I didn't see anything I liked in pink so I went over to VS. a pink employee chased after me to ask me how I was doing and to tell me there's some great sales at pink. it felt a little ridiculous. And then another one. And another. in a span of 5 minutes I had probably told 4 employees I was doing okay and didn't need help. they literally wouldn't stop. So I had to leave. :(. Sad.

Once in, had to wait as they crowd control how many consumers can be in store at once. I was happy at the selection of shoes at this store. I found four pair of sneakers. Ended up pulling the trigger on two of them. Ultimately got a nice pair of Nike court vision shoes for $44. Very good deal. Additionally got a pair of Salomon Drx Bliss $44 (retail $160) shoes which are traditionally running shoes but they were a perfect fit. Neither shoe had a box. However I am keeping these so don't need a box. Overall good experience at the store. Several grooming items available and good selection of hard to find perfumes. Always wanted Sunflower by Arden and couldn't leave at store for $10.99. I also saw some White Diamonds perfume for sale which was a big hit back in the day.

They are excepting returns/exchange which is great because the knife set I picked up was not in the best condition. SN: The return/exchange line is seperated from each other. Now for the important part you have to wear a mask, social distantings is in place but some customers don't follow the rules. They have hand sanitizer in the front of the store and there was one at my register. They only allow a certain amount of people in the store at a time and they wipe down the carts. The dressing room is closed but you can return for now if it doesn't fit. The employees I interacted with very nice and with the two I talked to you could see their smile through their mask...I mean one of them did have a mask with a smile imprinted on it but was only a positive. I know people want some type of normal and with all the stress of what is going on in the world, I found myself enjoying my experience. Thank you Ross and the employees. As always Enjoy!

JCPenney or "Penney's" as I recall from my childhood still has a good selection of merchandise in every category or department. They seem to have a clearance section in every department which has deals up to 70% off. It is nice to go to brick and mortar stores to actually see the merchandise and put your hands on it. Actually walking around and shopping seems to be more rewarding than sitting on your couch or in front of your computer and shopping online.

While Torrid does tend to be expensive at full price, their sales allow me to find things at decent prices. Whether you shop online (where everything is typically at least 35% off) or in store, you can some solid items to add to your closet. I personally am at the loyalist level, so online shopping is that much easier for me because I don't have to pay shipping and makes it an obvious choice to buy when I find the extreme sales that make items less than $10. She went above and beyond to box my gifts and make them look so special. She was super personable and pleasant and just an overall great person and employee! I have noticed that Von Maur employees are always very pleasant, courteous & helpful. The store itself is always clean and neat. The piano player is a nice added touch. The shampoo was never opened. It sat in my car so that I can return it and when I got there, I guess because it sat in the car with hot temperatures, it leaked a little well. Lori explained to me that it had been opened and they weren't sure if they could take it back I reassured her. I never opened it. It never came out of the bag. Well, I don't know. I'll have someone go to the hair salon to open up another and see if there was a seal that was on it as she asked another employee to do that. I told her it was never opened. It never came out of the bag well, I don't know that well, I'm telling you it didn't come out of the bag so if it wasted, it may have been due to the heat, but of course well I'll have someone do it this time. No thank you no smile on the face just nasty attitudes and I'm wondering is because of my melanin.

After I told her no she continued her pitch for me to get a credit card that I do not want. And even made her unwanted pitch a third time. Why does the word annoying come to mind... She rang up the socks at a higher than expected price, so I said I thought they were on sale. She said no they're full price, $22. When I got to the car, I decided to check the price online. $5.50 less. I decided to go back inside and I told her they are on sale online, can't you honor the price? Let's be real about JCPenney's situation. It was 7:00 p.m., I don't think I even saw five shoppers in the whole store. She said "No, that's an online price". That's all she had to say, she couldn't bother to say anything such as "I could ask my manager". I told her, get a manager for me. He came up front and adjusted the price for me. So what is the problem with the young brunette at the checkout who showed no regard for a customer satisfaction with her short and unhelpful answers? But, she was very willing to use words when she was trying to talk me into a credit card I have no need for. And not once or twice, but three times. I hate to see this story go out of business because there are few brick and mortar retail stores like JCPenney. If their prices in the store were as advertised online, wouldn't they bring in more traffic? And if they had something that resembled friendly and helpful customer service more people would probably shop here also. She had plenty of time to help me, there was no one in line behind me.

I have a love/hate relationship with Old Navy. I love it because the clothes are cheap and let's…read moreface it, I'm a pretty cheap person. I don't love it because everyone and their mom and THEIR moms all shop here, so you're not getting anything super unique. I bought an owl sweater at the Oakbrook Terrace location because I have an owl obsession. The way that it was displayed in the store, it had a collared shirt underneath it and it looked super preppy yet stylish. I ordered the sweater one size up, assuming that it would need to be a little bigger to put a collared shirt under it. When I finally found a collared shirt to match, the sweater was still too huge so I had to bring it back. Let me also note, that I'd bought this sweater 3-4 weeks earlier and it'd been hanging in my closet until I could hunt down the perfect shirt to go underneath it. I'd since lost the receipt, because everything always gets thrown out at my house. I was super nervous bringing it in that they would hassle me and I'd be stuck with this huge sweater. I came in this past Sunday and the line was horrendous--so horrendous that I contemplated just hanging my sweater up and grabbing the right size, but since I could never do something like that - I decided to wait it out. The line went really fast though. When I finally made it up to the register, I explained my plight to the nice lady and she told me that they didn't have anymore of the owl sweaters but I could pick out something else. Disappointed, I ran back to find something else and ended up with a brown/black and grey plain sweater. When I came back up, the lady told me that since I paid with my debit card, they could find my transaction. I handed over my card and in less than 15 seconds, she found my purchase. Lucky for me too, the sweaters happened to be on sale, so not only was I walking out with a sweater in the right size, but I was walking out the door $8 richer. Overall, my experience this weekend was a good one. The store was organized, the line moved quick and the cashier was friendly. I'm giving 4 stars because the team were great but don't expect me to start shopping here on a weekly basis!
