I recently contacted Black Mountain Air to schedule a Spring 'tune up'. When I called Kyra happen to answer the phone; she was the tech that performed the previous Fall tune up. After chatting a little bit, we scheduled an appointment. Yannik was scheduled to come to my house to perform a Spring tune up. I received an automated booking verification via the email and phone number I had provided. I received an email and text informing me of the name of the tech along with a photo of him, and verification of appointment day and time frame. I received email and text reminders the night before and the morning of the scheduled appointment. Yannick was on time, personable, and professional. He answered questions I had and then performed the tune up service. Payment for services rendered was handled upon completion of the service using a credit card reader. Installer Brandon has done all 3 and is prompt, friendly and professional as well as appreciative of the food and drinks we leave out while installation is in process. Black Mountain Air has taken care of my air conditioning repairs three times over the last few years. I've been pleased with their service and work each time. My most recent repair was in June. We returned from a weekend away to find that our upstairs unit was out. Black Mountain has online booking so I immediately made an appointment that way. On a Sunday evening I was able to get an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. This was in the middle of 110+ degree temperatures so I was worried the wait would be longer. Robert arrived on Tuesday afternoon and I was glad to see him. He's the same technician that repaired my air conditioning a year prior. I like his honest, no pressure approach. Robert took a look and determined the part that caused the problem. He was honest with me that the unit was now working. He let me know that the repair would be $600, but asked if I wanted to wait since the unit was working. I decided to go ahead with the repair since my toddler was refusing to sleep in the only bedroom with air conditioning and my parents were coming for a 10 day visit. I felt good about that decision and with spending the money because Robert wasn't pushy. It was such a hot day and Robert got right to work in the attic. He had everything done in about an hour. So so disappointed. I've been a long time customer of this business. I've sent many customers their way and even wrote a favorable Yelp review years ago. I called them to my home because my fan motor (that blows the air through the house) went out. The temperature inside is up to 96° in the bedrooms. You know what it's like in Vegas. I'm recovering from surgery and I have a relative staying with me who is recovering from a brain injury who needs to stay cool. The technician came out climbed up into the attic a half hour later came down and told me that their supervisor said they don't want to deal with it because the fan is too old. The part of the unit that holds the fan is about 20 years old. The rest of the system is only 7 years old. I know a little bit about HVAC and fans are easy to replace, not a big deal. I also know enough about the HVAC business that the price point is much higher if they can sell you a new unit than do a simple repair during the high volume season, which is now. I'm just so saddened and hurt that a company I endorsed would just turn its back on me especially when we need their help for health purposes. They showed me their true colors and I hope others who read this will see those colors too. Shame on them. By the way I called another company and did the job in an hour. Response to owner: You are very wrong. 1. your company was the last company to service this machine. The faulty work was done by your people. 2-The house is not 27 years old so neither is the unit. 3. Wow! 3 years of having this company and I have to write a review. 1. We have 3 new units they installed and they are a great value for installs 2. We have had a couple of minor issues which Todd who I believe is the owner quickly resolved and paid personal attention to. My upstairs AC died on Thursday and Black Mountain Air was able to squeeze me in on Friday. I can't say enough good things about this company. They won't upsell you, they won't cheat you, they won't pressure you, they won't sell you a bigger system than you need.....none of the garbage that seems to permeate this industry. From Kyra in the office to the guys in the field (Andrew, Michael and another super friendly guy whose name I can't remember), everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and they're just overall good people. He didn't pressure me and let me make the call; he just provided the information and his concerns and that was it. In Vegas it is very difficult to find fair and honest service companies. I have found one with Black Mountain Air. They have worked on my AC/heat for a few years now and every time I have dealt with them it's been great. My air went out once and when they came, they said it was just a loose wire and fixed it at no charge. When the unit has needed repairs their prices are much better than the other companies. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way I was treated by this company. They came out for a service call my upstairs was freezing and the thermostat was supposed to be off. I have a newborn baby, my electrical bill doubled because there was something wrong and they said everything was normal. The next day I called with the same issue and they scheduled an appointment and then called me back to say they wouldn't be able to come because an "emergency" call came up. We called and the very next day they sent their technician, Robert to check it out. Could not be happier with our choice. From the initial contact, great service. Called for a service call in late April for a potential problem with a 27yr old unit. We decided to replace our entire a/c, which included the outside unit and in attic air handler. They had a slot open the next morning and we took it. Said they would show at 7am and they were right on time. 4 guys, very professional and right to work. Whole thing done around 11am and excellent outcome. My folks had their AC unit replaced by Black Mountain Air, so when my AC unit started freezing over I gave them a call. Tech #1 comes out, spends 5 minutes on the roof, tells me its fine and to change my filters. He did not even look at the filters, he just left. I use lifetime filters rated for my system and wash them on the first of every month. They were squeaky clean. I called the office back and asked that they send a different tech out. The next day tech #2 comes out, spends 5 minutes on the roof, and tells me it's fine. He says I'm running the AC too hard and need to turn the thermostat up to 80 when it's hot out. I've lived in this house for 10 years and never had the thermostat ever set that high. I called the office back and asked for yet another tech. He comes out and spends 5 minutes on the roof, says its fine up there and it's got to be an airflow issue, might be an issue with the ductwork. He doesn't do that though, so he said to call the office back and left. I called them back and they gave me the runaround and did not want to send a tech out to address the ductwork in the attic. I went into the attic myself and could not find any issues with the ductwork. Eventually they sent one more tech out who also believed it to be an airflow issue, also said everything on the roof is fine, and also refused to get into the attic and check the ductwork. Absolutely fed up with Black Mountain Air, I did some searching online and called Fire N Ice. Told them the whole history and they send a duct expert out. He spent 5 minutes in the attic and said the ductwork is fine, so he went to the roof to inspect the unit. A few minutes later he comes down the ladder with two parts in hand - the capacitor and the contactor for the blower motor, both scorched black and refuse to pass any current on a tester. This whole time, my blower motor was not getting power at all, and the only airflow we were feeling was from the fan on the compressor itself! Fire N Ice had the parts replaced and the system back up 100% inside an hour, they did a great job. Black Mountain Air's utter incompetence could have easily burned up my compressor and left me with a completely avoidable several thousand dollar bill. I would not trust any tech at this shop to do so much as change a filter, because they can't even tell when one is clean or dirty. They charged me hundreds of dollars to do less work on the system than I have done myself! Avoid this shop like COVID-19! read more

They NEVER followed up for the spring ac tune up appt. I want to take a moment to express how thoroughly satisfied I was with this company. Often times as a consumer we see far too often people taking short cuts, inflating prices, or not taking pride in the product they produce. I can say you will not experience any of that with Black Mountain Air. It was time to replace two AC units at my house as well as both furnaces after almost 16 years of service & being the original units installed when the house was built. I began with researching AC units, & then started scheduling appoints for estimates. Each company was carefully reviewed by me as much as I feasibly could. After getting 4 estimates, I decided to go with Black Mountain Air, not only because the price was very competitive, but they offered an excellent warranty but most of all they didn't attempt to push any AC brand on me. In fact they went over numerous brands with me over the phone & what they thought each one did better or differently than the last. This was a big job, it took the crew two full days to complete it, but not only did they do a quality job on this large project they did it with pride in the craftsmanship of their work. Down to wrapping the UV tape on the pipes outside, perfectly. They even inspected each others work, to make sure it was done right!! On the first day of the job the crew ran into an issue with the furnace hangers in the attic, the new equipment would fit & they could have easily squeezed it in there & made it "work" but no they didn't. When speaking to Will one of the lead technicians he said "I don't like the way this was done, we're pulling it all out & redoing it all because that's the right way you do a job like this, if another technician services your furnaces I want them to make sure they have easy access to the panels. Hours later after hamming, drilling, & all sorts of noise in the attic they basically rearranged the furnace hangers and positioned the two furnaces so they were clean, accessible, and done right. Later in the evening the owner Todd came by to assist with the work as well as make sure I was ok with them pulling a late night to make it right. The next day they completed the furnaces, both AC units, and tested everything to make sure it was working correctly with no issues. They covered the floor, closet, etc. with plastic & vacuumed up every section of the house they were in. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend this company, they have actual tradesman that take real pride in the craftsmanship of the work they do, that's rare these days. So, of course our 20 year old AC unit goes out in the middle of summer with an excessive heat warning. We had home warranty which we did not use but that is a rant all by itself. I researched HVAC companies because for our situation, the home warranty was literally taking forever despite the weather was averaging 108F. We had to find someone that could do something ASAP same day or next. Inside our house, was averaging 98F and we were without AC for 10 days! Would have been more days if we still had waited for Home Warranty... (American Home Shield). Living in the desert, AC is a necessity and a priority. Our compressor went out but decided to install the whole system because ours was 20 yrs old anyways. I went online to schedule a free estimate because it was after hours. The estimator came in, did some measurements, was friendly, put on his booties and mask, etc. The estimate wasn't the cheapest but wasn't the most expensive. We got a 14Seer Trane 3 ton split system, furnace, coils, etc, the whole shabang. Desperate times made me want to go with whoever could replace it TODAY. What ultimately led me to go with Black Mountain Air was their awesome customer service of pretty much everyone I talked to or met, as well as the 2 year labor warranty with their company (most is just 1 yr). My Trane system has 10 yrs parts warranty. Also reading other peoples reviews and the fact that they had 5 stars. After experiencing my home warranty, I do not want to risk anything less than 5 stars for HVAC companies. They do offer financing through a third party. Although my wife has great credit we ended up with 10.99%. I would suggest your own financial institution because I thought that was high but we wanted it done right away and at least they had financing options. I scheduled work for the next available day. We almost had to wait another day because the condenser was going to come in the day of but they didn't know at what time. Todd texted me to keep the work scheduled as planned and install it when it comes in. Luckily the part came in not too late in the day and they were able to install it completely that day. Michael and Will came in around 8am, finished around 4pm. Super nice and friendly, they put down a sheet so they wouldn't mess up my carpets, cleaned up after the work was done. Did a check on the system, gave me my paperwork, and everything was good to go. A drywall guy, Jose came a couple days later to patch up the attic area. He was friendly as well. Black Mountain is very communicative, transparent with everything, and priced competitively. They were updating me via email and text which I appreciate. Although they say they have emergency services, there's no emergency hotline. I did however email them after hours and got a text back within an hour from Todd the owner. So there's some assurance there, for when I have problems in the future if it's an emergency (hopefully not anytime soon). Eight years ago when our A/C went out I called Black Mountain Air in Henderson (shop locally), two young men came out installed a new unit. They were professional, friendly and got the job done in a timely matter. Since than every year we call Black Mountain to do a well check on the unit to make sure we're good for the Summer. A few days ago the unit was not blowing cool air, I called, they came out said it was a burnt wire, repaired it, AT NO COST, who does that?? I recently had an encounter with Black Mountain Air that could have gone horribly wrong but didn't. I have an aging system that recently gave up the ghost and BMA did their utmost to help me. Long story short, they performed a hail Mary repair on my condenser that lasted only one day. BUT, they did refund the repair. Kudos! I called Black Mountain Air based on many high reviews on yelp. I called on a Tuesday to set an appointment as soon as possible due to my AC randomly stop working. I was able to get a AC tech for the next day for 1pm. Andrew arrived 20 mins early & fixed my issue very quickly & got my AC working again. Andrew was very knowledgeable & friendly. I only needed 1 simple part for my AC unit. I'm glad the company is honest with their customers & don't upsell any unnecessary services ! The price was very reasonable for repairs .
