Worst dry cleaning I have ever gotten done!! I went in with a couple of standard dress shirts and a suit to be dry cleaned. I just bought some slacks that needed to get hemmed 1 inch, shouldn't be a problem right??! I got the hemmed pants back with 3 inches missing! The lady at the counter argued with me saying that the pants from the factory weren't actually 32 inches to begin with and gave excuses. We both agreed that if I came back with a receipt for the new slacks I had to buy, the store would give me the money back for replacement as the sign posted in the front mentioning that I could get up to 150$ back for damaged items. I later returned, and was refused the money back. I might be able to understand the tailoring issue, but my suit and shirts looked awful as well!! Brought in new cashmere sweater- no one spoke English, had to wait until owner was contacted in car. Given no receipt- told just leave number. OK. Picked up- there were spots on the sweater. I enquired and was told they were signs of mold as the sweater was old. I told the owner the sweater was brand new and worn for the first time. There was no offer or refund or to re-do the cleaning. No apologies, nothing. Took shirt home, very chemical small- can't recall such a strong chemical smell from dry cleaning in many years. Unfortunately, I can't recommend, and not planning to return. read more

Four years ago I used Rinse once and they double charged me. I was so annoyed I found Gough Express Cleaners instead and went in person. It's actually half a mile from my home but I make the trek because Jay is the best! 1. She is always honest and will tell me before I give something to her whether she can get the stain out, sew it back up, etc. Expectations are always set beforehand. 2. She is open all the time. I think 8am to definitely 7pm every night, and she's open on Saturday. Jay and her staff work extremely hard! 3. My clothes, often stained, always come back looking great. Her prices are completely reasonable and transparent. For people who have posted on Yelp saying that she "scams" or stained the neck collar, that's insane. Jay is my go-to dry cleaner and is a wonderful person to get to know and do business with. read more

Be careful with this place. I came here with a super basic request: 2 blazers and 1 waxed jacket, all to be dry-cleaned. When I got the items back, the 2 blazers were fine, but it was very apparent that the waxed jacket had been washed and dried like a t-shirt. It was completely shriveled, lost its color, and no longer fit. Just like that, a $300 jacket is ruined. Thanks but I could have done that at home. read more

Rude to me when I came in the first time, rude to me when I picked up my laundry, wouldn't accept credit/debit card for under $20 so I handed her cash. Said she couldn't accept the bill that I was trying to pay with. No politeness, kindness, no attempt to offer any customer service. I'd rather do business with a good business person. read more

This is the closet cleaners to my home so naturally I thought I would give it a try. I've gone there multiple times and was never left disappointed until my most recent visit. Not only did they misplace my clothes and took 20 minutes to find them but my favorite and most expensive cashmere sweater came back with a hole in it! I could just CRY! Unfortunately I noticed the hole when I got home so it was too late by then to bitch at them for it. Also, I had things tailored there in the past that turned out poorly. If you are going to use their services don't get ANYTHING tailored and always check your clothes before you go home. I'm not only out a $200 sweater but I'm also out of a convenient place to take my clothes. Bummer! ....and they only take cash or check :( read more

I've been to Gough Express Cleaners several times and it's been ok. I've mostly liked it because it was close to my home and they can do delivery. Prices are also reasonable. However, this last time I got my clothes back, they smelled awful. They all smelled old and like midew. It was so strong, I couldn't take the clothes out of the dry cleaning bags. I ended up purchasing active charcoal bags to get the smell out. Because of this, I'm not going to be returning to them. read more

Last week I attempted to pick up my coat here and I came 4 times during business hours and it was closed. I even called at one point and the woman assured me it would be open. When I came in today to finally get it, the woman just shrugged and didn't care at all. I actually had to change my schedule around multiple times last week to try to get my coat. Meh. I just moved into the Hayes Valley Neighborhood and begun my search for the right dry cleaner, unfortunately I don't think this is it. I had an important meeting this morning and had a small window to pick up my dry cleaning - arrived at the location around 8:20am and it wasn't open. The posted hours on the front door say weekdays open at 8:00am. Seems like the owner is not a morning person. Every other cleaner I've been to in the city opens at 7am. Also, they only take cash for orders under $20. You're better off trying somewhere else. If anyone has a great cleaner in the HV area, PM me! read more

COCKROACHES IN MY CLOTHING!!! I took a number of shirts to be laundered at this place. It's steps from my office, the counter man was nice, the turnaround time was good, the price was okay BUT, I was about five feet outside the door when I noticed a big-a*s, honking cockroach crawling on my shirts! Very little English but they understand exactly what you want. None of the snippy attitude like Blu&White. They are great with alterations -- you can drop off a pair of pants and just say "31 and a quarter" and presto, it gets done. No fussing and making a big deal. The couple, Sam and Tina, who own this place are such honest and nice people! I always go to Tina for all my alteration needs, and she's never disappointed me. Everything she altered for me looks perfect, as if it was new from the store. They both provide great customer service despite their broken English. Tina is so honest that one time, she even told me I didn't need to alter my dress because it looked better the way it was. She could have done what I requested and earned my money, but she actually cares enough about her customers to be honest with them. I was so impressed at the first time I went to this laundry place. The service was so good and the lady there was so nice. Everything was done well as what I expected. I brought my dress there to have it washed. I thought there probably would be some wrinkles after got it washed due to the fabric content. But surprisingly, it's wrinkles free! And the dress was so soft after cleaning. The price is pretty fair there. I definitely would keep going to this laundry place for their great service. read more

I love it here! The man and lady who work there are extremely polite and passionate. They speak little english but it's enough for anyone to understand. I only occasionally bring in clothes to laundry. Usually, I bring in my clothes for alterations, and lady there would always understand and alter my pants as I wish. Very timely too!
