I've used Dri Clean Express for both dry cleaning and wash-and-fold laundry services (which I am embarrassed to admit to using.) But this place is great - have brought in suits, dress shirts and pants, all came back spotless, and they have a quick turnaround on their orders. The lady who works here is so nice, it counteracts my shame for using wash-and-fold to know I am providing her with business. read more

I hate dry cleaning. I hate remembering to drop it off. Remembering to hold onto that stupid little ticket. Remembering to pick it up. Finding time to pick it up. ETC. Well, it's a good thing that coming to this particular dry cleaners is such a pleasant experience every time! In addition to it being around the corner from me, the woman who works here is the nicest lady ever. Without fail, she always comments on the weather. It's the cutest thing. I always try to predict beforehand what I think she'll say. Sun's out. She'll totally make a comment on how nice it's been. Windy out. She'll comment on the cold and tell me to bundle up! Aside from friendly service, they do a great job dry cleaning as well as alterations. I had a very thin Banana Republic sweater that got a hole in it. I took it to her and she fixed it good as new. I also had to get a zipper fixed on a pair of pants. Again, never would know. I was missing a button on a dress- sewed it right up! My only complaint is that the alterations can be a tad pricey (though the dry cleaning is very reasonable). But, I suppose that's what I get for having not taken home-ec! read more

Dri-Clean Expert (driving school, and secret underground porn store) is my neighborhood cleaner -- and what a lucky landing that was! My clothes always come out looking new -- and the woman at the front double checks over the clothes to make sure they have done a good job before returning them to you. Have a rush-job? No problem. Furry burner vest coated in playa? No problem. Need a new recipe for Cranberry Sauce with Champagne? No problem. I wish i could not only give this place zero stars, but enough negative stars to bring the average down to 1 or 2, so they're finally put out of their misery and just...go...away. I haven't yelped in quite some time, so it's not a good omen that I am feeling the need to now. I was okay with ignoring the general appearance of the place, which is dirty, unkept, and looks about 3 minutes away from collapsing, since there were several positive yelp reviews. That was a huge mistake. The dry cleaning (which they send out) is fine. Not great, but fine. However, the shirts came back with paper colored tags stapled TO THE SHIRT. Not pulled through and stapled - stapled through the actual fabric. The entire reason I have some shirts dry cleaned and not simply laundered is to ensure they're treated more delicately (most of my dress shirts are Theory.) I warned them that i'd stop coming if this continued, and it did not. Dry cleaning aside, they ruined ALL the shirts I had them launder recently. I don't know how the hell this happened, but there are sharp pressed-in wrinkles on the front of ALL the shirts. I still need to find out if they can be ironed out. The real kicker is that I made the giant mistake of having them shorten the sleeves of a blazer by 1" (this was before they ruined my shirts - all of it was brought in at the same time.) I may actually have to upload a picture. Not only were the sleeves shortened by about twice as much as I asked, but they are so uneven that each cuff looks like a wave. It's a total disaster. Ruined. AVOID THIS SH*THOLE AT ALL COSTS! read more

My recently married friends need to thank Yan at Dri Clean Express. I've taken 3 bridesmaid dresses to her, and she has tailored each one PERFECTLY. Mind you, this has been no easy feat - some of them had layers upon layers of fabric, were made of stiff material, etc. But I've never had anything less than a perfect job done. I recently took my flapper Halloween costume to her, which again - perfect. I took it in as this giant tent, and left a day later with a perfectly fitted flapper dress straight from the 1920s (or so it looked like). Lastly - I took a pea coat in, and she said it would be tricky. I left it with her anyway. And yes, perfect again! For the complex jobs like the bridesmaid dresses, it's usually around $75; the pea coat was $60; and the flapper dress was $28. Usually she'll give you a range, and charge accordingly depending on how difficult the job was. read more

Regarding alterations: I brought in a bridesmaid dress and another long formal dress. The bridesmaid dress not only needed a hem but adjustments to the top. The price might have been steep ($100), but I definitely got what I paid for because dri clean express delivered. She was very good in communicating what was going to be done to the dress and it turned out how I wanted. The other dress was much less fabric (simple silhouette) which costs $18 for the hem. I was satisfied with this dress as well. Glad I found a trustworthy place to do alterations. Will likely come back in the future. read more

This place is right across the street from my house, still it took me almost two years to make a decision and get there; it was about a week ago, and the sunset was so exceptionally beautiful, I had to share this experience with the lady who worked there but I'm afraid even if she came out to the street to watch it she wasn't entirely on the same wavelength as I was to catch the beauty of the moment. Despite of this, we quickly agreed on some fixes, and dry cleaning issues. It took a quite long time, almost about a week, but she fixed everything. She made a good job, I'm very happy with everything, but it's important to notice you have to be very specific with the fixes/alterations because she can go freestyle and that attitude is a double-edged sword. Even if English is my second human language, I felt I have to speak very slowly and use only very basic words to make sure she can at least partially understand my concepts so communication can be difficult, but if you have the patience, it's easy to overcome on this challenge. In overall, I'm very happy with the results, and now I can't understand why I haven't visited this nice place much earlier. read more

I never remember my ticket but they are so nice it's never an issue. Also get my clothes done on time and are priced well. Did have a zipper repaired here once and it broke two days later. They replaced it ASAP with a sturdier one the next day but charged me didn't mind bc that has been the only issue I've had here. read more

this place is one of those places where you get to feel proud of your neighborhood, feel like you're fitting in, and feel all nostalgic and at home. sue is so sweet and incredibly talented, yes i said talented: as a seamstress and stain-remover extrodinaire, achieved in total mommyesque sweetness. she puts all my socks together and turns them all right side out (by 14 my mom refused to turn socks for me). i feel so lucky i'm only a block-and-a-half away. if we move i'd come from at least, let's see...another 30 blocks. she's awesome. and when i have a big 'ol bag(s) fulla stuff she's always knocking off some money for the wash and fold because she thinks it's too much. it is RARE that i start up regular and friendly, first-name basis conversations with most purveyers of this and that that i frequent. i love it here. read more
