Went to this place Sunday morning after moving our son into his dorm the day before. Went in and saw a 4 top table empty, and was asked if we could sit, the rude woman inside then asked if my family was "next" I told her she needed to come outside and check as we didn't know who was next as there was no organization to the way people were to be seated. She said she didn't believe me and said she was going on the honor system as if telling her to go outside and check I was trying to get one over on her. Are you kidding me, what kind of restaurant seats customers like this. Then 20 min later they sat us down, took our drink order and a few minutes later our food order. We sat there for an hour and nine minutes with no food. Everyone that sat after us had their order and was almost done eating. We asked how much longer and the same woman said there were 3 tickets ahead of us. She then proceeded to tell me that they were busy because of the move in weekend and "they couldn't just turn out food in 15 minutes. I told her it would be different if it had only been 15 or 20 minutes, but we had been there over an hour. She then said "it's been over an hour, well you know time flies when you are having fun". At that point I told her I would pay for the drinks and we had to go. She sarcastically told the cook that we didn't have time and we had to go. What a way to treat potential customers. Won't be going back and will be telling all our college parents to avoid this place at all costs. read more

Dee's needs to move to a bigger location. This place is packed. Why, because the food is off the hook and the prices are great. Veggie and meat lovers omelettes are busting at the seems with fillings. On a lighter note try the grilled fish sandwich on a hoagie bun with grilled veggies. You can't tell it's a healthy dish. Hands down if I have a morning off to go sit and enjoy breakfast, THIS is my place. I enjoy the vibes I get from the diner; a very homey feel. You can show up in casual attire, work attire, or my favorite your PJ's. The whole staff gives off this welcoming feel about them, which to me feels genuine. I ordered a french toast and my hubby got the sausage, egg & cheese sandwich. We both got a side of cheesy grits and of course we loved everything, down to the sweet tea! This is some darn good food. The young lady that was my waitress was very good. Checked on me often. Prices are very good . Great value these days where many meals are in excess of $10 to 12 including drink. Lunch specials are $6.99 The lacy corn bread was a treat. Not too many places have this. If you happen to be in town for a week I highly recommend RJ's at least twice. I will probably be back tonight for supper for one of those steaks on the menu. read more

Good place to get a breakfast. The spinach, mushroom, and cheese omelette was very good. A lot of vegetables and cheese made the omelette very moist and not dry like how others cook the eggs. Grits were good along with biscuits and white gravy. A very good place to start a morning. Much better than Waffle House next door. read more

First, our table was dirty. Then, after we ordered we were told they were missing a key ingredient and we needed to pick something else. We ended up just going with burgers. I got a water, maybe it is a Statesboro thing, but it tasted off. The sweet tea was good though. The burger buns came out toasted, which I like - but these were burnt! After trying to eat I went to wash my hands.....there was water in the soap dispenser!! How are the staff washing their hands???? We love supporting mom and pop places but I just can't justify giving this place any more stars. read more

This place is a hidden gem, I heard about it from a local and tried it out. When we walked in we instantly felt like family. The owner happily greeted us and showed us to our seats. I ordered the "chicken lovers omelette" and my friend had what they called "the more than enough platter" and we were both blown away by the quality and love put into our dishes. Well it's a fine October morning, and another great mom and pop diner. This diner is located in a strip mall and it's buzzing with life; locals eating having good conversation. Now on to the food, what can I say very tasty full of flavor. The Pecan pancakes are so soft and fluffy they melt in your mouth. The main meal which consist of fresh sausage,egg and grits. The grits were prepared with butter only I had to add salt & pepper. The eggs were prepared well. And last the fresh sausage oh my goodness. That's all I can say, if you have high BP stay away from it lol lol. It's a once in a blue moon delight for myself. Don't look for some upscale spot in D's. iIt's a mom and pop breakfast diner that doesn't stray away from their purpose. We all know what that purpose is, serving a good meal. Yo, I walked past this diner every day when i got off school and always thought it was a crappy diner. D's Friendly Diner, I humbly apologize for neglecting your graces for so long. My boyfriend took me here this morning and the french toast put my grandma to shame. despite this tiny place being absolutely packed, everything came incredibly fast and fresh off the grill. the servers don't mess around and the atmosphere is quite loose. if yelp did 10 star ratings i would give this place 20. also the cook in the kitchen this morning is hilarious. read more

We had a great breakfast here on my husband's birthday. The fresh sausage. Is as tasty as the old Ratchford's in Guyton was, which is saying a lot! Eggs and hash browns were good, too. When I told them about the birthday, they brought my hubby an extra pancake with a chocolate happy face and a candle. So warm--we felt like we were with family.
