I can't in good faith recommend this company. I knew I needed my dryer cleaned because I could see build up and to that point, it has been many years. As soon as KD came out, I started to think he seemed familiar? Many years ago I had someone similar at the house who stood at my kitchen counter for over an hour talking to me about his ideas of health and wellness. The services are reasonably priced and he does a good job cleaning the dryer, but he fancies himself as a 'healer,' and so he will give all different (unsolicited) ideas as to how your medical issues should be solved, from hypnosis to a silent room to breathing to crystals to past life regression. It's highly inappropriate. The other thing is he told me I had gas issue in my dryer, which I've never smelled before, and to get this looked at immediately. He said his eyes were burning and he could smell it! I had someone out this morning who is not only a general technician, but used to work for the same brand as my dryer ---he said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my dryer. Sigh. So not only did I get charged more for what occurred yesterday, I got lectured about my health and how it's all in my head, and then I was told there was a major safety issue with my dryer that doesn't exist. Dryer Fires was actually my second call. The first was unable to locate the dryer vent to the outside after crawling around in my attic and on my roof. DF entered the house wearing shoe covers and after a short period of time found the vent on an outside wall. King David was very conscientious in keeping things clean, arrived at the specified time and was able to clean out the duct using a 35' "hose" to allow the air to flow once again. I was quoted $100, but was charged extra for moving the HEAVY machines and changing out my dryer vent conduit. Would hire again. He did what the other company could not! Beyond exceptional service!!! From the initial contact to make the appointment to the day of service, my expectations were exceeded every step of the way. I used them for 2 chimneys on gas fireplaces and a dryer vent cleaning. I have a new tenant moving in while I was doing the turnover clean, I smelled creosote while running the fireplaces. The owner came out to clean my dryer vents today. He made the whole thing painless for me. He replaced the tubing on the back with fire-retardant tubing and he also cleaned out the front of the vent where you usually manually clean every time you dry a load. I wasn't home when the guy came, but he seems to have done a great job. He also gave my husband a tip to purchase a flexible vacuum attachment to clean the inside of the dryer. I purchased one and did so, and I was horrified at the amount of lint that I sucked up. I do wonder why he didn't go ahead and do that for us. ‍ Now I am concerned that probably everyone else in my building is overdue. Not a reputable business. Tried to take advantage of me because other fireplace repair companies were busy. Originally quoted one price and then the price changed dramatically. Wanted to charge me $100 / hour labor plus parts. Made up repairs that did not need to be done. No firm estimate given. Wanted me to authorize repair with a blank check. Thank goodness I called Dryer Fires! My dryer was taking too long to dry clothes; researching I discovered I needed to have the dryer vent cleaned. King David found a fire disaster waiting to happen. He checked everything, changed out the hose, which was (1) the wrong type and (2) completely clogged with lint and tons of water. He checked the flapper and did some repair work to get it opening (had never been operational in six years!). Communication was also first rate, with text messages reminding of the appointment and another saying he was on his way. On top of all that, his cost was extremely reasonable. Amazing, I barely know where to start. I asked David to come and clean out our clogged dryer vent. You would not even believe the stuff that came out - 2 years worth of hair and dead cell skins from the previous owner - ick! David took the time to show me everything he was doing.
