Very interesting coffee shop. I've driven past this place for years but I've never gone in. Today I took a chance. I looked on there menu online before going in and I'm glad I did. It is very overwhelming at the counter. There are signs everywhere, instead of a single menu board. I didn't see any paper menus or a QR code to scan. But because I looked ahead, I knew what I wanted. I ordered the signature Mojo drink and a beacon, egg, and cheese. The drink was great. The sandwich, not so much. It was mostly egg, and you can bare taste the bacon or cheese. Plus the egg wasn't fresh. I assumed it would be but I also didn't ask. Im not a big fan of liquid egg patties. Will I return, yes, but probably just for coffee. Or maybe I will try a panini for lunch. read more

What a delicious place this was! I've heard many great things about the Drunken Monkey. Always wanted to try it. Had it on my bookmark for the past few months but finally made way here the other day. I don't know why I hadn't tried this place sooner. I was with my picky vegan friend and we were both in the area trying to figure out where to eat. Drunken Monkey came up! It was both our first time here and we were very impressed. She had the Vegan Pepper Steak wrap and I ordered the Swam Burger, Mexican street corn soup, peanut butter cookie and frozen mojo jojo. It happened to be World Vegan Day so why not order everything right ? Lol!! I must say... the swam burger was absolutely delicious! There was just something about the patty, the cheese and crunchiness of the toasted bread I fell in love with. The Mexican street corn soup was steamy and creamy.. perfect for a nice fall afternoon. The cookie was ginormous and the mojo jojo hit the spot. This place is perfect for vegans and those with special diets and even greater for carnivores like me that just want a meat alternative from time to time. I had been meaning to try this place for a long time and today was finally the day. I was craving coffee from a local coffee shop but didn't feel like getting out of my car so this was the perfect solution since there's a drive thru! When you get to the drive thru there's a sheet of paper on the wall with the QR codes to access the menu. I didn't see empanadas on the menu but I did see them in Yelp reviews and photos so I asked the employee at the drive thru what empanadas were available and she told me the flavors. I decided on the chicken empanada and the iced Moko Jono which is the vegan version of their signature drink. The coffee had a delightful flavor and was easy to drink and the whole drive home I was smelling the empanada which was divine. The empanada was absolutely incredible, and filled with amazing flavor. Dropping my favorite little monkey a updated review during trying times. Although customer service can be fluctuating here with their ever so serious employees you cannot deny that their coffee and food is amazing. I come here for a Mojo Jojo (their signature drink: milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and a bit of cayenne pepper) and some gluten free/dairy free goodies anytime I'm within a 5 mile radious lol. First of all they have a drive thru (which is important during these times). When you can go inside again it's very cozy. Great for studying or a small gathering. It's usually very full as they are quite popular in the neighborhood. They help sale local art all over the walls. Nothing matches and it adds to the charm. They host cool events nightly like their open mic comedy night. Also how else will you see all those amazing baked goodies they offer or their delicious lunch specials. Our favorite is the Dairy Free/Gluten Free Quesidillas. We add chicken but you can also get it vegan. They accomodate all allergies here with all types of baked goods and any milk you can think of Hemp, Soy, Whole and so on. They are also eco friendly with sustainable cups or their very own mismatched dishes if you come inside. Lastly don't forget to check out their amazing murals outside when you can. Instead of getting my usual Starbucks today, I decided to try the Drunken Monkey, a local coffee shop. I looked at their menu online and they have a great selection of the normal coffee and tea drinks and some that are more unique along with breakfast, lunch and dessert items. I ordered their most popular drink - the mojo jojo - which is coffee, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon and whole milk. I added 2 shots of espresso. I also ordered a few chocolate chip cookies as a Friday treat for the family. Total came to a little more than $10. I loved the mojo jojo and can see why it's their most popular drink, all of the flavors compliment each other nicely. The cookies were on the larger side (always a plus) and I'd say they tasted okay. Being a baker myself, I am a tough critic when it comes to baked goods. Something unique that I've never experienced at a local coffee shop is the Drunken Monkey has a drive thru AND you can order ahead for pick up in their drive thru or in store. I opted for the drive thru since I was on my lunch break. Tip- if you are ordering food, order ahead. When I was in the drive thru they showed me the menu and let me know it'd take about 5 minutes for any food item. I think that's great because it's not mass-produced and means it's made fresh. Seems like their kitchen has gone downhill in the past few months. Not sure if they single out my order but it seems to never be available when I go to order. On the rare occasion I have been able to order they get it wrong every time. Chicken isn't prepped or allergy specifically requested is not granted and I have to send it back to be remade. The coffee here is BETTER and less expensive and it's always served with a smile! They have vegan-vegetarian-carnivore options, with it all pre-made in a deli like display. I chose the Peppered steak wrap (which I asked if it was spicy and its not). They heat it up which they state on the glass is 4-6min. To the right of the premade goodies is bags of chips and a cooler of juices and coffee. My wrap consists of caramelized onions, green peppers, potatoes, vegan cheese w/ a side of chipotle ranch. It was absolutely amazing! The wrap was red so maybe sun-dried tomato flavor? Not sure. Theres a glass case under the front counter/register with tempting pastries. I opted for the vegan mixed berry strudel which tasted sooo much better than it looked. So soft yet flakey and the fruit was delicious! For drink I had an iced coffee in a cute mason jar. There is a little station for creamer and sweetener but for all the milk alternatives they put it in for you. I loved the coffee, I recommend. Reason for not being 5 stars is the service. The woman that took my order, served my coffee and brought my dessert was not friendly or hospitable;dry energy at that. I've been going here for years - it's a little gem in the Milk District. They have delicious coffee and yummy breakfast burritos. I would go every morning if I could! Today, I picked up a Thanksgiving meal and it did not disappoint. I placed my order online and used their drive-thru to pick it up. The options were vegan turkey or real turkey. I chose real turkey and it came with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and rolls. It was SO GOOD and it genuinely reminded me of Thanksgiving meals I had growing up. When considering where to go for our morning espresso and latte we factor ambiance, service, taste, cost, menu options, etc. So here goes: ambiance and menu options are simply overwhelming... to be clear, not in an entirely bad way- just be prepared. The menu options from sweets to savories are so extensive that there are long written lists and displays that can seem mind boggling. The best bit of news about all this is that, if I'm not mistaken, it is all vegan! Woo hoo- so much sweets, soups, sandwiches, etc. so much palate pleasing goodness and if it's not ALL vegan at least most is! The ambiance is ok; mix of tables to convene around and comfy seating with coffee tables, some piped in groovy music, and a couple of outside tables. My husband's espresso was good, my oat milk latte w/ sugar free hazelnut was also good. Oh, the service and prices were well within reason. Before high-tailing it out of Orlando we made one last stop, Drunken Monkey coffee shop. This place offered numerous vegan coffees, pastries and sandwiches. It also has some non vegan and meat items as well. I wanted a flavored latte. I looked at the list of Drunken Monkey flavorings that they had right by the counter. This was quite an extensive list. Flavors like cherry, lavender, chocolate, etc. I would estimate there were about 25 plus different choices. I love that the coffee shop lists right on the flavoring card, which ones are better when paired with chocolate and which ones are vegan. That saved me from asking a ton of questions. I ordered a cherry and dark chocolate iced latte with hemp milk. Yep, you read that right, hemp milk. First coffee shop ever that had hemp milk as a dairy alternative. Whoa. For those of you that love coffee, this is probably not the place for you. I couldn't even taste coffee beneath the cherry and chocolate flavorings. I do love a good coffee but even more than that, I love a good drink. This latte was a great drink! My only regret was that I had but one latte to give to my body. If I could've handled the caffeine, I would've gone down that latte list trying multiple flavors. I guess I know where I will be getting my coffee fix next time I am in Orlando. read more

It's a smallish sometimes elbow humping space where you're sure to overhear all manner of things wanted or not, especially when busy. The coffee's good and there's all manner of interesting veganish treats and food stuffs as well as a nice selection of refrigerated craft things. Used to be, friends and clients were pulling me here who absolutely Love them but over time I'm finding myself here often enough despite the sometimes hipsterish service. I love places that aren't super out marketed or talked about because it's usually those cozy little spots. Drunken monkey is a super relaxed vibe! They have lots of options to choose from wether you like your coffee strong or sweet, iced, hot, small or large lol they also have sandwiches and pastries which we didn't try this time around as we had other plans. Coffee was great! The mojo mojo is the lighter drink in the picture I posted and is on the sweeter side and so good. This is like a pretty made drink so you can't change it to a different milk but you can with all the other drink options. The darker one is the iced chai which was just as great and would be liked by someone who does or doesn't like sweet drinks, perfectly balanced! The place was nice. People kept to themselves. Outside tables people are more social. Inside people tend to keep to their work on their laptops. Many of the food options of not all were vegan or vegetarian. My pumpkin scone was very dense, gummy, and lacked flavor. The pumpkin muffin was fluffier as can be seen in the cross section in the photo. Muffin was better than the scone. Honestly I did not eat the scone. It was trashed when I got home. I am having trouble with adequately describing this place. It was not bad but it was also not good. I would return but also not go out of my way in any capacity to return. The fact that Drunken Monkey not only has a drive-thru but also lets you order online and pick up in the drive-thru is amazing, especially in these very strange COVID-19 times. But this, of course, is not the main point. I tried the hot Mojo Jojo -- their special -- and it was sooooo good! I also tried their hash wrap, which was spectacularly delicious, as well. In fact, when so many other places were busy the next day and we wanted something quick, easy, and amazing, we went back a second time! There are great veg options, too, and pastries! Terrible experience all around. The worker Daniel has a serious attitude and I am appalled that a business is being represented in this way. Service here was not what I expected it to be. They have a sign at the door that says no pets and I entered with my psychiatric assistance dog. The worker immediately told me no pets and when I said she was a service dog he said "sure she is." Then once we ordered and went outside some other customers told me that the workers were talking about me and my service animal saying that it was fake. I went inside to pick up my food and let him know once again that my dog is a serivce animal as I was told he was saying to other customers she wasn't. He responded again with an attitude and officially left a bad impression of the shop for me. Then I realized the food was being brought to the table and I said "oh wow you guys bring it to us I didn't know" and he again with an attitude said "yes that is what I just told you." Finally I said "wow you are very sassy. I'm going to leave a review for this place." And he said "great my name is Daniel." Not all disabilities are visible. I love a good local coffee shop. The ambiance is very cozy, with many individuals on their laptops or just enjoying each others company. It's funky and hip, something you'd see in Austin. The food looks delicious. Sadly, I didn't get anything to eat because I was about to go on a Food Truck adventure right around the corner and needed the little pick me up. I moved into the area and was excited to see if Drunken Monkey could be my go to local coffee shop. My fiancé and I walked there from our house. While the price is cheap, you get what you paid for. We both got a cold coffee - mine was an iced coffee with cream and sugar. It tasted like watered down chocolate milk. We both threw our coffees out before we finished our walk home. It was not good at all. It's a divey place which can be fun and trendy but it just didn't do it for us. If you do try it out here, maybe you'll have better luck with hot coffee - at least you know it will be fresher than the iced. read more
