Whether you were sitting at the bar or at a table the place feels very cozy and vibrant. We stopped by here for a quick bite before heading up to Elevate. Last minute plans on a Saturday night, we decided to go out for early dinner and drinks. My BF called Drift to see if they had some open spots at the bar, but at the time we got there it was full, and no available tables open until hours later. But they allowed us to have one of the high-top tables, and that was perfect. I started with their espresso martini, while looking though the menu. They have salads, handhelds, pastas, flatbreads, etc. The mussels were calling me, but they come in a spicy sauce, so looked again, and ended ordering the lobster bisque, from their small plates section. It was a good portion for me and loved that it has shredded lobster in every bite, plus two small pieces as garnish. My BF had his own meal and still asked for some of mine, that's how good it was. He had the burger with onion crisps and jam. This was also delicious. BIG, and perfectly cooked, juicy meat. Very flavorful, and the fries were on point. Before we left, I wanted to try their prosecco colada. Fun, refreshing version of a Pina Colada. Very tropical, sweet, and summery. THE GROUPER DISH!!! holy shit this totally blew me away!!! perfectly done fish with a nice crispy edge over perfect mashed potatoes and a sauce that wrapped it all together PERFECT. I find myself not knowing another adjective to use besides perfect.... That's how you know it's a good place (or that I have the vocabulary of a third grader u choose). we also got the mushroom pizza with truffle and it was phenomenal (new adjective hehe). Drift is the seafood restaurant with a flare housed inside the oceanfront Grand Opal Resort and Spa. We made reservations well in advance and valeted our car upon arrival. We walked around a little bit exploring the resort before heading in to dinner. The restaurant was beautifully appointed with a sea & adventure theme. There were 5 dining areas; the main dining room, chef's gallery, 2 glass-enclosed private rooms, a mixology room, and an outdoor verandah. We were seated outside right on busy and very noisy Atlantic Avenue. Alice our waitress from Alaska brought over lots of menus and explained the drink, appetizer and main specials. She was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and frequently checked in with us. There was an extensive and creative cocktail list. The wine list had a lot to choose from. I started with a partridge in a pear tree with Hendrix, cinnamon, maple syrup, lemon juice, and pear juice. It was interesting and a really delicious drink. We shared the maple and pomegranate glazed Brussels sprouts with root vegetables and shaved Marcona almonds. It was well prepared, full of flavor and delicious. For dinner, I ordered the coastal shellfish stew with lobster, mahi, shrimp, mussels, fennel in a tomato broth with lemon saffron aïoli. My husband ordered the baby lamb chops, which looked delicious but besides the two lamb chops, there were mounds of brussels sprouts. If we knew there would be brussels sprouts we would have ordered a different appetizer. For dessert, we shared a chocolate truffle bar on a rice crispy crust with raspberry syrup and whipped cream. Great dining experience in the Grand Opal Resort! We made advance reservations and they have valet parking. Make sure to have the restaurant validate your parking ticket or it will be a bit more than the $10 for dining here. The restaurant has a little bit of a nautical view. We sat outdoors with a view of Atlantic Ave. Alice our server was personable, attentive and on point with her recommendations. My wife and I shared their maple, pomegranate Brussels sprouts which were very good! For a main course I had their lamb and my wife the shellfish stew with lobster, mahi and shrimp. It was all good. I met my coworker here for lunch and it was a pretty good experience. The restaurant is inside the Opal hotel. I opted to valet my car, which was $10 for the first three hours. Upon entering the hotel, there is no signage that points towards Drift, so we had to ask. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were some issues finding our reservation. The hostess was looking at the wrong date and she was very apologetic. When we got to our table, my chair was dirty and there was a very dirty plate on the table. The plate looked like it hadn't been washed. We ordered burssel sprouts for an appetizer, which were good but a little too sweet and chewy for my liking. For our main dishes, we both ordered the chicken bowl, which was a good size and the dressing was tasty. Apart from some of the hiccups, the restaurant is beautiful and it's a good, quiet place to grab lunch. read more

We stayed at the Grand Opal during our visit to Delray Beach- lovely hotel and great restaurant Drift! The menu was enticing enough to lure us here 2.5 times despite all the great options around town. Our server in training Colleen was a delight and staff overall were professional and courteous especially accommodating my mother who uses a walker. We loved the food, that whipped feta app was amazing, fish specials fresh and great flavor combos. I had to try the pizza after seeing some other customers eating it- so good but very large! Lastly the key lime pie martini was perfectly balanced- not overly sweet but hit all the notes of KLP. I'd definitely recommend Drift if staying at the Opal or nearby, check it out! read more

Started with a tini ~as I always do~ and the whipped feta. I am a feta fanatic so I must order any feta dish on the menu and let me tell you - she DID NOT disappoint. BIG portion = BIG smiles (ask for extra toast). Moved on the Maine Lobster Bisque and Drift came throughhhhhh on the large chunks of lobsta *heaven sent*. Ended with the Bistro Steak and I'm not sure if I was in a food coma or what but I wasn't vibing with it. I'd probably opt for another option next time BUT I'd go back. HOWEVER a single lady, my friend, took herself to dinner there, Monday nite 2/2/26 and was accosted after her dinner by 3 men at the bar. They were rude, pulled her hair, called her names. She was terrified and her only fault was being friendly. Bar staff, management, NO ONE came to her aid. This place is NOT SAFE. I will never recommend it to anyone. read more

Truly impressive from service to food to the setting and ambiance! As locals that try an array of different restaurants in South Florida regularly, this one is definitely worth a visit! First let's mention the beautiful setting overlooking Delray Beach- wow. Talk about the perfect setting if serene views of the beach are on your lists. Think the opposite of the craziness on the beach in Miami. Prime location at a beautiful hotel. Second, the service was top notch. From our server from Alaska who was so attentive and sweet (I apologize I didn't write down her name because she deserves a compliment for her great service). She truly made our visit enjoyable. We even came back a little later for drinks at the bar. The female bartender was so attentive and friendly. Again I apologize for not writing down her name. She had dark hair, a beautiful smile and beautiful art on her arm. Amazing bartender. Last but not least, the food. As a selective eater that would rather not eat than eat mediocre food- this place is top notch. Everything we tried on the menu from their wedge salad to their flatbreads to their burger was a-mazing. Not to mention we have the steak and pasta on our radar for next time as it looked delicious. There for lunch, seated promptly, waitress was quick to take drinks orders and we asked for recommendations which she provided. We went with the steak sandwich and lobster salad, both were very good. Saturday night at 6pm place was pretty empty but by 8pm it was packed!!! Nick, our server, was great. He was attentive with good suggestions. Started with my usual Cosmo with Grey Goose L'Orange and it was darn good!. My hubby loved his Knob Creek Old Fashioned. Lobster Biisque was delicious for a starter but oddly they gave us a teaspoon to eat it. My friend got the hummus appetizer which was good but not great. I ordered the pan seared Snapper as recommended by our server but it was dry. My hubby got the ribeye which was tasty with the potatoes and mushrooms. Another friend got the salmon which was mediocre. We were all not impressed with the food except for the bisque. It was Delray Restaurant month and the prix fixe menu was more than the menu items added up to so we ordered straight from the menu.. We were 3 couples here for Friday night dinner at 6:30. It did not appear to be very busy. Validated valet is $10. It's located at the Opal Hotel and it's beautiful. We had a nice booth and our favorite waitress, Liza was taking care of us. They have a pre-fixe dinner for $65 but none of us chose that. Paul and I shared the 3 fish tacos and others had the salads and shrimp appetizers. For the main course 3 of us chose the grouper entree over whipped potatoes and broccoli. Unfortunately we all said the same thing- the fish was tough and dry because it was overcooked. My other friend had the steak frites but she was also unhappy because her steak was tough. At first her steak was cooked at the wrong temperature so they replaced but it was tough. I guess the grade of beef is not so good. Bill had a ribeye and he was pleased. Dave had the chicken entree. He also felt the chicken was a bit dry. So it was a mixed bag tonight No dessert this night but we had decaf cappuccino which was uniquely presented and delicious. This has to be the best kept Secret, in all of Delray. Their brunch is absolutely fantastic. You get to choose several items from a menu and have a small buffet. The ambience is very elegant yet not stuffy, live music that's appropriate to the environment, and a beautiful location right across the street from the beach. The service is spot on and several times managers came by to make sure we were OK. The price is super reasonable for the quality and amount of food that you get. My waitress went MIA for a while. She's lucky she came back when she did! I was about to walk out without closing my check! I asked if I could have a different side with my fish tacos because I didn't want fries or coleslaw. She named a couple of things, but did not mention anything about an up charge. Wow! Me and my crew are at this place every one is fabulous! Today we celebrated our friend's 50th birthday in the private room adjacent to bar area! Omg it was wonderful! I can't say enough about this place and especially the Sunday Brunch! The ambiance is amazing, the staff is superb and the food is crazy good! Usually between me and my circle of friends we are there at the Sunday Brunch EVERY Sunday! The bottomless Mimosas is great and the Bloody Mary's are best in class! I can't say enough about the staff and management. I have never "yet" had a customer experience that was below excellent AND if you follow my Yelps you know I'm not shy about calling out customer service failures! This place is absolutely terrific. When we got there, we were greeted quickly and shown to a table. The only thing I was sad about is it is not on a higher floor. The other drift bars in Tampa and Hutchinson Island that I've been to have been on the top floors, So there would be a much better view. This one just sort of had a view of a street. The fun part was on Sundays there was live music and brunch! We actually did not end up getting the brunch though, because it was $45 a person. We did end up getting the Bloody Marys for $28 a person though. The Bloody Mary bar and the Mimosa bar was impressive. We got the focaccia bread to start. The blueberry butter was outstanding and the cheese sauce was so good we kept it to dip our fries in. We got a burger and a chicken sandwich. Both were very good. Both were very large. The lamb pita was also tasty but we did not realize it came out looking like tacos. Weight staff was very nice and did not rush us at all. We felt very comfortable and had a terrific morning. I was a little put off that there were two dogs sitting in a booth eating off of the table. They were most definitely not any type of service animals. Hence the four star review. read more

Valet greeted us warmly, the staff recognized the occasion and wished us a happy Mother's Day, and we were offered water as the front doors were graciously opened for us. It felt like the start of a special experience--which unfortunately ended up being anything but. The ambiance of Drift is undoubtedly beautiful, but it's in desperate need of upkeep. The live moss walls and driftwood décor above the dining area were caked in visible dust. For a restaurant that prides itself on atmosphere, this kind of neglect is unacceptable. After checking in with the host (who was excellent), we waited about ten minutes before being seated. That's when we met our server, Michael, and things took a sharp turn downward. From the moment he approached the table, he was curt and rushed. When we mentioned it was our first time dining there, he interrupted to inform us that it was a fixed menu for Mother's Day and immediately demanded our appetizer and entrée choices before walking away. When he returned to ask about drinks, we hadn't even had time to review the menu due to the abruptness of our first interaction. He also asked about food allergies--but didn't wait for an answer and walked off mid-conversation. At that point, we discussed asking for another server but didn't want to escalate the situation and create more stress on what was supposed to be a celebratory meal. Things only got worse. When my sister tried to order her appetizer, he cut her off, saying, "And your entrée? You didn't tell me your entrée. Choose an entrée." She didn't even get a chance to speak. This was the tone for the entire experience--rushed, impersonal, and borderline rude. What should have been a memorable and joyful Mother's Day turned into a stressful and disappointing dinner. We came to celebrate our mother; instead, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. For a restaurant of this caliber, charging nearly $1,000 for our party, this kind of service is simply inexcusable. Drift has a stunning setting--but beauty alone doesn't make a great restaurant. The service and cleanliness need serious attention. Until that happens, we won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting a truly special experience. read more

I have been dying to try out Drift since it opened. My husband and I came here for brunch and we were really impressed! Typically hotel restaurants don't have the best food or service but this one is an exception! I love how the restaurant is part indoors and part outdoors. The live music was a nice touch, adding to the overall ambiance. My husband ordered the flame grilled steak bowl and WOW it was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. It was the perfect healthy meal packed with power greens, fresh veggies, and beets! I ordered the chicken curry pita wrap, and it was equally as delicious. The chicken was juicy and tender, and the pita was fluffy and warm. You can order from the normal menu or opt in for the buffet. Just be sure to make reservations and get there earlier so the buffet is at peak. We went to Drift for New Year's dinner last night. Unfortunately, the service was subpar and we were rushed out. We waited for over an hour and a half to be seated, with RESERVATIONS. During dinner the management dimmed the lights way DOWN and basically telling people to get out. The server did not even offer desert and the group of us left basically speechless. If they had a bewitching hour (11:00 pm), we would have gone somewhere else. The good news is the food was excellent but, whoever decided to dim the lights (maybe to 25 watts) needs to go... RUDE.
