It was a little tricky finding this place. It is a little hole-in-the-wall among other hole-in-the-wall eateries in the busy, busy Barlow. On Yelpers' recommendation I ordered 2 turkey Po'boys for my wife and myself. (I was told by the clerk that they are their most popular item... no dout there.) I also got 2 "half-pint" potato salads and 2 artichokes, all to-go. I noted that there was no seating in the deli itself, just abundant umbrellaed tables outside. The wait was not long. When we ate them at home, my wife said it wasn't worth the price... We both agreed they baked a mean baguette. They came double wrapped, which is good because they were messy to eat. My wife said there was as much "shredduce" (new valid term for shredded lettuce) as turkey. I agree. The added hint of potato chips was interesting. My wife said we wouldn't be going there again. (She's the boss, so again I agree.) The potato salad was $5 for a few morsels. It was heavy on fresh fennel, which was different and good... but pricy. We have yet to try the $6.50 each marinated artichokes. So 4 stars seems apt. read more

$20 for a deli sandwhich is wild to me! But it sounded good and at that price I figured maybe there was something so special about the sandwich perhaps it could help me with my taxes, or other bothersome chores, but alas it was only a sandwich. Don't get me wrong it was quite good. But $20! It better knock my socks off and neatly fold them and this did not. The choice of meats together although good becomes one note and loose their identity. The toppings were all god, but again just good. The shop is nice but it is teeny tiny. The person helping me was a bit short and not super welcoming. The drink selection was fancy but greatly lacking a true companion to go with the sando. Upon arriving; lady leaving said "you must get one; best sandwiches ever" and she wasn't kidding. These are top tier sandwiches, the messier= the better. Great combos, full of flavor, and the picture perfect look when unwrapping. Order inside, lots of seating outside which is shared with neighboring businesses. Busy, but not long of a wait at all to order and receive. Decent selection of sides and drinks to choose from. Oh and get the brown butter chocolate chip cookie- devine. My wife and I have been wanting to try Genero's for a bit. Today we went and both got "The Enzo" sandwich. The sesame covered bread was excellent! It was a bit heavy on the salami and didn't have enough lettuce and pickled red onion and maybe some oil & vinegar. But it was a very good sandwich. The price was a bit steep. However, you get what you pay for. Withe the sesame roll and the amount of meat on the sandwich, it's worth it. read more

Ingredients were good quality but my sandwich was very dry. I don't know if the bread was day old, but that is what I suspect. It was one of those where you take off the top half of the bread to make it less dry, but even with half the bread it was still dry. The meat was decent quantity and quality, the buffalo milk cheese tasted good, and the pepper sauce was okay. Could have used more greens, there was only a small amount of arugula. This is a very meat-centric place, so only 1 vegetarian option that I saw among the sandwich choices. You'd have to get the veggie sandwich without cheese if you are vegan. Service was professional but didn't feel friendly, maybe I caught them on an off day. I was confused when they gave me my sandwich as I am used to places putting my name on the wrapper, but they put the name of the sandwich on the wrapper - in this case Regina - so thought for a second I had someone else's sandwich. They had some good looking sides like coleslaw and a good variety of drink options. I did not wait too long for my sandwich but I came early soon after they open, so wasn't much of a line. Good... not great. Tried the namesake Porchetta sandwich & the Prosciutto both were fine, but nothing to get excited about. The first was skimpy on the Porchetta & lacked a bit of flavor. The Prosciutto sandwich was packed with meat, but the sun dried tomato detracted from the other wise good flavors. Kale Caesar with Farro was very good. Also, the bread is obviously good quality but was slightly stale. Considering the prices, I will probably stick to Fircrest sandwiches or the Shawarma at King Falafel for the time being... hopefully they add something more compelling, but so far its looking like another meh addition to the Barlow read more

There's also a deli counter with salads and fresh meats available by the pound! The service is super friendly! The owners are right on site and the people working the kitchen are definitely representing the flavors they've created. Their menu has something for everyone, even a sandwich with broccoli on it! I can't wait to eat through the menu, they are only 23 minutes from my house and open daily 11-4, how dangerous for me! LOL! I got the Genero sandwich & My Cousin Morty...Oh.My.Goodness both were heavenly and perfectly crafted with so much flavor. The fresh breads, the arugula, the dressings, the relish...wow!! The Genero sandwich is their house porchetta with herbed relish, pickled onion, arugula on a ciabatta bun with some of the crispy pork crackling tucked inside! Whoa! Please do yourself a favor and get this sandwich! I loved it so much I bought another one to take home! Sooo good!! The My cousin Morty was spectacular, every bite was perfect till the end. Again, the people working the kitchen did an amazing job crafting these sandwiches! Everything was perfect portions of meat, bread, sauce, veggies. The fresh cut mortadella with the provolone cheese & garlic mayo really go together well! Definitely get this if you love mortadella! I also got the beet salad, 100% recommended this! The Barlow is lucky to have Genero's! I've been there twice and was highly satisfied both times. The first time I ordered the Spicy Zia (broccolini, arugula, onions (but soupy like French onion soup,) fontina cheese and calabrian chili paste on ciabatta). The second time I ordered the Spicy Zia with stracciatella instead of fontina. Both were great and made with care and quality by Thomas! Stopped here while driving from Sea Ranch to Napa. It did not disappoint. After eating the first half of the Pool Boy, it earned a spot in my "top 5 sandwiches I've ever eaten" list. Quality sandwiches, limited in choice, most expensive sandwhich i ever found or bought.

I've now tried 3 different sandwiches and my biggest problem with this place is that I can't decide which has been my favorite so far. The first thing to note is the quality of the meat. Might be the best deli sliced turkey I can remember. So fresh and tender. The prosciutto melted. And the porchetta I had today was absolutely incredible. At this point, that's probably my number 1. So happy to have this place in town and can't wait to make my way through the rest of the menu and then start over! read more

It's OK but not great. It's no way as good as the Farmer's Wife which it replaced. The grilled cheese is cheap but you can't get tomato on it. No french fries either, not even salt and pepper packets. The sandwiches are smaller than the Farmer's wife's which were easily enough for two hungry people. The tuna salad sandwich was watery. Do deli's really add water to stretch out the mayo? These other Sebastopol lunch spots are better: Hole in the Wall, Wild Poppy, Papas and Pollos, Fircrest, Fandees, Dees, Handline and Grateful Bagel. Most menu items are based on highly processed meats, not a healthy choice. But it's quick and has very nice outdoor seating. read more
