Side of biscuits with gravy ( no meat)

A small, simple breakfast diner ( definitely need some fly strips) with the potential to be amazing. Visited on our first day in Statesboro. Hubby order a side order of biscuits and gravy (meat not included) and eggs over easy with sausage patties and bacon. I ordered the fried pork chop, eggs over easy and grits with sourdough toast. We both had coffee. My pork chops was hella salty! I could be wrong but I wondered if they cook the chops in salt pork fat? It seemed to have THAT level of saltiness-unlike just over salting during prep. Eggs were great but grits also seemed well salted but I wouldn't put it into the same category as the pork chop and toast was burnt. Hubby's bacon was also hella salty and if I didn't already do my best to get through my extremely salty pork chop, I would have eaten that hella salty bacon and loved it (I love salt pork). We couldn't eat it all due to the level of salt but made an honest effort. I think this could have been an off day and we loved the simple , hometown diner experience but they truly would benefit from keeping the flies under control. I would definitely try them again , especially because our waiter was a super sweet and respectful young man. Hopefully, they will pay more attention to the salting of the food.

This was a great breakfast and so tasty. I had a fantastic pancake with a blueberry waffle, a Spinach Turkey sausage omlette and crispy finely shredded hasbrown... Oh my!! It was so good. The service was so friendly and down to earth to make everybody feel welcome. The atmosphere was cozy that you can easily spend a couple of hours just chatting with friends in a both and enjoying some lovely meals and beverages. I would definitely recommend D's Diner to everyone. It is a Georgia Gem

Great new find! I visited D's Friendly Diner yesterday and Man, it was great! Fantastic food with quick and friendly service. I am posting two recent pictures of the menu, because I only saw old menu pictures on Yelp. And, I should mention that the prices are great! Way more reasonable than others. Inflation is here but not so much at D's. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy, two eggs, grits and toast - $8.29. Can't beat that!

No frills. Good food. Be prepared to wait a few minutes but tables turn quickly. We had breakfast here. Would go back! My kind of place. In and out quickly for a solid meal and doesn't break the bank. Checked all my boxes. Need to try lunch next time!

Southern diner food at its finest. The food is quickly prepared and tasty, perfect for any morning breakfast. The diner is small and can get really busy at times, but I have always had an enjoyable experience! Also, I have ordered to-go orders here multiple times during the week and it is very easy.

Veggie omelette, added spinach, sub pepper jack cheese, with hash browns & grilled wheat toast

My boyfriend & I are D's regulars & it's our absolute favorite breakfast spot in Statesboro--maybe even Savannah, too! We've definitely driven an hour just to get our go-to veggie omelettes early on a Sunday morning. We pretty much always get the same thing (veggie omelette (the vegetables are AMAZINGLY FRESH & the omelettes are huge), add spinach, fresh sausage (to die for), hash browns, loaded with cheese, spinach & onions, grilled toast), so I can't speak much to their lunch or other items, but everything is insanely fresh, portions are generous & the food is delicious. Writing this review in true compliment sandwich style, there are a few small areas of improvement, but nothing that would ever deter us from returning. Just little things to note. We often have to ask for condiments more than once & our check is ever-so-slightly different each time even though we get exactly the same thing every time. Granted we're 100% those annoying people who add like 5 things a piece, so it's understandable to a degree, but still odd. It's never more than $2-$3 or so, so it's nothing we'll fight over. If you're the type to haggle over $0.50 & your friends wouldn't describe you as patient, you probably will complain about your experience. I humbly ask you to get over it because the food is 2,000% worth it. Also, life is short so consider lightening up a bit ;) The staff is so sweet & helpful, very friendly & familiar. It's a super casual, slower pace, extremely friendly experience, so if you're looking for chain culture or fine dining, this isn't your place. If you're looking for great value, delicious food & to feel like part of the family, head to D's! Can't wait to see y'all again!!

We promptly got sat by the lovely staff working. We sat outside, I ordered an Aperol spritz and my husband got a Bloody Mary. All of our drinks were delicious, reasonably priced. The Bloody Mary wasn't spicy (although a table next to us was complaining it was...), and the Hugo spritz was SO refreshing! They for the fresh mint from their herbs out front! Only complaint was we prefer our espresso martinis to be mostly espresso heavy, and this one was more cream heavy. We ordered the Brussels, country breakfast (subbed cheese grits instead of pancakes because we're gluten free) and got a side of fresh fruit. It was so much food. We didn't finish it all! The grits were nicely seasoned and cheesy. Brussels were super crispy and not drenched in grease or sauce. Eggs were nice and salty, potatoes were fried nicely. Everything was great. We would love to come back for lunch or dinner - especially happy hour. It wasn't too loud and we felt there was plenty of seating.

Very reasonably priced all-you-can-eat at $12,50 family style, we loved eeverything. We were there right at the 11 AM opening, so I took lots of pics the dining areas, so beautiful. We were the first party in there for dinner and were seated in one of the many dining rooms in front of a window overlooking the porch. Shortly after being seated and getting our drinks we were served our dinner family style. We had dishes with fried chicken and barbecue chicken, black eyed peas, cabbage, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits. Everything was good, but nothing was particularly special. It was a good meal and a good price. Our service was excellent and we were quickly offered refills on anything we finished. The star was definitely the ambiance, it was such a beautiful old building!! I will definitely visit on my next visit!!!

I had a mushroom cheese quesadillas & it came with chips & salsa. Since the person I was with was also eating the chips & salsa I asked for more. No problem until we got the bill. The "suggestions" cost extra, and we were charged for the additional chips and salsa. If that's their policy okay, but please let the diners know ahead of time. Also, my quesadilla consisted of 3 pieces. Every other place I've ordered one there were 6 pieces & I took 3 home for the next day. Also, I'm considered tiny - 4'11", about 108# & 3 pieces was not enough food.

Most recent trip a lady at the GSU football game recommended it. Me and my two alumni buds opted to check out. It has a decent outdoor area and an interior that reminds me of Taco Mac. Atmosphere was good and our server was great. The Buffalo chicken artichoke dip with points was the only thing I enjoyed food-wise. The fried green tomatoes weren't really seasoned and the tequila lime chicken sammie wasn't anything to write about. Ordinary. I guess if you're a college student, this place will suffice for price, food proportions and atmosphere. I do like it's not a chain and always want to support local. Average, however. Maybe I need to try a different menu item ...

Ambiance/Decor: It's a diner so it's a bit loud. But it was comfortable, this is Statesboro and I was still in my gym clothes so it was enjoyable. Cute bar. But I do wish for more noise softening. Food n drink: Nice cocktail list and robust for a small place. Grasshopper cocktail was good and perfect for after dinner cocktail. Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer was very good. Pasta Jambalaya was very good. I wasn't a fan of Fish Platter that I requested to be blackened. It was way too blackened in my opinion. The sides seemed over processed but I ate most of it.
