I booked an appointment to have a blowout for my High School reunion and was very disappointed. The hair dresser showed me the different styles they had and I picked the one I wanted and my hair didn't look at all what I chose! The hair dresser was a man and had no clue what he was doing and kept pulling my hair and the more I complained the more he pulled. Very bad experience. Extremely unprofessional stylist. Did not listen to what I asked her to do. She did what she wanted, kept flat ironing and burning my hair all the way to the end. When I told her I don't want so much flat iron she gave me attitude. I had 2 tape-in extensions on my bangs near my forehead, they charged me extra $20 for that. She flat ironed my hair so much the extensions started completely showing because the hair became so flat and thin. I had been to this location one other time and the same thing happened, horrible experience. Had to wash my hair after I left and blowdry it myself. The stylists need a lot of training. And attitude/customer service training as well. Definitely 100% I will not be going back to this location ever. I'm a regular 2-3 times a week at the studio city location, the stylists there are amazing. Ended up paying 45+20+10tip, $75 for my short (shoulder length hair) FLAT and BURNT blowout. Washed it 10 mins later to blowdry it myself again. read more

I wish I would've read the reviews before I came... but I learned the hard way. Online it says $50 for shampoo and blowout... makes sense. And styling $25. I showered a couple hours before and went in with my hair SLIGHTLY damp. My stylist was suuuper nice and checked if she could use the blow drier to just dry my hair and I see the girl behind the counter just shake her head no, that she couldn't unless I paid for the $50 full blowout.... very disappointing, my first time there. I wish I would've known. I left with curly hair but not what I was looking for. read more

Most of the time I get seated within 10 min of my scheduled time which is nice. There have been some inconsistencies with the stylists as far as their ability to nail what I'm going for but for the most part I've been happy with the services. read more

I came to drybar for an 8 am appointment before an event I was attending at 10:30am. I arrived on time and was waiting for my stylist (Stephanie). At 8:20 am Stephanie still wasn't there and the receptionist said she was going to be late. By 8:30 I asked for an eta in which the receptionist said she was 30 minutes out. The stylist was going to be 1 HOUR late to my appointment. This is completely unprofessional. The receptionist offered me 10 dollars off of the appointment. I am not able to wait around for an hour because the stylist is late and lacks consideration for her clients time. This completely ridiculous and unprofessional. read more

I have been to two other Drybars ( Pasadena and Glendale) and have always been happy with the results. Came to this location since it was closer to my moms and I wish I hadn't. I ordered the Cosmo and it just looked uneventful. First of all the shampoo i got I felt was barely a shampoo and more of a head massage. When you get a shampoo, you better get in there and wash out the impurities that can collect in your hair. I felt this probably attributed to my hair getting flat within two hours. Usually when I get a blow out, my hair will last for two days. Didn't even last two hours. When I got home , I got from my peeps " that's what you paid 45 dollars for? First time here - the woman at the front desk greeted us right away and took our drink orders (which I didn't know they did- so a pleasant surprise) my stylist curled my hair very fast. I told her I would need a good amount of hair spray because my hair doesn't hold curl- she said ok but didn't really use much. I waited for the other ladies in my group to be done too, and before the last had finished my hair had almost completely lost its curl. :( The woman at the desk offered to grab someone who came right out and added a few more curls and more hairspray so it didn't look too bad leaving, but by the time we reached our event I barely had curl. I came here to get my hair done for my birthday. I told my stylist that my hair gets frizzy in humid weather and he loaded my hair with products that made my hair crunchy and every more frizzy. I got the mai tai style but the curls ended about 4 inches from the end of my hair. I was so disappointed with how my hair looked. The curls also fell out an hour after I left the salon. I felt like I was being rushed so that the next person could come in. I had to do a hair mask the next day cuz my hair was so lifeless and dull. If you are African-American or Biracial stay away go to a black salon! The staff is friendly but the lack of heat will send you home looking like a poodle I now have to go rewash and dry my own hair before heading out. This salon is for white women period. read more

I made 2 appts for my sister and myself for 2 pm for no wash/ just a crown braid for a wedding we were attending. Walk in- place is packed and there is literally 2 chairs and one small bench for people to sit so we sat on the floor waiting for our appt. 2:20- assistant manager comes to us and tells us since we want a crown braid that is actually an updo and it will be $99. Ok- cool. Well- I came in 2 weeks ago to the SAME location and got a crown braid and paid $10. Granted I think $10 is too cheap but how can you go from charging me $89 more a braid that took 15 mins? Terrible customer service and honestly everyone who works there looks overworked and pissed off. I am a small biz owner in the beauty industry and I would never handle business this way. That being said- I will never step foot in this location ever again. Manager should learn how to speak to customers and stylists should smile or act like they enjoy what they are doing. read more

My girlfriend and I came here on the week of the Oscars, on a Monday because we had an event that night followed by other red carpets that week. The ladies who attended us were very nice, professional and did an amazing job. They did an excellent blow out and with very minimal touch ups it's lasted a week! They were able to blow out and create a glamorous look and our hair stayed in place and was red carpet ready. Very easy to schedule appointments. Expect to be in and out in 45 minutes. I set up an appt for my wife at 10:30am, she arrived a few minutes early and 10 min after her scheduled time she went to the counter to check how much longer the wait was going to be because she had another appt afterwards. She was told as soon as a stylist becomes available. Then why make an appt? The receptionist rather than apologize for running late asked if she preferred to cancel her appt. Are you kidding? Cancel? She drives 20 min to get there and has been waiting and now you ask if she wants to cancel. Extremely poor customer service and very rude. BTW she was seen 20 min after her appt. The stylist was not friendly and the actual work was fair. I like treating my wife to different services and if treated with excellent customer service you get loyal customer. The blow dry was okay. It wasn't really what the picture looked like or what I was asking for. Additionally, for that much money I should feel pampered. I didn't really feel that way at all. My experience at drybar was easily the worst salon experience I have ever had. I did not get greeted by anyone when I first arrived until I stood in front of the register or"bartender" for a few minutes. The stylist doing my hair had no idea what he was doing and no idea of how to manage hair. I tried to remain calm and waited to see results before I overreacted but realized it was a lost cause. I expressed my concerns with the front ladies who suggested they fix it. Looked better after but definitely not $45 worthy blowout as I could have done a better job. I wasn't offered any complimentary drinks or services and had to request for water after 20 minutes into my blowout. When I was checking out, rather than leaving it up to me especially after such a terrible experience, I was asked "how much" I would like to tip as if it was not an option. I was upset with my entire experience and felt uncomfortable for being put on the spot about a tip so I said "$5" and the woman immediately tried to manipulate my response with a "$10??" And I had to clarify "$5". So I ended up leaving a tip for a horrible experience (I am usually a very generous tipper). Not sure how other drybars are run but I will definitely not be back to this one. read more

They were 30 minutes late starting my appointment. It was so crowded there wasn't initially a place for me to sit. There was just a very tired, stressed vibe throughout the shop. And my stylist was rushing so I didn't have time to really get the look I wanted. I emailed asking for compensation but they only offered me a discount on my next time. It breaks my heart to give this place one star, but this location very much deserves it. The first time I came here, it was opening day, and they pulled out all the stops. The receptionist was pleasant, my stylist was friendly and chatty, and my blowout was gorgeous. The second time I came here, I booked a blowout and shooter. When I got into the chair, my stylist said, "Did you want a shooter, or a hydrating treatment?" I asked how much the hydrating treatment was, and he said that it was the same price as the shooter. We went forward with the Mudslide, a type of mask that comes with a head massage. After the blowout, the customer gets the remaining mask to take home. When I went to check out, the ill-tempered receptionist (5'6, medium build, Caucasian, with purple hair) said, "That'll be $65.00." I told her that it should only be $55 because that is the price I was quoted. She said, "The hydrating treatment is $20 extra, and the shooter is $10 extra." I said, "The stylist represented to me they were the same price." She sneered, and gave it to me for $55, but said, "In the future, the shooter is $10, and the hydrating treatment is $20," as if it is my fault that Drybar's own stylists don't know the price menu. I took the unused portion of the Mudslide treatment with me, and left. The third time, my appointment was today, Tuesday, August 22, for a blowout and hydrating treatment. The special on Drybar's website states, "Free hydrating treatment when you book a blowout Sunday through Thursday." I decided to try the other hydrating treatment, Baybreeze. When we finished my blowout, my stylist, Alice, gave me the remainder of the Baybreeze treatment she had used on me, just like I had received for the Mudslide treatment. As I was checking out, the same receptionist as above, grabbed, yes, actually snatched, the bottle out of my hand, and said, "No, you don't get this to take with you." I said, "I got to take the Mudslide with me last time." She said, "No, this treatment. The Baybreeze is different. We keep the bottle." I thought it strange, but didn't force the issue. She again tried to charge me $65.00. I showed her the email on my phone. She pursed her lips, and said, "Fine, but this is the one and only time you can use this." I said, "Where does it say that on there?" She said, "It doesn't, but we make a note in your file. It's one per customer." That made me suspicious, because normally with specials, ad will say, "Only one per customer' in the fine print. When I got back to the office, I called Drybar's hotline, and Erwin answered. He confirmed I was correct on both counts: customers are supposed to get the remainder of the Baybreeze or Mudslide bottle when they book a hydrating treatment, and there is no limit to the number of hydrating treatments a customer can book as long as she books Sunday through Thursday in July and August. I am a longtime customer of Drybar, and am shocked by this disparity. When I lived in West Hollywood, I frequented Drybar's Sunset Boulevard location, and was thrilled when a location opened in Burbank, where I currently live. Sad to say, this is NOT Alli Webb's Drybar. read more

I love dry bar. Go there every time i need my hair done. I have been to several locations and never had a problem. I went to get my hair done on New Years Eve so I was on a bit of a time crunch and my appointment was at 6:00. At 6:30 they told me it would take another 20 minutes and their were still like 4 girls in front of me with earlier appointments. This is absolutely unacceptable. Based on their website, they had plenty of online appointments available. Because of the review here about wait times, I called the number listed, which takes you to a general drybar line. I asked the person to please confirm that if I booked a 5:30 appointment, they would definitely take me at that time (or within a few minutes). She kept saying if it was listed online, it was safe to book. I politely asked if she could please confirm with the Burbank location directly, and guess what? They actually couldn't accommodate the appointment time listed online and if I would have driven there, I would have waited 45 minutes to get my hair done. I hate to give them 2 stars. First off let me start by saying the staff was great my blow out was wonderful. I loved the styling. Now for the bad news.. there is NO parking. There are like 5 spots to park in front of the place. So you have to park in the structure and they DONT validate. And the parking was CASH only. So I pulled in and figured I can pay with my credit card and pull some money out like a cash tip, well it's also a CASHLESS facility! So good luck if you have a $20 and want to leave a cash tip and need change, that won't happen either. It's an inconvenience to go here I hope they read this and take these comments into consideration because I would love for it to work. I would come back if it was easier. read more

I said it would have been great to know that and the girl at the desk actually said "I don't have a phone" and seemed like she could not care less. Also blaming it on The Emmys. No one here who booked an appointment cares about that. On a Sat like today, all appts in the time range I need are now booked, so I have to sit here until it's my turn. I won't be back. I have been to this location many many times. It's usually pretty good and no real problems. Even tonight the stylist was fine and did a really nice job. The problem comes in when they hire people who cant manage to run a credit card correctly in the front. They were running the after thanksgiving 10$ off sale which makes the blowout 35$. I told the gal to go ahead and add the $10 and make it 45$. I use my debit card and am really watching my money with the holidays. I get home to check my banking account and she not only charged the $35, but also charged a $80, making my onsale blowout $115 plus the additional $10 tip. I call immediately and get a lovely gal on the the phone named Rain who proceeds to tell me yea, we made a mistake and am refunding the $80 and you should see it in about 3 days. Wait...what? So the the gal that doesn't know how to use a credit card machine takes $80 out of my account and now I have to wait 3 days for it? Not acceptable. I told her so and at the very least she should compensate me for this HUGE (yes, in my world $80 is huge) inconvenience which, of course, she declined to do simply going back to you should see it refunded in 3 days. I mean seriously? Ok, people make mistakes which this gal clearly did, but with a loyal customer not to issue any compensation for this is simply wrong. **EDIT TO ADD: The $80 actually did go right back into my account and didn't take the 3 days she had said. This is a load off my back as I was going out of town and needed it. I do think though they need a better system because if a mistake is made and I didn't check it, it may have gone unnoticed. Anyhow, I have now calmed down and boosted it up to 3 stars instead of one. I am made whole again. read more

I have gotten plenty of blow outs in the past but this by far was the worst. My stylist her name was Paulina seemed like a newbie. She didn't speak much and just nodded when I asked a question. She gave no real feedback. When she washed my hair, there wasn't much shampoo and it felt like it just took a lot longer than it should. I have medium to long hair, no extensions. So it shouldn't be that difficult to style. I told her that my hair didn't hold and typically need to be tighten more with the curls. Well what ensured what almost a 80 minute session where my hair had very little volume or style. I ended up just stopping her mid way and wanted to leave. The curls were already falling flat and I knew that by the time I arrived to my work function my hair would be a total mess. Surprise surprise it was and I have pictures to prove it. I was highly disappointed and can't believe this is the training they give stylists now. read more

I went to Drybar Burbank today to get my hair done to attend a friends wedding. I arrived and the staff was very friendly and attentive. My stylist asked me what I wanted done and I selected a look from the the collection book. A cosmo look. Long hair with loose curls. Very simple she said. She washed and then proceeded to dry my hair. She asked me several times what side I parted my hair on. Did not think anything of it until she finished my hair and it looked nothing like what we discussed. My hair was not even parted on the right side even though she asked 3 times. I felt like I had put a helmet on my head. She had teased the top of my hair and done really tight curls. My part was going in about 3 different directions. I was sitting at the end seat were there is no direct mirror in front of you only when you get turned around. So I was just trusting she was doing what we had discussed. So you can image my surprise when I turned around and saw my hair. I was shocked and asked her right away about the style that it was not anything we discussed. She said oh i'm sorry i thought you wanted volume and curly. I then pointed to the photo and said i thought we had discussed this. She was oh but it looks great and I said my part is not even right. I then said i'm just going to go and re-due it at home and she then started to try and fix it by straightening the top but my hair which was already styled from what she had done before so it was just not working. I know she was trying to make me happy but the damage was already done. I continue to let her try to fix it, since i was heading to a wedding and was going to be short on time to try and go home and undue what had been done. After 10 more minutes i just said it was fine because now i was way behind, since i did not for see this to be a problem. I'm not sure what licensing is required in a drybar, but i feel that there should be. I could see some stylist were very good and the clients hair turned out great, but you can also see other wise. I would really research your stylist before making your reservation. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience today. I come to DryBar quite often, at least 4 times a month. Today I took my 11 year old niece to get a blowout and get a tiny braid on the side of her hair. The stylist made the braid really weird and tight and up toward the part and her scalp was showing where her hair was flaking, so I asked if they could fix it. I had already paid the $57.00 which is never what I paid for a kids blowout, but that is besides the point. The lady who checked me out was extremely rude and angry when I nicely asked for a re-braid and then told me she forgot to charge for the braid to begin with and so now she needed my card again to charge another $10.00 for the braid. Needless to say the second braid was not much better but I really did not want to deal with any more issues so we left. I will not be back. I found a place down the street offers $25.00 blowouts without the attitude. Sorry. read more

This is the first time I've ever been to Dry Bar. I had heard a lot about it after they started to pop up around LA and I was excited it opened close by to where I live. The decor and location are nice and I could see myself signing up for the monthly membership after I give it a couple of more tries. My rating is due to having one great blow out along with a second not so great experience. The first stylist seemed to have the right touch whereas the second pretty much pulled and yanked at my hair (lots of pain and lots of hair on the brush rather than staying on my head). I will most likely give it another shot before making that membership decision or if I will continue to come here at all (of course every salon down the road are offering blow dry specials to compete I presume). The products by Dry Bar smell really good but I think they tend to over use the product in my hair. Like I mentioned, will give it another shot but still really bummed about the overly rough stylist during my second blow out. read more
