This was My FIRST time. First let me say Analei did an amazing job with my blowout, I loved it & it lasted! It was exactly what I wanted. I came in on my birthday because getting this service was a gift to myself as I have never had a blow out before. She is the only reason they get stars tbh. I give this business & location 3/5 stars because my very first interaction with someone who worked there (the receptionist/whoever answers when you call) was rude. I called to ask what the grace period was just so I was aware & the woman tells me "you have 10-15 minutes" I said "ok no problem, I will be there in about 5 so I'll be okay" she then responds by telling me "more than likely they will still cancel one of my service add ons". (Confused) I let her know I will be there shortly & you just told me I have 15 minutes max but now you're telling me they will have to remove one of my services. I realize she's arguing with me & we're going back and forth (the customer is always right clearly didn't exist in her brain). I said, we will talk about it when I get there & hung up. I arrived Analei took care of me and got all services that I booked for taken care of & was super kind. Ultimately her bad attitude on my special day left a sour taste well before I even walked in their door. In my opinion you don't argue or go back and forth with a customer. There are hundreds of other places I could've gone but I chose DryBar River Oaks & unfortunately now I will have this to compare the next time I want a blow out. read more

I have come to drybar many times, including this location, and have the same blowout from one of their photos each time. This time, my stylist was not professionally trained to do the task. I have chin length hair and chose the standard blowout options, and I shared that I had events over the next few days, the weather would be very humid, and I and needed the hair to last. She offered that she should use hot tools, which struck me at the time as a slightly odd response, because that wouldn't stop frizz. After washing my hair, she then rough dried the top until it was mostly dry and frizzy and then used a brush to blow out the hair in all different directions, only attempting to smooth the middle. Then wrapped the top (still frizzy) in rollers. The rest was wet in the back and she continued to blow it dry in this odd way and putting rollers in with wet hair. She then used a curling iron. I should have know that this was taking forever and that she didn't have any idea what she was doing. She took everything out and asked how it looked. It looked awful and nothing like the photo. It was frizzy and kinky at the top, so she tried blowing it out again and curling. Finally after an hour, I said I was done. It was never going to be right, because she didn't know what she was doing. At the counter they asked how it went and I said terrible. I asked if my stylist was new and the girl said yes. She was about to go ahead and charge me the full amount and I said no. The manager came over and asked what was it I wanted my hair to look like. I pointed to the standard photo, which they are supposed to train all their stylists to do. He didn't apologize at all. He changed the charge to a dry styling. I had to wash and redo my hair. What a waste and a really disappointing experience. They are putting out stylists that aren't professionals. I would not go back. read more

I had a event to go to so I booked a appointment (booked appt on Wednesday for Friday of same week) with low expectations of what my hair would look like after.. it being shoulder length, but was blown away (lol) by the results! I've never walked away from Drybar unhappy. Always had a good blowout and styling. But a styling from Giacomo? Holy hell. I sashay out of that salon singing "I woke up like dis." Plans must be made for that evening because that blowout is to fabulous to stay in. Dates. Dinner dates. I'll be damned if I go for a workout later that day. Hell nah. And my volume and shine lasts - for days. Their Barfly membership has increased to $80/month. It's still worth it for me since I don't have to buy as much expensive ass shampoo/conditioner, spend forever and a day blowing out my hair (I have a large head of lettuce). I have thick long hair that badly needs cut, my stylist (I can't remember her name but she is pregnant and I say this so management can give her some recognition for a great job) did a wonderful wonderful job, I was very happy with the end result. She worked her magic and in good time, which bodes well with me as I honestly hate sitting around for hours and it looked gorgeous. I must admit, although it did loose it's bounce relatively quickly, but I'm going to chalk that up to the fact it does need cut so it's very heavy at the moment. They give you a drink of your choice and there was a chic flick playing. I was in and out quite quickly and was very happy with service. I'll be intrigued to see how my hair holds up when it's freshly cut so I will be back and I'll update accordingly! read more

I wish I knew her name so I could not recommend her. I could've done my hair better than she did. She seemed so inexperienced and I literally wanted to cry when I left because I've never had a bad experience at the Dry Bar. I am going to a wedding and thought this would be a nice treat but looking at my hair now... I should've done my haIr myself and not waste my money. I asked for the cosmo and have some pieces pinned back. They wanted to charge me for an updo but after negotiating, they agreed it would be a $10 up charge. Still not worth it. Awesome blowouts every time. These people are pros. I love that I can count on looking good when I leave and that my blowout will last at least 3-4 days, no matter which stylist I'm assigned. They greet me by name when I walk in the door and are happy to accomodate my silly requests for purple shampoo, no product after the shampoo bowl, etc. I recently called and asked if I could come in 15 minutes early and their response was "sure Mrs. Polly"! It's now my go-to location! There are closer locations to my home but I will drive the extra few miles to ensure satisfaction! If I could give zero stars I would. We have been sitting in front of this location for 30 minutes and the doors are locked tight and people have been pulling on the door for the whole time. Customer service hung up on us twice while we were waiting for an explanation. Customer service (the third representative) said oh yeah, they are closed. We were in from out of town and on our way to a formal event and did not have any way to have our hair done. Customer service said "they didn't tell us they were closing but we can see that they are closed." We had notifications even today reminding us of our appointment and we did the covid waiver and all. The managers know me and if my stylist aren't in they will always find one that will do well with my hair and the way I like it. I had a fantastic experience here. They had plenty of availability because it was awful weather and had many cancellations so I was able to get In with no issues. I wish I could remember the girls name who did my hair... Dimitra?? She even gave me a heads up that she had only done this style 2 times and I was like, well, it can only be better than how I would do my hair so I told her to go for it. The end result was awesome. Not the best blowout I've had...but I think it's cause of the stylist I got. The shampoo wash wasn't at all soothing, I felt like my hair was getting pulled too much and the water was dripping down my neck. Style wise, I asked for the Cosmopolitan look (loose curls) with not too much volume on top and I asked that the curls last all night since I was going to a wedding. She used the small barrel curler on me and it ended up too princess-y. I ended up re-doing most of it myself when I got home! The franchise in general is amazing and they have a popular product line but I just feel like my specific stylist at this location didn't deliver what I wanted. But great ambience in the salon including mimosas and chick flicks on a TV screen for the ultimate relaxation. If you go, make sure you ask for a stylist you know is good or have clear communication with what style you're looking for! read more
