We have never seen so many vegetables in a Thai curry before. We ordered the Penang curry and the Masamam (sp?) curry, and they were both chock full of fresh vegetables. The spice level was perfect (3 out of 5). We also ordered the vegetable spring rolls, which were very fresh and tasty with the dipping sauce. We finished with the Mango sticky rice with coconut milk, which was also delicious. Not the cheapest place ($15 for each curry), but not unreasonable either. The staff were extremely pleasant, polite, and efficient, especially Reggie, with his bow tie and suspenders We had a very enjoyable evening and will visit again soon. read more

The restaurant has attentive wait staff and some of the freshest food I've had! My date and I went here on a Friday evening, just as the crowd was starting to pick up. I ordered a bowl of the Tom Yum soup. We also got some sushi. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The veggies in the soup were fresh and hand cut in the restaurant (no pre-cut factory frozen veggies here). Some of the veggies were cut in a fancy way, with care, showing off the chef's knife skills. The sushi was very fresh. Even on a busy Friday, our food came out in a timely fashion and was done right. I love drunken noodles so it must be their signature dish. Oh boy was I COMPLETELY WRONG!!!! Appearance & Ambience: When I first walked in I noticed that there was not one Thai person working. When I walk into a thai restaurant I always greet with "Sawasdee Ka" in Thai which means how are you. Well the hostess (who was the manager) looked at me crazy. I was thinking OK I can't assume just yet maybe there are some thai people working in the kitchen. Next thing I notice was the decor it was a bit strange. There was chinese and japanese mix of frames and pictures. There was not anything Thai in the restaurant anywhere. We walked in and there was a waiting list but then in the dining area there were about 6 tables available. But I told myself well maybe they have reservations but this restaurant seems really busy so it must be good. I noticed that the customers were not asian as well. I know the population in Corpus Christi isn't a large Asian population but most Asian restaurants you tend to find one Asian person. Finally we get seated 30 minutes later at the same table I had been staring at wondering why they didn't seat us 30 minutes before. Oh well. I'm starving. The waiter Joe greets us very politely. I see on the menu they had some thai chicken wings as an appetizer. I order that he says oh we don't have that. I ask ok are you out of it or you just don't serve it. He says I don't know. So then I move on to order Thai Spring Rolls (they serve turkey in them . . weird right) and a Desperate Housewives roll with no cucumbers (equivalent to a Spider Roll) as appetizers. NOTE: I'M DEATHLY ALLERGIC TO CUCUMBERS and I relayed that to the waiter clearly. The bf orders Sesame Chicken and I order the signature dish Drunken Noodles "Native Thai Spicy." For alcoholic beverages we order a bud light and a glass of house chardonnay. The bf's bud light came out with just the bottle no glass and my chardonnay was no where to be found. I had to remind Joe (waiter) 4 times for the glass of wine. Finally it comes out in a small glass. It looked like it was just 2 drops of wine in that glass. Seriously ridiculous. I forgave him and moved on. YAY our orders are coming out. Here comes the spring rolls and then his sesame chicken came out.. and then later my dish. COMPLETELY BACKWARDS. Aren't we suppose to eat appetizers first? Anyways I forgave them again and said hey it's friday they are busy and I have been a waitress before and it's not a fun job right? I had the spring roll and it wasn't too bad. The sauce was pretty tasty and authentic. So I moved on to my eating my drunken noodle dish. I noticed it looked different then any other thai restaurant. They actually use small thin rice noodles instead of large rice noodles like other restaurants and they use bean sprouts. The flavor was pretty decent but I have had better. So the manager asked me if everything was ok and I expressed my concerns. I told her that I have been to thai restaurants (I am part thai) and that Drunken Noodles are typically the large noodles. She stated I should have requested it. I am like ummm okay but in reality the thai dish is large noodles. Well whatever.. She offered to fix it and she says it will take a while I am like okay no biggie I have to wait for my sushi roll (mind you that was suppose to be here 30 minutes ago). Finally the sushi roll arrives! I take a bite of is the roll. BAM my mouth felt itchy! There was cucumbers. I broke out into hives on the side of my lip if I had eaten one more piece i'd probably have to stab myself with an Epi-Pen or the Corpus Christi EMS would have to show up. I was LIVID. I mean LIVID. At that point I couldn't forgive anymore. So we wait another 30 minutes. I still haven't seen my drunken noodle dish. So the manager came back to tell me well we have a big party so I can't bring out your dish I'll just take it off your tab. She didn't ask . . . She just took it off the tab. I explained my concerns to her then about the roll and me being allergic to cucumbers. Well the manager completely ignored me and said well is there anything else. It was like I was a burden on her. Really? She was AWFUL and rude. I had better manager service at a fast food joint. So she takes it off my tab . . . and being an ex waitress for 3-4 years and even sometimes now at my uncle's restaurants I always tip 20-25% depending if I drank alcohol. Well the bf said to not leave anything but I just couldn't do it so I left 10%. The waitstaff are PF Chang rejects and the manager was dressed like she was going to a club. She was dressed in 8 inch heels with a glittery v-neck shirt on. Basically to sum it all. When I say this.... I mean it and can't emphasize that it was THE worst experience I have ever had. Save your money and taste buds, do NOT go here. I had been waiting 2 years to check this place out, oh man, we will never go back. The Tom Yum soup tasted NOTHING like it is supposed to and the beef salad I got was mediocre, topped with something crunchy that was disturbing. My friend's jasmine tea was even all wrong, how do you mess up tea? The environment was weird as well, totally empty at lunch time (which should have been telling to us) and super dark. But the WORST part was the service! I have never had such bad service in CC. I mean, seriously. The waiter was SO RUDE, and aggressive. He said some appalling things that left us wide-eyed at the table. And when I tried to tell him that I haven't experienced anyone that unpleasant (don't work in a service arena if you don't like people!), he just waved me off with a smirk on his face, while walking away!? Never once have I eaten at a restaurant where the manager became defensive regarding the service. After waiting roughly 45 minutes for our order and asking why it was taking so long, rather than apologizing, the manager proceeded to give us an excuse about how the food was made from scratch, that we were in the same queue as the take out orders and that the food came from 2 kitchens. Presumably this meant the sushi was prepared in a different physical location in the restaurant than the other food. In the past, at other restaurants when situations like this have occurred the meal has been compensated by the restaurant to increase the likelihood of me ever eating there again. Instead, this restaurant added 20 percent gratuity and stated it's policy when there are more than 4 people at a table. I assume this is to ensure the waitstaff gets some tips considering the quality of the service. Surprisingly, when the food did arrive it wasn't nearly as bad as the service. I have never experienced service so horrible, it was almost laughable. The place was half empty and there were plenty of open tables but there were two small parties at the hostess counter waiting to be seated before my friend and I. We were eventually seated after around 15 minutes of standing around waiting for a hostess. When we were seated, no one gave us drinks for another 20 minutes. I ordered pad Thai and it was terrible (it was loaded with bell peppers and that's all I could taste) but I had waited for over an hour and by that time I was starving so I didn't ask for another plate without the bell peppers. My friend ordered a different noodle dish and she asked for no peanuts on top because she had recently gotten her wisdom teeth removed and couldn't eat anything hard and small. But lo and behold, there was a ton of peanuts sprinkled on top. In total, we spent over TWO HOURS waiting there and it was by far my worst restaurant experience in my life. read more

Third visit and things went from ok to horrible since the first time I visited this restaurant. Server staff is a slow motion while the restaurant is almost completely empty. Ordered an appetizer and a meal and they both came out at the same time. Food had an extra fishy taste even though I ordered chicken. Maybe it was the fish sauce used in the drunken noodle sauce but wow was it fishy. There was a weird texture to the sauce almost like it had cooked fish mixed in and fine broken up in it. Was like no sauce I have ever encountered. Egg roll that came with the dish was soggy and bla. Simple request for my main entree and they ignored the request. Could not get the server back in time to request a correction. Manager never came by the table. I asked for my check, I was asked if i wanted a togo box. I explained no and that it was prepared with out my request taken in to consideration and that I had stopped eating it and did not want to take it. Server said, "well I asked for your request. My boyfriend and I were were hungry for Asian food, and I was skeptical because of the reviews I read; however I was pleasantly surprised! ^_^ The atmosphere is quaint, cute, and cozy. Nice artwork, good amount of tables, lighting was nice, overall I was pleased. We were seated quickly, drinks were brought out immediately, and food didn't take long either. The food was delicious! This charming little restaurant with a good sense of humor ('oh no you didn't' is a spiciness level option) offers Thai favorites, plus sushi. Entrees are on the pricey side, but portions are generous. We started with the vegan roll, which was delicious. Then, we shared the signature dish (drunken noodles), basil fried rice, and the panang. I thought they were all tasty! Tip: the panang is plenty spicey without adding more "spice"! The waiter was also great, attentive and friendly. If only they were byob! Had sushi and soup on a cold drizzly night- was great! My gf and oldest daughter were with me. We shared the large soup (and still had leftovers!) and 3 different rolls of sushi. This restaurant brings to mind quaint little taverns in Europe with an Asian flare where you can get a pint of ale and talk with locals. Our poor waitress was a bit overworked so she was not as attentive as she could have been, but it was no big deal.The curry was 'pretty good', but not great. Definitely not the best I'd ever had. However, their sushi and appetizers - wantons and spring rolls - were some of the best I've had in the city. The only Sushi better tasting was at Takeniwa. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I will go again, but probably only for appetizers and (a bit too expensive) sushi. read more

I highly recommend their Drunken Noodles. SO GOOD. I actually love to-going their drunken noodles.. I might be a little weird but I feel like it tastes better once you to go it and reheat it in the microwave bc the noodles have had time to soak in the flavors of the sauces.. So it's even tastier, esp when you're hungry again later! Also try the pho supreme :). It's not actually "pho" like Vietnamese pho... The broth is actually Thai styled and let me tell you, that bowl is BIG! I don't think I can ever really finish it! Comes with a lot of noodles and a lot of meat! For authenticity of Thai food, I give this restaurant 3 stars...their Thai tastes needs a little work, however for Asian fusion food geared towards the mostly non Asian crowd of Corpus Christi I'd give it 4 stars. But for authenticity, the Thai food is very Americanized. Regardless, it's a great restaurant. Definitely eat here! This restaurant was recommended to me by someone at work for their yellow curry. I LOVE yellow curry, the spicier the better, so I ordered take out, level 5 of 5 spice. It was just the right amount of spice for me, and the flavor of the curry was smooth, not too sweet, with plenty of potatoes and carrots to make me happy. Also, the portion that they give you in your to go order is more than enough, filling an entire to-go container. Very happy about that. I had to order extra rice, b/c I know they only give you one small container of it, and that's not gonna be enough! The only thing that was semi disappointing was their signature dish, the drunken noodles. I also ordered Level 5 of spice with tofu. It just seemed like the dish was a confused pad thai. Maybe a pad thai made with soy sauce or something. I still can't decide whether I like the dish or not. The tofu was fried, and that was good. But everything else just seemed like it was thrown together with some seasoning, some spice, and some garlic. Mehhh. I probably could've done without this dish. When an issue was discussed with owner, she rudely stated "Look, I'm not going to argue with you." Everything on the menu is overpriced. Two words: panang curry. Forget about it. Absolutely flooring. Such depth of flavor, true authenticity, and the heat (at native-- a 4/5) was truly what I was looking for. Just enough to give me a burn, but not hot enough to make sweat. I can't put that sauce on a high enough pedestal. The crab puffs that we got for an appetizer were also the best I've had-- way better than those cheap Chinese rangoons that are 90% batter and short on flavor. A final shoutout for our server Dylan. Knowing my luck that's probably not how he spells his name, but he has awesome Batman suspenders, great recommendations and remembered my mom and sister the second they walked in the door. Went in to have a family meal with my kids and we were asked to leave because they had 2 reservations coming in. First of all this is a very small restaurant. Why are they taking reservations? We left and I called to ask, anonymously, if there was a wait for a party of five. The man who answered said, "No come on in." I have mixed feelings about this place. While I do enjoy the signature dish of drunken noodles with tofu, I would have to say that I find it to be a bit overpriced. Fact is that is still remains to be consistently tasty, at least the dishes I tend to get, and its close to home. I will continue to drop in for take out when I am craving noodles and don't feel like cooking. On another note: I find the heating scale of the food to not be as consistent as I would expect. One time I ordered a level three in terms of spicy and it didn't seem spicy at all. The next time I ordered a three my mouth was on fire. Went to this place for the first time just over this past weekend and it was fantastic! My wife had ordered the dish that was described as yellow curry with tofu and level 3 spice and it was really good! I had the fried rice with level 3 spice and that was even really good. There was cilantro and fresh bean sprouts and it was just to die for! I will come back more and more as we live just right around the corner from them. The only thing was we had to ask our server multiple Times for some things and the portion of rice they gave with my wife's main dish. Other then that everything was great! As in some other reviews, long wait for food after placing order. I've heard a few people say that this is a great place but after my second visit I have not seen it First visit had the signature Drunkin Noodles. Heavy on the oil and sugar, served lukewarm. Second visit tried the pad Thai. Again heavy on the oil and sugar with the addition of old noodles that had been made days ago I could tell as they were dry and crunchy-hard from being stored in an uncovered container. They were also gummy in texture from either age or not cooked properly. This time lukewarm would have been appreciated as the entire dish was cold. I think mine was done first and sat until rest of table's items were finished. Dish came accompanied with a fried spring roll that was screaming hot. I have had this dish done much better at many other restaurants. I think I'm done with this place. read more
