The store is clean and well organized. The staff are nice and helpful. They have good variety of shoes, boots, and accessories. They have their usual sales area 30%-60% and they also have random sales depending on the days. If you are DSW member, you can apply coupons on top of the sales which is very good value. Ive been here a few times. The shop offers a ton of options for men, women and children. I specifically stopped in with my guy for work boots. The selection was small offering a few Wolverine and CAT styles. The prices were at or slightly below ot above $100.00. Which is about average. If you are looking for Sketcher work boots I didnt see any. Remember boys, coupons cant be used on these boots. For us ladies, they have beautiful shoes at affordable prices. I am already tall enough and trip over anything a lot of these shoes would cause injury. They also have a great selection of sneakers, boots, etc. I saw some teeny tiny adult pocket umbrellas that can be folded up and placed in a purse or back pocket. ($19.99). Parking sucks here. Do yourself a favor and park near the old Sears building. Im not sure why parking sucks. Maybe it has to do with the resturants. read more

Service is awesome, was helped out by someone named ariel who had a great attitude and made the visit nice. Love the selection of women shoes, but last time I was there 2/18/24 in the evening the security guard (Johny) made my shopping experience very uncomfortable. As soon as we walked in speaking Spanish my kids went straight to the toys, well he looked at them like they were going to run out with them mind you they are little kids! He wouldn't stop looking over at my kids, even telling my son where were the pokemon cards he was looking at when he had put them back right in front of his face. This review is mostly about one employee that went above and beyond to help me with an online exchange today. I have had very hit or miss experiences with this location. The last couple times I have been in I have not had positive experiences. Today was the opposite experience. I noticed one employee, Silvia, that was really going out of her way to help the customer in front of me. What it was my turn she also went above and beyond to help me out. The details aren't really important but she turned my opinion around of this store in particular. It would be nice if more employees genuinely enjoyed their jobs like she seemed to. One word behind why I knocked it one star: overwhelming! It's like they tried to pack as many shoes into a regular sized store as possible. I had gone to pick up an online order, but I can honestly see why so many people are choosing to shop online and have it delivered. I hadn't been in to a DSW in years (like pre-pandemic), and I don't feel like I've been missing much. I came here looking for my daughter's Homecomjng shoes. When I asked for help I was told they don't carry her size, Womens 12 in store. Only Online. Sylvia was still SO HELPFUL. She told me the brands they did carry that ran big. She even looked down the aisles with me to make she gave the right ones, and told me If they didn't fit I had 90 days to return them. I ended up going with a JLO Brand Size 11. AND THEY FIT MY DAUGHTER PERFECTLY. Never had this experience anywhere. Sylvia going above and beyond saved me hours of shopping. I found the restroom, but it had been blocked by a dolly and handwritten sign that said, "no customers beyond this point." This may be my least favorite DSW. Yes I have to admit I shop here. I pretty much strictly shop the clearance shoes for new work options as my previous ones wear out, for casual dress shoes, and for boots. I have bought maybe 4 pairs of shoes from DSW in the last 3-4 years. I normally always shop the clearance section at DSW. However the clearance section at this location is downright awful. They have almost nothing in the men's clearance section. I was astounded that the clearance area here was so small when compared to other DSWs. It is a giant sized store though. However, they are catering to women with a passion as they have a very small comparatively speaking men's selection. This is for new shoes as well. When I come in I am always on the lookout for Doc Martens or Steve Madden dress shoes and I was stunned to see none of either here. The staff here is not like most of the others in this chain. Perhaps they are busier or I was there at a bad time, but I didn't get much customer service response and didn't even see anyone on the floor who was an employee. Be forewarned that parking is a major issue here as well. When I came by the mall must have been flooded with tourists as it wasn't a shopping weeknight and the lot was literally full. I had to wait about 15 minutes to find a parking space. So yeah, I don't think I will be back to this DSW location. read more

Designer Shoe Warehouse...and boy are they designer prices but not with any designer names I recognize....then again I'm no shoe guru. I've been to DSW four to five times in my life and each time I can never find anything that screams "must take home!" The shoes are really not that cute and seem a little old lady for my taste. Call me crazy, but I will be DAMNED if I pay $40-$60 for flats or sandals. That should seriously be illegal. To be frank, I just don't even see them as $40-$60 quality. They don't have anything special added as any other basic flats or sandals that I could find in a small shoe store in the same mall...except the designer name that an average person wouldn't recognize. Granted the clearance prices are more reasonable, but the shoes are still ugly and just basic. There is NOTHING special about these "designer" shoes. As for the handbags and wallet selection at the front of the store...do yourself a favor and visit the Ross in the same complex to find a similar handbag and/or wallet for less than half the price. You can thank me later. Sorry for the bashing but here's another one...the layout if the shoes is completely illogical. It's seriously a huge space of unattractive aisles of shoe boxes stacked on top of one another. It's the most unpleasant and boring layout that makes your shopping experience in that store feel like such a drag because you feel like you're walking a half mile down each aisle looking at ugly and expensive shoes. Pretty big store. Lots of choices to chose from. We went on a Sunday so the store was a little messy which is understandable. I had to return some shoes that I bought online because they sent me the wrong size and I had to do an in-store pick up order. When I asked for the order they didn't have them. The girl who helped me had to find them on the floor. That bothered me a little because they had already been paid for. She was nice and located the shoes for me. The associate who helped me return the shoes to me I felt was either new or feeling under pressure. I told her that l needed to return the online order because they sent me the wrong size. Before she was going to process the return she told me the receipt was the wrong one because the sizes didn't match from the shoe box and the online receipt. I told her again I was returning them because they had sent me the wrong size. Honestly it should have been a one minute process and she probably took like 10 minutes. This DSW is huge! It is much larger than other locations that I have been to. This store is located in the corner of Buena Park Downtown and is one of the few stores worth coming to at this mall. DSW, Walmart, and Portillo's are the only reasons I would come here. The inside of the mall is plain depressing. There were more carts for $$$ for gold than real stores. But back to DSW... Their selection is large but the sale shoes were in disarray. I didn't want to get a headache so I just avoided the sale racks. I ended up getting two pairs of boots for Christmas. One for me and one for my cousin. I got a cute pair of brown madden girl heeled boots and I got my cousin some black wedge knee highs. She loved them! DSW is always my go to for cute shoes at a discount. The discount isn't that big though... the shoes run from $49.99-$150ish. I would never shell out over $100 at a DSW but I do like their madden girl and J by Jessica Simpson shoes. I have a pair of red patent leather pumps by Jessica Simpson that I still get compliments on. I like this store but not the location or the mall. read more

My mom and I frequent this DSW since it's the closest location around and they often send flyers/coupons that has great deals. They typically have a large sale section with various colored sticker discounts and I've been able to score some awesome finds for 40-50% off :D I get REALLY excited for the 50% off ones! ;) There's a wide range of brands and large selection of styles/sizes too! Not sure if this location gets too much love though since it's part of the Buena Park Mall (which is trying to modernize itself into Downtown Buena Park) My favorites are the Nine West and the Me Too brands. I rarely buy anything full price here as there's constant sales. The workers there have always been helpful for me as well so I'll continue to get my shoe shopping fix here! (And Ross). read more

Haven't been in here for a while (Not a DSW near us) but my little guy was in need of shoes & he didn't want the typical shoes his friends all have or Vans. We didn't care about price & decided to bring him here. He found shoes he loved really fast in his size, Great selection & Great price ! Very clean organized store. I was having trouble remembering which rewards number I had but knew I had a coupon & I figured it out after my purchase was done but Adrian the cashier was very helpful (was happy to help) & had no problem with the help of a manager to adjust my purchase. We checked out fast. Perfect customer service!! I like to usually get shoes from (Kohl's but no good size options always calling stores for availability). Glad we came here to DSW today & im going to start shopping here again. Coupon saved us $10. So shoes cost $39. That's a great deal, so we let Little guy pick a pair of cute Bunny slippers for little sister ( Surprised, No thick cheap foam inside... appropriate for her to run around indoors) , great price as well. When I asked the associate if I could get a balance check on my gift card they asked me to stand in line with the people who were waiting to purchase. I really don't like this store. It's a big DSW with lots of shoes to choose from. But the prices? It's expensive. The store itself doesn't feel high-end enough to be so pricey. Even with so many shoes to choose from, the selection itself can be distasteful. I'm wondering how this store is still in business. Most of the employees I've met here don't really care about providing customer service to anybody. Basically, I think it's an okay store. It's really hit-or-miss. I called in to see if they had the shoe I was looking for in my size. Just figured I'd be smart and call before driving up there and wasting gas if they don't have it. I took a picture of the barcode of the shoe before I called, so when I called, I would be ready. When I called, I got the usual greeting. I then asked for the associate to look up a shoe for me to see if they have it in my size. To my surprise, I hear a whisper over the phone with an attitude, "Oh my God!" I was caught off guard and my phone was being a little weird. So I asked the guy on the line to hold a bit as I look up the shoe. With an attitude, he asked if I went up on the website to check (which I did and had no luck, hence the call). But I was frustrated so I hung up. Called back again and got the same dude, with the same, "Oh my God," followed by a lie saying that they don't have any boots in the brand I was looking for. Well, he wasn't helpful so if I wanted something done right, I had to do it myself. No surprise to me, I FOUND the shoes I was looking for. The reason why I'm giving this DSW 2 stars is simply because the manager agreed to speak to me. I told him very calmly that his employee's (I stated his name to the manager) attitude and response over the phone in two separate incidents were very unprofessional to a paying customer. If this individual does not like to do his job, he should quit or he should be fired because either way, he's not representing the company in a manner that matches with the company's values that are listed on the internet. If the manager also gave me attitude, I would see if yelp could do negative stars. DSW had generally been a good place to shop for shoes. This is my first bad experience. read more

One word sums this location up: Pretentious. So Brandy was nice enough to send a mug advertising their name + a $5 gift certificate..I gave the card to my friend and I'm not sure what happened to the mug. I don't know why they even sent it since I didn't originally give the company a positive review..Why would I carry something that gives them free advertising? Anyway, I went back and had a slightly better experience and eventually bought *something*. The clearance racks still bear no fruit and the cashier was annoying beyond anything Best Buy does to their customers: "Do you have any gift certificates?" "No" "Can we have your phone number?" "Dont have one" "Do you have an address? We have this form you need to fill out.." Argh!! When he pulled out the form I finally said "I'm really not interested, just wanted to pay and leave." And he said "I understand! I'm just following procedure." It's like he took it personal after that. I get it, he's just doing his job..But if he doesn't like it, he can always get a new one. It's the company at fault for their policy of annoying the living hell out of its patrons. Will I be back? Probably not, and 2-stars is the best rating I can give based entirely off of the way the customers are treated, the layout of the store, and the lack of anything interesting on the clearance racks. Dressy, casual, sporty, heels, sexy, cute, boots, anything you could ask for. Good designers for already discounted prices. There are always a ton of employees walking around asking if you need help. It's well-organized, even the clearance/sale section. That's hard to find in shoe stores! The majority of the store is sorted by style. Works for me. I get skip the old lady section and the hooker section. Clearance/sale is sorted by size. There is a small hand bag section, as well. You can take the whole family here and everyone would find a lot to love. read more
