i brought my mercedes because my computer told me I needed to replace my alternator. And mistakenly believed all the testimonies on his website. Instead of replacing my alternator, owner Sam Dawood, who is either incompetent or disreputable told me both my batteries were malfunctioning and replaced two good Mercedes Benz batteries with 2 interstate batteries V4MTP and MTP48-H-6 both of which the Interstate website will tell you Battery doesn't fit vehicle. He charged me $765.49. Invoice attached. The Following day my computer again told me I needed a new alternator. I returned and he claimed one battery was defective and supposedly replaced. Following day same message appeared. I returned and he then tells me it would take hours of diagnostic testing to "diagnose" and couldn't even give an estimate for repairs until I paid probably around $1,000 just for "diagnosis " which I already knew was the alternator. Instead I drove my mercedes to a mercedes dealership - service. They replaced the alternator and two years later I had No problem with the alternator but with both batteries which failed prematurely since they were not compatible with my mercedes. And although under warranty since they were the incorrect interstate batteries, warranty does not apply. Don't believe any of those testimonials. He keeps hounding you after he services your car to write something nice. They were written under pressure. And don't expect him to honor the warranty. He will claim it was something unrelated to your service. But don't put yourself in that position To begin with. Don't bring your European car to Drive European. read more

Would you believe me if I told you I found an honest, reputable, car service shop? Well, start watching those pig fly, because here it is. I've been impressed with the honestly, and quality of service every single time I've been here. Sam, the owner, is a super businessman. He knows your car and takes the time to explain what's going on (if anything is wrong at all) and your options. Sometimes, he'll explain that nothing is wrong (or if it's something super minor) and he will send you home. That's it. No upcharge, no fake fixes, nada. He ain't got time for that. Since he's so good, he has plenty of business, he doesn't need to make up anything. If something is wrong, he either shows you personally or he will have photos (if you leave your car, he emails them). Fernando, one of the car doctors, is also amazzzzz. He totally understands cars and actually enjoys his work. I had a brake issue and he went on a ride and pretty much diagnosed the issue based on sound and car feel. He and another staff member really took the time to make sure they got it right. I'm more than impressed with everything about this shop. They explain what things (if any) needs to be done now, what can be done later, so you can rest assured that you have a safe, reliable ride. We have always taken our Bentley to the Bentley dealership for service until now. I took it in to Bentley in Leesburg because the car would not start. I kept calling to find out what was wrong after a week they emailed me an estimate of $27,000. I immediately picked it up and drove it to Drive European after reading some good reviews. Sam diagnosed similar problems and fixed them for less than 1/4 of the price. The car rides great and I am so happy with the service. Very professional and service oriented. Since he did such a great job on the Bentley I had him work on my Lexus SUV because the service light had come on. Again Sam did not disappoint! Yelp helped me select my next auto mechanic. I used to use Swedish Motors, but after their management overhaul/merger (or whatever they did), they weren't the same. The first impression begins with the person who answers the phone. I called up Drive European and had a few questions - I had an engine service light on, needed an oil change, and worst of all, had to get a flat changed. All simple items- what was the price going to be? Reasonable! And they have night drop off- huge plus. When I dropped off my car, I ran into a guy picking up his car. I asked him what he thought of the place, and he told me he's been a customer for over 7 years and had nothing but great things to say. Another plus! The next day I called them in the morning and was able to explain everything I needed (I ran out of room writing on the drop off card). They were able to quote me prices, get the work done, and I picked up my car later that evening (night pick up!). Picked up car- everything was completed, prices were reasonable, time frame= more than reasonable, and just great overall service. Will return the next time I need my car serviced. read more

I took my car here this morning and it is already finished by 3:30pm! I was referred to Drive European from Joyce Motors. They staff was extremely friendly, and gave me a ride to and from the metro. Sam went through everything with me that was wrong with the car and gave me a cost breakdown before doing any of the work. I am sure this would have cost me double at a dealer, with no personal driving to a metro stop, and certainly would not have been finished in one day - without them trying to tell me 50 other things are wrong with my car. These guys are excellent. The customer service was very friendly and straightforward. I had a persistent electrical problem on my 2001 Golf TDI. - it kept blowing a 10 amp fuse every time I opened the trunk. Justin the mechanic found a short circuit due to chafed wiring in the wiring harness associated with the hatchback door. He worked on the problem for 1.5 hours but only charged for one hour. I was not charged for any parts (insulating tape). They gave me a ride to the Metro when I dropped of the car, this was a major help. Highly recommended. Brought my car in after test driving the car w a perspective buyer for a ppi. The perspective buyer drove the car for 30 minutes and agreed to purchase the car after pre purchase inspection. We come in the shop and immediately after handing over the keys the car disappear for 10 minutes and he escorts to my car and say my radiator blew up and it's very common and unfortunate that it happened while he's doing the ppi. He goes on to tell me other things that needs to be done to the car and I FaceTime my mechanic who is a master tech at Bmw of Alexandria and showed him the problem. The owner Sam started panicking and kicked me out the store and called the police. Police refused to do anything because all iv asked is to have my car taken out the shop. He tried to sell me a quote before I facetimed my mechanic and he started panicking and called the police. I got my car towed and fixed at BMW and my mechanic said someone forcefully pulled the hose out. He was giving me a quote until I facetimed my mechanic and he tried to force me out of the shop!!! Sam and Mike and the service team have gone above and beyond expectations. I have an old Mercedes SL500 that needs a good bit of service now that it is old. I go to Drive European for routine maintenance (such as oil changes) as well as for big jobs such as brakes, soft-top hydraulics replacement, and A/C replacement. Even though they're not as conveniently located as the dealership in Arlington, I still do business with them because they are so one-on-one personable and professional. If they need to car overnight or even for a few hours, Mike drops me off at Metro station and picks me up when my car is ready. They always answer the phone, too! read more

From my initial conversation down to the signing of the receipt, I had an immaculate experience! I was immediately impressed with their website. That's your first impression and they had me intrigued. I called and Bee informed me they would get back to me the next day. I missed their call but he emailed me the detailed quote. Their price was SUBSTANTIALLY less than their competitors. I called at least 6 other places. I gave in and scheduled an appt. Bright and early, I was greeted by Bee. He was friendly and I felt like I'd known him for years the way we conversed. He shuttled me to the metro and my car was in their hands. The next day Bee called and told me everything was good to go. He picked me up from the metro and drove me back to the shop. That's where I met Sam. Sam explain what was going on with my car and things that he wanted me to look out for. Being a independent female, I appreciated that both Sam and Bee didn't talk down to me. They even replaced a bulb that went out!! Between Sam and Bee I felt like I was getting A+ service. While I rely on Yelp for reviews, I don't often write one myself. However, I felt that Drive European deserved my time and so I'm posting a 5 star review. I have a Mini Cooper and for the last few years, I've been bringing to the dealership in Alexandria. Each time I leave, I'm out about $2,000 and often wonder - did I REALLY need that done? I was a little nervous about the same thing happening at a local service shop but Drive European had great reviews so I figured I would give them a chance. And I'm so glad I did. All I had to have done was my tire gauge had to be reset. They also looked at my breaks and said that even though they squeak, they're fine. If I went to Mini directly, they would have encouraged me to replace my breaks and to buy new tires (I'm not kidding). Here - nothing. They didn't even charge me. I highly recommend Drive European and I will definitely be bringing my car back to them. read more
