I was looking for a place to get my daughters ears pieced. Everyone said go to Drift it's the best. They were correct, Drift is the best. Ultimately my daughter did not get her ears pieced during the appointment. But that had nothing to do with the kindness and patience that the 2 women working at Drift showed for my daughter. They walked her through every step of the process and answered any questions she had. Unfortunately my daughter lost her nerve and didn't go through with the piercing. Lily the woman doing the piercing did not make her feel judged and supported any choice she wanted to make for her body. I first went with my wife to drift to get some jewelry downsized, but also to scope the place out and see if I wanted to get my next piercing there. The staff working that day, Autumn and Lily, were so kind and helpful, and the facility is extremely clean and organized, so I decided to book an appointment for the next day to get a flat helix piercing. I picked "any staff" and Rodman was assigned as my piercer. My appointment was scheduled at 5:40 and I arrived about 10-15 minutes early to deal with the paperwork. The place was alarmingly busy for a Tuesday and after I finished the forms and was waiting in the lobby, a bunch of people came in to ask questions and get jewelry downsized (not sure who, if any, had appointments). I'm not sure if they forgot I was there or what happened, but everyone who came in after me was taken care of first. Eventually, at 6:30 (an hour after I arrived), I was brought back to be pierced. Rodman helped me figure out the placement and had me check it before he pierced it. I think the spot he suggested was absolutely perfect for the shape of my ear and I'm extremely happy with it. The piercing process went smoothly and a month later it has been healing well. Today I went back in to get my jewelry downsized and was helped again my Autumn and Lily. I also asked them some questions about a daith piercing I have (which I got elsewhere and has been tricky to heal) and they were super reassuring and informative. Lily downsized my post for me and I was out the door just a few minutes after my scheduled appointment time. If I return to Drift I will definitely request Lily for my next piercing! One thing that others have noted in their review is that this place is not cheap! The jewelry is good quality and it is expensive, and ultimately you are paying for a luxury experience and safe jewelry that will allow your piercing to heal properly. Overall, I had a great experience with Lily and the team at Drift Piercing Studios! Since moving to Orlando, I still haven't found a piercing studio to call home, but as my helix piercing was still bothering me almost two years after getting it, I needed to find somewhere to get it looked at and make sure it was healing properly! Their website is easy to navigate and has appointments you can make for just about everything to make sure they have someone dedicated to you while you're there. I didn't make an appointment, but called ahead and the gal said they would have time to help me, so we headed over! The space is bright and airy-- such a welcome site if you're anxious about getting a piercing! The girl at the counter was SO sweet and helpful and I appreciated her sharing her opinions when it came to pieces and styling. Lily was great changing out my piercing-- she walked me through what she was doing and it was quick and painless! This studio mostly sells BVLA jewelry, which is pricey (anywhere you get BVLA), but is great quality. I did find the prices to be a bit higher than what I've normally seen for BVLA, but I'm guessing that's to help offset the cost of rent in the prime location they are in. Because of that, I'm a little hesitant to return, but still had a great experience with the staff. I'm hoping this review will save at least one person some money. I wish I never found this place, but I had made an appointment because they were APP certified. In reality, they are extremely overpriced and deceiving. I have never had a problem with my piercings healing because my piercers in the past have listened to me when I told them I have extremely sensitive ears (I had 9 piercings before these). They reassured me that the piercings (I chose two since I was getting a double helix) I chose were hypoallergenic and l even treated myself because I wanted the opal ones even though they were more expensive because I thought I was getting a good quality piece of jewelry. They tell you that it is longer than normal earrings to allow for the swelling that happens right after and that you will come back in around 6 weeks to get it changed out for a shorter piece- what they do not tell you is that it is an additional charge for this until after the piercings were done (I believe $50-$70, not sure if that was total or per piercing). My piercings were having such a hard time healing, and after a lot of pain, blood, swelling, and bubbles on the back forming, I decided to take one of my -$350 piercings out because I genuinely could not deal with the pain anymore. It closed up and I left the other one in as it was not as bad. About a year after the piercing, a bubble started forming in the back and there is pain/irritation. I decided to switch it out with a hoop I had gotten from another piercer, just sanitized it before switching it and it is doing SO much better. I wish I had done this before, and I wish I had done this with the other piercing instead of wasting so much money. I didn't even think of a piercing allergy because they reassured me multiple times it is hypoallergenic and that I would have no issues with it. When they told me the follow up to get the bar changed to a shorter one would be an additional charge AFTER MY EARS WERE ALREADY PIERCED I got such a bad taste in my mouth. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Update: my piercing is finally fully healed and I have changed my jewelry to a (downsized) stud. I noticed my stud is not sitting flush against my ear, meaning it was not pierced straight. Looking back, I don't think it was a jewelry allergy, and think the reason my piercings were struggling to heal is because they were crooked (maybe the curve of the hoop helped it heal?) read more

5 Stars for an exceptional piercing experience (that comes at a price which reflects the luxury piercing atmosphere and experience). I had asked around for piercing studio recommendations and everyone I spoke to would direct me to Drift. Finally, I made an appointment for a couple of extra earlobe piercings. Parking: They are located along Virginia Drive in the Ivanhoe area, and so you'll have a few parking options behind the shop (in designated and marked spots) as well as along the residential road behind the shop. I've been there a couple of times and not had any trouble finding a spot. The Space: WOW- this is a pretty, airy spot and it's clear time and attention was paid to making it comfortable and very pleasant for customers. They have a beautiful flower wall and seating incase you need to wait. The Experience: I checked in with the lovely gal at the front counter. I can't remember her name, but she was so so friendly and helped me get checked in and pick my jewelry. From there, I was introduced to Megan (Yelp reviews led me to make my appointments online with her) and she took me into a room (as clean as a doctor's examination room, but better decor). Megan marked where the piercings would be located and gave me plenty of time to revise the placement before I laid back and she got to work. They hand pierce here with a needle and do not use a piercing gun. It was easy and quick and Megan helped me breathe through it. Afterwards, as I was going to pay, I was given a bag of instructions and care items to help with the healing (including a saline spray). A month later, I went in to see Megan for the follow-up check-in and she was unexpectedly out, so Ray saw me. Ray was WONDERFUL and so kind and gentle, even though he had a line of folks waiting and was the only piercer working. I heard him talking to a mom who'd brought her early teenage daughter in and both the gal at the front counter and Ray were nothing but pleasant. The Cost: Here's the reality, if you go to Drift, it's because you want a clean, friendly environment with impeccable credentials for piercing and high-quality jewelry. This luxury service (they call themselves a Luxury piercing studio, afterall) comes at a luxury price. The piercing procedure cost is clear when you make an appointment, but the real money is spent on the jewelry. I got 3 tiny gold studs for my earlobes and left there having spend over $500 on the whole thing (piercing and earrings, with the follow-up check-up appt included). I was comfortable with that because I went in with that expectation, but I would suggest doing a consultation first if you're concerned with costs, before you commit to an appointment. Worst case scenario, you can always choose to hold off for another day (I went with a friend, who had also made an appointment and she chose to wait to do it another time due to the cost. Everyone was lovely to her and no one tried to hard sell her or make her feel bad that she was canceling the appointment before it started.) All in all, I'd definitely recommend and return to Drift. When the alternatives are tattoo shops or mall kiosks, and I get squeamish with needles, your girl is down to pay for comfort. read more

I had an amazing experience at Drift. I went to have my septum pierced and I was nervous because the first time I'd had it done (at another location) they went through the cartilage and it was extremely painful. Ray was my piercer and did an amazing job. He was kind, reassuring, and professional. I decided to leave a review here because I was shocked to see several negative reviews. It seems that people are most dissatisfied with the pricing on the jewelry because it is expensive. I honestly wonder if these patrons visited Drift's website, because a lot of this is spelled out there. They describe themselves as a "luxury piercing experience" and carry a line of jewelry made by a specific studio that hand makes pieces in the USA. I cannot speak to those who found the staff unfriendly or unhelpful, but I can say my personal experience with all of them was more than pleasant. We chatted as a group and everyone seemed more than happy to be there. I was given clear instructions and a take-home kit with instructions and saline spray. They answered all of my questions while I was there, and when I called a few days later. With a basic septum horseshoe piece it was around $100, which I found to be more than fair. If you are looking for a group of experienced professionals and treating your piercing jewelry like actual jewelry, I would highly recommend Drift to anyone. Disappointed. Maybe they're great for people who are already knowledgeable in piercings, but for someone with no background the person that helped me was really unhelpful and bordered on condescending. I was super polite and probably a little sheepish asking questions cause I was nervous and every answer was like a half answer with the rest left up to me to figure out what I guess they assumed I should know. I even said a couple times "I'm new to this and just trying to get a grasp on my options here and kind of overwhelmed" and they just stood there. What little they did offer to help me with was only after I explicitly asked "could you recommend something?" -- "could I see what it looks like against my lobe?" They also seemed put out when I asked "what guys usually choose" as all of their jewelry I could see was petite and feminine. I'm gay, but wanted something more basic and larger to fit my big ears. The response twice was "oh it's all gender neutral". Like ok cool, I'm just trying to figure out what would look good on me and I'm not getting any help here. They weren't outright rude. I'm sure they're very knowledgeable; but it didn't feel welcoming either, and everything felt like pulling teeth so that by the end I just felt kind of stupid and said "I better take some more time" and left. Again, maybe it's a great spot for people with a lot of experience and maybe my expectation was wrong, but I could not recommend it based on my experience. ---- Updated: I just left my initial consultation at a different establishment and the difference was night and day. I nearly teared up from how kind and helpful they were. They helped me choose what I wanted based on my photos, explained all the options down the road and generally made me feel welcomed, respected, and informed. I thanked them for the amazing service. I received a nose piercing from Megan about two months ago. The appointment went smoothly--she informed me of what she was going to do, the aftercare, and things I shouldn't do. I also like the way she pierced my nose (not the regular 1,2,3 go like other piercers). Honestly, this was the best piercing salon experience I've had. The negative was the selection of jewelry they had (no solid gold in the design I wanted, only the more expensive white gold which I settled for). The price of the jewelry is pretty expensive also but I believe the jewelry is of great quality and thats probably why the price is so high. My follow-up appointment was with the gentleman (Jake, I think?). He was very informative about my piercing and even other peircings I have that I asked advice on. He even gave me some tips after I called frantically about a pimple growing by my piercing and with his advice, its gone and things are back to normal. Thank you guys. But seriously, I wanted to review this place after most of my healing phase was over. First off, the appointment scheduling was super easy. I did that directly on their website. They are also very responsive via their IG account, @driftpiercingstudios. When I arrived, Megan was super thorough with the whole process from having me fill out the necessary paperwork to answering any questions and checking out. The actual process was QUICK. I want to let everyone know that I barely felt a pinch. She is very talented. I got pierced at their original location in Oviedo. That store was absolutely beautiful and clean. I followed this studio's IG account for quite awhile before heading there in person to get a feel for the place and check out the jewelry selection. This is actually quite a big deal for me. I'm cool with getting pierced, but have pretty extreme anxiety and new places and new people can make easy thing's difficult for me. Kayla was welcoming, open to answering my questions, knowledgeable about the jewelry, and kind. Lily was my piercer and she too was kind, explained the process, made me feel comfortable and obviously knew what she was doing and was a true professional. The shop was clean and cozy. It did not feel overwhelming and it felt like a judgement free zone. I can't wait to return and look forward to getting more piercings done by Lily at Drift in the future. A note about the prices- be prepared to pay for the high quality jewelry they stock. Their gold jewelry is all BVLA and gorgeous and priced to reflect that. I was happy to hear that I could use the pieces I purchased at Drift for future piercings as they keep note of my purchases. That made the price feel even more worth it. So I had an interesting experience here. The two girls working the desk were very helpful and courteous. They had one guy piercing, he was also nice. I wanted one lobe pierced and was going to purchase a $500+ earring. They said they could absolutely not squeeze me in. Something about a hard close time for dinner at 4pm or something. An ear lobe piercing takes about 5 minutes. If I owned this place, which I'm also a business owner who was in from out of town, I would have absolutely fit me in for a $500/5 minute job. I've come here before and have had no issues, as long as I made a reservation (which I am fine with!) recently however I decided to invest in a larger custom earring and I messaged the company on IG and they told me to email a specific address to place a special order. They responded very quickly on IG. Via email it took a day or two for a response and the quote was very $$$. I inquired why so much bc I got quotes other reputable piercing businesses who are direct retailer of this specific jewelry brand (and quoted me 300 dollars cheaper). I want to support local. They responded, and then I asked if I could try a different earring as that one they quoted me was out of my budget. I got no response. I waited a week and ended up buying two BVLA earrings from another shop in another state. It's irritating. I like the place and Jake had been very helpful to me in the past and I wanted to support but that customer service wasn't it. I had previous piercings that I hadn't worn jewelry in for years, I wanted to upgrade my daith piece, AND I was contemplating a new piercing. Megan was incredibly patient and fantastic to work with. Sharing a bit about my lifestyle helped generate ideas on what types and styles of jewelry would work best. We picked some awesome complimentary pieces and I couldn't be more pleased. Megan was such a gentle piercer that I barely finished my exhale when she said "all done". It was about an hour and a half drive for me but top-notch service, jewelry knowledge and selection, and shop cleanliness are the main reasons I would return. It is a pet peeve of mine when people in the customer service industry act like they can't stand customers. Given that this shop is offering premium jewelry at a premium price, I would likewise expect premium service. Unfortunately, the vibe here is that of any other tattoo/piercing shop - unfriendly, unsmiling staff who act "too cool" and like your mere presence is a total inconvenience for them. The girl, in specific, acts so bothered by everything - her phone etiquette almost put me off of this place altogether. I did eventually go in for a piercing, and have been in since to purchase jewelry, but each time her response to every question I have is one of disdain. I want to tell her "a bad attitude doesn't make you look cool; in fact, being nice and providing a pleasant experience for your customers makes you ACTUALLY cool." But whatever. Got my double nose pierced here and it went well. Came back because one had closed up and wanted to get it redone. Paid 200 plus it's a very expensive studio but I figured money means better quality service. The girl who preciously pierced my nose pierced it again and it was completely wonky, not flat or even with my previous one. I said hey I think this isn't right we should re do it. She proceeded to tell me it was right and my first piercing was wrong and whoever did it was an idiot. SHE did it. I told her and she sheepishly said oh and then re did the piercing for me which was incredibly painful and ended up rejecting anyway. I got no help when I called back even though she said if anything happened with it they'd re do it for free. Incredibly disappointing because all she had to do was humble herself in the first place and I wouldn't have held it against the shop. read more

My daughter and I about a month ago went to Drift Piercing Studios. We bout got Daith piercing. I have Fibromyalgia and read an article about how much it helped others with Fibromyalgia. I was pretty much bedridden for the last year. Getting this piercing change my life, it's given my life back to me. Megan was my piercer and told me that there is no prof of medical benefits from this piercing. I read all of that before making my appointment, but for me it worked, and I wish I had gotten it three years ago when my acupuncturist recommend it. He said it didn't work for everyone, but if it didn't it was a very cool piercing. Megan was great, informative, gentle. The shop was clean and calm. A great place, if you're not looking for the tattoo parlor experience. Yes the price for the jewelry was expensive, but the quality and selection was excellent. The actual price of the piercing was not bad and, they send you home with instructions and products to take care of your new piercing. They recommended a follow up appointment in a month, so they can check on how your piercing is healing. I just read about another ear piercing called Heavens Gate or Shen men. It has had some medical research in the UK. Works on reducing Anxiety also inflammation and IBS and heart. I have high blood pressure and IBS, really all of the above. With the success of the Daith piercing I'm going to try this one too. I'm even going to pay for my daughter to have it done, because she has PTSD. Megan we will see you soon. read more

My 7 yo had an issue with a piercing (done previously at another company), her whole earring ended up embedded in her earlobe do to hair getting wrapped around the post. She was freaking out. We went to Drift to see if they could help or if we should go to the doctor. They were so kind and comforting. Ray, the piercer, was amazing. He was extremely patient and calming. My daughter did not want anyone to touch her ear and he rolled with her ups and downs and painlessly was able to remove the embedded earring as well as "repierce" her ears with much safer and more comfortable earrings. It wasn't cheap, but worth every penny! Highly recommend Ray if you have a child that wants to get their ears pierced. read more
