I have come here for some repairs of my blue jeans. I've brought them 9 pairs of jean, and had them use two of them to repair the other 7. They repaired all 7, patching them up. The end product was perfect. They don't look new and can be seen as repaired, but that was exactly what was wanted. I would highly recommend this place for repairing or alterations. read more

As a dry cleaner they are fine. This review is mostly centered on their alterations. They are hit or miss quality and are completely unreliable when it comes to providing the service within a stated timeframe. Every alteration will take 3+ weeks minimum. Each of the three times I came here I returned mid-day on the pickup date, and was told they hadn't got to it yet, "could I come back tomorrow?" Then why give me a pickup date? Why take my phone number down if you don't have the courtesy to tell me it isn't ready on time? And the work itself is just middle of the pack. The clothes always come back needing a cleaning after alterations, and pants in particular are not done well. Jackets have always fit very nice though. Lastly, I'm not sure you can trust them to be fair. The first suit I brought in for shortening of the pants and sleeves, plus taking in the back on the jacket cost $80 total. Next time, very similar jacket and same work, cost $100. I'll be finding someone else unless I'm desperate. read more

I can't brag about Irving Cleaners enough. I have gotten three bridesmaid dresses altered here and every time they are PERFECT! I once was on a very tight deadline for a dress and needed it in two weeks and they hit that deadline. I was very impressed and thankful! The first dress I had altered I needed the bottom hemmed, waist taken in and straps shortened. I remember it costing around 80-90 dollars. My last two have just needed straps shortened and waist taken in and it has only costed 45. The couple is extremely nice and always prompt in any communications. I've been going to Phillip and Debbie for the past 4+ years. A wonderful, sweet Taiwanese couple, they are the epitome of why I love supporting small businesses. Phillip always has killer jokes and a ready, warm and inviting smile when I come in. And Debbie is hands down the BEST tailor I have ever had. You see, I have very specific tailor needs. I love buying vintage men's clothing. I am a busty, broad-shouldered lady. I am a tailoring conundrum. I have asked Debbie to alter everything from '40s men's navy peacoats, '60s cocktail dresses, and British trench coats that were 3 sizes too big for me. She has made every single item fit perfectly to me. She has the best understanding of garment construction of any tailor I have ever gone to. If I ask to reshape a shoulder, or change the silhouette of a riding coat, she tells me how it will impact the overall shape and construction of the garment. She's also educated me on how to buy clothes with an eye for what can be reasonably and cost-effectively altered. She is not cheap but she is very fair in her pricing. I bring things to her knowing that I can trust her to give me an honest assessment of how much work it will take her to do. The kind of work I bring to her by nature should not be done quickly if I want it done well, so I let her call me when it's done. I highly recommend going to them for either cleaning or alterations work. I've been a throughly satisfied customer and plan on continuing to go to them until they decide to take a much deserved retirement. But please, not too soon because I have lots of clothes I still want to buy and alter. :) read more

ALL the buttons are damaged after the dry clean. I got a very expensive cardigan and never wore it before the dry clean. I sent it to this place last Saturday and got it back this Saturday, and now when I check it, all the buttons are damaged. I am not sure how they clean it, but this is 200 dollar clothes now it is trash! They didn't tell me when I got my clothes, I think they didn't want to take the responsibility. I don't know why there are so many good reviews for this place, definitely this is bad service and not honest to customers. I was cheated by the yelp review. read more

Place is a mess, really it is. You walk in and there shit everywhere on the right side of the shop. This just means they're are too busy to worry about the mess. I pay about $16 to have 4 blazers dry cleaned. Turnaround time averages 3 days. I have only had great experiences getting my items laundered here and will continue to return as long as I can! I absolutely adore this place. I've been having basic hemming done here for a while, and just recently had a very complex suit pants alteration done. It's all excellent. As humans, Phillip and Debbie are incredibly nice! I very much enjoy coming here and seeing them. I have not done dry cleaning here, only tailoring. Debbie is an excellent tailor, and her master craftsmanship showed in a complex alteration I recently had done by her on a pair of trousers. They were a pair of vintage Italian wool pleated trousers. The legs needed taking in, and the waist needed widening. This was a particularly complex task, because there wasn't enough material to widen the waist. At this point, most tailors I know would have said, "sorry, can't do". But Debbie did it. She was able to accomplish this by moving buttons and waist hooks around, and using material leftover from the leg intake, created a new extended waist, with incredible craftsmanship. She needed a little extra time, and the garment was done, when the garment was done -- I really appreciated this. I enjoy, and am appreciative, when an expert takes their time to make it just right. Came here to get the hem on 2 pairs of pants taken up. They were extremely friendly and have a little "cubicle" where you can try on the pants and they pin them up to double check exactly what it is you want. My pants were available for pick-up in one week and total cost was $24. So although I cannot comment on laundry service, their alterations were excellent and I will be back again with anything else that needs tailored for sure! read more

This is the closest dry cleaning and alteration place to my apartment. I'm pretty picky with alterations, especially if it's a pair of designer jeans, but I decided to trust them, after all...they are Asian! I found no problems with the alterations they did on my pants. I've even brought several more pants and jackets for them the hem. I've also dropped off mine and the bf's dry cleaning here and am impressed with the quick turn around time. I came in to get a dress altered, and they told me up front that it would take 2 weeks to finish, which I was okay with. (There's only one woman who does all the alterations, so there's not a super quick turnaround time.) I ended up getting it taken in on the sides, had the sleeves adjusted, and the collar fixed for $30. The woman who worked there was super attentive and even lengthened the zipper so that it would be easier for me to get in and out of the dress. I had a lot of items dry cleaned, ranging from sweaters, shirts, skirts, really everything possible. And I got a long sleeve silk dress and sleeveless dress altered because the shoulders were too big and pants hemmed.
