You don't find good people like this anymore! These guys are honest and quality plumbers. I called and they were responsive (same day appointment!). They were not able to fix the issue (apparently our pipe is broken/crushed and we have to dig up the entire foundation to replace the pipe-yay for new houses!) but they were able to diagnosis the issue using a camera. They were wayyyyyy cheaper than the other plumbers we called and are very clearly good people not trying to take advantage of people. They also were very kind and included my 4 year old who asked a million questions and was very engaged and interested in what was going on. I cannot recommend them enough. This is a family owned business that cares about the quality of the work. read more

I hired Millersville Plumbing to install a sewer pipe, and while I expected the usual disruptions that come with a project like this, I was completely unprepared for the lack of accountability and the poor quality of work that followed. They subcontracted the backhoe work, which I was not informed of upfront. That subcontractor didn't just damage my irrigation system--they caused five separate breaks and buried the damaged lines so deep that repairs ended up costing me over $1,000. Millersville Plumbing took no responsibility for this, offering only to "grate and cover" the area with seed and topsoil. I asked them to skip the seed and just apply topsoil and grate the area. Today, my sod installer had to scrape off the so-called topsoil because it was full of wood chips and debris--more like leftover mulch than anything suitable for grass. The quality was unacceptable. To be fair, the on-site foreman was courteous and genuinely tried to help, but the overall impression I'm left with is that the owner doesn't care about customer service or standing behind the work being done under their name. I expected better communication, responsibility, and professionalism--none of which I received. I would not recommend Millersville Plumbing, especially for projects that require coordination with other contractors or any degree of follow-through. read more

I'd rate Millersville Plumbing zero stars if it were possible. We invited them out to tackle a simple stopped-up kitchen sink because I didn't have time to take care of it right then. Tech came out next day and did not clear it. So, my wife called to explain we were still having issues and was dismissively asked "if her husband was home." They refused to send a tech back out stating (despite evidence) that the drain was clear. They also determined - over the phone with no evidence - that they needed to rip into our foundation and replace the drain because "it was a pipe problem." Since we're not idiots, I went to Lowe's and bought a 50-foot snake and cleared the drain myself. It turned out that someone had flushed a couple "flushable" wipes down a toilet elsewhere in the house and the way the drains came together under the house caused the kitchen sink to backup. It was a freak situation but it was solvable with a little work. And, guess what, no new pipes needed. After completing the job myself, I called Millersville Plumbing again to ask for a partial refund of the $400 we paid for them to do this job. I felt like asking for $200 was reasonable since they're a business and have to pay their workers, etc. After an explosive conversation with the man running the phone, I got a call from the owner later in the day apologizing. He agreed a refund was in order and offered to send out a check. It never came, even after checking back in twice over the next month. read more

I have had Millersville Plumbing do several things at my home and felt confident in recommending to others. Unfortunately, a friend that I recommended them, did not have the same experience as I did. They did not put down a drop cloth to protect the floor , proceeded to run a snake via the kitchen sink vs the basement and caused damage to the pipes in the kitchen which they were going to charge her $400 plus to fix. The damage was done unrelated to what she called them for, Another company did not fix the damage but said that it should only cost $50 to repair. She's been calling to speak to the manager, left messages to no avail. I called once and they told me they are working with her to resolve the problem. Not true. I am disappointed in a company that I have highly recommended to others. Not sure what has happened to the company's pride in its work and its work ethic. If I could leave a zero I would. I called for a service to be taken care of, and they damaged a pipe in an area they should have not even have snaked in the Kitchen, first floor. The problem was in the basement, the main sewer which just needed to be snaked. Instead they snaked a small PVC pipe under the kitchen, which they damaged. They should have snaked in the basement the large galvanized pipe where the leak was in the first place. Was told There was a broken pipe underground, which was not true. I was told it would cost $495 to fix the pipe they damaged under the Kitchen. I had an other service come and they fixed the clog, they snaked in the basement main line and was a root they removed, said there was no broken pipe underground, and they fixed the pipe in the kitchen that Millersville Plumbing damaged and It only cost $50.00 dollars. I would never recommend them to anyone. I felt totally lied to and scammed. I would recommend to anyone please get a second opinion so you don't get taken for. I asked to speak to the manager, and was told he would call me. It's been two weeks, still waiting. read more

Had a contract to replace all copper feed and drain lines from the first floor stack to the entire second floor of our residential home. The contract clearly started "ALL" copper pipes to be replace. The Plumber performing the work was constantly distracted from phones calls by the owner of the company, Jack Pumphrey. This led to the Plumbers constantly leaving early or showing up late and the estimated time of 2 days for the work to be completely turned into 5 days. More importantly the Plumber, having his time investment into the job extended, started to cut corners on the job by denying the replace of certain pipes claiming that they are "fine". The work was not completed according to the contract of the replacement of "ALL" copper pipes. Will never use them again. Attached a photo of proof of business. We found some water spots on our ceiling and called Millersville to come take a look. They spent about 20 minutes explaining what might be wrong and gave us some great advice on how to treat it. They didn't even charge us. read more

Made appt for site visit. They called the next day bc they didnt remember what the problem was, & also rescheduled for the following morning bc they would have more time. No one came in the morning, at 1pm i called to say no one showed, and they said we we were next... no one called to advise they were running late or it would really be afternoon before they would arrive. Too bad- It doesnt matter how good you are at something if you cant show up when youre supposed to. read more

Our main water pipe broke In the front yard causing a major leak under ground. I received quotes from four plumbing companies and found Millersville to be completely priced. I spoke with the owner Jack prior to the work being started, after the work was completed and again about a leak credit. Jack was pleasant and accommodating along with his crew. The three techs that worked on my property were all professional, showed up on time and completed the work quickly. I recommend Millersville Plumbing to anyone especially in the Crofton area as they seem to be familiar with the plumbing issues in the area. read more

We have used Millersville plumbing in the past for a complete water heater replacement and also a repair of a leaking pipe but my experience today was less than satisfactory. I was completely shocked by the $200 per hour charge and the $1000 bill ($800 for labor) that came with it. Afterwards I did research into the average cost per hour of plumbers in Maryland and found that was exceptionally high. Our complete cost to have both our water heater and leaking pipe replaced a few years ago was $655. Today we did have several pipe sections replaced and an outdoor faucet but with two employees I didn't expect the cost to be so high. I was also charged for the 50 minutes it took them to leave and get supplies and an extra half hour to which they ended up working anyways due to a leak I found after they stated they were complete. I later called the owner to discuss the way they charge to see if the 50 minutes away was reasonable and got no call back. They had no problem cashing the check though. read more

Stay away! I called to request a plumber to unclog my garbage disposal. "Bob" told me in this convesation I would need a new disposal. I told him I knew there was a piece of bone jamming it and I just could not dislodge it. He told me it would be two days to get to me; when I said I would go another direction he said he could send someone the next morning. A tech arrived, came in, fussed with the disposal for a few minutes, said he had to go out to his truck to get some tools, and returned with an older gentleman who must have been in the truck and came in with a new disposal unit and told me the unit would have to be replaced for 580.00. I told them politely I was going to explore other options; he charged me 200.00 for a 15 minute visit. I called another plumber who came, unjammed my disposal in 10 minutes and charged me 105.00. I was very disappointed with this company and their employees. It is obvious they were determined from the initial call to sell and install a new disposal unit. I would not recommend this co. to anyone. read more

One of the most efficient, reliable, kindest plumbing companies I've ever dealt with. I've had them in several times for pin holes in my copper pipes. They have been responsive, professional and clean up and take away when they are done. I recommend them by far from any other service. I'm glad I found them. read more

Our Copper pipes sprang a pinhole leak over New Year's weekend. We have used Millersville Plumbing in the past and called them again for this issue. The worker came out and cut away some drywall to find the leak. He found the leak promptly and patched it but advised us we would have to replace all of our existing copper pipes, which we did in the spring with another plumber since the Millersville plumber said that was something they didn't do. (Having just typed this review, I find it odd that they said they didn't replace water lines, when their website says that is something they specialize in.) When the weather warmed up this spring we realized that our air conditioner was not working. When the HVAC repairman came out he found that the wire between the thermostat and the air conditioner had been cut. The cut was right at the hole where the Millersville Plumber had cut with his saw. (The hole was still there due to the impending copper pipe replacement) Long story short $900 to have a new wire run and $400 to have the drywall patched over the new wire run. We tried to contact Millersville plumbing over this, assuming that they had some type of insurance that covered this type of accident. Starting the week of May 11, I began calling the Millersville Plumbing phone number weekly asking to speak to a manager. The person I spoke with would always hem and haw and say something to the effect of "neither of us knew the wire was there". I didn't even know the PIPE was there. That's why I called a professional! Over the next few weeks we would repeat the same phone call and I never heard from a manager. Until yesterday when the manager was the one who picked up the phone. Once I told him the story he gave me the same reply, "neither of us knew the wire was there". When I asked if they would help defray the repair cost at all, he just kept repeating "neither of us knew the wire was there". So I guess we will use a different plumber in the future. $1,300 lesson learned. read more

They did a fantastic and quick job on a leaking water line in front of our house. They were recommended to me by another plumber, because they specialize in water line replacement. Apparently they've done a lot of these, because they did it quickly and with minimal fuss. Even though they had to dig some pits in our front yard, you could hardly tell where they had been working as they replaced all the grass and plants. All said and done, from the first shovel to the last tweaks on the inside, they were done in half a day. 5-year warranty on everything, by the way. read more

Contacted Millersville Plumbing for a quote to replace an electric water heater. After telling them the year and make they knew my exact location. The workers showed up on time. Covered our floors with tarps and got right to work. The entire job was completed in under 2 hours. They left the house as clean as when they arrived. Everyone was professional and courteous. I needed a new hot water heater plus installation. I also needed to have a shower fixed (it produced no hot water) and another toilet fixed ( Millersville Plumbing had already repaired one of my other toilets on a previous visit last year). The price estimate for all of the work was great! I was expecting it to be much higher. And then, as always, the service was exceptional. I have recommended Millersville Plumbing to over 50 people I know...and every one of them has thanked me. I've called these guys several times over the years, and they've always been polite and punctual. I had a stopped up drain to clean out under the kitchen which they cleaned out completely and they even suggested to put in a clean-out, so it would take even less time if it ever happens again. So, ...it happened again. When they came the second time, The job was completed faster because of the clean out they installed, and the price for both visits was less than one for Roto Rooter. Several years past I called Millersville Plumbing for an estimate to patch my outside water line. They offered the best price so I went with them. They did a good job on the patch and I always recommended recommend them to others. At this moment my neighbor and I both have leaking main water lines. We live in a townhome with very small front yards. Between the both of us we called several plumbers for estimates. My neighbors shutoff and some of thier pipes are in my yard so we wanted to have them fixed at the same time, by the same plumber. Figure it would be cheaper that way. The other plumbers quoted one price if pipes were repaired separately and another price if repaired at same time. Being repaired at the same time was always the cheapest. That is until Millersville Plumbing stopped by. Millersville Plumbing wanted to charge us the price others quoted for having the pipes repaired separately. A higher cost of $800 per residence!! We are already suffering with the broken water main, money is usually tight at this time of year as the holidays are just barely over. It isn't like money is flowing into our pockets like the water flowing out of our yards. Then for them to add insult to injury by trying to overcharge us! So DISSAPPOINTED in Millersville Plumbing. Millersville Plumbing is wonderful! Yesterday evening I turned on my kitchen faucet only to discover the pan under my sink was full of water. I immediately called Millersville Plumbing. We hired Millersville Plumbing to replace our water line for over 10K. We specifically advised them of our outdoor lighting electric. They saw it in the first hole after carefully digging and did not hit it. They did however, hit it in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th holes. They subcontracted and paid an electrician to fix it. Less then three months later the electric does not work. We have contacted them and they have hung up the phone on us refusing to fix the issue. Millersville Plumbing is stating that they contacted a lawyer to file suit to collect the electricians fee. Note-they never, ever, told us that was our fee or responsibility. We specifically told them and they saw the electric following the water line. They also hit the Fios line as well! Also, they had to come back last week to fix the plumbing fitting they installed in the house that has already failed. They state they have a ten year warranty and liability insurance. Well, we don't see that helping us any. read more

I have had Millersville plumbing to my house a few times. They have always been great. Easy to make appointments, good work and fair prices. At one appointment I was getting a second quote for a very expensive repair another plumbing company told me we needed. The other company told me I needed some pipes replaced which required my patio dug up and it would cost over $3000. Millersville plumbing came out and after thoroughly looking over things told me that I just needed to uncover the end of a drainage pipe and that I could do it myself. He very respectfully told me the other guys were wrong and the pipes they were talking about weren't even connected so it was impossible for them to be the cause of the issue. He could have easily made something up like the other guy did or charge me a bunch of money to dig a couple inches into the yard to uncover that pipe. They did not do that, they have always been super nice and don't over charge or do unnecessary work. Also the garbage disposal they installed a few years ago is still working great. I have had an unexplained "water running" sound in my home for about a month. I called a plumber who was unable to determine what was causing this sound, which kept us up at night. This plumber offered several possibilities and several repairs but wasnt confident in his diagnosis. Frustrating....so I called Millersville Plumbing and right away Jack (owner) took the time to walk me through a checklist hoping I could find or remedy the problem myself. He actually took the time to talk to me several times during the week. All phone calls were promptly returned. We finally decided I needed professional help and he arranged to have someone at my home the next day. Jack told me to expect a call from Kyle....who would be arriving at 1 pm. As promised, I received a call from Kyle telling me he was on his way. Kyle arrived promptly at 1 pm. We spent a little time discussing what we had done...then Kyle went to work. He was very thorough and so determined to find the problem..he checked everything in our home. He wasnt giving up, he finally determined that the problem was in our neighbors home as we shared a pipe...Kyle was so professional and knowledgeable and we were so relieved to finally find out what was causing the problem. Its nice to know that I now have found a great plumbing company, look no futher for your plumbing needs! Thank you Jack and Kyle - great customer service! read more

The people running and working for Millersville Plumbing & Drain, are with out a doubt some of the friendliest people. They were kind and extremely helpful! I had a leaking dishwasher AND a leaking toilet at the same time.... I called Millersville Plumbing & Drain and they came to the rescue!
