We were so excited to try Dryft. It was a gorgeous spring day and we longed for a new outdoor dining experience. Dryft came highly recommended. We drove up from Eastie and easily found parking on the street. We arrived to what I would describe as a trendy chic spot. Deep house pulsates rather loudly in the outdoor areas. Furnishings are contemporary, everything is modern and hip. We arrived to the hostess station where things were slow, confusing and rather inefficient in many ways. We slowed down expectations and let things unfold. It took 15 minutes or so before we ultimately sat at a lovely outdoor table. I won't go into what transpired in 15 minutes because everyone, including the young inexperienced hostesses were consummate professionals trying their best. Food came fast, plating was pretty. We had a food miss where we ordered "no onion" but a pre made slaw came with the foul red onion so we ordered something new. The wine pours are great and the whites, icy cold. Views of the water are nice. People watching is top. Curiously, our oyster app came last but the briny treats were tasty. When we let go and let things unfold, we were fine. There were a lot of mishaps that did cause my anxiety to rocket but I teach mindfulness and just breathed, allowing the entire experience to "just be". The food was out quick and everything tasted exceptional from the mahi mahi, swordfish, octopus, and more! The Passiflora was so sweet I'm not sure there was any alcohol actually in it. We started with the grilled octopus and it didn't disappoint! I'd highly recommend to get this as a starter. For entrees, I got the Faroe Island Salmon with shrimp fried rice, it was also very delicious. Salmon was cooked well and there was a good amount of shrimp as well. The Mahi Mahi wasn't bad either, just a little on the dry side. Probably wouldn't go back and order it again. The atmosphere was fun and lively with music playing. Feel horrible giving this place a 1-star considering this is now basically the "hangout spot" for some of us in Revere, the food and drinks are amazing and most of the staff there is incredibly amazing at what they do but this experience completely overshadows that type of experience. Usually, you can walk in here and receive very good service, feel welcomed, and attended to even when incredibly busy. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case in this last visit. It was moderately busy, but they had 4 bartenders in the outer patio bar and service was going visibly smoothly. Ana, one of the bartenders, frankly, ruined the image that the rest of the staff there have as we've never encountered bad service until last night. We had a party of about 6 of us at the bar. I stood and patiently waited to get service for a solid 35 minutes, while she not only walked by me 6 times and in 4 of them looked at me eye-to-eye ignoring that I was politely asking her for service, she would stop to go chat with her coworkers and other parties before coming to service us, mind you she greeted us, so its not like she didn't even acknowledged us. Whole thing was made even worse when she attended to a small party of 2 who arrived about 15 minutes later as we are still waiting on service. At one point, she clearly saw me ask her if I may please order a few drinks through her, she looked at me signaling she had heard me, walked away and continued to ignore me, my friends all noticed and two other parties at tables close by even asked, "What is her issue?". At this point, I ask my friends if we go inside instead as she clearly doesn't want to service me. Once she noticed we were going to proceed inside, she asked what it was we wanted to order, all we wanted was food and drinks, which we ended up ordering it through her, as she made it look like it was getting ordered in the computer, why do I say it like this? Keep reading! 15 minutes go by, and she asks again, what were our drinks and food order were, ok we get it, maybe she forgot... We repeat them back, she came back 5 minutes later and again asked for our drinks, which we found odd, but still repeated it. At this moment, another friend joined my table and requested a Redbull to which she responded she didn't have any but 10 minutes later someone else asked and they had a fridge full of them. Friends and I remained here even though some of us were already feeling annoyed by the service but ignored it. Food and drinks were great, weather was awesome, music was great too, so mind as well move on and just enjoy the ambience which is main reason we came. We finish our drinks and food, and my friend went over to her and asked if she could kindly, please send bill to our table, to which she said "absolutely". Another 25 minutes later go by and we had to ask someone else who noticed we had asked for the bill, and he even was surprised, we hadn't gotten it yet. Basically, it's ok if you don't want to service someone. We get it also if it's been a long day, because I am also in this industry. However, to fully ignore someone who you have acknowledged several times, go chat with friends and others as you are watching someone request service from you, and to stand there and basically roll your eyes at someone anytime they asked for something simple or lie about not having a product when you clearly did, its simply just not ok. I recommend the crab and lobster eggs Benedict and steak and eggs. I keep drooling when I see the French toast. Must get it next time. Kids favorite was the shrimp and linguine. The lobster risotto was good but on the salty side and it missed the spicy I expected. Calamari was crisp and tender. The tuna w pasta was average. Again - on the salty side and the tuna could be fresher. And the brunch fish tacos we had the first time we came was good! The fresh salad that accompanies it was generous. It's our second time here and we will add it to our list of restaurants we frequent. Short ride from the airport area. Found Dryft near the Mission Beach House. Sat at the outside bar that had good view of the water and beach. Atmosphere is not directly on the water, but a short walk. I had the burger with a salad. The burger was VERY good! The service was prompt and polite at the bar. I'd say price for what you get is $$... not $$$. If you're in Revere beach, highly recommend dropping by for a bite and a beer. read more

We were looking for a little "getaway" during COVID times, and I came across Dryft while checking out new restaurants nearby. Dryft was a perfect place to feel like we were getting away, but still saying safe. The outdoor dining is a lovely, and overlooks Revere Beach, while the food was simply delicious and very fresh. The staff were extremely professional and friendly while adhering to strict COVID guidelines and regulations. While we were there, we saw a great diversity in the diners - which was refreshing! There were families that were looking for a bite to eat after a day at the beach, and there were North Shore youngsters with YSL bags waiting to dine outside.
