Our waitress was very attentive and checked in on us often. First time eating here and we were not disappointed. It was fairly busy with patrons dining in and with a steady stream of pickup/to go orders. Flavors were good, portions were large, and there were options for everyone. The time between ordering and receiving our food was fairly quick as well. We ordered pho, egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, and chicken & waffles. I ordered a hot tea, but I wouldn't order it again as I had to make it myself with the provided tea bags. The chicken and waffles dish was interesting, but not bad. I believe they used thighs and I would prefer breasts. Our waitress was sweet and attended our needs appropriately. They do use a robot for food deliveries which was neat to experience. The restaurant isn't large and there is a bar with tvs as well as a patio area. During busy times I can imagine there would be a nice little wait for a table. Now that I've dined in we'll probably try take out next. What I came for they were out of and waiting for a delivery, so I ordered the beef pho, and tofu banh mi extra crispy with extra sauce by the recommendation of my sever Emily. Emily's service was top tier from her recommendations to her bar tending skills! She also told me they have Happy Hour daily starting at 5, with deals on wine, beer and cocktails! I love Dua. My two favorites, pho and bahn mi are such comforting meals. I love stopping in and quickly picking up a meal. It's always done well and consistently. The price point is also great for the size. We usually take our food to go, so the decor inside isn't really important for us. They do have a bar and seating. They also have free parking and a lot. It's mostly also teens running the show when we go. I think it's important to give them a little extra time and consideration because it's most likely their first job. I have become here throughout the years, and for a long time it was a great place to get a healthy poke bowl or delicious Pho. Today I ordered a poke bowl and was super disappointed handful of the mix greens were wilted which when I would take a big bite would just make it taste like it hadn't been washed. I noticed the fish was a little less vibrant looking and cut Much Smaller than I was use to seeing.. which was never a good sign. Sadly about half way through I bit into a sinewy weird tasting piece of fish which immediately turned me off the rest bowl. I was on my way home and saw Dua Vietnamese. I made a u-turn because I was desperate to try it! I've been looking for a Vietnamese restaurant that's at least closer to home then Atlanta. I think I may have found one! I was cheerfully greeted as soon as I walked in and ordered a Thai tea. It was exactly what I wanted it to be, not too sweet and refreshing. I ordered the Poke' Bowl with salmon, spicy tuna, all the toppings*, with an mango aioli sauce. It was incredible! I ordered shrimp spring rolls and lemongrass chicken to go. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance was pretty chill which I appreciated for the time I had allotted myself. (It was a Monday afternoon). And it appeared as if they had regular customers since the host greeted someone by name. (I really love that!) Good pho, however many items there are a bit overpriced. My only true complaint is I'm sure some of staff working there have no idea what the restaurant is offering. I order my pho through the phone today (01/17/24) & request extra Beef Flank on the side, the woman on the phone doesn't understand what I am saying a few times & then eventually confirms that I can get the extra Flank included. I'd like to assume she just gave in & pretended to know what I was saying. I get to the restaurant to pick up my food & that same lady tells me they haven't served Beef Flank in years, which is impossible because I got extra Beef Flank the last time I ordered + Beef Flank is an ESSENTIAL part of Pho, any kind of Pho. I've been eating Pho all my life, as per any Vietnamese person can agree, it is part of our culture. It was a bit comical watching the hostess lie, but I left without any further issues. The crispy outside texture is such a pleasing and unique kind of crispy crunch. Like everything here, and obviously (not frozen) very large and tender fresh chicken breast. I wanted to cover some topics about this location, both positive and not so much since the restaurant recently had its grand opening. DUA in F'ville has been my spot to dine at for years. For starters: the owner, Grayson Truong (affectionately called Gracie by many surrounding the place), just acquired a liquor license! That's right, DUA now has a bar that serves draft beers and the like. Next, DUA, like most every other restaurant on Earth, has or had a short-staffing issue, only they've resolved it with a robot. This location and the Hapeville one are the only joints I've seen that have shown the initiative to use one for serving customers. The artificial person is named after one on the TV show "Tomorrowland," and it seems to come off non-intimidating to customers. Last week, I stopped at the DUA in Hapeville and had my usual shrimp bun bo hue. It was so tasty, it made me realize how I'd become a little blasé about the exact same meal here. The Hapeville bun bo hue actually made me cough when I began eating it, something that I'd missed doing at F'ville (I like it VERY spicy). Lately, I've taken to asking for some red pepper flakes with it in F'ville, which means that it's not really the same anymore. I did have an order of mi xao here the other week that was just delicious though! Bravo to manager Jeremy Caro and the rest of the staff here for reinventing the place in a brave and creative way. read more
