If I could put 0 stars I would. Actually the WORST DRYBAR I've ever been to. We waited 10 minutes to get helped at the desk with the employees seeing us right in front of them and continuing and chatting. They FINALLY address us, like their convo was solving world peace, and check us in. We wait 20 more minutes just for them to come up and tell us the ac is broken and the hairstylists don't want to do our hair in the heat. I'm dead. They had 2 fans running. And on top of all that they had another girl waiting, who were almost positive they did her hair after we left. If I'm being honest, I think they got lazy and didn't want to do very curly hair, as both my mom and I have course hair. No call, no text, nothing we drove 30 minutes to get there, with a wedding in 1 hour just for them to cancel. Employees were stuck up, wore way too much makeup, and just looked plain rude and bitchy. My mom felt discriminated especially because of her hair texture, and the feeling that they just "didn't want to deal with it". However I don want to say anything bad about the man at the front, who was blonde, who seemed apologetic for having to cancel, but we did not get any problems solve. Fix your attitudes, fix your makeup, and and fix your f***ing store. Honestly just close this location down at this point. read more

i've had good experiences everytime i've come in here here but I must say their salon chairs are horrible. so uncomfortable to sit in for 1hr+. consider investing in actual salon chairs with back support and cushioning. no reason for customers to be sitting on chairs that put excess pressure on your tailbone after your appointment read more

I finally find the one who can work on my hair best, then they end up rotating to another location. I feel like Burbank is the training center. Otherwise It is okay for last minute hair blow out. This has to be the WORST experience I've had with any establishment I've been to. I arrived for a blowout and had Gabrielle work on me. First off, she was super rude and cold, I tried making conversation with her and it seemed like she absolutely hated her job and didn't want to be there. When I was seated, I noticed a disgusting hairbrush covered in hair and she ended up using that SAME dirty hairbrush on me to brush my hair. Besides for the fact that extra safety precautions regarding health should be taken to the extreme during Covid, I believe none were. To make matters worse, I cannot even express how frustrated I am considering the damage that has been done to my hair. Gabrielle used NO heat protectant on my hair and fried it to death-- like seriously, I went to get a hair cut after and she was beyond shocked as 2.5 inches of my hair were completely dead after this experience. She held the curling iron on my hair for about 20 seconds and I felt the heat literally searing my scalp. She was rough, and clearly VERY uneducated about how to work with hair. I've spent months taking care of my hair and finally had it grow out healthily and she destroyed it in a matter of 30 minutes. Do not come here!!! read more

Today my stylist was Anthony and I am OBSESSED WITH HIM!!!! When I say obsessed, I mean it. I got the charcoal scalp scrub add-on and he almost made me fall asleep while applying, so relaxing! Then, when I asked for focus on volume, he made sure to use rollers to give me that extra volume I was looking for. I'm still in the chair and so happy with his attention to detail that I needed to give a 5 star review before we even moved onto styling. Way to go Anthony, thank you for being available today- it was so great to meet you and I will be requesting you in the future!!! I'm preggers and feeling just so tired these days, you gave me the pick-me-up I really needed to tackle the rest of this week!! Paulina needs alot of additional training. I asked for a simple "straight up" with volume & body - she had a hard time with it and the end result was a bit dull. She couldnt even style (flat iron) my bangs... she needed to ask another stylist to do it. Very disappointed. Not my first visit to a dry bar, but my first and LAST to this location. I wanted to get my hair done for my holiday party, and figured I'd try this location since it's closest to me. First, I added the extra scalp massage for the extra $10 and it felt no different from any regular wash, strike one. Next, I had asked for an old Hollywood glam look and showed a picture from Dry Bar's IG. Stylist said because my hair is fine it's not reasonable to do so but will give me a lot of curls and volume, so I agreed, but strike 2. I had previously asked this same hairstyle at another dry bar and had no issues. I should've spoken up but whatever, my thing is that the stylist could have at least tried and if unsuccessful so be it, at least there was an attempt. Lastly, I got curls but lacking volume so the stylist had to ask another stylist to tease my hair. But as my hair was getting teased I could see he was upset because my curls started to fall and he had to redo them. Redid them, but didn't matter because as soon as I got into my car, my hair went flat, STRIKE 3! So, I wasted my time and money because I had to redo my hair. read more

I was absolutely thrilled to score a Maisel Day visit to Drybar in Burbank. I read the reviews in advance and was a little wary, but I figured at Maisel Day prices, I could afford to be disappointed! As it turned out, I need not have worried. On a day that had to be absolutely grueling for the staff (but great for the customers), and when Drybar really could be forgiven for not providing top notch service, Drybar rocked it. My appointment was in the evening and I imagine everyone was totally exhausted by then, but the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and my stylist, Samantha, was a delight. I went with the "Old Hollywood" blowout, and absolutely loved the results. Samantha did a great job and was so sweet throughout the process, making me look and feel lovely. I had no plans afterward, but took myself out to dinner to celebrate my beautiful, sexy look. I managed not to completely destroy my hair by sleeping on it and enjoyed the blowout for a few days afterward, losing some of the "Old Hollywood" vibe, but still looking very foxy. The whole thing was such a wonderful experience, I smile every time I think of it. I'll definitely be back. read more

Another edit: I gave them more chances and it's still trash. It's like no one knows how to blow dry hair except one or two stylists. Not only was my hair totally tangled and not washed well but when I said I wasn't happy, it didnt get fixed. Pro tip- if you customer TIES HER HAIR after a blow out, SHE IS NOT HAPPY. I asked for a straight up and ended up with a cosmo that makes me look like a gd drag queen from the 60s AND they were over 20 mins delayed getting me in on my appointment time. I regret ever giving them a chance and throwing my money away. I gave them so many chnaces but I shouldn't have to go home and make myself look less than rachel green circa 1999 every time and I especially dont need to spend an hour talking about dead parents and hear about how I need to have children. F. This. P The concept is so great- in and out for a quick wash and blow out. Great for someone with a super busy schedule. Except at this location. I've gone twice. The first time, my stylist somehow managed to flatten my normally voluminous hair when she did the "cosmo" (I think). Second time around, I had worked overnight and the stylist spent the entire hour or so talking my ear off, often stopping what she was doing to make sure I heard her. Horrible, i have short relaxed curly hair so its not Hard to blow dry but the lady i got was not good, idk if she is new or the products she used made my hair hard, puffy and almost burnt. My friend also has curly and her blowout with a different stylist came out great so i would recommend asking the receptionist to book you with someone who knows how to blow dry curly hair. Incredibly disappointed with the service. I arrived on time for my appointment, only to be taken 15 minutes after my appointment. There was then a shortage of sinks, I ended up at the last sink (which was broken, stylist couldn't adjust the height of the head and there was no foot rest). I was then left there for more than 5 minutes only to be told there were no seats left. The stylist who washed my hair then left me because her "request" was there. If I thought the overbooking was a fluke, I'd let it slide but this has become a pattern here and is completely unacceptable. I will not be back and will encourage others to avoid this drybar as well. read more

First apt / 7 AM. Arrive at 6:58 AM. Woman in front of me checking in has 7:30 AM apt and upset because she could have "slept longer." They take her first. They take me at 7:15 AM. Sit down with stylist, explain what I am looking for. Off to wash my hair. In the middle of it, she says "someone requested her" and they will find someone to take care of me. I say that's not ok because it's already 7:30 AM and I made the first appointment to get to work on time. I shouldn't have to explain its an important day and i've traveled from NYC, slept 3 hours to be on time for this appointment. She says "Sorry, someone else is taking you." Someone else does and she blow drys my hair to feel like burnt and rough. Get a blow out weekly. It's never feels like that. Also paid extra for treatment while washing hair. NEVER AGAIN. read more

So here are my issues with DRYBAR. At this location and pretty much all the others including Encino and studio city and 3rd. I have been a customer since the beginning. 1. They never ever get the floater/ head massage right. I book it and the stylist never does it. By the time I'm getting up I mention and they are always confused. I don't think they are trained in what it is. 2. The chairs are super uncomfortable. I always get a tail bone ache after a 45 min appt. it's the curvature in the back. 3. The front asks what I want it drink and maybe they bring it maybe they don't. Usually don't and the stylist gets it sometimes if your lucky. Today neither did. It's like WHY do you ask ?? 4. The smell of their sprays and products is getting over whelming. I couldn't take a deep breathe today . And when I left my throat was stinging. The scents in hr dry shampoo and hair spray are the culprit. Also today the stylist left me dripping after the wash, no towel on my shoulders. No head massage I booked. But she did a good job blow drying. What they have going for them is they do good blow dries so I put up with the bad things. But I'm definitely going less than I use to. read more

Terrible experience! My stylist Stephanie had THE WORST attitude of all time. I requested "dry styling" because I was running low on time & did not have time for her to rewash my hair & whatnot. My hair was ever so SLIGHTLY moist, not even wet, I repeat moist and she made the biggest deal. She spoke to me in a very rude demeaner in front of the other customers and attempted to put me down. Very unprofessial & not friendly at all! She claimed that if she turns of the blow dryer it's considered a blowout?? What? She literally took less than 2 minutes to "dry" my hair & charged me for it. The extra charge is not what put me off but it was her tone of voice & customer service skills. Definitely will not be coming back! My "dry styling" was alright nothing worth raving about. Had an appointment for 9:00 a.m. yesterday. I checked in with the receptionist at 8:59 a.m. I had already waited 30 minutes when I saw one of the staff notify another lady that a stylist was finishing up and she would be taken in shortly. She later proceeded to tell me the same thing BUT the stylists seemed no where near done. I asked her to give me an estimate on the timing and she said she will have to check. I asked her again a few minutes later and she said:"about 15-20 minutes because we had a few customers with long hair come in".... I'm sorry, do you expect all your clients to be bald? There's an appointment system for a reason. The salon also has a set timing of "45 minutes for blowout" which should probably be increased since it's clearly become a struggle. What upset me is that the receptionist already knew they were behind when I got there, he could've notified me the instant I checked-in so that I at least could've had an option of either waiting or leaving right away. My stylist Susana did a very good job with a recommendation, based on my hair type (thin, short). Happy with the result. However the reception staff needs better training. I showed up right on time and was not given a reason why my appointment was delayed 15 minutes - though the booking website INSISTS that you be on time. I was offered a drink, but the water I requested never came. At checkout I asked the receptionist to break a $20 bill and she came back with $10 and said that she made change with my stylist and then gave her the $10. VERY presumptuous. I had hoped to give the tip to the stylist myself. I chalk it up to inexperience, immaturity, and poor training by the management. read more

I've been to many Drybars and have always had a great experience. I went to the Burbank location with 2 friends last weekend. We absolutely loved our stylists and end result but there was one receptionist up front who was so rude. She checked us in but didn't even look up once. She never offered anything to drink (not even water) and just acted like we were a bother to her. During the time I was there, she slammed drawers and cabinets, rolled her eyes when anyone asked her for anything and just made the visit unpleasant. At checkout, I had to ask how to spell my stylist's name and she mumbled it so fast under her annoyed breath, that I hope I got it right. I was going to ask what her name was but I just wanted to get out of there. My friend and I walked out and immediately commented on her rude behavior. My friends have told me great things about Dry Bar so I was excited to try it out. But to my surprise, I walked in on time for my appointment and no one even said hello or gave a smile. I am all about customer service so when a client isn't even greeted until 20 min after she walks in ...the tone is set. Then I waited 45 minutes for my appointment! There never was an apology for the wait or a beverage offer or anything. Another customer had an appointment the same time as me and she encountered the same thing and we both looked at each other with a "this is ridiculous" look as we waited for our appointment. The end product was fine. It did the trick- but wasn't what I had asked for. I asked for their cosmo-tai look and it was a few curls at the end. Best Drybar I've been to. All I ever want is for my hair to hold beautiful loose curls. However, because I have pretty fine hair, my curls usually fall out. I told Scott this and he magically got my hair to look just like the pictures in their lookbook! He did an amazing job and was super thorough so they actually last the whole day. I came here for a trial run for my engagement photos. I was super excited and happy after my appointment my hair had beautiful curls and volume. Within less than an hour most of the curl and volume in my hair was completely gone. I don't know if it was not enough hairspray, she didn't hold the iron long on my hair, or what. I really don't feel that I got my money's worth in the slightest. Couple of hours later my hair was completely straight. My curls last longer when I do them. I have been a drybar fan from the beginning. Visited many so cal locations repeatedly. This location is poorly staffed and poorly managed. Waited a half hour after appointment time today without apology. This is at least the fourth time I have had to wait ten minutes or more after my designated appointment time. Then the stylist did a terrible job. Like if I didn't have to go to a wedding, I would have gone back and asked someone to fix it. I have curly hair. If someone cannot blowout curly hair may I suggest you don't hire them at a blow dry only salon? In 2018, you can find a cheaper blowout but I go to drybar because at a minimum I expect the stylists can manage my hair. Today, they could not. When asked at check out how my service was today, I replied, "it was ok." She responded with, "would you like to add gratuity." read more

Seriously just got into town and needed a moment to myself. The staff was amazing from the moment I booked my appointment to the suggestions of what products I can use in my daily routine. I got greeted by three smiling faces and one offered me a drink. The green tea is exactly what I needed. I had Noely as my stylist and she was so welcoming and warm. We had a quick consultation and off to get the process started. She made me laugh and I enjoyed that too. I got my hair washed, blow dried and styled in a good time . I like this Drybar. It's clean, never a wait and good stylists. I've been there 4 times and I'd have to say that obviously you have to find the stylist that works best with you. Not everyone understands your hair type etc but overall each time my hair has either looked amazing or good and for the price , can't ask for much more . read more
