There is something extremely satisfying about finding a dry cleaners that meets all your criteria: in walking distance, inexpensive, and quick turnaround time - for me, Lily's checks all these boxes. I've come in probably 5-6 times now to have various items dry cleaned including dresses, sweaters, blazers etc. I also had alterations to pants that needed to be hemmed and they came back perfect. Most recently, my boyfriend and I did a joint trip and brought in 8 items including a suit, a floor-length dress and standard work attire (pants, blazers), and the total was only $42 for 8 items! I was shocked, as I've paid about that for just 3-4 items at other dry cleaners in the city. I definitely will continue to be a regular as long as they are open. read more

I have not been so impressed with service in a long time. I needed multiple, rush (and rather tricky) alterations on a bridesmaid dress. The dress was not only done right on time (Wed evening, less than 3 days later) but it fits perfectly, and the charge was very reasonable despite my rush request. Lily is such a sweet lady! I love taking my clothes to her shop. I don't take a lot of clothes to the cleaners, but as a petite gal, I often have a ton of clothes that need alterations (denim shopping is my worst nightmare). One day, I took about 5 pairs of pants to Lily's to get altered. She was so patient with me as I was changing pair after pair of pants for her to get measurements to alter; I was there for about 25 minutes trying on and out of stuff. After all that, she had my pants altered to perfect fit within 2 days... 48 hours for 5 alterations! I'm impressed. I had expected a week for that job to complete, given how much traffic her shop experiences on a daily basis. God gave me many talents, but ironing, sewing buttons and hemming pants are not among them. Thankfully Lily's Cleaners is just a few blocks away and they make sure I don't go to work looking like I found pants balled up in the corner of my closet. Lily's is the best dry clearner's I have ever used - this includes several cities I've lived in. Lily and the others that work there are friendly and the service is reliable - shirts and pants are always properly cleaned and pressed, and they have never crushed a button. I've had several pairs of pants hemmed, and they do a great job. You would never notice that my jeans have been tailored because they sneakily keep the original hem lines. Lily will also reattach any loose buttons and send back any items that aren't cleaned to their standards. read more

After yelping the one dry cleaner in my hood of JLS, it came up a star and a half, I knew I had to go elsewhere for my dry cleaning. I remembered Lily's was right next to work and saw it got great reviews. I had about 9 articles of clothing mostly cashmere sweaters for my trip to NYC. I went in on Thursday after work and told the lady how I needed my things back before my trip on Mon. No problem. Come in anytime on Sat. Perfect!!! I was kinda worried because I saw that they were closed when I went into work and saw that they are open M-F only according to Yelp. Thankfully they are open on Sat (not so sure about Sun) and I picked up my stuff. Not only did it come in super cute We love our customers bag, but she automatically gave me a 10% discount. =) Yup, just like that!! The business at this address is now called Lily's Cleaners. I've been in SF my neighborhood for 4 years and this place has been a lifesaver. I think about 2 years ago they got new management. Personally, the best part is the service. I go there regularly enough that they give me random discounts just because we always have a nice warm witty banter. Heck, I don't even bother to bring in the ticket stubs anymore. They just look me up and get my stuff. Occasionally, I've picked up my roommates stuff (when he's working late) and then he'll pay them at a later time (usually sometime the next day). Our relationship is good enough that if I have special requests they are almost always willing to accommodate or find a workable solution. Like my friends that have already moved, if I ever end up in a nearby neighborhood, I will still come back to use this cleaners. Good people. read more

I brought in a few pants to get hemmed. I was charged 3 different times because they didn't add the items correctly. They even forgot to hem one of my pants and proceeded to charge me again for it even though I was promised it was going to be no charge. I had to go to the store 4 separate times to figure this situation out. No apology was given. Most of my pants were hemmed well excluding one pair that was too tight. I do not recommend this store. I've been going to Lily's since moving to the area about 3 months ago and the service has been great! I take my regular laundry in about every two weeks and they typically get it back to my in about 48 hours. Prices are reasonable too (about $1.10/pound). I've also taken suits, sweaters, dresses (my girlfriends) and pretty much everything else that needs cleaning and they always do a good job. They even lost one of my socks once, which I just wrote off b/c it happens, and sure enough the next time I dropped of my laundry they had my missing sock just waiting for me. But this was my boyfriend for not asking prior to dropping off. For dry cleaning and hemming, I believe they do a great job. After reading the great reviews for Lily's, I decided to drop by and get a few dresses altered. The first dress is a strapless dress that just needed to be taken in a bit so that it didn't keep falling down. Despite a 10 minute pinning session, the dress came back to me 1 inch too small in the chest (!). Talk about wearing a corset...The second dress that I dropped off had the opposite problem. I paid to get it fitted to my size but now that it's back with me, I see no change in the size. Not sure I want to go back to Lily's...I'm pretty good at poorly hemming and tailoring clothes on my own...without paying $50+... read more

Unfortunately the wash and fold here has ruined 3 t-shirts of mine with what seems to be bleach- the woman claimed that it was "color-fade" which quite frankly is comical.
