We had a very pleasant time sipping and chatting. Jane got a sampler, as per her usual, this time all dark beers. She particularly liked the Gingerbread Stout and Long Beard's Oatmeal Stout. I had a Grumpy Wench-a delicious NEIPA. We shared a pretzel. Restrooms are interesting. Parking can be tricky, but manageable. Looking forward to returning.

This was going to be a very good trip. Obviously this place is a winery, but they have decided to get into beer too. I think the woman told us that they are still pretty new to brewing, but there is nothing wrong with that. They aren't even on the VT beer map. That just makes coming here that much more enjoyable. It is like you are getting in on the ground floor of a stock that you know will make you a ton of money. The setting here seemed very genteel to me. I think there might have been some doilies. If not, there should have been. They have a tasting. You can do wine, or you can do beer. Or maybe you can do both. We did beer. A few they had to taste were a Ginger Wheat (bought a growler of that), an IPA and a Double IPA. For a pretty new brewery they were all very good.

Went for burger and beer on 6/17. The burger had the thinnest patty I've seen except for…read moremcdonalds. I'm a fan of their beer but more than a little disappointed in the burger. Update: Paradox replied to my post above with an explanation for the thin patty that day (supplier issues that kitchen tried to substitute for). They offered me a comp burger on my next visit (appreciated!). I've met other Paradox reps and they are all good people and evidently care very much about their quality assurance. And as I said, the beer is really good.

Been here three times and the beer is seriously great! One of the very few microbreweries that makes pilsners. This last time we went (Feb '24) they had TWO Pilsner styles and both were fantastic. Decor is a little sparse- They have this awesome bar with a big mirror woodwork, etc (that I hear they salvaged from another place) and it's empty. Was not happy with the former manager Emily and her lack of customer service and attitude... I stopped going to the River because of Emily ! The venue itself was very nice, open and airy, the food was great and from what I can tell standard menu items, set up to be catered. The beer, cold and delicious and staff friendly. One cool thing that I learned is their gratuity system is set up to help local non profits and charities, with a new charity receiving all (possibly a portion) of the tips. A very thoughtful way to help the local communities!
