6 people!) My husband asked jokingly if they had Ice Cream cupcakes, and one of the owners Crystal, stated they did! HAHAH At the register, you can look into the back where the bakery is. They also offer baking classes. We ordered: 2- Chunky Monkey 1 - Peanut Butter Cup (seasonal June flavor) 1 - Vanilla Lavender Caramel (seasonal June flavor) 3 - Add Ice Cream ================================= TOTAL: $21.00 I had the Chunky Monkey with ice cream and WOW! It was like eating banana nut bread and there was so much flavor! The light chocolate Italian frosting was exactly that, "light" so that the cake itself was the star of the show. I also tried my husband's Peanut Butter Cup and my sister's Vanilla Lavender Caramel cupcakes. I'm seriously impressed with all the flavors. They also have DOG treats here as well! (Doggie PupCakes and dog bones etc) I agree that they are pricey, but I have bought cupcakes before that were $3.75 and did not meet the expectations while these did. 116/100 Reviews for 2014
The shop is a little hard to find but look for the balloons and the sign! The storefront is small but welcoming. They have a small display of cupcakes and what looks like a huge kitchen are in the back. We stopped by to get a cupcake but discovered their new Cloud which is a custard. We were offered a sample of the red velvet flavor and were blown away at how amazing it tasted. Silky full of flavor and great for a hot day. We were hooked and both bought one. I got the custard that tops a brownie, vanilla with raspberry topping. You get one topping with the order but there is a check in offer on yelp for two free toppings. We did also get the chef's special cupcake and the Creme brûlée to take home. This place rocks. They also have a truck, look out for it!
We are throwing my son a party and realized I can't eat cake because it's not vegan. So it's only logical I get my self some cupcakes to not feel left out. Thankfully they still had some cupcakes! I got 2 vegan cupcakes, a cinnamon dulce de latte and a pumpkin spice cupcake, both which I've had plenty of times. My son got a mini double chocolate cupcake that he loved. We also picked out a sparkle candle for our son's cake, so glad they had them here because I did not want to have to run to party city. It's also nice that they have parking. It love how simple yet really cute their decor, the first thing you see is SWEET HAPPINESS. Defiantly my favorite cupcake shop.
My head perked up when I saw on Cupcake Wars that this bakery was from Northridge. It's kind of cute how they use storage space for its shop. The space is really tiny inside but it is really cute. It's cool how they play the CW show on the TV inside. I love the treats so much that I came twice in three days. Their desserts are so moist and homemade... The first time I came I ended up buying six minis and four large cupcakes. The large cupcakes are 3.75 apiece and the minis are two dollars apiece. I think it is really great how they give you samples here. They even have an amazing creamy frozen dessert called Cloud. My favorite cupcake was the crème brûlée which had a layer of custard and they even torch the crispy shell on top. I had to come back today because they had run out of the Earl Grey cupcake with lavender icing (cupcake only in May!) This place beats Sprinkles!
My cousin took me here when I told her I was craving something sweet. She was raving about this lil spot she found. Well, I don't blame her!! I tried the creme brulee cupcake which I'll admit is decadent. My favorites are the birthday cake flavor and the seasonal banana pumpkin cupcake. Both are positively sinful! I have also tried espresso on top of their vanilla custard. I love how cute the location is with the pink high chairs and the sweet happiness sign. Staff has been more than helpful. They don't put stuff on hold if you call ahead. I found that out the hard way but I'm not gonna elaborate on that. They take credit cards and cash. It is very small inside but don't let that fool you. As for parking there's two designated spots that display dreamy Creations but you can park in any spot that's available on the lot. Lastly, I hate that they're closed on Sunday!
Love the Creme brûlée Cloud! Everyone and their momma needs to try this! Lol literally.. I came in around closing time so I'm glad they had one Creme brûlée left. I didn't try the birthday cake one, I got it for my son. And the other one with the marshmallow on top wasn't that good for my taste. If you like those toppings then I'm sure you'll love it. Just not for me. I'd love to try the cookies and cream or red velvet next time..along with another Creme brûlée (;
The cupcakes here are the best in the valley. Words can't describe how good they are. They also make Vegan Cupcakes. I first tried Dreamy Creations at an Event. They had their food truck or should I say Cupcake truck. I was hooked on them. So I had to go to their store location. Finding this is tricky because their bakerey is near warehouses. In the front driveway entrance you will see a sign as well. Parking is sometimes a hassle because of trucks coming in and out but that's the only thing to complain about. The inside is very small and cozy they have their cupcakes in cases. They have different flavors and sizes. My favorite is Red Velvet and Birthday Cake. My wife loves this places as we because they offer vegan Cupcakes. They are just as good. What I like about this place is they have different flavors each month. Beware though if you like a flavor here they sell fast. You can always buy them on their website or call ahead of time.
Not only were the cupcakes delicious but the staff was kind and thoughtful . Thank you again I messed up the order date for ordering my cupcakes . Thank you again with all other orders coming though you all managed to complete my order that same day . Grateful and appreciated the offer and effort and time to make my order for day I needed.

I was so glad there was a sweets truck at the Beverly Hills Art show. Stopped by for a chocolate chip cookie. And yes My $6 cookie was So delish. Kinda pricey. But trust it was good. They do have many other treats that look good- I will try next time. read more
Tried the Campfire and the Oreo cupcakes and it wasn't anything special. First of all it was really difficult to find. The street is kinda hidden. I parked and had to walk all around to find it. It is too pricey. They need to drop the price by at least $2 per cupcake. What turned me off was that there was a fly around the cupcakes being sold. Overall not a pleasant experience. read more

We've been here twice now and both times the cupcakes have been amazing. This most recent time we decided on the raspberry one and it was delicious. The raspberry filling in the cupcake combined with the sweet and creamy frosting and the moist (sorry!) cupcake was one of the best cupcake experiences I have ever had. Found this place on yelp, pictures looked amazing so I wanted to give this place a try. Got the campfire cupcake and the birthday celebration in a jar and honestly it was nothing special. The decorations were cute but the taste was okay and it was dry. The cost of the jars were ridiculous. I believe it was 7 or 8 bucks for a small tiny jar. read more

I'm very disappointed in Dreamy Cupcakes. Their website says $3 per cupcake. I drove 45 minutes round trip. Once I got home, I realized they'd overcharged me, and I'd paid $5.50 per cupcake. I called and brought the issue to their attention and was told the website was wrong. I was then told large cupcakes are $5.50 and small are $3.50. They only have 1 normal size cupcake size available. Bad customer service, false advertising, ripoff for average at best cupcakes. read more
I can't believe I've had this place bookmarked for so long and never realized where it was located. It's less than two blocks from my house! We walked here the first time we came and were in shock haha It's so cute, a tiny room with cupcakes displayed, a menu on the wall and a little peek into their kitchen area. Right next to where you order there's a seating area with bright pink chairs and a neon sign that says 'Sweet Happiness'- so cute! Totally unexpected for this little industrial/warehouse area. I love their Crème Brulee Cupcake, there is an actual thick layer of torched crème brulee goodness on top, it's DELICIOUS! If you like Brownies, the brownie cupcake (brownie in cupcake form) is heavenly, perfectly semi-sweet chocolate. Their frozen custard is also a winner, smooth and creamy. I've tried the vanilla and blueberry, vanilla is the best! The Frosted Cloud is the perfect treat- a cupcake pulled apart and stacked with frozen custard in a clear cup. It's a good amount for two to share. Their Iced Latte was okay, not very strong or 'robust'. You don't really come here for coffee though, but it's nice to have the option. We are quickly becoming regulars here, such a great spot for this area! read more

I purchased a Groupon deal to this place and once here I found out I can only use it on the ice cream...disappointed. Anyways cupcakes tasted great especially the cream on top...texture was nice and moist. Word of advice get a regular size cupcakes and not the mini....better deal. Service was great and price is very reasonable. The place is a bit hard to find since it's located all the way in the rear of a wherehouse type of businesses. Anyway I'll return to use my Groupon when the weather gets warmer. read more

I went to 5 different bakeries trying to find tasteful and quality cupcakes but most of them were made with super sweet frosting and basic bread. My co-worker recommended Dreamy Creations & they were the delicious! They are pricey, but they are worth it, they give good discounts when you buy them by the dozen. I highly recommend them. read more

Saw this truck pull up today on Ventura Blvd in front of Carving board and I automatically thought oh great. As I am trying to steer away from anything "cake" I just couldn't help it! Dreamy creations was on the show Cupcake Wars and that's how I heard of them. Jenica was super friendly! Everything looked good and I couldn't decided what to choose so I told her to surprise me and pick a flavor. She gave me cookies & creme and boy was that good! The cupcake itself was pretty looking and packaged in a simple but cute white box. It was a mixture of chocolate and vanilla with a layer of creme topped with cookie crumbs. The cake itself was fresh, fluffy, moist, and had the perfect texture to melt perfectly in my mouth and definitely packed with flavor. The creme was not overly sweet--just perfect. The cookie crumbs were crunchy and scrumptious. Can't wait to try more flavors :) read more
3.4.16: Where have I been? I am usually in the know about what's happening in my community. I have missed this one. Very unique location for a bakery. The bakery is located in an industrial business area hidden away from foot traffic. I felt like this was a special underground cupcake shop. There is a sign out by the street with balloons. So, you can't miss it. I had no idea that Dreamy Creations won not once but twice on Cupcake Wars on Food Network. I am sorry to have missed the episode. The winning cupcake was the Creme Brulee cupcake. You best believe I did! Had to find out for myself and I can see why it won. It was delicious. Very unique in the cake. The cake reminds me of a chiffon cake. Light and buttery. I could taste the vanilla in the cake. Not to dense and sweet. Perfect touch on the frosting. The topping added a nice crunch. Dreamy Creations did an awesome job recreating a Creame Brule because it did remind me of one. I also took home a Chef Special. Keylime cupcake with strawberry frosting. Fresh lime zest that you can see in the cake and fresh real strawberry frosting that was light & fluffy. I also had the Campfire cupcake. I was told that this is their most popular cupcake and it was just okay for me. This was just ok for me. Too much stuff for my liking and lastly, I had the Chef Special Vegan cupcake, which I thought was just ok. I've had better. What I like about this place is that they offer cupcake samples which is really helpful. The over all experience was good. I will be back as they have very interesting and creative flavors. You may even find a Dreamy Creations Cupcake truck driving around town. Look out for it! read more
AMAZING! Can't believe we have this hidden gem in the valley. Everyone is right this is in like a warehouse sort of place haha but they managed to turn it into a store. You can get a little lost finding where it is, just look for their sign with big balloons. Follow it down all the way till you find the suite number. Anyways the lady here let me try the campfire right when I walked in, so amazing when I had it, the caramel is so fresh and salty! The staff here is super nice. The marshmallows on it are so unique and everything just works so well. So I ordered red velvet, black and white, campfire, and creme brûlée which was their winning cupcake I believe. The burnt custard topping just goes so well. YUM. I give them all 5 stars! Depends on your preferences and flavors, I'm not a huge chocolate fan so the campfire and creme brûlée were def my favs! I was celebrating my dog Hazel's 6th birthday and almost a year after my first visit, I could think of no other place to get my dog cakes and cupcakes from than Dreamy Creations. I found that they do deliveries from Eat24 and GrubHub which was very convenient. I ordered several cupcakes in the Creme Brulee, Campfire, Cookies and Cream, Birthday Cake, and Banana Caramel Chip flavors as well as a mini strawberry cupcake and a mini dog cake. Apparently, they stopped selling the mini dog cakes even though it is listed on both delivery sites as well as their own website. They still have the dog cupcakes so I opted for that. (I considered taking a star off for the misinformation, but the constant communication from the store owner showed that she cared and I really appreciate that). Now..the true reason for this 5 star review: those cupcakes are to die for! The Creme Brulee was a hit yet again and it tasted even better than I remember. That custard was decadent and the caramelized sugar on top added the perfect sweet crunch. This was my first time trying the Campfire Cupcake (a vanilla cake topped with a caramel frosting and toasted marshmallows) and I am in love! The Cookies and Cream was very yummy as well. Didn't get to try the other flavors as my guests devoured them quickly. Birthday girl gobbled hers up in a second as well. All had nothing but good things to say about these treats which made me a satisfied customer. The presentation is simple, but cute, and the flavors are amazing (It might be blasphemy in the cupcake world, but I prefer Dreamy Creations' cupcakes to Sprinkles' any day *GASP* They are just more creative and tastier in my opinion). I would love to order the dog cake whenever they start making them again, I just hope they update their website in the mean time. read more

A little tough to find this small shop/space, but worth the search. I went there looking for a dog cake for my 1yr old pet. Thankfully they had a few available but better to call ahead. They had great selections of cupcakes (for human consumption), regular and vegan. You can get 6 for $22. So I bought creme brule, red velvet, campfire (smores), strawberry-lemon, kettle corn, and oreo. The peanut butter vegan balls were pretty tasty. The clerk was really nice, too! BTW, my dog enjoyed his doggy cake. I plan to return for more. read more
