I am a weekly patron of hotboys and daves in the bay area, so I base my judging on those as they are the creame of the crop when it comes to nashville hot chicken. I am a big fan of nashville hot... I have traveled to nashville and had Princes, Hattie Bs etc... The spice levels are way off here. I ordered the medium.. the spice was way off.. medium here is probably mild at daves and a lite at hotboys.... The chicken strips where extremely small compared to daves or hotboys so the pricing was a bit high for basic crinkle fries and two small strips for 14.99. The worst thing was everything was soggy... we ate there, so it's not like it was sitting in a container for 10-15 minute's but it was soggy like it had been... thinking they maybhavw everything precooked innthe back.... the crust on the chicken was falling off of some of the tenders as they where just so soggy. The fries where also extremely soggy... the worst part wife had a waffle and it was not crispy and also soggy.. the chicken was tender but just no real flavor. My partner and I are giant Nashville Chicken fans, and we've been waiting since their Instagram came to life for this place to open up and let me just say from the get go: WOW. This is some true soulful, made with love, Nashville chicken. We got the level 3, 4 and 5 and they did SO WELL. Often times other places struggle with keeping the flavor preserved with the higher spice levels but MMMMMMMM THEY DID NOT! She could have at least called and notified me or ask what i would like instead, now I have to wait another 20 plus minutes for a new order. She stated if I'm not happy she can cancel the order. When I realized I didn't receive my fries with the combo. Just the extra fries we ordered. The sliders in my opinion were good, their house sauce has a good taste. The wings took a little while, cooked to order but were not that hot. How do I know, we were definitely eating them on the way back. She liked the lemon pepper, but the garlic parm she was not a fan of. I thought the fries were good and crispy, but she felt it was over seasoned.
